उत्पत्ति 26
1 अब्राहामको समयमा परेको पहिलो अनिकालबाहेक त्यस देशमा अर्को अनिकाल पनि पर्यो । इसहाक पलिश्तीहरूका राजा अबीमेलेककहाँ गरार देशमा गए ।
And there was a famine in the lande besides the first famine that was in the dayes of Abraham. Wherefore Izhak went to Abimelech King of the Philistims vnto Gerar.
2 तिनीकहाँ देखा परेर परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “तल मिश्रमा नजा, मैले तँलाई बसोबास गर् भनेकै ठाउँमा बस् ।
For the Lord appeared vnto him, and sayde, Goe not downe into Egypt, but abide in the land which I shall shewe vnto thee.
3 यही ठाउँमा बसोबास गर्, र म तँसँग रहनेछु, र तँलाई आशिष् दिनेछु, किनकि म यी देशहरू तँ र तेरा सन्तानलाई दिनेछु, अनि तेरो बुबा अब्राहामसँग मैले शपथ खाएर दिएको प्रतिज्ञा म पुरा गर्नेछु ।
Dwell in this lande, and I will be with thee, and will blesse thee: for to thee, and to thy seede I will giue all these countreys: and I will performe the othe which I sware vnto Abraham thy father.
4 तेरा सन्तानलाई आकाशका ताराहरूझैँ बढाउनेछु, र तिनीहरूलाई यी सबै देश दिनेछु । संसारका सबै जातिहरूले तेरै सन्तानहरूद्वारा आशिष् पाउनेछन् ।
Also I wil cause thy seede to multiply as the starres of heauen, and will giue vnto thy seede all these countreys: and in thy seede shall all the nations of the earth be blessed,
5 अब्राहामले मेरो वचन पालन गरेको र मैले दिएका आदेशहरू, मेरा आज्ञाहरू, मेरा नियमहरू र मेरा विधिविधानहरूको पालन गरेको हुनाले म यो गर्नेछु ।”
Because that Abraham obeyed my voyce and kept mine ordinance, my commandements, my statutes, and my Lawes.
6 यसैकारण इसहाक गरारमा नै बसे ।
So Izhak dwelt in Gerar.
7 त्यस ठाउँका मानिसहरूले तिनकी पत्नीको विषयमा सोधपुछ गर्दा तिनले “तिनी मेरी बहिनी हुन्” भने । किनकि तिनले यस्तो सोचे, “रिबेकालाई प्राप्त गर्नको लागि यस ठाउँका मानिसहरूले मलाई मार्नेछन्, किनकी तिनी धेरै सुन्दरी छिन् ।”
And the men of the place asked him of his wife, and he sayd, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife, least, sayde he, the men of the place shoulde kill me, because of Rebekah: for she was beautifull to the eye.
8 इसहाक त्यहाँ बसेको धेरै दिनपछि पलिश्तीहरूका राजा अबीमेलेकले झ्यालबाट हेर्न पुगे । इसहाक आफ्नी पत्नी रिबेकासँग प्रेम-क्रीडा गरिरहेका थिए ।
So after hee had bene there long time, Abimelech King of the Philistims looked out at a windowe, and loe, he sawe Izhak sporting with Rebekah his wife.
9 अबीमेलेकले इसहाकलाई आफूकहाँ बोलाएर भने, “हेर, तिनी पक्कै पनि तिम्री पत्नी हुन् । किन तिमीले ‘तिनी मेरी बहिनी हुन्’ भन्यौ?” इसहाकले उनलाई भने, “किनभने तिनलाई प्राप्त गर्नको निम्ति कसैले मार्लान् भन्ने मैले सोचें ।”
Then Abimelech called Izhak, and sayde, Loe, shee is of a suertie thy wife, and why saydest thou, She is my sister? To whom Izhak answered, Because I thought this, It may be that I shall dye for her.
10 अबीमेलेकले भने, “तिमीले हामीसँग यो के गरेको? कुनै मानिसले तिम्री पत्नीसित सजिलै नराम्रो कर्म गर्ने थियो, र तिमीले हामीमाथि दोष ल्याउने थियौ ।”
Then Abimelech said, Why hast thou done this vnto vs? one of the people had almost lien by thy wife, so shouldest thou haue brought sinne vpon vs.
