यर्मिया 49
1 अम्मोनीहरूको विषयमा परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “के इस्राएलका छोराछोरी छैनन् र? के इस्राएलमा कुनै उत्तराधिकारी छैन? किन मोलोखले गाद कब्जा गर्छ र त्यसका मानिसहरू यसका सहरहरूमा बस्छन् त?
Concerning the sons of Ammon: 'Thus said Jehovah: Sons — hath Israel none? heir — hath he none? Wherefore hath Malcam possessed Gad? And his people in its cities have dwelt?
2 त्यसैले, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, हेर्, यस्ता दिनहरू आउँदैछन्, जति बेला म अम्मोनीहरूका बिचमा रब्बाको विरुद्धमा युद्ध-ध्वनीको लागि सङ्केतको आवाज निकाल्नेछु, यसरी यो भग्नावशेषको थुप्रो हुनेछ, र यसका गाउँहरूमा आगो लगाइनेछ । किनकि इस्राएललाई अधिकार गर्नेहरूलाई त्यसले अधिकार गर्नेछ,” परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ ।
Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sounded unto Rabbah of the sons of Ammon a shout of battle, And it hath been for a heap — a desolation, And her daughters with fire are burnt, And Israel hath succeeded its heirs, Said hath Jehovah.
3 ए हेश्बोन, विलापको आवाज निकाल्, किनकि ऐ सहरलाई सर्वानाश गरिनेछ । ए रब्बाकी छोरीहरू हो, चिच्च्याओ । भाङ्ग्रा लगाओ । विलाप गर, र व्यर्थैमा यताउता कुद, किनकि मोलोख त्यसका पुजारीहरू र अगुहरूसँगै निर्वासनमा लगिनेछ ।
Howl, Heshbon, for spoiled is Ai, Cry, daughters of Rabbah, gird on sackcloth, Lament, and go to and fro by the hedges, For Malcam into captivity doth go, His priests and his princes together.
4 ए विश्वासहीन छोरी, तँ किन तेरा ज्यादै फलवन्त बेँसीहरूको विषयमा घमण्ड गर्छेस्? आफ्नो धन-सम्पत्तिमा भरोसा गरी तँ भन्छस्, 'मेरो विरुद्धमा को आउनेछ?'
What — dost thou boast thyself in valleys? Flowed hath thy valley, O backsliding daughter, Who is trusting in her treasures: Who doth come in unto me?
5 यो सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, हेर्, मैले तँमाथि त्रास ल्याउनै लागेको छु, यो त्रास तेरो वरिपरि भएका सबैबाट आउनेछ । यसको सामु तिमीहरू हरेक तितरबितर हुनेछौ । ती भाग्नेहरूलाई जम्मा गर्ने कोही पनि हुनेछैन ।
Lo, I am bringing in upon thee a fear, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts, From all round about thee, And ye have been driven out each before it, And there is no gatherer of the wandering.
6 तर यसपछि म अम्मोनका मानिसहरूको सुदिन फर्काउनेछु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।”
And after this I turn back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, An affirmation of Jehovah.'
7 एदोमको विषयमा सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “के तेमानमा अबदेखि कुनै बुद्धि पाइँदैन? के समझदारहरूबाट असल सल्लाह गायब भएको छ? के तिनीहरूको बुद्धि भ्रष्ट भएको छ?
Concerning Edom: 'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? Perished hath counsel from the intelligent? Vanished hath their wisdom?
8 ए ददानमा बासिन्दाहरू हो, भाग र फर्क, जमिनका गुफाहरूमा बस । किनकि मैले त्यसलाई दण्ड दिने बेलामा म त्यसमाथि एसावको विपत्ति ल्याउँदैछु ।
Flee, turn, go deep to dwell, ye inhabitants of Dedan, For the calamity of Esau I brought in upon him, The time I inspected him.
9 दाख टिप्नेहरू तँकहाँ आए भने के तिनीहरूले केही दानाहरू छोड्दैनन् र? रातमा चोरहरू आए भने के तिनीहरूले आफूले चाहे जति मात्र लैजाँदैनन् र?
If gatherers have come in to thee, They do not leave gleanings, If thieves in the night, They have destroyed their sufficiency!
