उत्पत्ति 27
1 जब इसहाक वृद्ध भए र तिनका आँखा कमजोर भएर देख्न नसक्ने भए, तब तिनले आफ्ना जेठा छोरा एसावलाई बोलाएर भने, “ए मेरो छोरो ।” उनले तिनलाई जवाफ दिए, “हजुर, म यहीँ छु ।”
And it came to pass after Isaac was old, that his eyes were dimmed so that he could not see; and he called Esau, his elder son, and said to him, My son; and he said, Behold, I [am here].
2 तिनले भने, “हेर्, म वृद्ध भएँ । मेरो मर्ने दिनको बारेमा मलाई थाहा छैन ।
And he said, Behold, I am grown old, and know not the day of my death.
3 अब तेरा हतियारहरू, अर्थात् तेरो ठोक्रो र धनु लिएर मैदानमा जा, र मेरो निम्ति सिकार गर् ।
Now then take the weapons, both your quiver and your bow, and go into the plain, and get me venison,
4 मलाई मनपर्ने स्वादिष्ठ तरकारी बनाई मकहाँ ले ताकि यो खाएर मेरो मृत्युअगि म तँलाई आशिष् दिऊँ ।”
and make me meats, as I like them, and bring them to me that I may eat, that my soul may bless you, before I die.
5 इसहाकले आफ्नो छोरो एसावसँग कुरा गरेको रिबेकाले सुनिन् । एसाव शिकार मारेर ल्याउन मैदानमा गए ।
And Rebecca heard Isaac speaking to Esau his son; and Esau went to the plain to procure venison for his father.
6 रिबेकाले आफ्ना छोरा याकूबलाई भनिन्, “हेर्, तेरा पिताले तेरो दाजु एसावसँग यसो भनेर कुरा गरेको मैले सुनेँ ।
And Rebecca said to Jacob her younger son, Behold, I heard your father speaking to Esau your brother, saying,
7 ‘सिकार मारेर मकहाँ ले र मलाई मनपर्ने स्वादिष्ठ तरकारी बना ताकि यो खाएर मेरो मृत्युअगि परमप्रभुको सामुन्ने तँलाई आशिष् दिन सकूँ ।’
Bring me venison, and prepare me meats, that I may eat and bless you before the Lord before I die.
8 यसकारण यसकारण ए मेरो छोरो, मैले तँलाई दिएका आज्ञा मान् ।
Now then, my son, listen to me, as I command you.
9 बथानमा गएर दुईवटा असल पाठा लिएर आइज, र म तेरा बुबालाई मनपर्ने स्वादिष्ठ तरकारी बनाउनेछु ।
And go to the cattle and take for me thence two kids, tender and good, and I will make them meats for your father, as he likes.
10 अनि तैंले त्यो तेरा बुबाकहाँ लैजा, ताकि तिनले यो खाएर आफ्नो मृत्युअगि तँलाई आशिष् देऊन् ।”
And you shall bring them in to your father, and he shall eat, that your father may bless you before he dies.
11 याकूबले आफ्नी आमा रिबेकालाई भने, “हेर्नुहोस्, मेरा दाजु एसाव रौँ नै रौँ भएका मानिस हुन्, र मचाहिँ रौँ नभएको छु ।
And Jacob said to his mother Rebecca, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I a smooth man.
12 सायद मेरा पिताले मलाई छाम्नुहुनेछ, र उहाँको सामु म छली देखिनेछु । मैले ममाथि आशिष् होइन, सराप ल्याउनेछु ।”
Peradventure my father may feel me, and I shall be before him as one ill-intentioned, and I shall bring upon me a curse, and not a blessing.
13 तिनकी आमाले तिनलाई भनिन्, “हे मेरो छोरो, जुनसुकै सराप भए पनि त्यो ममाथि नै परोस् । केवल मेरो कुरा मान्, र गएर ती मकहाँ ले ।”
And his mother said to him, On me be your curse, son; only listen to my voice, and go and bring [them] me.
