यशैया 31
1 सहायताको निम्ति मिश्रदेशमा जाने, घोडाहरूमा भर पर्ने र रथहरूमा (किनकि ती धेरै छन्) र घोडचढीहरूमा (किनकि ती असंख्य छ्न्) भरोसा गर्नेहरूलाई धिक्कार! तर तिनीहरूले इस्राएलका परमपवित्रको वास्ता गर्दैनन्, न तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुको खोजी नै गर्छन् ।
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, who trust in horses and chariots, for they are many; and in horses, [which are] a great multitude; and have not trusted in the Holy One of Israel, and have not sought the Lord.
2 तापनि उहाँ बुद्धिमान् हुनुहुन्छ, उहाँले विपत्ति ल्याउनुहुनेछ र आफ्नो वचनबाट उहाँ पछि हट्नुहुनेछैन । उहाँ दुष्ट घराना र पाप गर्न सहायता गर्नेहरूका विरुद्धमा उठ्नुहुनेछ ।
Therefore he has wisely brought evils upon them, and his word shall not be frustrated; and he shall rise up against the houses of wicked men, and against their vain hope,
3 मिश्रदेश मानिस हो र परमेश्वर होइन, तिनीहरूका घोडाहरू शरीर हुन् आत्मा होइनन् । जब परमप्रभुले आफ्नो हात पसार्नुहुन्छ, सहायता गर्नेले ठेस खानेछ र सहायता पाउनेचाहिं ढल्नेछ । दुवै एकसाथ नाश हुनेछन् ।
[even] an Egyptian, a man, and not God; the flesh of horses, and there is no help [in them]: but the Lord shall bring his hand upon them, and the helpers shall fail, and all shall perish together.
4 परमप्रभुले मलाई यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “गोठालाहरूका समूह आफ्नो विरुद्धमा आउँदा पनि जसरी सिंह अर्थात् जवान सिंह आफ्नो शिकारमाथि गर्जेर झम्टन्छ तर तिनीहरूका सोर सुनेर डराउँदैन, न तिनीहरूका सोर सुनेर भाग्छ, त्यसरी नै सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु सियोन पर्वतमा अर्थात् त्यो पहाडमा लडाइँ गर्न ओर्लनुहुनेछ ।
For thus said the Lord to me, As a lion would roar, or a lion's whelp over prey which he has taken, and cry over it, until the mountains are filled with his voice, and [the animals] are awe-struck and tremble at the fierceness of his wrath: so the Lord of hosts shall descend to fight upon the mount Sion, [even] upon her mountains.
5 गुँडको रक्षा गर्ने चराले झैं परमप्रभुले यरूशलेमको रक्षा गर्नुहुनेछ । उहाँ यसबाट भएर जानुहुँदा यसको सुरक्षा गर्नुहुनेछ र छुटकारा दिनुहुनेछ र यसको संरक्षण गर्नुहुनेछ ।
As birds flying, so shall the Lord of hosts defend; he shall defend Jerusalem, and he shall rescue, and save and deliver.
6 ए इस्राएलका मानिस हो, तिमीहरू जसबाट तर्किएका थियौ, उहाँतिर नै फर्क ।
Turn, ye children of Israel, who devise a deep and sinful counsel.
7 किनकि त्यो दिनमा तिमीहरूका आफ्नै हातले पापपुर्ण किसिमले बनाएका चाँदीका मूर्तीहरू र सुनका मूर्तीहरूबाट प्रत्येक व्यक्ति मुक्त हुनेछ ।
For in that day men shall renounce their silver idols and [their] golden idols, which their hands made.
8 अश्शूर तरवारले ढल्नेछ । मानिसले नचालाएको तरवारद्वारा त्यो नाश हुनेछ । त्यो तरवारबाट भाग्नेछ र त्यसका जवान मानिसहरूलाई सित्तैंका काम गर्न लगाइनेछ ।
And the Assyrian shall fall: not the sword of a great man, nor the sword of a mean man shall devour him; neither shall he flee from the face of the sword: but the young men shall be overthrown:
9 त्रासको कारणले तिनीहरूले सबै दृढता गुमाउनेछन् र परमप्रभुको युद्धको झन्डा देखेर त्यसका शासकहरू डराउनेछन्— यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो— जसको आगो सियोनमा छ र जसको मकल यरूशलेममा छ ।”
for they shall be compassed with rocks as with a trench, and shall be worsted; and he that flees shall be taken. Thus saith the Lord, Blesses is he that has a seed in Sion, and household friends in Jerusalem.
