यशैया 17
1 दमस्कसको बारेमा एउटा घोषणा ।
THE WORD AGAINST DAMASCUS. Behold, Damascus shall be taken away from amongst cities, and shall become a ruin;
2 अरोएरका सहरहरूलाई त्यागिनेछ । तिनीहरू बथानहरू बस्ने ठाउँहरू हुनेछन् र तिनीहरूलाई कसैले पनि तर्साउनेछैन ।
abandoned for ever, to [be] a fold and resting-place for flocks, and there shall be none to go after them.
3 किल्लाबन्दी गरिएका सहरहरू एफ्राइमबाट, दमस्कसको राज्यबाट लोप हुनेछन्, र अरामका बाँकी रहेकाहरू—तिनीहरू इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको गौरवझैं हुनेछन्— यो सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।
And she shall no longer be a strong place for Ephraim to flee to, and there shall no longer be a kingdom in Damascus, or a remnant of Syrians; for you are no better than the children of Israel, [even] than their glory; thus says the Lord of hosts.
4 त्यो दिनमा यस्तो हुनेछ, याकूबको गौरव दुब्लो हुनेछ र त्यसको शरीरको मोटाइ पातलो हुनेछ ।
There shall be in that day a failure of the glory of Jacob, and the riches of his glory shall be shaken.
5 यो अन्न जम्मा गर्नेले अन्न थुपारेजस्तो हुनेछ, र त्यसका हातहरूले अन्न कटानी गर्छ । यो रपाईको बेसीमा शिला-बाला बटुलेजस्तो हुनेछ ।
And it shall be as if one should gather standing corn, and reap the grain of the ears; and it shall be as if one should gather ears in a rich valley;
6 जैतूनको रुखलाई हल्लाए जसरी पनि शिलाहरू छोडिनेछन्: माथिल्लो हाँगामा दुइ-तिन वटा वा फलको सबभन्दा अग्लो हाँगाहरूमा चार-पाँच वटा जैतून छोडिन्छन्— यो परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वरको घोषणा हो ।
and [as if] there should be left stubble therein, or [as it were] the berries of an olive tree, two or three on the topmost bough, or [as if] four or five should be left on their branches; thus says the Lord, the God of Israel.
7 त्यस दिन मानिसहरूले आफ्ना सृष्टिकर्तालाई हेर्नेछन् र तिनीहरूका आँखाले इस्राएलका पवित्रलाई हेर्नेछन् ।
In that day a man shall trust in him that made him, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
8 तिनीहरूले आफ्नो हातका कामहरू अर्थात् वेदीहरूतिर हेर्नेछैनन्, न त तिनीहरूले आफ्नै औंलाले बनाएका अशेराका खम्बाहरू न सूर्यका प्रतिमाहरूलाई नै हेर्नेछन् ।
And they shall not at all trust in their altars, nor in the works of their hands, which their fingers made; and they shall not look to the trees, nor to their abominations.
9 त्यस दिन तिनीहरूका बलिया सहरहरू डाँडाका टाकुराहरूका भिरहरूमा त्यगिएका जङ्गलजस्तै हुनेछन्, जसलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका कारणले त्यागिएका थिए र त्यो उजाड हुनेछ ।
In that day your cities shall be deserted, as the Amorites and the Evaeans deserted [theirs], because of the children of Israel; and they shall be desolate.
10 किनकि तैंले आफ्नो मुक्तिको परमेश्वरलाई बिर्सेको छस् र तेरो सामर्थ्यको चट्टानलाई बेवास्ता गरेको छस् । त्यसैले तैंले सुन्दर बिरुवाहरू रोपिस् र विदेशीबाट पाएको दाखका हाँगाहरू रोपिस्,
Because you have forsaken God your Saviour, and have not been mindful of the Lord your helper; therefore shall you plant a false plant, and a false seed.
11 तैंले रोपेको, बार लगाएको र खेती गरेको दिनमा । तेरा बीउहरू चाँडै वृद्धि हुनेछन्, तर कष्ट र घोर दुखको दिनमा फल दिनेछैन ।
In the day wherein you shall plant you shall be deceived; but if you sow in the morning, [the seed] shall spring up for a crop in the day wherein you shall obtain an inheritance, and as a man's father, you shall obtain an inheritance for your sons.
12 धिक्कार! धेरै मानिसहरूको गर्जन, जुन समुद्रहरूको गर्जन, र जातिहरूका हल्लाझैं गर्जन्छ, जुन शक्तिशाली पानी बगेझैं बग्छ!
Woe [to] the multitude of many nations, as the swelling sea, so shall you be confounded; and the force of many nations shall sound like water;
13 जातिहरू धेरै पानी बगेझैं गर्जन्छन्, तर उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई हप्काउनुहुनेछ र तिनीहरू टाढा भाग्नेछन्, डाँडाहरूमाथि भुसझैं तिनीहरू हावाको सामु उड्नेछन् र आँधीको सामु मडारिएको झारझैं हुनेछन् ।
many nations like much water, as when much water rushes violently: and they shall drive him away, and pursue him afar, as the dust of chaff when men winnow before the wind, and as a storm whirling the dust of the wheel.
14 हेर, साँझमा त्रास! बिहान हुनअगि ती बितिजानेछन्! हामीलाई लूट्नेहरू, हामीलाई डकैती गर्नेहरूको भाग यस्तै हुनेछ ।
Towards evening, and there shall be grief; before the morning, and he shall not be. This is the portion of them that spoiled you, and the inheritance to them that robbed you of your inheritance.
