यशैया 42

1 हेर, मेरो सेवक, जसलाई म समर्थन गर्छु । मेरो चुनिएको मानिस, जसमा म खुसी हुन्छु । मेरो आत्मा मैले तिनमा हालेको छु । तिनले जातिहरूका माझमा न्याय ल्याउनेछन् ।

Behold, My servant, I take hold on Him, My Chosen One—My soul has accepted, I have put My Spirit on Him, He brings forth judgment to nations.

2 तिनी कराउनेछैनन् न चिच्याउनेछन्, न तिनको आवाज सडकहरूमा सुनाउनेछन् ।

He does not cry, nor lift up, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.

3 तिनले फुटेको निगालोलाई भाँच्‍नेछैनन्, अनि मधुरो बत्तीलाई तिनले निभाउनेछैनन्: तिनले विश्‍वस्‍ततासाथ न्याय गर्नेछन् ।

A bruised reed He does not break, And faded flax He does not quench, He brings forth judgment to truth.

4 पृथ्वीमा तिनले न्याय स्थापित नगरेसम्म तिनी मूर्छा पर्नेछैनन्, न निराश हुनेछन् । अनि समुद्र किनारहरूले तिनको न्यायको आशा गर्छन् ।

He does not become weak nor bruised, Until He sets judgment in the earth, And islands wait with hope for His law.

5 आकाश सृष्‍टि गर्नुहुने र त्यसलाई फिंजाउनुहुने, पृथ्वी र त्यसले उपन्‍न गर्ने सबै थोक बनाउनुहुने, त्‍यसमा मानिसहरूलाई सास दिनुहुने र त्‍यसमा बस्‍नेहरूलाई जीवन दिनुहुने परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छः

Thus said God, YHWH, Creating the heavens, and stretching them out, Spreading out the earth and its productions, Giving breath to the people on it, And spirit to those walking in it.

6 “म परमप्रभुले तिमीलाई धार्मिकतामा बोलाएको छु र तिम्रो हात समात्‍नेछु । म तिमीलाई सुरक्षा दिनेछु र मानिसहरूको निम्ति करारको रूपमा र जतिहरूका निम्ति ज्योतिको रूपमा खडा गर्नेछु,

I, YHWH, called you in righteousness, And I lay hold on your hand, and keep you, And I give you for a covenant of a people, And a light of nations.

7 अन्‍धाहरूका आँखा खोलिदिन, कालकोठरीबाट कैदीहरूलाई छुटकारा दिन र अन्धकारमा बस्‍नेहरूलाई बन्दीगृहबाट छुटकारा दिन ।

To open the eyes of the blind, To bring forth the bound one from prison, Those sitting in darkness from the house of restraint.

8 म परमप्रभु हुँ, मेरो नाउँत्यही हो । म आफ्‍नो महिमा अर्कोलाई दिनेछैन न म आफ्‍नो प्रशंसा मूर्तीहरूलाई दिन्‍छु ।

I [am] YHWH, this [is] My Name, And I do not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to carved images.

9 हेर, पहिलेका कुरा बितेर गए, अब म नयाँ घटनाहरूका घोषणा गर्न लागेको छु । ती सुरु हुनअगि नै तिनका बारेमा म तिमीलाई भन्‍नेछु ।”

The former things, behold, have come, And I am declaring new things, Before they spring up I cause you to hear.

10 परमप्रभुको निम्ति एउटा नयाँ गीत गाओ र पृथ्वीको अन्‍तिम छेउबाट उहाँको प्रशंसा गाओ । तिमीहरू जो तल समुद्रमा जान्छौ, र त्‍यसमा भएका सबैले, समुद्री किनारहरू र त्‍यहाँ बस्‍नेहरूले ।

Sing a new song to YHWH, His praise from the end of the earth, You who are going down to the sea, and its fullness, Islands, and their inhabitants.

11 मरुभूमि र सहरहरूले सोर निकालून्, केदार बसेका गाउँहरू आनन्दले कराऊन्! सेला काबासिन्दाहरूले गाऊन्, पर्वतका चुचुराबाट तिनीहरू कराऊन् ।

The wilderness and its cities lift up [their voice], Kedar inhabits the villages, The inhabitants of Sela sing, They cry from the top of mountains.

12 तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुलाई महिमा दिऊन् र समुद्र किनारहरूमा उहाँको प्रशंसाको घोषणा गरून् ।

They ascribe to YHWH glory, And they declare His praise in the islands.

13 परमप्रभु एउटा युद्धाझैं बाहिर निस्कनुहुनेछ । एक जना योद्धाले झैं उहाँले आफ्नो जोश जगाउनुहुनेछ । उहाँ करानुहुनेछ, हो, उहाँले युद्धाको ध्वनि निकाल्नुहुनेछ । उहाँले आफ्ना शत्रुहरूलाई आफ्नो शक्ति देखाउनुहुनेछ ।

YHWH goes forth as a mighty one. He stirs up zeal as a man of war, He cries, indeed, He shrieks, He shows Himself mighty against His enemies.

