यशैया 41
1 ए समुद्री किनारहरू, मेरो सामु चुपचाप सुन । जातिहरूले आफ्ना बल नयाँ बनाऊन् । तिनीहरू नजिक आऊन् र बोलून् । एउटा विवादको बारेमा बहस गर्न हामी एकसाथ भेला हौं ।
Be silent [and hearken] unto me, O ye Coastlands, And let the Races of Men renew their strength, —Let them approach, then, let them speak, Together, for controversy, let us draw near: —
2 आफ्नो काम धार्मिकतामा गर्नलाई पुर्वको एक जनालाई बोलाएर कसले उत्तेजित पारेको छ? उहाँले जातिहरूलाई तिनीकहाँ सुम्पनुहुन्छ र राजाहरूलाई अधीन गर्न तिनलाई सहायता गर्नुहुन्छ । आफ्नो धनुको हावाले उडाएको पतकरझैं, तिनले उनीहरूलाई तरवारले जमिनमा ढाल्छन् ।
Who roused up one from the East, In righteousness, called him to his feet, —Set before him nations And over kings, caused him to rule, His sword, made [them] like dust, His bow like driven chaff:
3 तिनले उनीहरूलाई लखेट्छन् र छिटो पुग्ने बाटोद्वारा आफ्ना खुट्टाले जमिन नछोएझैं गरी तिनले सुरक्षित रूपमा भेट्टाउँछन् ।
He pursued them passed along safely, —Upon the path of his own feet, entered he not?
4 कसले यी कामहरू गरेको र पुरा गरेको छ? कसले सुरुदेखिका पुस्ताहरूलाई बलाएको छ? म, परमप्रभु पहिलो र अन्तिम म नै हुँ ।
Who hath wrought and performed, Calling the generations, in advance? I, Yahweh, [who am] First, And with them who are last, I, am the Same!
5 टापुहरूले देखेका छन् र डराएका छन् । पृथ्वीका अन्तिम छेउहरू थरथर काम्छन् । तिनीहरू तयार हुन्छन् र आउँछन् ।
Coastlands have seen, so they fear, The ends of the earth, are in dread, —They have drawn near, and have come:
6 हरेकले आ-आफ्ना छिमेकीलाई सहायता गर्छ र हरेकले एकआपसमा भन्छन्, 'उत्साहित होओ ।'
Every man, to his neighbour, giveth help, —And to his brother, saith Take courage!
7 त्यसैले सिकर्मीले सुनारलाई उत्साह दिन्छ, अनि घन चलाउनेले लिहीमा काम गर्नेलाई 'यो असल छ' भन्दै वेल्डिङ् गर्न उत्साह दिन्छ । तिनीहरूले त्यो काँटीले कस्छन्, ताकि यो नहल्लियोस् ।
So, the carver, hath encouraged, the goldsmith, he that maketh smooth with the hammer, him that smiteth the anvil, —Saying of the welding, It is, good, Then hath he fastened it with nails—it must not totter!
8 तर तँ इस्राएल, मेरो सेवक, याकूब, जसलाई मैले चुनेको छु, मेरो मित्र अब्राहमको सन्तान,
But, thou, Israel, my Servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, —The seed of Abraham my loving one;
9 तँ जसलाई म पृथ्वीको अन्तिम छेउबाट फर्काएर ल्याउँदैछु र जसलाई मैले टाढा ठाउँहरूबाट बोलाएँ, अनि जसलाई मैले भनें, 'तँ मेरो सेवक होस्।' मैले तँलाई चुनेको छु, र तँलाई इन्कार गरेको छैन ।
Thou whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, And from the extremities thereof, have called thee, —And said to thee, My Servant, thou! I have chosen thee and not cast thee off,
10 नडरा, किनकि म तँसँग छु । चिन्तित नहो, किनकि म नै तेरो परमेश्वर हुँ । म तँलाई बलियो बनाउनेछु, र म तँलाई सहायता गर्नेछु, अनि आफ्नो धर्मी दाहिने हातले म तँलाई थाम्नेछु ।
Do not fear, for with thee, I am! Look not around, for, I, am thy God, —I have emboldened thee, Yea I have helped thee, Yea I have upheld thee with my righteous right-hand.
