यर्मिया 3
1 “कुनै पुरुषले आफ्नी पत्नीसित सम्बन्ध-विच्छेद गर्यो, र उसको जीवनबाट त्यो गई अनि अर्को पुरुषकी पत्नी भई भने, ऊ फेरि फर्केर त्योकहाँ जान्छ र? के त्यो देश औधी दुषित हुँदैन र? तँ धेरै प्रेमी भएकी वेश्याजस्तै भएर बसेको छेस् । के तँ मकहाँ फर्कन्छेस्? यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
“If a man divorces his wife and she goes from him and becomes another man's wife, will he return to her again? Would that land not be greatly polluted? You have lived as a prostitute who has many lovers; and would you return to me?—this is Yahweh's declaration.
2 नाङ्गा डाँडाहरूतर्फ आफ्ना आँखा उठा र हेर् । के कुनै त्यस्तो ठाउँ छ, जहाँ तेरो अवैध यौनधन्दा छैन? एक जना अरबी उजाड-स्थानमा बसेझैं तँ आफ्ना प्रेमीहरूको प्रतीक्षा गर्दै बाटोका किनारहरूमा बस्छेस् । तेरो वेश्यावृत्ति र दुष्टताले तैंले देशलाई दुषित पारेको छेस् ।
Lift up your eyes to the barren heights and look! Is there any place where you have not had illicit sex? By the roadsides you sat waiting for your lovers, as an Arab in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and wickedness.
3 त्यसैले वर्षा थामिएको छ, र वसन्त ऋतुको पानी परेको छैन । तरै पनि तँसित वेश्याको निधार छ । तँ लज्जित हुन इन्कार गर्छेस् ।
So the showers have been withheld and the spring rains have not come; yet you have the forehead of a prostitute; you refuse to be ashamed.
4 के भर्खरै मात्र तैंले मलाई पुकारिनस्, “हे मेरा पिता, मेरो युवावस्थादेखिको मेरो घनिष्ठ मित्र ।
Have you not just now called to me: 'My father! My closest friend even from my youth!
5 के उहाँ सधैं रिसाउनुहुन्छ र? के उहाँले आफ्नो क्रोधलाई सधैं अन्त्यसम्म राख्नुहन्छ र?' हेर्! तैंले यसरी भनेको छेस्, तर तैंले त सके जति दुष्ट काम गर्छेस् ।”
Will he always be angry? Will he always keep his wrath to the end?' Look! This is what you have said, but you do all the evil you can!”
6 तब राजा योशियाहको शासनकालमा परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्नुभयो, “विश्वासहीन इस्राएलले के गरेको छ, तँ देख्छस्? त्यो हरेक अग्लो डाँडा र हरेक झ्याम्म परेको रुखमुनि गएकी छ, र त्यहाँ त्यसले वेश्याले झैं काम गरेकी छ ।
Then Yahweh said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Do you see what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up every high hill and under every leafy tree, and there she has acted like a prostitute.
7 मैले भनें, “यी सबै कुरा गरेपछि त्यो म कहाँ फर्कन्छे', तर त्यो फर्किन । तब त्यसकी विश्वासहीन बहिनी यहूदाले यी सबै देखी ।
I said, 'After she does all these things, she will return to me,' but she did not return. Then her faithless sister Judah saw these things.
8 त्यसैले मैले देखेँ, त्यसरी नै त्यस विश्वासहीन इस्राएलले व्यभिचार गरेकी छे, र मैले त्यसलाई निकालेको छु, र त्यसको विरुद्धमा त्यागपत्र दिएको छु । त्यसकी विश्वासहीन बहिनी यहूदा डराइन । त्यो पनि गई र वेश्याले झैं काम गरी ।
So I saw that, in the same way that faithless Israel had committed adultery and I had sent her away and had given a bill of divorce against her, her faithless sister Judah did not fear; she also went out and acted like a prostitute.
9 त्यसको वेश्यावृत्ति त्यसको लागि केहीजस्तो भएन । त्यसले देशलाई दुषित पारी, र त्यसले ढुङ्गा र रुखहरूसित व्यभिचार गरी ।
Her prostitution was nothing to her; she defiled the land, and she committed adultery with stones and trees.
10 यी सबै कुरापछि त्यसकी विश्वासहीन बहिनी यहूदा सारा हृदयले होइन तर झूट लिएर मकहाँ फर्की, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।”
Then after all of this, her faithless sister Judah returned to me, not with all her heart, but with a lie—this is Yahweh's declaration.”
11 तब परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्नुभयो, “विश्वासहीन इस्राएल विश्वासहीन यहूदाभन्दा बढी धर्मी भएको छ ।
Then Yahweh said to me, “Faithless Israel has been more righteous than faithless Judah!
12 जा र उत्तरलाई यी वचन घोषणा गर्, “'हे विश्वासहीन इस्राएल, फर्की' यो परमप्रभु घोषणा हो, 'म तँसित सधैं रिसाउनेछैनँ ।' परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ, 'म विश्वासयोग्य भएको हुनाले म सदासर्वदा रिसाउनेछैन ।'
Go and proclaim these words to the north. Say, 'Return, faithless Israel!—this is Yahweh's declaration—I will not always be angry with you. Since I am faithful—this is Yahweh's declaration—I will not stay angry forever.
13 तेरो अधर्मलाई स्वीकार गर्, किनकि परमप्रभु तेरा परमेश्वरको विरुद्धमा तैंले अपराध गरेको छस्, हरेक झ्याम्म परेको रुखमुनि तैंले परदेशीहरूसित तेरा मार्गहरू बाँडेको छस् । किनकि तैंले मेरो कुरा सुनेको छैनस्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
Acknowledge your iniquity, for you have transgressed against Yahweh your God; you have shared your ways with strangers under every leafy tree! For you have not listened to my voice!—this is Yahweh's declaration.
