उत्पत्ति 25
1 अब्राहामले अर्की एउटी पत्नी विवाह गरे ।
Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name [was] Keturah.
2 तिनको नाउँ कतूरा थियो । तिनले अब्राहामबाट जिम्रान, योक्षान, मदान, मिद्यान, यिशबाक र शूहलाई जन्माइन् ।
And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
3 योक्षान शेबा र ददानका पिता भए । अश्शूरी, लतूशी र लऊम्मीहरू ददानका सन्तान थिए ।
And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
4 मिद्यानका छोराहरूचाहिँ एपा, एपेर, हानोक, अबीदा र एल्दा थिए । यी सबै कतूराका सन्तान थिए ।
And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these [were] the children of Keturah.
5 अब्राहामले आफूसँग भएका सबै थोक इसहाकलाई दिए ।
And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.
6 तर आफू जीवित छँदै तिनका उपपत्नीपट्टिका छोराहरूलाई उनले उपहारहरू दिए, र आफ्ना छोरा इसहाकबाट छुट्याएर तिनीहरूलाई पूर्व देशतिर पठाए ।
But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.
7 अब्राहाम जम्मा एक सय पचहत्तर वर्षसम्म बाँचे ।
And these [are] the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.
8 अब्राहाम पुरा जीवन जिएर बुढ़ेसकालमा मरे, र आफ्ना मरेका पिता-पुर्खाहरूसँग मिल्न गए ।
Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full [of years; ] and was gathered to his people.
9 तिनका छोराहरू इसहाक र इश्माएलले तिनलाई हित्ती सोहोरको छोरा एप्रोनको खेतमा भएको मम्रेनजिकको मक्पेलाको ओडारमा गाडे ।
And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which [is] before Mamre;
10 त्यो खेत अब्राहामले हेतका छोराहरूबाट किनेका थिए । अब्राहाम आफ्नी पत्नी सारासित त्यहीँ नै गाडिए ।
The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
11 अब्राहामको मृत्युपछि परमेश्वरले तिनका छोरा इसहाकलाई आशिष् दिनुभयो, र इसहाक बेअर-लहै-रोइ नजिकै बसोबास गरे ।
And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi.
12 साराकी कमारी मिश्री हागारपट्टिबाट जन्मेको अब्राहामको छोरो इश्माएलका सन्तान यिनै थिए ।
Now these [are] the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
13 जन्म क्रमको सूचीअनुसार इश्माएलका छोराहरूका नाउँ यी नै थिएः इश्माएलको जेठो छोरो नबायोत, केदार, अदबेल,
And these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 मिब्साम, मिश्मा, दुमा, मस्सा,
And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15 हदद, तेमा, यतूर, नापीश र केदमा ।
Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
16 इश्माएलका छोराहरू यी नै थिए । तिनीहरूका बस्ती र छाउनीहरूअनुसार ती बाह्र कुलनायकका नाउँ यी नै थिए ।
These [are] the sons of Ishmael, and these [are] their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
17 इश्माएलको जम्मा उमेर एक सय सैँतिस वर्ष हुँदा तिनको मृत्यु भयो र तिनी आफ्ना पिता-पुर्खाहरूसँगै मिल्न गए ।
And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.
18 तिनीहरूको बसोबास मिश्रको सिमानानजिक भएको अश्शूर देशतिर पर्ने हवीलादेखि शूरसम्म थियो । तिनीहरू एक-अर्काको शत्रुतामा बसे ।
And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that [is] before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: [and] he died in the presence of all his brethren.
19 अब्राहामका छोरा इसहाकको वृत्तान्त यही हो । अब्राहाम इसहाकका पिता भए ।
And these [are] the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
20 पद्दन-आरामका अरामी बतूएलकी छोरी अरामी लाबानकी बहिनी रिबेकासँग विवाह गर्दा इसहाक जम्मा चालिस वर्षका थिए ।
And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
21 तिनी बाँझी भएकी हुनाले इसहाकले आफ्नी पत्नीको निम्ति परमप्रभुसँग प्रार्थना गरे । परमप्रभुले तिनको प्रार्थना सुन्नुभयो, र तिनकी पत्नी रिबेका गर्भवती भइन् ।
And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22 तिनको गर्भमा भएका बालकहरू एक-अर्कासँग लड्न लागे, र तिनले भनिन् “मलाई किन यस्तो भयो?” तिनले यसको बारेमा परमप्रभुसँग सोधिन् ।
And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why [am] I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
23 परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तेरो कोखमा दुई जाति छन्, तेरो गर्भदेखि नै दुई जाति छुट्टिनेछन् । एक जाति अर्कोभन्दा बलवान् हुनेछ, र जेठाले कान्छाको सेवा गर्नेछ ।”
And the LORD said unto her, Two nations [are] in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger than [the other] people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 तिनको सुत्केरी हुने बेला आउँदा तिनको कोखमा जुम्ल्याहा थिए ।
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, [there were] twins in her womb.
25 जेठोचाहिँ शरीरभरि रौँको लुगा लगाएजस्तै रातो वर्णको जन्म्यो । तिनीहरूले त्यसको नाउँ एसाव राखे ।
And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
26 त्यसपछि त्यसको भाइ बाहिर निस्क्यो । त्यसको हातले एसावको कुर्कुच्चा समातिरहेको थियो । त्यसको नाउँ याकूब राखियो । इसाहककी पत्नीले तिनीहरूलाई जन्माउँदा तिनी साठी वर्ष पुगेका थिए ।
And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac [was] threescore years old when she bare them.
27 बालकहरू बढे, र एसावचाहिँ सिपालु सिकारी र मैदानमा डुलिहिँड्ने मानिस भए, र याकूबचाहिँ पालमा बसिरहने शान्त स्वभावका मानिस भए ।
And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob [was] a plain man, dwelling in tents.
28 इसहाकले एसावलाई माया गर्थे, किनभने उनले शिकार गरेर ल्याएको मासु तिनले खान पाउँथे । तर रिबेकाले चाहिँ याकूबलाई माया गर्थिन् ।
And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of [his] venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 याकूबले सुरुवा पकाए । एसाव मैदानबाट आए, र उनी भोकले कमजोर भएका थिए ।
And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he [was] faint:
30 एसावले याकूबलाई भने, “कृपया, मलाई त्यो रातो सुरुवा खान देऊ, म थकित छु ।” यसैकारण उनलाई एदोम भनियो ।
And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red [pottage; ] for I [am] faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 याकूबले भने, “पहिले तपाईंको ज्येष्ठ-अधिकार मलाई बेच्नुहोस् ।”
And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 एसावले भने, “हेर, म त मर्नै आँटेको छु । मलाई त्यो ज्येष्ठ-अधिकारको के काम?”
And Esau said, Behold, I [am] at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 याकूबले भने, “पहिले मसँग शपथ खानुहोस् ।” तब एसावले शपथ खाए, र यसरी उनले आफ्नो ज्येष्ठ-अधिकार याकूबलाई बेचे ।
And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 याकूबले एसावलाई रोटी र दालको सुरुवा दिए । एसावले खानपान गरे अनि उठेर आफ्नो बाटो लागे । यसरी एसावले आफ्नो ज्येष्ठ-अधिकारलाई लत्त्याए ।
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised [his] birthright.
