यशैया 51

1 तिमीहरू जो धार्मिकताको पछि लाग्‍छौ, तिमीहरू जो परमप्रभुको खोजी गर्छौ, मेरो कुरा सुनः तिमीहरू निकालिएका चट्टानलाई र तिमीहरू काटिएका पत्थरलाई हेर ।

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look to the rock from which ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit from which ye are dug.

2 तिमीहरूका पुर्खा अब्राहाम र तिमीहरूलाई जन्माउने सारालाई हेर । किनकि ऊ एक्‍लै हुँदा मैले उसलाई बोलाएँ । मैले उसलाई आशिष् दिएँ र उसलाई धैरै बनाएँ ।

Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah that bore you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

3 हो, परमप्रभुले सियोनलाई सान्त्वना दिनुहुनेछ । उहाँले त्यसका सबै उजाड ठाउँहरूलाई सान्त्वना दिनुहुनेछ । त्यसको उजाड-स्‍थानलाई अदनझैं, अनि यर्दन नदी नजिकैको त्यसका मरुभूमिका मैदानहरूलाई परमप्रभुको बगैंचाझैं उहाँले बनाउनुभयो । त्यसमा खुसी र आनन्द, धन्यवाद र गीतको सोर हुनेछ ।

For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found in it, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

4 “ए मेरा मानिसहरू, मेरो कुरामा ध्यान देओ । अनि ए मेरा मानिसहरू, मेरा कुरा सुन । किनकि म एउटा आदेश जारी गर्नेछु र म आफ्‍नो न्यायलाई जातिहरूका निम्ति ज्योति बनाउनेछु ।

Hearken to me, my people; and give ear to me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

5 मेरो धार्मिकता नजिकै छ । मेरो उद्धार बाहिर जानेछ र मेरो बाहुलीले जातिहरूको न्याय गर्नेछ । समुद्र किनारहरूले मलाई पर्खिनेछन् । मेरो बाहुलीका निम्‍ति तिनीहरू उत्‍सुकतासाथ आशा गर्नेछन् ।

My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on my arm shall they trust.

6 आफ्‍ना आँखा आकाशतिर उचाल र तल पृथ्वीमुनि हेर, किनकि आकाश धूँवाझैं हराएर जानेछ, पृथ्वी लुगाझैं फाटेर जानेछ र त्‍यसका बासिन्दाहरू झिंगाझैं मर्नेछन् । तर मेरो उद्धार सदासर्वदा निरन्तर रहनेछ र मेरो धार्मिकताले कदापि काम गर्न छोड्नेछैन ।

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall become old like a garment, and its inhabitants shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

7 ठिक कुरा जान्‍ने, आफ्नो हृदयमा मेरो व्यवस्था राख्‍ने मानिसहरू, मेरो कुरा सुनः मानिसहरूका अपमानदेखि नडराओ, न तिनीहरूका दुराचारदेखि निराश होओ ।

Hearken to me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

8 किन लुगा खाएझैं कीराले तिनीहरूलाई खानेछ र ऊन खाएझैं औंसाले तिनीहरूलाई खानेछ । तर मेरो धआर्मिकता सदासर्वदा रहनेछ र मेरो उद्धार सबै पुस्ताहरूमा रहनेछ ।”

For the moth shall eat them like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

9 ए परमप्रभुका बाहुली हो, जाग, जाग, आफूमा सामर्थ्य धारण गर । पुराना दिनहरू र प्राचीन समयका पुस्ताहरूमा झैं जगा होओ । राहाबलाई कुल्चने तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्‍न र, जसले राक्षसलाई छेड्यो?

Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not that which hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

10 के तपाईंले समुद्रलाई अर्थात् गहिरो पानीलाई सुकाउनु भएन, र समुद्रको गहिराइलाई उद्धार गरिएकाहरूको निम्ति बाटो बनाउनु भएन र?