10 तर मैले एसावलाई नाङ्गै पारेको छु । मैले त्यसका लुक्ने ठाउँहरू देखाएको छु, यसैले उसले आफैलाई लुकाउन सक्नेछैन । त्यसका छोराछोरी, दाजुभाइ र छिमेकीहरू नष्ट पारिएका छन्, र त्यो नष्ट भएको छ ।
For I — I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, And to be hidden he is not able, Spoiled [is] his seed, and his brethren, And his neighbours, and he is not.
11 तेरा अनाथहरूलाई पछाडि छोड् । तिनीहरूका जीवनको हेरचाह म गर्नेछु, र तेरा विधवाहरूले ममाथि भरोसा गर्न सक्छन् ।”
Leave thine orphans — I do keep alive, And thy widows — on Me trust ye,
12 किनकि परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “हेर, कचौरा पिउनु नपर्नेले त निश्चय नै केही पिउनैपर्छ । के तँचाहिं दण्डविना उम्कन्छस् भनी सोच्छस्? तँ उम्कने छैनस्, किनकि तैंले निश्चय नै पिउनेछस् ।
For thus said Jehovah: They whose judgment is not to drink of the cup, Do certainly drink, And thou [art] he that is entirely acquitted! Thou art not acquitted, for thou certainly drinkest.
13 यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, म आफैले यो शपथ खाएको छु, कि बोज्रा त्रास, अपमान, उजाड र सरापको पात्र बन्नेछ । यसका सबै सहर सदाको लागि सर्वनाश पारिनेछन् ।
For, by Myself, I have sworn, An affirmation of Jehovah, That for a desolation, for a reproach, For a waste, and for a reviling — is Bozrah, And all her cities are for wastes age-during.
14 मैले परमप्रभुबाट समाचार सुनेको छु, र जातिहरूकहाँ एक जना सन्देशवाहक पठाइएको छ, 'एकसाथ जम्मा होओ र त्यसलाई आक्रमण गर । युद्धको लागि तयार रहो ।'
A report I have heard from Jehovah, And an ambassador among nations is sent, Gather yourselves and come in against her, And rise ye for battle.
15 “किनकि हेर! अरू जातिहरूको तुलनामा मैले तँलाई सानो, मानिसहरूद्वारा घृणित तुल्याएको छु ।
For, lo, little I have made thee among nations, Despised among men.
16 तेरो त्रासको विषयमा, ए चट्टानका ठाउँहरूमा बस्ने बासिन्दाहरू हो, तेरो हृदयको घमण्डले तँलाई धोका दिएको छ, गरुडले झैं तैंले आफ्नो गुँड अग्लो ठाउँमा बनाउन भनेर अग्ला डाँडाका टाकुराहरू ओगटेर बस्नेहरू हो, म त्यहाँबाट तँलाई तल झार्नेछु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
Thy terribleness hath lifted thee up, The pride of thy heart, O dweller in clefts of the rock, Holding the high place of the height, For thou makest high as an eagle thy nest, From thence I bring thee down, An affirmation of Jehovah.
17 एदोमबाट भएर जाने हरेकको लागि यो त्रासको पात्र बन्नेछ । यसका सबै विपत्तिको कारण हरेक व्यक्ति तर्सनेछ र गिल्ला गर्नेछ ।
And Edom hath been for a desolation, Every passer by her is astonished, And doth hiss because of all her plagues.
18 जसरी सदोम र गमोरा अनि तिनीहरूका छिमेकीहरूको पतन भयो,” परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “त्यहाँ कोही पनि बस्नेछैन । कुनै पनि व्यक्ति त्यहाँ रहनेछैन ।
As the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, And its neighbours, said Jehovah, No one doth dwell there, Nor sojourn in her doth a son of man.
19 हेर्, यर्दनका जङ्गलहरूबाट हरिया खर्कहरूमा सिंहझैं ऊ माथितिर उक्लनेछ । किनकि म एदोमलाई त्यहाँबाट तुरुन्तै भाग्ने बनाउने छु, र चुनिएको कुनै व्यक्तिलाई म त्यसको जिम्मा लगाउनेछु । किनकि मजस्तो को छ र कसले मलाई बोलाउनेछ? कुनचाहिं गोठालोले मेरो विरोध गर्न सक्छ?”
Lo, as a lion he cometh up, Because of the rising of the Jordan, Unto the enduring habitation, But I cause to rest, I cause him to run from off her, And who is chosen? concerning her I lay a charge, For who is like Me? and who conveneth Me? And who [is] this shepherd who standeth before Me?