11 हेर, तँसँग रिसाएकाहरू सबै जना, तिनीहरू लज्जित र अपमानित हुनेछन् । तेरो विरोध गर्नेहरू, तिनीहरू बेकामको हुनेछन् र नाश हुनेछन् ।
Lo! they shall turn pale and be ashamed—All they who have been incensed against thee, —They shall become as nothing and perish—The men who have been thine accusers:
12 तँसँग झगडा गर्नेहरूलाई तैंले खोज्नेछस् र पाउनेछैनस् । तँसँग युद्ध गर्नेहरू बेकामको हुनेछन् र पुर्ण रूपमा बेकामको हुनेछन् ।
Thou shalt seek them, but shalt not find them—The men who have contended with thee, They shall become as nothing, and as a thing of nought—The men who have warred against thee;
13 किनकि म, परमप्रभु तेरो परमेश्वरले तेरो दाहिने हात समातेर यसो भन्नेछु, 'नडरा, म तँलाई सहायता गर्दैर्छु ।'
For I, Yahweh thy God am firmly grasping thy right-hand, —Who am saying unto thee Do not fear! I, have become thy helper!
14 नडरा, ए किरा याकूब र इस्राएलका मानिसहरू, तँलाई म सहायात गर्नेछु— यो परमप्रभु, तिमीहरूका उद्धारक, इस्राएलका परमपवित्रको घोषणा हो ।
Do not fear, Thou worm Jacob, Ye men of Israel, —I, have become thy helper, Declareth Yahweh, And thy redeemer The Holy One of Israel.
15 हेर्, म तँलाई नयाँ र दुई धारहरू भएको एउटा अन्न कुट्ने हतियार बनाउँदैछु । तैंले पहाडहरूलाई कुट्नेछस् र तिनीहरूलाई कुल्चनेछस् । तैंले डाँडाहरूलाई भुसजस्तै बनाउनेछस् ।
Lo! I have made of thee a new pointed threshing sledge, owning teeth, —Thou shalt thresh mountains and crush them, And, hills—like chaff, shalt thou make:
16 तैंले तिनीहरूलाई निफन्नेछस् र हावाले तिनीहरूलाई उडाएर लानेछ । हावाले तिनीहरूलाई तितरबितर पार्नेछ । तँ परमप्रभुमा रमाउनेछस्, इस्राएका परमपवित्रमा तँ आनन्दित हुनेछस् ।
Thou shalt fan them and, a wind, shall carry them away, And, a whirlwind, scatter, them, —But, thou, shalt exult in Yahweh, And, in the Holy One of Israel, shalt thou boast thyself.
17 अत्यचारमा परेका र खाँचोमा परेकाहरूले पानी खोज्नेछन्, तर त्यहाँ हुनेछैन, अनि तिर्खाले गर्दा तिनीहरूको जिब्रो सुक्खा हुन्छन् । म, परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूको प्रार्थनाको जवाफ दिनेछु । म, इस्राएलका परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई त्याग्नेछैन ।
As for the oppressed and the needy. Seeking water when there is none, Their tongue with thirst being parched I—Yahweh, will answer them, The God of Israel, I will not forsake them:
18 ठाडो भिरमा म खोला बगाउनेछु र मैदानको माझमा मुल फुटाउनेछु । मरुभूमीमा पानीको तलाउ र सुख्खा जमिनमा पानीको मुल म बनाउनेछु ।
I will open, On bare hills rivers, and In the midst of plains, fountains, —I will make The desert, a lake of water, and Parched land, springs of water;
19 उजाड-स्थानमा म देवदारु, बबुल, मेंहदी र जैतूनको रूख रोप्नेछु । मैले धूपी र सल्लालाई उजाड मैदानमा म खडा गर्नेछु ।
I will set in the desert! Cedar, acacia, and myrtle, and oil-tree, —I will place, in the waste plain, Cypress, holm-oak, and sherbin-cedar, together
20 परमप्रभुको हातले नै यसो गरेको छ, इस्राएलको परमपवित्रले नै यसलाई सृजनुभएको छ, भनेर मानिसहरूले हेरून्, चिनून् अनि बुझून् भन्ने उदेश्यले म यो गर्नेछु ।
