उत्पत्ति 30
1 आफूले याकूबबाट कुनै सन्तान नजन्माएको देखेर राहेलले आफ्नी दिदीको डाह गरिन् । उनले याकूबलाई भनिन्, “मलाई सन्तान दिनुहोस्, नत्रभने म मर्नेछु ।”
When Rachel [Ewe sheep] saw that she bore Jacob [Supplanter] no children, Rachel [Ewe sheep] envied her sister. She said to Jacob [Supplanter], “Give me children, or else I will die.”
2 राहेलमाथि याकूबको क्रोध दन्कियो । तिनले भने, “के तिमीलाई सन्तान दिनबाट रोक्नु हुने म परमेश्वरको स्थानमा छु र?
Jacob [Supplanter]’s anger burned against Rachel [Ewe sheep], and he said, “Am I in God’s place, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”
3 उनले भनिन्, “हेर्नुहोस्, मेरी कमारी बिल्हा यहीँ छे । त्योसित सहवास गर्नुहोस् ताकि त्यसले मेरो निम्ति सन्तान जन्माउन सकोस्, र त्यसद्वारा मसित सन्तान हुनेछ ।”
She said, “Behold, my maid Bilhah [Bashful]. Go in to her, that she may bear on my knees, and I also may obtain children by her.”
4 त्यसैले उनले आफ्नी कमारी बिल्हा याकूबकी पत्नी हुनलाई दिइन्, र याकूब त्यससित सुते ।
She gave him Bilhah [Bashful] her servant as wife, and Jacob [Supplanter] went in to her.
5 बिल्हा गर्भवती भई र त्यसले याकूबको निम्ति एउटा छोरो जन्माई ।
Bilhah [Bashful] conceived, and bore Jacob [Supplanter] a son.
6 त्यसपछि राहेलले भनिन्, “परमेश्वरले मेरो पक्षमा न्याय गर्नुभएको छ । उहाँले मेरो प्रार्थना सुन्नुभई मलाई एउटा छोरो दिनुभएको छ ।” त्यसैले उनले त्यसको नाउँ दान राखिन् ।
Rachel [Ewe sheep] said, “God has judged me, and has also sh'ma ·heard obeyed· my voice, and has given me a son.” Therefore called she his name Dan [He judged].
7 राहेलकी कमारी बिल्हा फेरि गर्भवती भई र त्यसले याकूबको निम्ति दोस्रो छोरो जन्माई ।
Bilhah [Bashful], Rachel [Ewe sheep]’s servant, conceived again, and bore Jacob [Supplanter] a second son.
8 राहेलले भनिन्, “निकै सङ्घर्ष गरेर मैले मेरी दिदीमाथि जित हासिल गरेको छु ।” उनले त्यसको नाउँ नप्ताली राखिन् ।
Rachel [Ewe sheep] said, “With mighty wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and have prevailed.” She named him Naphtali [My wrestling].
9 आफूले बच्ची जन्माउन छोडेकी देखेर उनले आफ्नी कमारी जिल्पा याकूबकी पत्नी हुनलाई दिइन् ।
When Leah [Weary] saw that she had finished bearing, she took Zilpah [Frailty], her servant, and gave her to Jacob [Supplanter] as a wife.
10 लेआकी कमारी जिल्पाले याकूबको निम्ति एउटा छोरो जन्माई ।
Zilpah [Frailty], Leah [Weary]’s servant, bore Jacob [Supplanter] a son.
11 लेआले भनिन्, “भाग्यमानी!” त्यसैले उनले त्यसको नाउँ गाद राखिन् ।
Leah [Weary] said, “How fortunate!” She named him Gad [Good fortune].
12 त्यसपछि लेआकी कमारी जिल्पाले दोस्रो छोरो जन्माई ।
Zilpah [Frailty], Leah [Weary]’s servant, bore Jacob [Supplanter] a second son.
13 लेआले भनिन्, “म सुखी छु । किनकि स्त्रीहरूले मलाई सुखी भन्ने छन् ।” त्यसैले उनले त्यसको नाउँ आशेर राखिन् ।
Leah [Weary] said, “Happy am I, for the daughters will call me happy.” She named him Asher [Happy].
14 गहुँ कटनी गर्ने समयमा रूबेन खेतमा गए, र तिनले विशाखमूलहरू भेट्टाएर ती आफ्नी आमा लेआकहाँ लिएर आए । त्यसपछि राहेलले लेआलाई भनिन्, “तिम्रो छोराका केही विशाखमूलहरू मलाई देऊ ।”
Reuben [See, a son!] went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother, Leah [Weary]. Then Rachel [Ewe sheep] said to Leah [Weary], “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”
15 लेआले उनलाई भनिन्, “के तिमीले मेरा पति मबाट लैजानु सामान्य विषय हो र? अब तिमी मेरो छोराका विशाखमूलहरू पनि लिन चाहन्छ्यौ? राहेलले भनिन्, “त्यसो भए, तिम्रो छोराका विशाखमूलहरूको सट्टामा आज राति तिनी तिमीसितै सुत्नेछन् ।”
She said to her, “Is it a small matter that you have taken away my husband? Would you take away my son’s mandrakes, also?” Rachel [Ewe sheep] said, “Therefore he will lie with you tonight for your son’s mandrakes.”
