यर्मिया 13

1 परमप्रभुले मलाई यसो भन्‍नुभयो, “जा र एउटा सुतीको पटुका किन्, र यसलाई तेरो कम्मरको चारैतिर बाँध, तर त्यसलाई पहिले पानीमा नभिजा ।”

The LORD said to me, “Go, and buy yourself a linen belt, and put it on your waist, and don’t put it in water.”

2 परमप्रभुले निर्देशन दिनुभएझैं मैले एउटा पटुका किनें र त्यसलाई मेरो कम्मरको चारैतिर बह्रें ।

So I bought a belt according to the LORD’s word, and put it on my waist.

3 तब दोस्रो पटक परमप्रभुको वचन यसो भनेर मकहाँ आयो,

The LORD’s word came to me the second time, saying,

4 “तैंले किनेको पटुका जुन तेरो कम्मरको चारैतिर बाँधिएको छ, त्यसलाई निकाल्, र उठ र परातमा जा । त्यहाँ चट्टानको धाँदोमा त्यसलाई लुका ।”

“Take the belt that you have bought, which is on your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.”

5 त्यसैले जसरी परमप्रभुले मलाई आज्ञा दिनुभएको थियो त्‍यसरी नै म गएँ र त्यसलाई परातमा लुकाएँ ।

So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

6 धेरै दिनपछि परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्‍नुभयो, “खडा हो र परातमा फर्केर जा । मैले तँलाई लुकाउन भनेको त्यो पटुका लिएर आइज ।”

After many days, the LORD said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the belt from there, which I commanded you to hide there.”

7 त्यसैले म परातमा फर्केर गएँ, र मैले लुकाएको ठाउँबाट त्यसलाई खनेर झिकेँ, र हेर, त्‍यो त नष्‍ट भएको र पूर्ण रूपमा बेकम्मा भएको थियो ।

Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the belt from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the belt was ruined. It was profitable for nothing.

8 तब परमप्रभुको वचन यसो भनेर मकहाँ आयो,

Then the LORD’s word came to me, saying,

9 “परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ, 'त्यसरी नै यहूदा र यरूशलेमको ठुलो अहंकारलाई म नाश गर्नेछु ।

“The LORD says, ‘In this way I will ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

10 मेरो वचन सुन्‍न इन्कार गर्ने, आफ्नो हृदयको कठोरतामा हिंड्ने, अरू देवताहरूको पुजा गर्न तिनीहरूका पछि जाने र तिनीहरूको सामु निहुरने यो दुष्‍ट जाति त्यही पटुकाजस्तै हुनेछ, जसको कुनै काम छैन ।

This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods to serve them and to worship them, will even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing.

11 जसरी एउटा पटुका कसैको कम्मरमा कसिएको हुन्छ, त्यसरी नै मैले इस्राएलका सबै घराना र यहूदाका सबै घरानालाई मेरो जाति हुन, मेरो नाउँ राख्‍न, मलाई इज्‍जत, प्रशंसा र आदर गर्न ममा कसिन लगाएको छु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो । तर तिनीहरूले मेरो कुरा सुन्दैनन् ।

For as the belt clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to me,’ says the LORD; ‘that they may be to me for a people, for a name, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’

12 त्यसैले तैंले यो वचन तिनीहरूलाई भन्‍नुपर्छ, 'परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्‍वर यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छः हरेक मशक दाखमद्यले भरिनेछ ।' तिनीहरूले तँलाई भन्‍नेछन्, 'हरेक मशक दाखमद्यले भरिनेछ भनेर के हामीलाई थाहा छैन र?'

“Therefore you shall speak to them this word: ‘The LORD, the God of Israel says, “Every container should be filled with wine.”’ They will tell you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every container should be filled with wine?’

13 त्यसैले तिनीहरूलाई भन्, 'परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छः हेर, यस देशको हरेक बासिन्दा अर्थात् दाऊदको सिंहासनमा बस्‍ने राजाहरू, पुजारीहरू, अगमवक्ताहरू र यरूशलेमका सबै बासिन्दालाई मैले पियक्‍कडपनले भर्न लागेको छु ।

Then tell them, ‘The LORD says, “Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

14 तब प्रत्‍येक मानिसलाई अर्कोको विरुद्धमा, बुबाहरूलाई छोराछोरीका विरुद्धमा नष्‍ट पार्न लगाउनेछु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, म तिनीहरूलाई दया देखाउने वा टिठ्यानेछैनँ, र तिनीहरूलाई विनाशबाट जोगाउनेछैनँ ।'

I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together,” says the LORD: “I will not pity, spare, or have compassion, that I should not destroy them.”’”