20 “त्यसैले परमप्रभुले एदोमको विरुद्धमा निधो गर्नुभएका योजनाहरू, तेमानका बासिन्दाहरूको विरुद्धमा बनाउनुभएका योजनाहरू सुन । निश्चय नै तिनीहरूका स-साना बगालका पनि घिस्याएर लगिनेछन् । तिनीहरूका खर्कहरू उजाड-स्थानमा परिणत हुनेछन् ।
Therefore, hear ye the counsel of Jehovah, That He hath counselled concerning Edom, And His devices that He hath devised Concerning the inhabitants of Teman: Drag them out do not little ones of the flock, Make desolate over them doth he not their habitation?
21 तिनीहरूको पतनको सोरमा पृथ्वी हल्लिन्छ । निराशाको चित्कारको सोर लाल समुद्रमा सुनिनेछ ।
From the noise of their fall hath the earth shaken, The cry — at the sea of Suph is its voice heard.
22 हेर्, कसैले बोज्रालाई गरुडझैं आक्रमण गर्नेछ, तलतिर बेग हानी यसमाथि आफ्ना पखेटा फैलाउनेछ । तब त्यस दिनमा एदोमका सिपाहीहरूका हृदयहरू प्रसव-वेदनामा भएकी स्त्रीको हृदयजस्तै हुनेछन् ।”
Lo, as an eagle he cometh up, and flieth, And he spreadeth his wings over Bozrah, And the heart of the mighty of Edom hath been in that day, As the heart of a distressed woman!'
23 दमस्कसको विषयमाः “हमात र अर्पाद लाजमा पर्नेछन्, किनकि तिनीहरूले विपत्तिको खबर सुनेका छन् । तिनीहरू पग्लेर जान्छन् । तिनीहरू शान्त नरहने समुद्रझैं छटपठीमा हुन्छन् ।
Concerning Damascus: Ashamed hath been Hamath and Arpad, For an evil report they have heard, They have been melted, in the sea [is] sorrow, To be quiet it is not able.
24 दमस्कस साह्रै कमजोर भएको छ । यो भाग्नलाई फर्कन्छ । त्रासले यसलाई पक्रन्छ । प्रसव-वेदनामा भएकी स्त्रीझैं निराशा र पीडाले यसलाई पक्रन्छन् ।
Feeble hath been Damascus, She turned to flee, and fear strengthened her, Distress and pangs have seized her, as a travailing woman.
25 त्यो प्रशंसाको सहर अर्थात् मेरो आनन्दको नगर किन त्यागिएको छैन?
How is it not left — the city of praise, The city of my joy!
26 त्यसकारण त्यस दिन त्यसका युवाहरू सार्वजनिक ठाउँहरूमा ढल्नेछन्, र सबै योद्धा नष्ट हुनेछन्, यो सर्वशक्तिमान् यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।”
Therefore fall do her young men in her broad places, And all the men of war are cut off in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.
27 “किनकि दमस्कसको पर्खालमा म आगो लगाउनेछु, र यसले बेन-हददका किल्लाहरूलाई भस्म पार्नेछ ।”
And I have kindled a fire against the wall of Damascus, And it consumed palaces of Ben-Hadad!'
28 केदार र हासोरका राज्यहरूको विषयमा परमप्रभु नबूकदनेसरलाई यसो भन्नुहुन्छ (यति बेला बेबिलोनका राजा नबूकदनेसरले यी ठाउँहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्न लागेका थिए): “उठ्, र केदारलाई आक्रमण गर्, अनि पूर्वका ती मानिसहरूलाई नष्ट पार् ।
Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath smitten: 'Thus said Jehovah: Arise ye, go ye up unto Kedar, And spoil the sons of the east.
29 तिनीहरूका पाल र तिनीहरूका बगाल लगिनेछन्, साथमा तिनीहरूका पालका पर्दाहरू र तिनका सबै सरसामान पनि । तिनीहरूका ऊँटहरू तिनीहरूबाट लगिनेछन्, र मानिसहरू तिनीहरूमाथि चिच्याउनेछन्, 'त्रास जताततै छ!”
Their tents and their flock they do take, Their curtains, and all their vessels, And their camels, they bear away for themselves, And they called concerning them, Fear [is] round about.