Art thou not that which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

11 परमप्रभुले मोल तिरेर छुटाउनुभएकाहरू फर्किनेछन् र आफ्‍ना शिरहरूमा सदाको निम्ति आनन्द र खुसीको सोर लिएर सियोनमा आउनेछन् । अनि खुसी र आनन्दले तिनीहरूलाई उछिन्‍नेछ, र कष्‍ट र शोक भाग्‍नेछन् ।

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

12 “तिमीहरूलाई सान्त्वना दिने म नै हुँ । तिमीहरू मानिसहरूसित किन डराउँछौ, मानिसहरूका छोराहरू, जो मर्ने छन्, जसलाई घाँसजस्तै बनाइने छन्?

I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass;

13 परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना सृष्‍टिकर्तालाई तिमीहरूले किन बिर्सेका छौ, जसले आकाशलाई फिंजाउनुभयो र पृथ्वीका जगहरू बसाल्नुभयो? अत्याचारीले तिमीहरूको नाश गर्ने निधो गर्दा, त्‍यसको कडा क्रोधको त्रासमा निरन्‍तर परेका छौ । अत्यचारीको क्रोध कहाँ छ?

And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

14 जो झुकेका छ, परमप्रभुले मुक्‍त गर्न हतार गर्नुहुनेछ । ऊ मर्ने र तल खाडलमा जानेछैन, न रोटीको कमी हुनेछ ।

The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.

15 किनकि म परमप्रभु तेरा परमेश्‍वर हुँ, जसले समुद्रलाई घोल्‍नुहुन्छ ताकि त्‍यसको छालहरू गर्जून्— उहाँको नाउँ सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु हो ।

But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.

16 मैले आफ्‍नो वचन तेरो मुखमा हालेको छु, र आफ्‍नो हातको छायाले मैले तँलाई ढाकेको छु, ताकि मैले आकाशलाई राख्‍न सकुँ, पृथ्वीको जगहरू बसाल्न सकुँ र सियोनलाई, 'तिमीहरू मेरा मानिसहरू हौ' भन्‍न सकुँ ।

And I have put my words in thy mouth, and have covered thee in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, Thou art my people.

17 ए यरूशलेम जाग्, जाग्, खडा हो, तिमीहरू जसले परमप्रभुको हातको क्रोधको कचौरा पिएर मातेका छौ । तिमीहरू जसले कचौराबाट पिएका छौ र धरमराउने कचौराबाट रित्तिने गरी पिएका छौ ।

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drank the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.

18 त्यसलाई डोर्‍याउन त्यसले जन्माएका सबै छोराहरूमध्ये कोही पनि छैनन् । हात समातेर त्यसलाई डोर्‍याउनलाई त्यसले हुर्काएको सबै छोरामध्ये कोही पनि छैनन् ।

There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.

19 तँमाथि वियोग र विनाश, अनिकाल र तरवार— यी दुई कष्‍टहरू आइपरेका छन्— तँसँग कसले शोक गर्नेछ? तँलाई कसले सान्त्वना दिनेछ?

These two things have come to thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?

20 तेरा छोराहरू मूर्छ परेका छन् । जालमा परेको चित्तलझैं तिनीहरू हरेक गल्‍लीको कुनाहरूमा ढल्‍नेछन् । परमप्रभुको क्रोध अर्थात् तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको हप्‍कीले तिनीहरू भरिएका छन् ।

Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.

21 तर अब यो कुरा सुन्, ए अत्यचारमा परेकाहरू र मत्तिएकाहरू, तर दाखमद्यले मातिएकाहरू होइनन्:

Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunk, but not with wine:

22 परमप्रभु तेरा परमेश्‍वर, आफ्‍ना मानिसहरूका निम्‍ति बहस गर्नुहुने परमेश्‍वर यसो भन्‍नुहुन्‍छ, “हेर्, मैले तेरो हातबाट धरमराउने कचौरा— मेरो क्रोधको कचौरा— लिएको छु, ताकि तैंले फेरि त्‍यो पिउनेछैनस् ।

Thus saith thy Lord Jehovah, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

23 तँलाई सताउनेहरूका हातमा त्‍यो म राख्‍नेछु, जसले तँलाई भनेका छन्, 'भुइमा सुत्, ताकि तँमाथि हामी हिंड्नछौं ।' तिनीहरूलाई हिंड्न तैंले आफ्‍नो ढाडलाई जमिन र बाटोझैं बनाइस् ।”

But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; who have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
