यशैया 9
1 जो वेदनमा थियो, उसबाट नैराश्यता दूर गरिनेछ । जबूलूनको देश र नप्तालीको देशलाई, पहिलेको समयमा उहाँले होच्याउनुभयो, तर पछिल्लो समयमा उहाँले त्यसको समुद्र जाने बाटोमा, यर्दनपारि जातिहरूका गलीलमा त्यसलाई महिमित पार्नुहुनेछ ।
But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun [Living together] and the land of Naphtali [My wrestling]; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan [Descender], Galilee [District, Circuit] of the nations.
2 अन्धकारमा हिंड्ने मानिसहरूले एउटा ठुलो ज्योति देखेका छन् । मृत्युको छायाको देशमा बसेकाहरू, तिनीहरूमाथि ज्योति चम्केको छ ।
The people living in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.
3 तपाईंले जातिहरूलाई वृद्धि गर्नुभएको छ । तपाईंले तिनीहरूका आनन्दलाई वृद्धि गर्नुभएको छ । कटनीको समयमा झैं तिनीहरू तपाईंको सामु आनन्दित हुन्छन्, जसरी मानिसहरूले लूटको माल बाँड्दा तिनीहरू आनन्दित हुन्छन् ।
You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the plunder.
4 किनकि त्यसको भरी जुवा, त्यसको पिठ्युको नाल, त्यसको अत्याचारीको लट्ठीलाई तपाईंले मिद्यानको समयमा झैं चकनाचूर पार्नुभएको छ ।
For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian [Strife].
5 दुश्मन सिपाहीका हरेक जुत्ता र रगतमा मुछिएको पोशाकलाई जलाइनेछ र आगोको निम्ति इन्धन हुनेछ ।
For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.
6 किनकि हाम्रा निम्ति एउटा बालकको जन्म भएको छ, हाम्रो निम्ति एउटा छोरा जन्मेको छ, र शासन उहाँको काँधमा हुनेछ । अनि उहाँको नाउँ अचम्मको सल्लाकार, शक्तिशाली परमेश्वर, अनन्तका पिता र शान्तिका राजकुमार राखिनेछ ।
For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Peleh-Yo 'etz [Wonderful-Counselor], El Gibbor [Mighty God], Avi-'Ad [Everlasting Father], Sar-Shalom [Prince of Peace].
7 दाऊदको सिंहासनमा र उनको राज्यलाई स्थापित गर्न, अनि त्यसलाई न्याय र धार्मिकताले थाम्न उहाँले अहिलेदेखि लिएर सदासर्वदा राज्य गर्नुहुँदा, उहाँको शासन र शान्ति वृद्धिको अन्त हुनेछैन । सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको जोशले यो पुरा गर्नेछ ।
The increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David [Beloved]’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with mishpat ·justice· and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] will perform this.
8 परमप्रभुले याकूबको विरुद्धमा वचन पठाउनुभयो र यो इस्राएलमा पर्यो ।
'Adonay [Lord] sent a word into Jacob [Supplanter], and it falls on Israel [God prevails].
9 सबै मानिसहरूले जान्नेछन्, घमण्डसाथ र अहङ्कारी हृदयले भन्ने एफ्राइम र सामरियाले पनि जान्नेछन्,
All the people will know, including Ephraim [Fruit] and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart,
10 “इँटहरू खसेका छन्, तर कुँदेका ढुङ्गाहरूले नै हामी पुनःनिर्माण गर्नेछौं । अञ्जीरका रूखहरू काटिएका छन्, तर तिनका ठाउँमा हामी देवदारुका रूखहरू रोप्नेछौं ।”
“The bricks have fallen, but we will build with cut stone. The sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.”
11 यसकारण परमप्रभुले उसको शत्रु रसीनलाई उसको विरुद्धमा खडा हुनुहुनेछ र उसका शत्रुहरूलाई,
Therefore Adonai will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin, and will stir up his enemies,
12 पुर्वका अरामीहरू र पश्चिमका पलिश्तीहरू उक्साउनुहुनेछ । तिनीहरूले खुल्ला मुखले इस्राएललाई निल्नेछन् । यी सबै कुराले उहाँको रिस मर्दैन । बरु, उहाँको हात अझै पसारिएकै छ ।
The Syrians in front, and the Philistines [To roll in dust (As an insult)] behind; and they will devour Israel [God prevails] with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 तापनि उहाँले प्रहार गरेका मानिसहरू उहाँतिर फर्कंदैनन्, न त तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुको खोजी गर्नेछन् ।
Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies].
14 यसकारण परमप्रभुले इस्राएलबाट टाउको र पुच्छर, खजूरको हाँगा र नर्कट एकै दिनमा नष्ट पार्नुहुनेछ ।
Therefore Adonai will cut off from Israel [God prevails] head and tail, palm branch and reed, in one day.
15 अगुवाहरू र भद्र मानिसहरू मुखिया हुन् । झुटो सिकाउने अगमवक्ता पुच्छर हो ।
The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.
16 यी मानिसहरूलाई डोर्याउनेहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पथभ्रष्ट पार्छन् र तिनीहरूद्वारा डोर्याइनेहरू निलिन्छन् ।
For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.
17 यसकारण परमप्रभु तिनीहरूका जवानहरूसित आनन्दित हुनुहुन्न, न त उहाँले तिनीहरूका अनाथ र विधवाहरूमाथि दया गर्नुहुनेछ, किनकि हरेक व्यक्ति अधर्मी र दुष्ट छन्, अनि हरेक मुखले मूर्ख कुराहरू गर्छन् । यी सबै कुराहरूमा उहाँको रिस मर्दैन । बरु, उहाँको हात अझै पसारिएकै छ ।
Therefore 'Adonay [Lord] will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have racham ·compassionate merciful love· on their orphans and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
18 दुष्टता आगोझैं बल्छ । त्यसले सिउँडी र काँढालाई भष्म पार्छ । यसले जङ्गलको झाडीलाई पनि जलाउँछ, जसले धूँवाको मुस्लोमा उठ्नेछ ।
For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
19 सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको क्रोधले देश जलेको छ र मानिसहरू आगोको निम्ति इन्धनजस्तै छन् । कुनै मानिसले आफ्नो भाइलाई छोड्दैन ।
Through Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies]’ wrath, the land is burned up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.
20 तिनीहरूल दाहिने हातमा खानेकुरा समात्छन् तर तिनीहरू अझै भोको नै हुन्छन् । तिनीहरूले देब्रे हातमा खाना खानेछन्, तर अझै तृप्त हुनेछैनन् । प्रत्येकले आफ्नै बाहुलीको मासु पनि खानेछ ।
One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm:
21 मनश्शेले एफ्राइमलाई, अनि एफ्राइमले मनश्शेलाई भस्म गर्नेछ । तिनीहरू एकसाथ यहूदालाई आक्रमण गर्नेछन् । यी कुराहरूमा, उहाँको रिस मर्दैन । बरु, उहाँको हात अझै पसारिएकै छ ।
Manasseh [Causing to forget], Ephraim [Fruit]; and Ephraim [Fruit], Manasseh [Causing to forget]; and they together shall be against Judah [Praised]. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
