यशैया 48
1 ए याकूबको घराना, यो कुरा सुन जसलाई इस्राएलको नाउँले बोलाइन्छ र यहूदाको वीर्यबाट आएको छ । तिमीहरू जसले परमप्रभुको नाउँमा शपथ खान्छौ र इस्राएलको परमेश्वरलाई पुकार्छौ, तर साँचो रूपले गर्दैनौ न धार्मिक तरिकाले गर्छौ ।
Hear these [words], you house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of Juda, who swear by the name of the Lord God of Israel, making mention [of it, but] not with truth, nor with righteousness;
2 किनकि तिनीहरूले आफूलाई पवित्र सहरका मानिसहरू भन्छन् र इस्राएलको परमेश्वरमा भरोसा गर्छन् । सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु उहाँको नाउँ हो ।
maintaining also the name of the holy city, and staying themselves on the God of Israel: the Lord of hosts is his name. The former things I have already declared;
3 “मैले धेरै पहिलेदेखि नै घोषणा गरेको छु । तिनीहरू मेरो मुखबाट निस्के र मैले नै तिनीहरूलाई प्रकट गरें । तब मैले अचानक ती गरें र ती हुन आए ।
and they that have proceeded out of my mouth, and it became well known; I wrought suddenly, and [the events] came to pass.
4 किनभने तिमीहरू हठी भएको म जान्दथें, तिमीहरूका गर्दनका मांशपेशी फलामजस्तै कडा थियो, अनि तिमीहरूका निधार काँसाजस्तै थियो,
I know that you are stubborn, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your forehead brazen.
5 यसकारण मैले यी कुराहरू तिमीहरूलाई पहिले नै बताएँ । ती हुनुअगि नै मैले तिमीहरूलाई जानकारी दिएँ, त्यसैले तिमीहरूले यसो भन्न सक्नेछैनौ, 'मेरो मूर्तीले त्यो गरेको छ,' वा 'मेरो खोपेको आकृति र मेरो धातुबाट बनाइएको आकृतिले यी कुराहरू ठहराए ।’
And I told you of old what [should be] before it came upon you; I made it known to you, lest you should say, [My] idols have done [it] for me; and should say, [My] graven and molten images have commanded me.
6 तिमीहरूले यी कुराहरूका बारेमा सुन्यौ । यी सबै प्रमाणलाई हेर । अनि के मैले जे भनें सो सत्य हो भनी तिमीहरू स्वीकार गर्नेछैनौ? अबदेखि, तिमीहरूले नजानेका नयाँ कुराहरू, लुकाइएका थोकहरू म तिमीहरूलाई देखाउँदैछु ।
You have heard all this, but you have not known: yet I have made known to you the new things from henceforth, which are coming to pass, and you said not,
7 अहिले र पहिलेदेखि होइन, तिनीहरू अस्तित्वमा आउँछन् र आजभन्दा पहिले तिनीहरूका बारेमा तिमीहरूले सुनेका छैनौ, त्यसैले तिमीहरूले यसो भन्न सक्दैनौ, 'हो, तिनीहरूका बारेमा मलाई थाहा थियो ।'
Now they come to pass, and not formerly: and you heard not of them in former days: say not you, Yes, I know them.
8 तिमीहरूले कहिल्यै सुनेनौ । तिमीहरूले जानेनौ । यी कुराहरू तिमीहरूका कानमा यसअघि भनिएको थिएन । किनकि तिमीहरू धेरै छली भएका छौ र जन्मैदेखि तिमीहरू विद्रोही भएका छौ भनी मलाई थाहा थियो ।
You have neither known, nor understood, neither from the beginning have I opened your ears: for I knew that you would surely deal treacherously, and would be called a transgressor even from the womb.
9 मेरै नाउँको निम्ति म आफ्नो क्रोधलाई ढिला गर्नेछु, मेरो इज्जतको निम्ति म तिमीहरूलाई नाश गर्न रोक्नेछु ।
For mine own sake will I show you my wrath, and will bring before you my glorious acts, that I may not utterly destroy you.
10 हेर, तिमीहरूलाई मैले शुद्ध पारें, तर चाँदीलाई झैं होइन । तिमीहरूलाई मैले दुःखकष्टको भट्टीमा शुद्ध पारेको छु ।
Behold, I have sold you, [but] not for silver; but I have rescued you from the furnace of affliction.
11 मेरै निम्ति, मेरै निम्ति म काम गर्नेछु । किनकि मेरो नाउँलाई म कसरी अपवित्र हुन दिन सक्छु र? म आफ्नो महिमा अरू कसैलाई दिनेछैन ।
For mine own sake I will do [this] for you, because my name is profaned; and I will not give my glory to another.
