यर्मिया 45

1 यर्मिया अगमवक्ताले नेरियाहका छोरा बारूकलाई भनेका वचन यही हो । यर्मियाको आवज सुनेर तिनले यी वचन एउटा मुट्ठोमा लेखे— यो यहूदाका राजा योशियाहका छोरा यहोयाकीमको चौथो वर्ष थियो र तिनले भने,

The word which Jeremiah the prophet spake to Baruch, the son of Neriah, after he had written these words in a book from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying: —

2 “बारूक, परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीलाई यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छः

Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, to thee, O Baruch!

3 तैंले भनिस्, 'धिक्‍कार छ मलाई! किनकि परमप्रभुले मलाई पीडामा वेदना थप्‍नुभएको छ । मेरो सुस्केराले मलाई थकाएको छ । मैले विश्राम पाइन ।'

Thou sayest, “Woe now to me, for Jehovah hath added grief to my sorrow! I am weary with my sighing, and find no rest.”

4 तैंले उसलाई यसो भन्‍नुपर्छ, ‘परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छः हेर, जे मैले बनाएँ, त्‍यो म अब भत्काउँदैछु । जे मैले रोपेँ, त्‍यो अहिले म उखेल्दैछु— सारा पृथ्वीभरि नै म यसै गर्नेछु ।

Thus shalt thou say to him: Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, that which I myself have builded do I break down, and that which I myself have planted do I pluck up, even this whole land;

5 तर के तँचाहिं आफ्नै निम्ति ठुला-ठुला कुराहरूको आशा गर्छस्? त्यसको आशा नगर् । किनकि हेर्, सारा मानव-जातिमाथि विपत्ति आउँदैछ, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो— तर तँ जहाँ जानेछस्, त्यहाँ म तेरो जीवन तेरो लुटको रूपमा तँलाई नै दिनेछु' ।”

and seekest thou great things for thyself? Seek them not; for behold, I am about to bring evil upon all flesh, saith Jehovah; but thy life will I give thee, as a prey, in all places whither thou shalt go.