15 सुन, र ध्यान देओ । अहङ्कारी नहोओ, किनकि परमप्रभुले बोल्नुभएको थियो ।

Hear, and give ear. Don’t be proud, for the LORD has spoken.

16 परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले अन्धकार ल्याउनुअगि र उहाँले तिमीहरूका खुट्टा अँध्यारोमा पहाडहरूमा ठेस लगाउनु अगि उहाँलाई आदर देओ । किनकि तिमीहरू ज्योतिको खोजी गर्दैछौ, तर उहाँले त्यस ठाउँलाई घोर अन्धकार, बाक्लो बादलमा परिणत गर्नुहुनेछ ।

Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it deep darkness.

17 त्यसैले तिमीहरूले सुनेनौ भने, तिमीहरूको अहङ्कारको कारणले म एक्लै रुनेछु । निश्‍चय नै म रुनेछु, र मेरा आँखाबाट आँसुका धारा बग्‍नेछ, किनकि परमप्रभुको बगाल कैदमा लगिएको छ ।

But if you will not hear it, my soul will weep in secret for your pride. My eye will weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive.

18 “राजा र राजमातालाई भन्, 'आ-आफ्नो सिंहासनबाट ओर्लेर तल आओ, किनकि तिमीहरूका गौरवशाली मुकुटहरू तिमीहरूका शिरबाट खसेका छन् ।'

Say to the king and to the queen mother, “Humble yourselves. Sit down, for your crowns have come down, even the crown of your glory.

19 नेगेवका सहरहरू थुनिने छन् । तिनलाई खोल्ने कोही हुनेछैन । सारा यहूदा कैदमा लगिनेछन् । पूर्ण रूपमा कैदमा लगिनेछन् ।

The cities of the South are shut up, and there is no one to open them. Judah is carried away captive: all of them. They are wholly carried away captive.

20 आफ्ना आँखा उठाओ र उत्तरबाट आइरहेकाहरूलाई हेर् । उहाँले तँलाई दिनुभएको बगाल, तेरो लागि साह्रै सुन्दर बगाल कहाँ छ?

Lift up your eyes, and see those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, your beautiful flock?

21 तैंले तालिम दिएकाहरूलाई नै तेरा खास मित्रहरू हुन परमेश्‍वरले तँमाथि राख्‍नुहुँदा तैंले के भन्‍नेछस्? के यी एउटी स्‍त्रीले प्रसव-वेदनामा पीडा भोगेजस्तै तैंले भोग्‍ने पीडाको थालनी होइन र?

What will you say when he sets over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? Won’t sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail?

22 तब तैंले आफ्नो हृदयमा भन्लास्, 'यी कुरा ममाथि किन आइरहेका छन्?' तेरा अपराधको थुप्रोको कारणले तेरो फरिया उचालिएको छ, र तँलाई कुव्यवहार गरिएको छ ।

If you say in your heart, “Why have these things come on me?” Your skirts are uncovered because of the greatness of your iniquity, and your heels suffer violence.

23 के कूशका मानिसहरूले आफ्‍नो छालाको रङ बद्लन सक्छन् र, वा चितुवाले आफ्नो छालाको थोप्ला बद्लन सक्छ र? त्यसो हो भने, दुष्‍टताको निम्ति बानी परेको तैंले पनि भलाइ गर्न सक्छस् ।

Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.

24 मरुभूमिको बतासमा उडाइने भुसजस्तै म तिनीहरूलाई तितर-बितर पार्नेछु ।

“Therefore I will scatter them as the stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.

25 मैले तँलाई यही कुरा दिएको छु, तेरो निम्‍ति मैले आदेश दिएको हिस्सा यही हो, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, किनकि तैंले मलाई भुलेको छस् र छलमाथि भरोसा गरेको छस् ।

This is your lot, the portion measured to you from me,” says the LORD, “because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.”

26 त्यसैले म आफैले पनि तेरो फरिया उठानेछु, र तेरो गुप्‍ताङ्‍ग देखिनेछ ।

Therefore I will also uncover your skirts on your face, and your shame will appear.

27 मैले तेरो व्यभिचार, हिनहिनाइ, डाँडाहरू र मैदानहरूमा भएको तेरो वेश्यावृत्तिको दुष्‍टता देखेको छु, र यी घृणित कुराहरू मैले देखेको छु । ए यरूशलेम, तँलाई धिक्‍कार! तँलाई फेरि शुद्ध हुन कति समय लाग्‍नेछ?”

I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You will not be made clean. How long will it yet be?”
