यर्मिया 14

1 खडेरीको सम्‍बन्‍धमा यर्मियाकहाँ आएको परमप्रभुको वचन यही हो,

The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah concerning the drought.

2 “यहूदाले शोक गरोस् । त्यसका मूला ढोकाहरू भाँचिऊन् । तिनीहरू देशको लागि विलाप गर्दैछन् । यरूशलेमको निम्ति तिनीहरूको क्रन्दन माथि जाँदैछ ।

"Judah mourns, and its gates languish, they sit in black on the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

3 तिनीहरूका शक्तिशाली मानिसहरूले आफ्‍ना नोकरहरूलाई पानीको लागि बाहिर पठाउँछन् । जब तिनीहरू कुवामा जान्‍छन् तब तिनीहरूले पानी पाउन सक्‍दैनन् । तिनीहरू असफल भएर फर्कन्छन् । तिनीहरू लज्‍जित र बेइजत आफ्ना शिर ढाक्छन् ।

Their nobles send their little ones to the waters: they come to the cisterns, and find no water; they return with their vessels empty; they are disappointed and confounded, and cover their heads.

4 देशमा पानी नपरेको हुनाले, जमिन चिराचिरा परेको छ । हलो जोत्‍नेहरू लज्‍जित भएका छन् र आफ्ना शिर ढाक्छन् ।

Because of the ground which is cracked, because no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are disappointed, they cover their heads.

5 घाँस नभएकोले मुडुली मृगले पनि आफ्ना बच्‍चाहरूलाई मैदानमा छोड्‍छ र तिनलाई त्‍यगिदिन्‍छ ।

Yes, the hind also in the field calves, and forsakes her young, because there is no grass.

6 जङ्गली गधाहरू नाङ्गा मैदानहरूमा खडा हुन्छन्, र तिनीहरू स्यालझैं हाँप्छन् । हरियो खर्क नभएको कारणले तिनीहरूका आँखा तिरमिराउँछन् ।”

The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage."

7 हे परमप्रभु, हाम्रा अधर्मले हाम्रो विरुद्धमा गवाही दिए तापनि तपाईंकै नाउँको नाम्‍ति काम गर्नुहोस् । किनकि हाम्रा विश्‍वासहीन कामहरू वृद्धि हुन्छन् । हामीले तपाईंको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका छौं ।

"Though our iniquities testify against us, work for your name's sake, Jehovah; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.

8 तपाईं नै इस्राएलको आशा हुनुहुन्छ, जसले सङ्कष्‍टको समयमा त्यसलाई बचाउनुहुन्छ । पाल टाँग्‍ने र एक रातको निम्ति मात्र बस्‍ने अपरिचित परदेशीजस्तै तपाईं यस देशमा किन बन्‍नुहुन्‍छ?

Hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?

9 तपाईं किन आश्‍चर्यमा परेको मानिसझैं व छुटकाराको निम्ति शक्ति नभएको योद्धाजस्तै हुनुहुन्छ? हे परमप्रभु, तपाईं हाम्रा बिचमा हुनुहुन्छ, र हाम्रा बिचमा तपाईंकै नाउँ पुकारिन्छ । हामीलाई नत्‍याग्‍नुहोस् ।

Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can't save? Yet you, Jehovah, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; do not leave us."

10 परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना मानिसलाई यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ, “तिनीहरू बरालिन मन पराउने भएको हुनाले त्यसो गर्नदेखि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना खुट्टालाई रोकेका छैनन् ।” परमप्रभु तिनीहरूसित खुसी हुनुहुन्‍न । अब उहाँले तिनीहरूका अधर्म सम्झनुभएको छ, र तिनीहरूका पापलाई दण्ड दिनुभएको छ ।

Thus says Jehovah to this people, "Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins."

11 परमप्रभुले मलाई यसो भन्‍नुभयो, “यी मानिसहरूको पक्षमा भलाइको निम्ति प्रार्थना नगर् ।

Jehovah said to me, "Do not pray for this people for their good.

12 किनकि तिनीहरूले उपवास बसे भने म तिनीहरूका विलाप सुन्‍नेछैनँ, अनि तिनीहरूले होमबलि र अन्‍नबलि चढाए भने म तिनमा खुशी हुनेछैन । किनकि तरवार, अनिकाल र विपत्तिले म तिनीहरूको अन्त्य ल्याउनेछु ।”

When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and meal offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence."