14 तब तिनी गएर ती पाठा ल्याए र आमालाई दिए, र तिनकी आमाले याकूबका बुबालाई मनपर्ने स्वादिष्ठ तरकारी तयार गरिन् ।
So he went and took and brought them to his mother; and his mother made meats, as his father liked [them].
15 रिबेकाले घरमा भएका आफ्ना जेठो छोरो एसावका असल लुगाहरू झिकेर आफ्नो कान्छा छोरो याकूबलाई लगाइदिइन् ।
And Rebecca having taken the fine raiment of her elder son Esau which was with her in the house, put it on Jacob her younger son.
16 बाख्राका पाठाका छालाहरू तिनले याकूबका हात र घाँटीका रौँ नभएका भागमा लगाइदिइन्,
And she put on his arms the skins of the kids, and on the bare parts of his neck.
17 अनि आफूले तयार पारेका स्वादिष्ठ तरकारी र रोटी आफ्ना छोरा याकूबका हातमा दिइन् ।
And she gave the meats, and the loaves which she had prepared, into the hands of Jacob her son.
18 याकूबले आफ्ना पिताकहाँ गएर भने, “बुबा ।” इसहाकले भने, “हँ, तँ को होस्?”
And he brought [them] to his father, and said, Father; and he said, Behold I [am here]; who are you, son?
19 याकूबले आफ्ना पितालाई भने, “म तपाईंको जेठो छोरो एसाव हुँ । तपाईंले मलाई भनेबमोजिम मैले गरेको छु । अब उठेर बस्नुहोस्, र मैले ल्याएको सिकारको मासु खानुहोस्, र मलाई आशिष् दिनुहोस् ।”
And Jacob said to his father, I, Esau your firstborn, have done as you told me; rise, sit, and eat of my venison, that your soul may bless me.
20 इसहाकले आफ्ना छोरालाई भने, “मेरो छोरो, कसरी तैँले यति चाँडै त्यो भेट्टाउन सकिस्?” तिनले भने, “परमप्रभु तपाईंका परमेश्वरले यसलाई मकहाँ ल्याउनुभयो ।”
And Isaac said to his son, What is this which you have quickly found? And he said, That which the Lord your God presented before me.
21 इसहाकले याकूबलाई भने, “मेरो छोरो, नजिकै आइज, तँ मेरो छोरो एसाव होस् कि होइनस् म छामेर थाहा पाउन सकूँ ।”
And Isaac said to Jacob, Draw night to me, and I will feel you, son, if you are my son Esau or not.
22 याकूब आफ्ना पिताको नजिकै गए, र इसहाकले तिनलाई छामेर भने, “सोर त याकूबको हो, तर हातहरू त एसावकै हुन् ।”
And Jacob drew near to his father Isaac, and he felt him, and said, The voice [is] Jacob's voice, but the hands [are] the hands of Esau.
23 तिनका हातहरू तिनका दाजु एसावकै हातजस्ता रौँ नै रौँ भएका हुनाले इसहाकले तिनलाई चिनेनन्, त्यसैले इसहाकले तिनलाई आशिष् दिए ।
And he knew him not, for his hands were as the hands of his brother Esau, hairy; and he blessed him,
24 इसहाकले सोधे, “के तँ साँच्चै मेरो छोरो एसाव नै होस्?” याकूबले जवाफ दिए, “म एसाव नै हुँ ।”
and he said, Are you my son Esau? and he said, I [am].
25 तब इसहाकले भने, “तैँले शिकार गरेको मासु यहाँ ले, र म खानेछु, र तँलाई आशिष् दिऊँ ।” याकूबले त्यो मासु आफ्ना पिताकहाँ ल्याए । उनले खाए र याकूबले दाखमद्य पनि लगिदिए, र उनले पिए ।
And he said, Bring hither, and I will eat of your venison, son, that my soul may bless you; and he brought [it] near to him, and he ate, and he brought him wine, and he drank.
26 तब तिनका पिता इसहाकले तिनलाई भने, “मेरो छोरो, मेरो नजिकै आएर मलाई मलाई चुम्बन गर् ।”
And Isaac his father said to him, Draw near to me, and kiss me, son.