11 यसकारण अबीमेलेकले सबै मानिसहरूलाई चेताउनी दिएर भने, “यी मानिस अथवा यिनकी पत्नीलाई छुने जुनसुकै मानिसलाई पनि निश्चय नै मृत्युदण्ड हुनेछ ।”
Then Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man, or his wife, shall die the death.
12 इसहाकले त्यस देशमा बालीनाली लगाए, र त्यही साल सय गुणा कटनी गरे । किनभने परमेश्वरले तिनलाई आशिष् दिनुभयो ।
Afterwarde Izhak sowed in that lande, and founde in the same yeere an hundreth folde by estimation: and so the Lord blessed him.
13 तिनी धनी भए, र अत्यन्तै धनाढ्य नहुञ्जेलसम्म झनझन बढेर गए ।
And the man waxed mightie, and stil increased, till he was exceeding great,
14 तिनका धेरै भेडाबाख्रा, गाईवस्तु र ठुलो परिवार भयो । यसैकारण पलिश्तीहरूले तिनको डाह गरे ।
For he had flockes of sheepe, and heards of cattell, and a mightie housholde: therefore the Philistims had enuy at him.
15 तिनका पिता अब्राहामको पालोमा उनका नोकरहरूले खनेका सबै इनारहरू पलिश्तीहरूले ढुङ्गा-माटोले पुरेर रोकिदिए ।
In so much that the Philistims stopped and filled vp with earth all the welles, which his fathers seruantes digged in his father Abrahams time.
16 त्यसपछि अबीमेलेकले इसहाकलाई भने, “हामीहरूबाट अब तिमी गइहाल, किनभने तिमी हामीभन्दा ज्यादै शक्तिशाली छौ ।”
Then Abimelech sayde vnto Izhak, Get thee from vs, for thou art mightier then wee a great deale.
17 त्यसैले इसहाक त्यहाँबाट निस्केर गए अनि गरारको बेँसीमा आफ्नो पाल टाँगेर बसोबास गरे ।
Therefore Izhak departed thence and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.
18 तिनले आफ्ना पिताका पालोमा तिनीहरूले खनेका इनारहरू फेरि खने । अब्राहामको मृत्युपछि पलिश्तीहरूले ती रोकिदिएका थिए । अनि तिनले ती इनारहरूलाई आफ्ना पिताले राखेकै नाउँ राखिदिए ।
And Izhak returning, digged the welles of water, which they had digged in the dayes of Abraham his father: for the Philistims had stopped them after the death of Abraham, and hee gaue them the same names, which his father gaue them.
19 इसहाकका नोकरहरूले बेँसीमा खन्दा बगिरहेको पानीको मूल भेट्टाए ।
Izhaks seruantes then digged in the valley, and found there a well of liuing water.
20 तर गरारका गोठालाहरूले इसहाकका गोठालाहरूसँग झगडा गरेर भने “यो पानी हाम्रो हो ।” यसकारण इसहाकले त्यस इनारको नाउँ एसेक राखे, किनभने तिनीहरूले उनीसँग झगडा गरे ।
But the herdmen of Gerar did striue with Izhaks herdmen, saying, The water is ours: therefore called he the name of the well Esek, because they were at strife with him.
21 तब तिनीहरूले अर्को इनार खने, र त्यसमा पनि तिनीहरूले झगडा गरे । यसकारण तिनले त्यसको नाउँ सित्ना राखे ।
Afterwarde they digged another well, and stroue for that also, and he called the name of it Sitnah.
22 तिनी त्यो ठाउँ छोडेर गए अनि तिनले अर्को इनार खने, तर तिनीहरूले त्यसमा चाहिँ झगडा गरेनन् । यसकारण तिनले त्यसको नाउँ रहोबोत राखेर यसो भने, “अब परमप्रभुले हामी निम्ति बस्ने ठाउँ दिनुभएको छ, र हामी यस ठाउँमा फल्दो-फुल्दो हुनेछौँ ।”
Then he remoued thence, and digged an other well, for the which they stroue not: therefore called hee the name of it Rehoboth, and sayde, Because the Lord hath nowe made vs roome, we shall increase vpon the earth.
23 त्यसपछि इसहाक बेर्शेबामा गए ।
So he went vp thence to Beer-sheba.
