यशैया 47
1 ए बेबिलोनकी कन्ये छोरी, तल आइज र धूलोमा बस् । ए कल्दीकी छोरी सिंहासनविना नै जमिनमा बस् । तँलाई कदापि सुकुमार र कोमल भनिनेछैन ।
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
2 जाँतो लि र पीठो पिंध् । तेरो घुम्टो हटा, तेरो लामो वस्त्र उतार, तेरा गोडाहरू नाङ्गो पार्, खोलाहरू तर् ।
Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
3 तेरो नाङ्गोन देखिनेछ, हो, तेरो लाज देखिनेछ । म बद्ला लिनेछु र एक जना मानिसलाई पनि छोड्नेछैन ।
Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet [thee as] a man.
4 सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु हाम्रा उद्धारक, इस्राएलको परमपवित्र उहाँको नाउँ हो ।
[As for] our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts [is] his name, the Holy One of Israel.
5 कल्दीकी छोरी, शान्त बस् र अँध्यारोमा जा । किनकि तँलाई कदापि राज्यहरूको रानी भनिनेछैन ।
Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
6 म आफ्ना मानिसहरूसित रिसाएको थिएँ । मैले मेरो उत्तराधिकारलाई अशुद्ध तुल्याएँ र तिनीहरूलाई तेरो हातमा सुम्पें, तर तैंले तिनीहरूलाई कुनै दया देखाइनस् । वृद्ध मानिसहरूमाथि तैंले धेरै गह्रौं जुवा बोकाइस् ।
I was wroth with my people, I have polluted my inheritance, and given them into thy hand: thou didst show them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
7 तैंले भनिस्, “म सदासर्वदा प्रभुत्वशाली रानी भएर राज्य गर्नेछु ।” यी कुराहरूलाई तैंले मनमा राखिनस्, न ती के हुनेछन् भनी तैंले विचार गरिस् ।
And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: [so] that thou didst not lay these [things] to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
8 त्यसैले अब यो कुरा सुन, तिमीहरू जो विलासिता रुचाउँछौ र निष्फिक्रि बस्छौ । तिमीहरू जसले आफ्नो मनमा भन्छौ, “म अस्तित्वमा छु, र मजस्तो त्यहाँ अरू कोही छैन । म कहिल्यै विधवाझैं बस्नेछैन, न छोराछोरी नाश भएको अनुभव म कहिल्यै गर्नेछु ।”
Therefore hear now this, [thou that art] given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thy heart, I [am], and none else besides me; I shall not sit [as] a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
9 तर यी दुई कुराहरू एकै दिनमा एकै छिनमा तँलाई हुनेछन्ः छोराछोरीको नाश र विधवापन । तँसँग मन्त्रतन्त्र, टुनामुना र जन्तरहरू भए पनि ती तँमाथि पुरा शक्किका साथ आउनेछन् ।
But these two [things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection, for the multitude of thy sorceries, [and] for the great abundance of thy enchantments.
10 तैंले आफ्ना दुष्टतामा भरोसा गरिस् । तैंले भनेको छस्, “मलाई कसैले देख्दैन ।” तेरो बुद्धि र तेरो ज्ञानले तँलाई बहकायो तर तैंले आफ्नो मनमा भन्छस्, “म अस्तित्वमा छु, त्यहाँ मजस्तो अरू कोही छैन ।”
For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thy heart, I [am], and none else besides me.
11 तँमाथि विपत्ति आइपर्नेछ । आफ्नो मन्त्रतन्त्रले तैंले त्यो धपाउन सक्नेछैनस् । तँमाथि विनाश आउनेछ । तैंले त्यसलाई तर्काउन सक्नेछैनस् । तैंले थाहा पाउनुअगि नै विपत्तिले तँलाई अचानक प्रहार गर्नेछ ।
Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, [which] thou shalt not know.
12 आफ्नो तन्त्रमन्त्र र आफ्ना धेरै टुनामुनामा निरन्तर लाग्, जसलाई तैंले आफ्नो बाल्यकालदेखि नै विश्वस्ततासाथ उच्चारण गरेको छस् । सायद तँ सफल हुनेछस्, सायद तैंले विपत्तिलाई भगाउनेछस् ।
Stand now with thy enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, in which thou hast labored from thy youth; if thou shalt be able to profit, if thou mayest prevail.
13 तेरा धेरै सल्लाहरूदेखि तँ थाकेको छस् । ती मानिसहरू खडा होऊन् र तँलाई बचाऊन्— तिनीहरू जसले आकाशको मानचित्र बनाउँछन्, र ताराहरू हेर्छन्, जसले औंसीको घोषणा गर्छन्— तँलाई जे हुनेछ सोबाट तिनीहरूले नै तँलाई बचाऊन् ।
Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the star-gazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from [these things] that shall come upon thee.
14 हेर, ती परालको झ्यासझैं हुनेछन् । आगोले तिनलाई जलाउनेछ । ज्वालाको हातबाट तिनीहरूले आफूलाई बचाउनेछैनन् । तिनीहरूलाई न्यानो पर्न कुनै भुङ्ग्रो छैन र तिनीहरूले आगो ताप्नलाई आगो छैन!
Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: [there shall] not [be] a coal to warm at, [nor] fire to sit before it.
15 तेरो निम्ति तिनीहरू यस्तै भएका छन्— जससँग तैंले काम गरेको छस्, अनि तिनीहरूसँग तैंले आफ्नो जवानीखि किनबेच गरेको छस्, तिनीहरू हरेक आ-आफ्नै निर्देशनमा भौंतारिए । तँलाई छुटकारा दिने सक्ने त्यहाँ कोही छैन ।”
Thus shall they be to thee with whom thou hast labored, [even] thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