14 म लामो समयसम्म चुपचाप बसेको छु । म मौन रहेको छु र आफैंलाई थामेको छु । अब म प्रसव वेदनामा परेको स्‍त्रझैं कराउँछु । म स्वाँ-स्वाँ गर्छु र छिटो-छिटो सास फेर्छु ।

I have kept silent from of old, I keep silent, I refrain Myself, I cry out as a travailing woman, I desolate and swallow up together.

15 म पहाडहरू र पर्वतहरूलाई उजाड पारेर छोड्नेछु र तिनका सबै बोटबिरुवालाई सुख्‍खा बनाउनेछु । अनि नदीहरूलाई टापुहरूमा म परिणत गर्नेछु र सिमसारहरू सुख्‍खा हुनेछन् ।

I make desolate mountains and hills, And I dry up all their herbs, And I have made rivers become islands, And I dry up ponds.

16 अन्‍धाहरूले नचिनेका बाटोद्वारा म तिनीहरूले ल्याउनेछु । तिनीहरूलाई थाहा नभएका बाटोहरूमा म तिनीहरूलाई डोर्‍याउनेछु । तिनीहरूका सामु अन्धकारलाई म उज्यालोमा बद्लनेछु र बाङ्गोटिङ्गो ठाउँहरूलाई सोझो बनाउनेछु । यी कुराहरू म गर्नेछु र म तिनीहरूलाई त्यग्‍नेछैन ।

And I have caused the blind to go, In a way they have not known, I cause them to tread in paths they have not known, I make a dark place become light before them, And unleveled places become a plain, These [are] the things I have done to them, And I have not forsaken them.

17 तिनीहरूलाई फर्काइनेछ, तिनीहरूलाई पुर्ण रूपमा लाजमा पारिनेछ, जसले कुँदिएको आकृतिहरूमा भरोसा गर्छन्, जसले धातुका आकृतिहरूलाई भन्छन्, “तपाईंहरू हाम्रा ईश्‍वरहरू हुनुहुन्छ” ।

Removed backward—utterly ashamed, Are those trusting in a carved image, Those saying to a molten image, “You [are] our gods.”

18 ए बहिरा हो, सुन । अनि अन्धाहरूले हेर, ताकि तिमीहरूले देख्‍न सक ।

You deaf, hear; and you blind, look to see.

19 मेरो सेवकबाहेक को अन्धा छ? वा मैले पठाएको मेरो दूतबहेक को बहिरो छ? मेरो करारको साझेदारजस्तो बहिरो वा परमप्रभुको सेवकजस्तो अन्धा को छ?

Who [is] blind but My servant? And deaf as My messenger I send? Who [is] blind as he who is at peace, Indeed, blind, as the servant of YHWH?

20 तैंले धेरै थोक देख्छस्, तर बुझ्दैनस् । कानहरू खुल्‍ला छन्, तर कसैले सुन्दैन ।

Seeing many things, and you do not observe, Opening ears, and he does not hear.

21 आफ्‍नो न्यायको प्रशंसा गर्न र आफ्‍नो व्यावस्थालाई महिमित पार्न परमप्रभु खुसी हुनुहुन्छ ।

YHWH has delight for the sake of His righteousness, He magnifies law, and makes honorable.

22 तर यिनीहरू ठगिएका र लुटिएका मानिसहरू हुन् । तिनीहरू सबै खल्डाहरूमा जाकिएका, कैदहरूमा राखिएका छन् । तिनीहरू कसैले उद्धार नगर्ने लूटका माल भएका छन् र कसैले यसो भन्‍दैन, “तिनीहरूलाई फिर्ता ल्‍याओ ।”

And this [is] a people seized and spoiled, Snared in holes—all of them, And they were hidden in houses of restraint, They have been for a prey, And there is no deliverer, A spoil, and none is saying, “Restore.”

23 तिमीहरूमध्ये कसले यो सुन्‍नेछ? भविष्यमा कसले सुन्‍नेछ र ध्यान दिनेछ?

Who among you gives ear [to] this? Attends, and hears afterward?

24 याकूबलाई कसले लुटेराको हातमा र इस्राएललाई लुटाहाको हातमा सुम्प्यो? के परमप्रभुले नै होइन, जसको विरुद्धमा हामीले पाप गरेका छौं, जसको बाटोमा हिंड्न तिनीहरू इन्कार गरे र जसको व्यावस्था पालन गर्न तिनीहरूले इन्कार गरे?

Who has given Jacob for a spoil, And Israel to the spoilers? Is it not YHWH—He against whom we sinned? Indeed, they have not been willing to walk in His ways, Nor have they listened to His law.

25 यसकारण उहाँले तिनीहरूमाथि आफ्‍नो डरलग्दो क्रोध र युद्धको हिंसा खन्याउनुभयो, त्‍यसको ज्वालाले तिनीहरूलाई घेर्‍यो, तापनि तिनीहरूले बुझेनन् । त्‍यसले तिनीहरूलाई भस्म पार्‍यो, तर तिनीहरूले त्‍यसलाई मनमा लिएनन् ।

And He pours fury on him, His anger, and the strength of battle, And it sets him on fire all around, And he has not known, And it burns against him, and he does not lay it to heart!
