यशैया 3
1 हेर, सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुले यरूशलेम र यहूदाबाट, टेवा र लट्टी: अर्थात् रोटीको सारा आफुर्ती र पानीको सारा आपुर्ती,
For, behold, the Lord, the Eternal of hosts, doth remove from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, every stay of bread, and every stay of water.
2 वीर मानिसहरू र योद्धाहरू, न्यायकर्ता र अगमवक्ता, जोखना हेर्नेहरू र धर्मगुरुहरू,
The hero, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3 पचास जनाका कप्तानहरू र आदरणिय नागरिक, सल्लाहकारहरू, सिपालु कारीगरहरू र निपुण जादूगरहरू हटाउन लाग्नुभएको छ ।
The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the skilful artificer, and the eloquent orator.
4 “युवाहरूलाई मात्र म तिनीहरूका अगुवाहरूको बनाउनेछु र जवानहरूले तिनीहरूमाथि शासन गर्नेछन् ।
And I will set up boys as their princes, and children shall rule over them.
5 हरेक मानिस एउटाले अर्कोलाई, हरेक आफ्नै छिमेकीद्वरा मानिसहरूले अत्याचार गर्नेछन् । बालकले वृद्धको अपमान गर्नेछ र तुच्छले आदरणियलाई चुनौति दिनेछ ।
And so shall the people press man against man, and one against the other: the boy shall demean himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable.
6 एक जना मानिसले आफ्नै बुबाको घरमा आफ्नै दाजुलाई समातेर यसो भन्ने छ, 'तिमीसँग कोट छ । हाम्रो शासक होऊ, र यो विनाश जिम्मा तिमीले लेऊ ।'
When a man will seize hold on his brother in the house of his father, [saying, ] Thou hast a garment, thou shalt be our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7 त्यो दिनमा ऊ चिच्याउनेछ र भन्नेछ, 'म निको पार्ने हुनेछैन । मसँग रोटी वा लुगा छैन । तिमीहरूले मलाई मानिसहरूका शासक बनाउनेछैनौ' ।”
He will swear on that day, saying, I will not be a chief; and in my house is neither bread nor clothing; you shall not appoint me a ruler of the people.
8 किनकि यरूशलेमले ठेस खाएको छ र यहूदा ढलेको छ, किनभने तिनीहरूका बोलिवचन र कामहरू परमप्रभुको विरुद्धमा छन्, उहाँको महिमाको दृष्टिको विरोध गर्छन् ।
For Jerusalem is sunk to decay, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to incense the eyes of his glory.
9 तिनीहरूका विरुद्धको गवाहीहरू तिनीहरूकै अनुहारहरूमा खोज्नुहोस् । अनि सदोमले झैं तिनीहरूले आफ्ना पाप भन्नेछन् । तिनीहरूले त्यो लुकाउने छैनन् । तिनीहरूलाई धिक्कार! किनकि तिनीहरूले आफ्नै निम्ति सर्वनाश पुरा गरेका छन् ।
The boldness of their face testifieth against them; and like Sodom they tell openly their sin, they conceal it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have prepared evil unto themselves.
10 धर्मी मानिसलाई राम्रो हुनेछ भन, किनकि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना कामहरूका फल खानेछन् ।
Say ye to the righteous, that he hath done well; for the fruit of their doings shall they eat.
11 दुष्टलाई धिक्कार! उसलाई खराब हुनेछ, किनकि उहाँको हातको बदला उसैमाथि पर्नेछ ।
Woe unto the wicked who doeth evil; for the recompense of his hands shall be bestowed on him.
12 मेरा मानिसहरू—बालबालिका तिनीहरूका अत्याचारी हुन् र स्त्रीहरूले तिनीहरूमाथि शासन गर्नेछन् । मेरा मानिसहरू, तँलाई अगुवाइ गर्नेहरूले तँलाई भड्काउनेछन् र तेरा मार्ग कता जाने भन्ने कुरा नै अलमलमा पार्नेछन् ।
My people! their oppressors are children, and women rule over them. O my people! thy leaders cause thee to err, and the direction of thy paths they corrupt.
13 दोष लगाउनलाई परमप्रभु खडा हुनुहुन्छ । मानिसहरूलाई दोष लगाउन उहाँ खडा हुनुहुन्छ ।
The Lord is stepped forth to plead, and standeth up to judge the people.
14 आफ्ना मानिसहरूका धर्मगुरुहरू र तिनीहरूका अगुवाहरू विरुद्ध परमप्रभु न्याय लिएर आउनुहुनेछः “तिमीहरूले दाखबारी विनाश पारेका छौ । गरीबलाई लुटेको माल तिमीहरूका घरहरूमा छन् ।
The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and their princes; but ye—ye have eaten up the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.
15 तिमीहरूले मेरा मानिसहरूलाई किन कुल्चन्छौ र गरिबहरूको अनुहारहरू किन पिस्छौ?” यो सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
What mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind down the faces of the poor? saith the Lord the Eternal of hosts.
16 परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, सियोनकी छोरीहरू घमण्डी छन्, तिनीहरू मुण्टो ठाडो पार्दै, चञ्चले आँखाले, हिंड्दा छोटो-छोटो पाइला सारेर, तिनीहरूका गोडामा भएका पाउजुका छिन्छिन् आवाज निकाल्दै हिंड्छन् ।
And the Lord said, Forasmuch as the daughters of Zion are proud, and walk with stretched forth necks and casting about their eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17 यसकारण परमप्रभुले सियोनकी छोरीहरूका टाउकोमा घावै-घाउ पार्नुहुनेछ, र परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई मुडुलो पार्नुहुनेछ ।
Therefore will the Lord smite with leprosy the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay open their nakedness.
18 त्यो दिन परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूका सुन्दर पाउजुहरू, शिरबन्दीहरू, चन्द्रहारहरू,
On that day will the Lord take away the beauty of their tinkling shoe-buckles, and the hair-nets, and the crescent-shaped ornaments,
19 कुण्डलहरू, बालाहरू, झुम्काहरू,
The drops, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20 शिर ढाक्नेहरू, कल्लीहरू, पटुकाहरू, अत्तरदानीहरू, जन्तरहरू,
The bonnets, and the foot-chains, and the head-bands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21 औंठीहरू, नत्थहरू,
The finger-rings, and nose-jewels,
22 चाडका वस्त्रहरू, पछ्यौराहरू, घुम्टोहरू, हाते-ब्यागहरू,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the pockets.
23 हाते-ऐनाहरू, मसिनो मलमल, शिरफुलहरू र मजेत्रोहरू हटाउनुहुनेछ ।
The mirrors, and the chemisettes, and the turbans, and the long vails.
24 सुगन्धित अत्तरको सट्टामा दूर्गन्ध हुनेछ । अनि पटुकाको सट्टामा डोरी हुनेछ । राम्ररी कोरेको कपालको सट्टामा मुडुलो हुनेछ । अनि पोशाकको सट्टामा भाङ्ग्राको लुगा हुनेछ । र सुन्दरताको सट्टामा डामै-डाम हुनेछ ।
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be corruption; and instead of a girdle a rope; and instead of curled hair baldness; and instead of a wide garment a girding of sackcloth, a mark of burning instead of beauty.
25 तेरा मानिसहरू तरवारले मारिनेछन् र तेरा बलिया मानिसहरू युद्धमा ढल्नेछन् ।
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty ones in the war.
26 यरूशलेमका ढोकाहरूले विलाप र विलौना गर्नेछन् । अनि त्यो एक्लो हुनेछ र भूइँमा बस्नेछ ।
And then shall her gates lament and mourn; and stript of all shall she sit upon the ground.