27 याकूब नजिक गएर आफ्ना पितालाई चुम्बन गरे । अनि इसहाकले तिनका लुगाहरूको गन्ध सुँघेर यसो भनी आशिष् दिए, “हेर, मेरो छोराको बास्ना, परमप्रभुले आशिष् दिनुभएको खेतको बास्नाजस्तै छ ।
And he drew near and kissed him, and smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him, and said, Behold, the smell of my son is as the smell of an abundant field, which the Lord has blessed.
28 परमेश्वरले तँलाई आकाशको शीत र पृथ्वीको प्रचुरता अनि धेरै दाखमद्य र अन्न देऊन् ।
And may God give you of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and abundance of corn and wine.
29 मानिसहरूले तेरो सेवा गरून् र जाति-जातिहरूले तँलाई दण्डवत् गरून् । तेरा दाजुभाइहरूको मालिक बन्, र तेरी आमाका छोराहरूले तँलाई दण्डवत् गरून् । तँलाई सराप्नेहरू सबै श्रापित होऊन्, र तँलाई आशिष् दिनेहरू सबैले आशिष् पाऊन् ।”
And let nations serve you, and princes bow down to you, and be you lord of your brother, and the sons of your father shall do you reverence; accursed is he that curses you, and blessed is he that blesses you.
30 इसहाकले आशिष् दिइसक्ने बित्तिकै याकूब आफ्ना पिता इसहाकको उपस्थितिबाट निस्केर गएका मात्र थिए, उनका उनका दाजु एसाव शिकार खेलेर आइपुगे ।
And it came to pass after Isaac had ceased blessing his son Jacob, it even came to pass, just when Jacob had gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
31 उनले पनि स्वादिष्ठ तरकारी तयार गरेर आफ्ना पिताकहाँ ल्याए । उनले आफ्नो पितालाई भने, “बुबा, उठेर आफ्नो छोराले ल्याएको सिकार खानुहोस्, र मलाई आशिष् दिनुहोस् ।”
And he also had made meats and brought them to his father; and he said to his father, Let my father arise and eat of his son's venison, that your soul may bless me.
32 उनका पिता इसहाकले उनलाई सोधे, “तँ को होस्?” उनले उत्तर दिए, “म तपाईंको जेठो छोरो एसाव हुँ ।”
And Isaac his father said to him, Who are you? And he said, I am your firstborn son Esau.
33 इसहाक बेसरी कामे र भने, “त्यसो भए सिकार मारेर यहाँ मकहाँ ल्याउने त्यो को थियो? तँ आउन अगि नै मैले त्यो सबै खाएर त्यसलाई आशिष् दिइसकेँ । वास्तवमा, त्योचाहिँ आशीर्वादी हुनेछ।”
And Isaac was amazed with very great amazement, and said, Who then is it that has procured venison for me and brought it to me? and I have eaten of all before you came, and I have blessed him, and he shall be blessed.
34 जब एसावले आफ्ना पिता इसहाकका कुरा सुने तब उनी अत्यन्तै विह्वल भई चर्को सोरले रोए र आफ्ना पितालाई भने, “हे मेरा बुबा, मलाई पनि आशिष् दिनुहोस् ।”
And it came to pass when Esau heard the words of his father Isaac, he cried out with a great and very bitter cry, and said, Bless, I pray you, me also, father.
35 इसहाकले भने, “तेरो भाइ छल गरेर आयो, र तैंले पाउने आशिष् लग्यो ।”
And he said to him, Your brother has come with subtlety, and taken your blessing.
36 एसावले भने, “त्यसको नाउँ याकूब राखिएको के ठिकै होइन? किनभने त्यसले मलाई दुई पल्ट ठग्यो । त्यसले मेरो ज्येष्ठ-अधिकार हर्यो, र अहिले मैले पाउने आशिष् पनि लग्यो ।” उनले फेरि भने, “के तपाईंले मेरो निम्ति एउटै आशिष् पनि जगेडा राख्नुभएको छैन?”
And he said, Rightly was his name called Jacob, for behold! this second time has he supplanted me; he has both taken my birthright, and now he has taken my blessing; and Esau said to his father, Hast you not left a blessing for me, father?