14 'ए विश्वासहीन जाति, फर्की' यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, 'म तेरा पति हुँ ।' सहरबाट एक जना र एउटा परिवारबाट दुई जना गरी म तँलाई लिनेछु र म तँलाई सियोनमा ल्याउनेछु ।
Return, faithless people!—this is Yawheh's declaration—I am your husband! I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion!
15 मेरै जस्तो हृदय भएका गोठालाहरू म तँलाई दिनेछु, र ज्ञान र अन्तर्दृष्टिले तिनीहरूले तेरो हेरचाह गर्नेछन् ।
I will give you shepherds after my heart, and they will shepherd you with knowledge and insight.
16 तब ती दिनमा देशमा तेरो वृद्धि हुनेछ, र तैले फल फलाउनेछस् भनी परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ । तिनीहरूले फेरि यसो भन्नेछैनन्, 'परमप्रभुको करारको सन्दुक' । फेरि यो विषय तिनीहरूका हृदयमा आउनेछैन, वा सम्झना हुनेछैन । यो गुम्नेछैन र अर्को बनाइनेछैन ।’
Then it will happen that you will increase and bear fruit in the land in those days—this is Yahweh's declaration-they will no longer say, “The ark of the covenant of Yahweh!” This matter will no longer come up in their hearts or be remembered; it will not be missed, and another one will not be made.'
17 त्यस बेला तिनीहरूले यरूशलेमको बारेमा घोषणा गर्ने छन्, 'यो परमप्रभुको सिंहासन हो ।' अनि अरू सबै जाति परमप्रभुको नाउँमा यरूशलेममा जम्मा हुनेछन् । अब उसो तिनीहरू तिनीहरूका दुष्ट हृदयको हठमा हिंड्नेछैनन् ।
In that time they will proclaim about Jerusalem, 'This is Yahweh's throne,' and all the other nations will gather at Jerusalem in Yahweh's name. They will no longer walk in the stubbornness of their wicked hearts.
18 ती दिनमा यहूदाको घराना इस्राएलको घरानासँगै हिंड्नेछ । तिनीहरू उत्तरको देशबाट मैले तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूलाई पैतृक-सम्पत्तिको रूपमा दिएको देशमा सँगसँगै आउनेछन् ।
In those days, the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel. They will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave your ancestors as an inheritance.
19 मेरो बारेमा मैले भनें, 'मेरो छोरोको रूपमा म तिमीहरूलाई व्यवहार गर्न र तिमीहरूलाई मनमोहक देश दिन चाहन्छु । यो पैतृक-सम्पत्ति अन्य कुनै पनि जातिसित भएको भन्दा सुन्दर छ । मैले भन्ने थिएँ, ‘तिमीहरूले मलाई बोलाउनेछौ, 'हे मेरा पिता' । तिमीहरू मलाई पछ्याउनदेखि तर्कनेथिएनौ भनी मैले भन्ने थिएँ ।
As for me, I said, 'How I want to treat you as my son and give you a pleasant land, an inheritance more beautiful than what is in any other nation!' I would have said, 'You will call me “my father”.' I would have said that you would not turn from following me.
20 तर आफ्नो पतिको लागि विश्वासहीन भएकी स्त्रीझैं, ए इस्राएलका घराना हो, तैंले मलाई धोका दिएको छस्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
But like a woman faithless to her husband, you have betrayed me, house of Israel—this is Yahweh's declaration.”
21 मैदानहरूमा इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको रुवाइ र चिच्च्याइको एउटा आवाज सुनिन्छ । किनकि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना मार्ग बद्लेका छन् । तिनीहरूले परमप्रभु आफ्ना परमेश्वरलाई बिर्सेका छन् ।
A voice is heard on the plains, the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel! For they have changed their ways; they have forgotten Yahweh their God.
22 “हे विश्वासहीन मानिस हो, फर्क । तिमीहरूको विश्वासघातलाई म निको पार्नेछु ।” “हेर्नुहोस्! हामी तपाईंकहाँ फर्कनेछौं किनकि तपाईं परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ ।
“Return, faithless people! I will heal you of treachery!” “Behold! We will come to you, for you are Yahweh our God!
23 निश्चय नै डाँडाहरूबाट झूट आउँछ र पर्वतहरूबाट अलमल पार्ने आवाज आउँछ । निश्चय नै परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वर इस्राएलको उद्धार हुनुहुन्छ ।
Surely lies come from the hills, a confusing noise from the mountains; surely Yahweh our God is the salvation of Israel.
24 तरै पनि लाजलाग्दा मूर्तिहरूले हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूले परिश्रम गरेका तिनीहरूका बगाल, बथान, तिनीहरूका छोराछोरीलाई भस्म पारेका छन् ।
Yet shameful idols have consumed what our ancestors have worked for— their flocks and cattle, their sons and daughters!
25 हामी लाजमा पल्टौं । हाम्रो लाजले हामीलाई ढाकोस्, किनकि हामीले परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वरको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका छौं । हाम्रो युवावस्थादेखि आजको दिनसम्म हामी र हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूले परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्वरको आवाजलाई सुनेका छैनौं ।”
Let us lie down in shame. May our shame cover us, for we have sinned against Yahweh our God! We ourselves and our ancestors, from the time of our youthfulness to this present day, have not listened to the voice of Yahweh our God!”