12 ए याकूब, मेरो कुरा सुन्, ए इस्राएल जसलाई मैले बोलाएँ: म उही हुँ । म पहिलो हुँ र म अन्तिम पनि हुँ ।
Hear me, O Jacob, and Israel whom I call; I am the first, and I endure for ever.
13 हो, मेरो हातले पृथ्वीको जग बसाल्यो र मेरो दाहिने हातले आकाश फिंजायो । जब म तिनीहरूलाई बोलाउँछु, तब तिनीहरू एकसाथ खडा हुन्छन् ।
My hand also has founded the earth, and my right hand has fixed the sky: I will call them, and they shall stand together.
14 तिमीहरू सबैले आफूलाई भेला पार र सुन! तिमीहरूका माझमा कसले यी कुराहरू घोषणा गरेको छ? परमप्रभुको मित्रले बेबिलोनविरुद्ध उहाँको उद्देश्य पुरा गर्ने छ । कल्दीहरूका विरुद्धमा उसले परमप्रभुको इच्छा पुरा गर्नेछन् ।
And all shall be gathered, and shall hear: who has told them these things? Out of love to you I have fulfilled your desire on Babylon, to abolish the seed of the Chaldeans.
15 म, मैले बोलेको छु, हो, मैले त्यसलाई बोलाएको छु, मैले त्यसलाई ल्याएको छु र त्यो सफल हुनेछ ।
I have spoken, I have called, I have brought him, and made his way prosperous.
16 मेरो नजिक आओ र यो कुरा सुनः “सुरुदेखि नै मैले गुप्तमा बोलेको छैन । जब यो हुन्छ, तब म त्यहाँ हुन्छु ।” अहिले परमप्रभु परमेश्वरले मलाई र उहाँको आत्मालाई पठाउनुभएको छ ।
Draw near to me, and hear you these words; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning: when it took place, there was I, and now the Lord, [even] the Lord, and his Spirit, has sent me.
17 परमप्रभु, तिमीहरूका उद्धारक, इस्राएलका परमपवित्र यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “म परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर हुँ, जसले कसरी सफल हुने भनी सिकाउँछ, जसले तिमीहरू जानुपर्ने बाटोमा डोर्याउँछ ।
Thus says the Lord that delivered you, the Holy One of Israel; I am your God, I have shown you how you should find the way wherein you should walk.
18 तिमीहरूले मेरा आज्ञाहरू मात्र पालन गरेका भए । तिमीहरूका शान्ति र समृद्धि नदीझैं बग्ने थियो र तिमीहरूका उद्धार समुद्रको छालझैं हुनेथियो ।
And if you had listened to my commandments, [then] would your peace have been like a river, and your righteousness as a wave of the sea.
19 तिमीहरूका सन्तानहरू बालुवाझैं असंख्या हुने थिए र तिमीहरूका गर्भबाट जन्मेका छोराछोरीका बलुवाका कणझैं अनगिन्ति हुने थिए । तिनीहरूका नाउँ मेरो सामुबाट काटिने वा मेटिने थिएन ।
Your seed also would have been as the sand, and the offspring of your belly as the dust of the ground: neither now shall you by any means be utterly destroyed, neither shall your name perish before me.
20 बेबिलोनबाट बाहिर आओ! कल्दीहरूबाट भाग! गुञ्जयमान् आवाजसँगै यो घोषणा गर! यसलाई प्रकट गर, यसलाई पृथ्वीको अन्तिम छेउसम्म जान देओ । यसो भन, 'परमप्रभुले आफ्नो सेवक याकूबलाई उद्धार गर्नुभएको छ ।'
Go forth of Babylon, you that flee from the Chaldeans: utter aloud a voice of joy, and let this be made known, proclaim it to the end of the earth; say you, The Lord has delivered his servant Jacob.
21 उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई मरुभूमिमा डोर्याउनुहुँदा तिनीहरूलाइ तिर्खा लागेन । उहाँले तिनीहरूको निम्ति चट्टानबाट पानी बगाउनुभयो । उहाँले चट्टानलाई चिरा पार्नुभयो र पानी बाहिर बगेर आयो ।
And if they shall thirst, he shall lead them through the desert; he shall bring forth water to them out of the rock: the rock shall be cloven, and the water shall flow forth, and my people shall drink.
22 त्यहाँ दुष्टहरूलाई शान्ति हुँदैन,’ परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ ।”
There is no joy, says the Lord, to the ungodly.