37 इसहाकले एसावलाई जवाफ दिए, “हेर्, मैले त्यसलाई तेरो मालिक तुल्याइसकेँ । र त्यसका सबै दाजुभाइहरूलाई मैले त्यसका दास तुल्याएँ । अन्न र दाखमद्यले मैले त्यसलाई तृप्त पारेको छु । अब तेरो निम्ति म के गर्न सक्छु र, छोरो?”
And Isaac answered and said to Esau, If I have made him your lord, and have made all his brethren his servants, and have strengthened him with corn and wine, what then shall I do for you, son?
38 एसावले आफ्ना पितालाई भने, “तपाईंसित मेरो निम्ति एउटै मात्र आशिष् छैन र मेरा बुबा? मलाई पनि त आशिष् दिनुहोस् ।” एसाव डाँको छोडेर रोए ।
And Esau said to his father, Hast you [only] one blessing, father? Bless, I pray you, me also, father. And Isaac being troubled, Esau cried aloud and wept.
39 उनका पिता इसहाकले जवाफ दिएर भने, “हेर्, तँ बस्ने जमिन पृथ्वीको प्रशस्तताबाट बाहिरै हुनेछ, आकाशको शीतबाट बाहिर ।
And Isaac his father answered and said to him, Behold, your dwelling shall be of the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above.
40 तैंले आफ्नो तरवारको बलले जीविका चलाउनेछस् र तैंले तेरो भाइको सेवा गर्नेछस् । तर जब तैंले विद्रोह गर्नेछस्, तब त्यसको जुवा तेरो काँधबाट हल्लाएर फ्याँक्नेछस् ।”
And you shall live by your sword, and shall serve your brother; and there shall be [a time] when you shall break and loosen his yoke from off your neck.
41 आफ्ना पिताले याकूबलाई दिएको त्यस आशिष्ले गर्दा एसावले तिनलाई घृणा गर्न लागे । एसावले हृदयमा भने, “मेरा पिताको शोकको बेला नजिकै छ । त्यसपछि म मेरो भाइ याकूबलाई मार्नेछु ।”
And Esau was angry with Jacob because of the blessing, with which his father blessed him; and Esau said in his mind, Let the days of my father's mourning draw near, that I may kill my brother Jacob.
42 तिनका जेठा छोरा एसावको यो कुरा रिबेकालाई सुनाइयो । यसकारण रिबेकाले आफ्ना कान्छा छोरा याकूबलाई बोलाएर भनिन्, “हेर्, तेरो दाजु एसावले तँलाई मार्ने विचार गरेर आफ्नो चित्त बुझाएको छ ।
And the words of Esau her elder son were reported to Rebecca, and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said to him, Behold, Esau your brother threatens you to kill you.
43 यसकारण मेरो छोरो, मैले भनेको कुरा मान् र हारानमा मेरा दाजु लाबानकहाँ भागेर जा ।
Now then, my son, hear my voice, and rise and depart quickly into Mesopotamia to Laban my brother into Charran.
44 तँप्रति तेरो दाजुको रिस नमरुञ्जेल केही दिन त्यहाँ उनीसँग बस् र
And dwell with him certain days, until your brother's anger
45 तैंले त्यसमाथि गरेको काम बिर्सन्छ । त्यसपछि म तँलाई त्यहाँबाट लिन पठाउनेछु । मैले एकै दिनमा तिमीहरू दुवै जनालाई किन गुमाउने?”
and rage depart from you, and he forget what you have done to him; and I will send and fetch you thence, lest at any time I should be bereaved of you both in one day.
46 रिबेकाले इसहाकलाई भनिन्, “यहाँका हित्ती स्त्रीहरूको कारण मेरो जीवनै हैरान भइसक्यो । यदि याकूबले यस देशका स्त्रीहरूजस्तै हित्तीका छोरीहरूमध्ये एउटीलाई विवाह गर्यो भने मेरो लागि मेरो जीवनको के फाइदा हुन्छ र?”
And Rebecca said to Isaac, I am weary of my life, because of the daughters of the sons of Chet; if Jacob shall take a wife of the daughters of this land, therefore should I live?