16 साँझमा याकूब खेतबाट आए । लेआ तिनलाई भेट्न गइन् र भनिन्, “आज राती तपाईं मसित सुत्नुपर्छ किनकि मैले तपाईंलाई मेरो छोराका विशाखमूलहरू दिएर भाडामा लिएको छु ।” त्यसैले त्यस रात याकूब उनीसित सुते ।
Jacob [Supplanter] came from the field in the evening, and Leah [Weary] went out to meet him, and said, “You must come in to me; for I have surely hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” He lay with her that night.
17 परमेश्वरले लेआको पुकारा सुन्नुभयो, र उनी गर्भवती भएर याकूबको निम्ति पाँचौँ छोरो जन्माइन् ।
God sh'ma ·heard obeyed· to Leah [Weary], and she conceived, and bore Jacob [Supplanter] a fifth son.
18 लेआले भनिन्, “परमेश्वरले मेरो ज्याला दिनुभएको छ किनभने मैले मेरी कमारी मेरा पतिलाई दिएँ ।” उनले त्यसको नाउँ इस्साखार राखिन् ।
Leah [Weary] said, “God has given me my hire, because I gave my servant to my husband.” She named him Issachar [Hire, Reward].
19 लेआ फेरि गर्भवती भइन् र उनले याकूबको निम्ति छैटौँ छोरो जन्माइन् ।
Leah [Weary] conceived again, and bore a sixth son to Jacob [Supplanter].
20 लेआले भनिन्, “परमेश्वरले मलाई अनमोल उपहार दिनुभएको छ । अब मेरा पतिले मलाई इज्जत गर्नुहुनेछ किनभने मैले उहाँका निम्ति छवटा छोरा जन्माएँ ।” उनले त्यसको नाउँ जबूलून राखिन् ।
Leah [Weary] said, “God has endowed me with a good dowry. Now my husband will live with me, because I have borne him six sons.” She named him Zebulun [Living together].
21 त्यसपछि उनले एउटी छोरी जन्माइन् र त्यसको नाउँ दीना राखिन् ।
Afterwards, she bore a daughter, and named her Dinah.
22 परमेश्वरले राहेललाई याद गर्नुभयो र उनको पुकारा सुन्नुभयो । उहाँले उनको गर्भ खोलिदिनुभयो ।
God remembered Rachel [Ewe sheep], and God sh'ma ·heard obeyed· to her, and opened her womb.
23 उनी गर्भवती भइन् र एउटा छोरो जन्माइन् । उनले भनिन्, “परमेश्वरले मेरो लाज हटाइदिनुभएको छ ।”
She conceived, bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.”
24 उनले यसो भन्दै त्यसको नाउँ योसेफ राखिन्, “परमप्रभुले मलाई अर्को छोरो दिनुभएको छ ।”
She named him Joseph [May he add], saying, “May Adonai add another son to me.”
25 राहेलले योसेफलाई जन्माएपछि याकूबले लाबानलाई भने, “मलाई बिदा दिनुहोस्, ताकि म मेरो आफ्नै घर र मेरो देशमा जान सकूँ ।
When Rachel [Ewe sheep] had borne Joseph [May he add], Jacob [Supplanter] said to Laban [White], “Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my country.
26 मलाई मेरा पत्नीहरू र मेरा छोराछोरीहरू दिनुहोस् जसको निम्ति मैले तपाईंको सेवा गरेको छु । मलाई जान दिनुहोस् किनकि मैले तपाईंको सेवा गरेको त तपाईंलाई थाहै छ ।”
Give me my wives and my children for whom I have served you, and let me go; for you know my service with which I have served you.”
27 लाबानले तिनलाई भने, “मैले तिम्रो दृष्टिमा निगाह पाएको छु भने पर्ख, किनभने पूर्वलक्षणको प्रयोगद्वारा मैले थाहा पाएको छु, कि तिम्रो कारणले गर्दा परमप्रभुले मलाई आशिष् दिनुभएको छ ।
Laban [White] said to him, “If now I have found chen ·grace· in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that Adonai has blessed me for your sake.”
28 त्यसपछि तिनले भने, “तिम्रो ज्याला कति भयो, मलाई भन । म तिरिदिनेछु ।”
He said, “Appoint me your wages, and I will give it.”
29 याकूबले लाबानलाई भने, “मैले तपाईंको कस्तो सेवा गरेको छु र तपाईंका गाईबस्तु कसरी सप्रेका छन् भनी तपाईं जान्नुहुन्छ ।
He said to him, “You know how I have served you, and how your livestock have fared with me.
30 म आउनुअगि तपाईंसित थोरै मात्र थियो तर अहिले प्रचुर मात्रामा वृद्धि भएका छन् । मैले जहाँसुकै काम गरे तापनि परमप्रभुले तपाईंलाई आशिष् दिनुभएको छ । अब मेरो आफ्नै घरानाको निम्तिचाहिँ मैले कहिले बन्दोवस्त गर्ने?”