That men may see and observe and consider and understand at once, That, the hand of Yahweh, hath done this, That the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
21 परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, “तेरो मुद्दा पेस गर् ।” याकूबका राजा भन्नुहुन्छ, “तेरा मूर्तीहरूका निम्ति तेरा उत्तम बहसहरू पेस गर् ।”
Bring near your contention, Saith Yahweh, —Advance your defences, Saith the King of Jacob:
22 तिनीहरूले आ-आफ्ना बहसहरू ल्याऊन् । तिनीहरू अघि आऊन् र के हुनेछ भनी बताऊन्, ताकि हामीले यी कुराहरू राम्ररी जान्न सक्छौं । तिनीहरूले हामीलाई सुरुका अगमवाणीका कुराहरू भनून्, ताकि हामीले तिनमा विचार गरौं र ती कसरी पुरा भए जानौं ।
Let them advance them, and tell us, What shall happen, —Things known in advance—what they were, tell ye, That we may lay them to our heart and mark the after-story of them, Or, things yet to come, let us hear:
23 भविष्यको बारेमा कुराहरू भन, ताकि तिमीहरू देवहरू हौ भनी हामी जान्न सकौं । कुनै असल वा खराब गर, ताकि हामी डराऔं वा प्रभावित बनौं ।
Tell ye the events which shall be here-after, That we may perceive that gods, ye are, —Surely ye must do something—good or bad, That we may be amazed and behold it, at once.
24 हेर्, मूर्तीहरू केही पनि होइनन्, र तिमीहरूका कामहरू केही पनि होइनन् । तिमीहरूलाई रोज्ने मानिस घृणित हुन्छ ।
Lo! ye, are, of nought, And your work is a puff of breath, —An abomination, he that chooseth you!
25 उत्तरबाट मैले एक जनालाई खडा गरेको छु, र त्यो आउँछ । सुर्य उदय हुने दिशाबाट त्यसलाई म बोलाउँछु, जसले मेरो नाउँ पुकार्छ, अनि हिलोलाई झैं, माटोलाई कुल्चने कुमालेले झैं त्यसले शासकहरूलाई कुल्चनेछ ।
I have roused up one from the North, and he hath come, From the rising of the sun, calleth he on my Name, —And he hath come, on deputies, as though they were mortar, And as a potter treadeth clay.
26 यसलाई कसले सुरुदेखि नै घोषणा गर्यौ, ताकि हामीले जान्न सकौं? “उहाँ ठिक हुनुहुन्छ” भनी हामीले भन्नुभन्दा पहिले? वास्तवमा, तिनीहरू कसैले पनि यो घोषणा गरेनन्, हो, तिमीहरूले कुनै कुरा भनेको कसैले पनि सुनेन ।
Who hath told in advance, that we might know, And beforetime, that we might say Right! Nay, there is none who can tell. Nay, there is none who can let us hear, Nay, there is none who can understand what ye utter.
27 मैले पहिले सियोनलाई भनें, “हेर, तिनीहरू यहाँ छन् ।” मैले यरूशलेममा एक जना दूतलाई पठाएँ ।
He who is First, [can say], To Zion, Lo! there they are! And to Jerusalem, A herald of good-tidings, do I give.
28 मैले हेर्दा त्यहाँ कोही पनि छैन, असल सल्लाह दिने तिनीहरूका माझमा कोही पनि छैन । मैले सोध्दा एक शब्द जवाफ दिने कोही छैन ।
So I look, And there is not, a Man! Even among these And there is none to advise, —That, when I ask them, can answer a word.
29 हेर, ती सबै केही पनि होइनन्, अनि तिनीहरूका कामहरू केही पनि होइनन् । तिनीहरूका ढालेका धातुका आकृतिहरू हावा र रित्ता हुन् ।
Lo! as to all of them, Vanity—nothingness, are their works, Wind and emptiness, their molten images!