13 तब मैले भनें, “हे परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर, हेर्नुहोस्, अगमवक्ताहरूले मानिसहरूलाई भन्दैछन्, 'तिमीहरूले तरवार देख्‍नेछैनौ । तिमीहरूका निम्ति अनिकाल पर्नेछैन, किनकि म यस ठाउँमा तिमीहरूलाई साँचो सुरक्षा दिनेछु' ।”

Then I said, "Ah, Jehovah. Look, the prophets tell them, 'You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.'"

14 परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्‍नुभयो, “अगमवक्ताहरूले मेरो नाउँमा छलको अगमवाणी बोल्छन् । मैले तिनीहरूलाई पठाइनँ, न मैले तिनीहरूलाई कुनै आज्ञा दिएँ वा तिनीहरूसित बोलेँ । तर छली दर्शन र बेकम्मा, छली मन्त्रतन्त्र तिनीहरूका आफ्नै समझबाट आएका हुन्, जुन तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई अगमवाणी बोल्दैछन् ।”

Then Jehovah said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke I to them: they prophesy to you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.

15 त्यसकारण परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ, “मैले नपठाएका अगमवक्ताहरू जसले मेरो नाउँमा अगमवाणी बोल्छन्, जसले यस देशमा कुनै तरवार वा अनिकाल पर्नेछैन भन्छन्, यी अगमवक्ताहरू तरवार र अनिकालले नष्‍ट पारिनेछन् ।

Therefore thus says Jehovah concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, and I did not send them, yet they say, 'Sword and famine shall not be in this land:' 'By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.'

16 त्यसपछि ती मानिसहरू जसलाई तिनीहरूले अगमवाणी बोले, तिनीहरू अनिकाल र तरवारको कारणले यरूशलेमका सडकहरूमा फ्याँकिनेछन्, किनकि त्यहाँ तिनीहरू, तिनीहरूका पत्‍नीहरू, छोराछोरीलाई गाड्ने कोही हुने छैनन्, किनकि म तिनीहरूका दुष्‍टता तिनीहरूमाथि नै खन्याउनेछु ।

The people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them—them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness on them."

17 तिनीहरूलाई यो वचन भन्, ‘मेरा आँखाबाट दिनरात आँसु बगिरहोस् । त्यसलाई नरोक्, किनकि मेरो जातिकी कन्याको ठुलो विनाश हुनेछ । त्यसले ठुलो र निको नहुने चोट पाउनेछ ।

"You shall say this word to them, 'Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.

18 म मैदानमा गएँ भने, त्यहाँ तरवारले मारिएकाहरू हुन्छन् । म सहरमा आएँ भने, त्यहाँ अनिकालले ल्याएका रोगहरू हुन्छन् । अगमवक्ता र पुजारी दुवै देशको यताउता बरालिन्छन्, र तिनीहरूलाई थाहैछैन' ।”

If I go forth into the field, then, look, the slain with the sword. And if I enter into the city, then, look, those who are sick with famine. For both the prophet and the priest go about in the land, and have no knowledge.'"

19 के तपाईंले यहूदालाई बिलकुलै इन्कार गर्नुभएको हो? के तपाईं सियोनलाई घृणा गर्नुहुन्छ? जब हामी निको हुनुछैन भने किन तपाईं हामीलाई कष्‍ट दिनुहुन्छ? हामीले शान्तिको आशा गर्‍यौँ, तर त्यहाँ कुनै असल कुरा थिएन र निको हुने समय थिएन, तर हेर्नुहोस् त्‍यहाँ त्रास मात्र छ ।

"Have you utterly rejected Judah? Has your soul loathed Zion? Why have you struck us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and look, dismay.

20 हे परमप्रभु, हामी हाम्रा दोष, हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूका अपराध स्वीकार गर्छौं, किनकि हामीले तपाईंको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका छौं ।

We acknowledge, Jehovah, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against you.

21 हामीलाई नत्याग्‍नुहोस् । तपाईंको नाउँको निम्‍ति तपाईंको महिमित सिंहासनलाई अपमानित नगर्नुहोस् । हामीसित बाँध्‍नुभएको आफ्‍नो करार सम्झनुहोस्, र त्‍यसलाई नतोड्नुहोस् ।

Do not abhor us, for your name's sake; do not disgrace the throne of your glory: remember, do not break your covenant with us.

22 के जातिहरूका कुनै बेकम्मा मूर्तिले वर्षा ल्याउँछ सक्‍छ र? वा के आकाश आफैले झरी पठाउँछ? हे परमप्रभु तपाईं नै हाम्रा परमेश्‍वर हुनुहुन्‍न र? हामीले तपाईंमा प्रतीक्षा गर्छौं, किनकि यी सबै कुरा गर्नुहुने तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ ।

Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren't you he, Jehovah our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things."