For it was little which you had before I came, and it has increased to a multitude. Adonai has blessed you wherever I turned. Now when will I provide for my own house also?”
31 त्यसैले लाबानले भने, “म तिमीलाई के दिऊँ?” याकूबले भने, “तपाईंले मलाई केही पनि दिनुपर्दैन । तपाईंले मलाई केही दिनुभयो भने मैले फेरि तपाईंको बगाललाई खुवाउनुपर्ने हुन्छ र यसको हेरचाह गर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ ।
He said, “What shall I give you?” Jacob [Supplanter] said, “You shall not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it.
32 आज मलाई तपाईंको बगालबाट थुमाहरूका बिचमा हरेक थोप्ले, हरेक पेटारे र हरेक कालो अनि बाख्राहरूका बिचमा पनि हरेक थोप्ले र पेटारे छुट्ट्याउन दिनुहोस् । यी मेरा ज्याला हुनेछन् ।
I will pass through all your flock today, removing from there every speckled and spotted one, and every black one among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats. This will be my hire.
33 तपाईं मेरा ज्यालाको हिसाब गर्न आउनुहुँदा पछि मेरो सत्यनिष्ठाले नै मेरो गवाही दिनेछ । बाख्राहरूका बिचमा थोप्ले र पेटारे नभएको अनि थुमाहरूका बिचमा कालो नभएको मध्ये कुनै फेला पारियो भने ती मैले चोरेको ठहरिनेछ ।”
So my righteousness will answer for me hereafter, when you come concerning my hire that is before you. Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and black among the sheep, that might be with me, will be considered stolen.”
34 लाबानले भने, “हुन्छ । तिम्रो वचनअनुसार नै होस् ।”
Laban [White] said, “Behold, let it be according to your word.”
35 त्यस दिन लाबानले थोप्ले र पेटारे बाख्राहरू अनि सेतो दाग भएका सबै थोप्ले र पेटारे बाख्रीहरू अनि थुमाहरूका बिचमा भएका सबै काला थुमाहरू छुट्ट्याए र ती आफ्ना छोराहरूलाई दिए ।
That day, he removed the male goats that were streaked and spotted, and all the female goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the black ones among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.
36 लाबानले तिनी र याकूबको बिचमा तिन दिनको यात्राको अन्तर पनि राखे । त्यसैले याकूबले लाबानका बाँकी बगालहरू चराइरहे ।
He set three days’ journey between himself and Jacob [Supplanter], and Jacob [Supplanter] fed the rest of Laban [White]’s flocks.
37 याकूबले ताजा लहरे-पीपल, हाडे बदाम र चिनारका रुखका भर्खरै काटिएका हाँगाहरू लिए, र तिनमा सेतो धर्का बनाउनलाई बोक्राहरू ताछे ।
Jacob [Supplanter] took to himself rods of fresh poplar, almond, plane tree, peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.
38 त्यसपछि तिनले बगालहरूको सामु रहेका ती ताछिएका हाँगाहरू पानी पिउन आउने डूँडको सामु राखे । पानी पिउन आउँदा तिनीहरू गर्भवती भए ।
He set the rods which he had peeled opposite the flocks in the gutters in the watering-troughs where the flocks came to drink. They conceived when they came to drink.
39 ती बगालहरू हाँगाहरूका सामुन्ने मिसिने भएकाले तिनीहरूले पाठापाठी पनि त्यस्तै छिर्केमिर्के, पेटारे र थोप्ले ब्याए ।
The flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks produced streaked, speckled, and spotted.
40 याकूबले यी थुमाहरूलाई छुट्ट्याए, तर बाँकी बगाललाई चाहिँ छिर्केमिर्के जनावरहरूतिर फर्काएर राखे अनि सबै काला थुमालाई चाहिँ लाबानको बगालमा राखिदिए । त्यसपछि तिनले आफ्नो बगाललाई चाहिँ अलग गरे र लाबानको बगालसित मिसाएनन् ।
Jacob [Supplanter] separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the streaked and all the black in the flock of Laban [White]: and he put his own droves apart, and didn’t put them into Laban [White]’s flock.
41 बलिया भेडाहरू मिसिँदा याकूबले बगालहरूका सामुन्ने डूँडमा ती हाँगाहरू राखिदिन्थे ताकि तिनीहरू हाँगाहरूकै बिचमा गर्भवती होऊन् ।
Whenever the stronger of the flock conceived, Jacob [Supplanter] laid the rods in front of the eyes of the flock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods;
42 तर बगालमा भएका कमजोर जनावरहरू आउँदा तिनले तिनीहरूको सामु हाँगाहरू राख्दैनथ्ये । यसरी कमजोर जनावरहरू लाबानका भए र बलियाहरू याकूबका भए ।
but when the flock were feeble, he didn’t put them in. So the more feeble were Laban [White]’s, and the stronger Jacob [Supplanter]’s.
43 याकूबले ज्यादै उन्नति गरे । तिनका ठुला-ठुला बगालहरू, नोकर-चाकरहरू ऊँटहरू र गधाहरू थिए ।
The man increased exceedingly, and had large flocks, female servants and male servants, and camels and donkeys.