30 ए हासोरका बासिन्दाहरू हो, भाग, धेरै टाढा जाओ, जमिनका गुफाहरूमा लुक, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो— किनकि बेबिलोनका राजा नबूकदनेसरले तिमीहरूको विरुद्धमा योजना रच्दैछ । भाउ, पछि फर्क ।
Flee, bemoan mightily, go deep to dwell, Ye inhabitants of Hazor — an affirmation of Jehovah, For given counsel against you hath Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Yea, he deviseth against them a device.
31 उठ्, आराम भएको जातिलाई आक्रमण गर, जुन सुरक्षामा बस्छ,” परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ । “तिनीहरूका मूल ढोकाहरू वा तिनमा गजबारहरू छैनन्, अनि त्यसका मानिसहरू त्यत्तिकै बस्छन् ।
Rise ye, go up unto a nation at rest, Dwelling confidently, an affirmation of Jehovah, It hath no two-leaved doors nor bar, Alone they do dwell.
32 किनकि तिनीहरूका ऊँटहरू लुटको माल बन्नेछन्, र तिनीहरूको प्रचुर धन-सम्पत्ति युद्धमा लुटिने माल बन्नेछन् । तब शोकमा आफ्ना कपाल काट्ने हरेकलाई म हावामा तितरबितर पार्नेछु, र तिनीहरूमाथि म हरेक कुनाबाट विपत्ति ल्याउनेछु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
And their camels have been for a prey, And the multitude of their cattle for a spoil, And I have scattered them to every wind, Who cut off the corner [of the beard], And from all its passages I bring in their calamity, An affirmation of Jehovah.
33 हासोर स्यालहरूको अखडा अर्थात् सदाको निम्ति उजाड-स्थान बन्नेछ । त्यहाँ कोही बस्नेछैन । कुनै मानिस त्यहाँ रहनेछैन ।”
And Hazor hath been for a habitation of dragons, A desolation — unto the age, No one doth dwell there, nor sojourn in it doth a son of man!'
34 एलामको विषयमा यर्मिया अगमवक्ताकहाँ आएको परमप्रभुको वचन यही हो । यहूदाका राजा सिदकियाहले राज्य गर्न सुरु गर्दा यो वचन आएको थियो, र तिनले भने,
That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying:
35 “सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छः हेर्, मैले एलामका धनुर्धारीहरूलाई तोड्नै लागेको छु, जुन तिनीहरूको शक्तिको मुख्य कुरा हो ।
'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, I am breaking the bow of Elam, The beginning of their might.
36 किनकि आकाशका चार कुनाबाट म चारवटा बतास ल्याउनेछु, र एलामका मानिसहरूलाई म ती सबै हावामा तितरबितर पार्नेछु । त्यहाँ कुनै राज्य नै हुनेछैन जहाँ एलामबाट छरिएकाहरू नपुगेको होस् ।
And I have brought in to Elam four winds, From the four ends of the heavens, And have scattered them to all these winds, And there is no nation whither outcasts of Elam come not in.
37 यसरी एलामीहरूलाई म तिनीहरूका शत्रुहरू र तिनीहरूको ज्यान लिन खोज्नेहरूको सामु चूरचूर पार्नेछु । किनकि म तिनीहरूको विरुद्धमा विपत्ति अर्थात् मेरो क्रोधको ज्वाला दन्काउनेछु— यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो— र मैले तिनीहरूलाई निमिट्ट्यान्न नपारेसम्म म तिनीहरूका पछि तरवार पठाउनेछु ।
And I have affrighted Elam before their enemies, And before those seeking their life, And I have brought in against them evil, The heat of Mine anger, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sent after them the sword, Till I have consumed them;
38 त्यसपछि एलाममा म आफ्नो सिंहासन स्थापित गर्नेछु, र त्यहाँबाट त्यसका राजाहरू र अगुवाहरूलाई नष्ट पार्नेछु— यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो—
And I have set My throne in Elam, And I have destroyed thence King and princes — an affirmation of Jehovah.
39 र यस्तो हुनेछ कि पछिल्ला दिनहरूमा म एलामको सुदिन फर्काउनेछु— यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।”
And it hath come to pass, in the latter end of the days, I turn back [to] the captivity of Elam, An affirmation of Jehovah!'