24 परमप्रभु त्यही रात तिनीकहाँ देखा पर्नुभयो अनि भन्नुभयो, “म तेरो पिता अब्राहामका परमेश्वर हुँ । नडरा, किनभने म तँसँग छु र म तँलाई आशिष् दिनेछु । अनि मेरो दास अब्राहामको खातिर म तेरा सन्तानको वृद्धि गराउनेछु ।”
And the Lord appeared vnto him the same night, and sayde, I am the God of Abraham thy father: feare not, for I am with thee, and wil blesse thee, and will multiplie thy seede for my seruant Abrahams sake.
25 इसहाकले त्यहाँ एउटा वेदी बनाएर परमप्रभुका नाउँको पुकारा गरे । तिनले आफ्नो पाल त्यहीँ नै टाँगे, र तिनका नोकरहरूले त्यहाँ एउटा इनार खने ।
Then he builte an altar there, and called vpon the Name of the Lord, and there spred his tent: where also Izhaks seruauntes digged a well.
26 एक दिन अबीमेलेक आफ्ना मित्र अहुज्जत र आफ्नो फौजका सेनापति पीकोललाई साथमा लिएर गरारबाट तिनीकहाँ आए ।
Then came Abimelech to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friendes, and Phichol the captaine of his armie.
27 इसहाकले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “घृणा गरेर तपाईंहरूले आफ्नो बिचबाट मलाई निकाल्नुभयो, अनि तपाईंहरू अहिले किन मकहाँ आउँदै
To whom Izhak sayd, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate mee and haue put mee away from you?
28 हुनुहुन्छ?” त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले भने, “हामीले प्रस्टै देख्यौँ कि परमप्रभु तपाईंसँग हुनुहुन्छ । यसैले हाम्रा बिचमा, अर्थात् तपाईं र हाम्रा बिचमा एउटा सम्झौता होस् भन्ने हामीले निर्णय गर्यौँ,
Who answered, Wee sawe certainely that the Lord was with thee, and wee thought thus, Let there be nowe an othe betweene vs, euen betweene vs and thee, and let vs make a couenant with thee.
29 ताकि जसरी हामीले तपाईंको कुनै हानी गरेनौँ र तपाईंसँग राम्रो व्यवहार गर्यौँ अनि तपाईंलाई शान्तिमा पठायौँ । त्यसरी नै तपाईंले पनि हाम्रो कुनै हानि गर्नुहुनेछैन । तपाईं साँच्चै नै परमप्रभुबाट आशिषित् हुनुहुन्छ ।”
If thou shalt do vs no hurt, as we haue not touched thee, and as we haue done vnto thee nothing but good, and sent thee away in peace: thou nowe, the blessed of the Lord, doe this.
30 त्यसैले इसहाकले तिनीहरूका निम्ति भोज तयार गरे, र तिनीहरूले खाए र पिए ।
Then hee made them a feast, and they dyd eate and drinke.
31 तिनीहरू बिहान सबेरै उठे र आपसमा शपथ खाए । अनि इसहाकले तिनीहरूलाई बिदा दिए, र तिनीहरूले उनलाई शान्तिमा छाडेर गए ।
And they rose vp betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: then Izhak let them go, and they departed from him in peace.
32 त्यही दिन इसहाकका नोकरहरू आएर तिनीहरूले खनेका इनारको विषयमा तिनलाई बताए । तिनीहरूले भने, “हामीले पानी भेट्टाएका छौँ ।”
And that same day Izhaks seruantes came and tolde him of a well, which they had digged, and said vnto him, We haue found water.
33 तिनले त्यस इनारको नाउँ शिबा राखे, यसकारण त्यस सहरको नाउँ आजसम्म पनि बेर्शेबा नै छ ।
So hee called it Shibah: therefore the name of the citie is called Beer-sheba vnto this day.
34 चालिस वर्षको हुँदा एसावले हित्ती बेरीकी छोरी यहूदीत र हित्ती एलोनकी छोरी बासमतलाई विवाह गरी ल्याए ।
Nowe when Esau was fourtie yeere olde, he tooke to wife Iudith, the daughter of Beeri an Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon an Hittite also.
35 तिनीहरूले इसहाक र रिबेकाको जीवनमा दुःख ल्याए ।
And they were a griefe of minde to Izhak and to Rebekah.
