गलाती 5
1 स्वतन्त्रताको निम्ति ख्रीष्टले हामीलाई मुक्त गराउनुभएको हो । यसैकारण, स्थिर होओ र फेरि बन्धनको जुवामुनि नपर ।
With her freedom, Christ hath made you, free. Stand fast, therefore, and do not, again, with a yoke of servitude, be held fast!
2 हेर! म पावल तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, कि तिमीहरूको खतना भए तापनि ख्रीष्टमा तिमीहरूलाई केही फाइदा हुनेछैन ।
See! I, Paul, say unto you—if ye be getting circumcised, Christ will profit you, nothing.
3 फेरि, खतना गरिएका सबै मानिसलाई म यो गवाही दिन्छु, कि सबै व्यवस्था पालन गर्न त्यो बाध्य हुन्छ ।
Yea, I bear solemn witness again, unto every man getting circumcised, —that he is, a debtor, to do, the whole law.
4 जो व्यवस्थाबाट धर्मी ठहराइएका छौ, तिमीहरू ख्रीष्टबाट अलग गरिएका छौ । तिमीहरू अनुग्रहबाट टाढा गएका छौ ।
Ye have been set aside from Christ, ye who, by law, are to be declared righteous, —out of his favour, ye have fallen;
5 किनकि आत्माद्वारा विश्वासबाट हामीले धार्मिकताको आशाको प्रतीक्षा गरिरहेका छौँ ।
For, we, in Spirit, by faith, for a hope of righteousness, are ardently waiting, —
6 ख्रीष्ट येशूमा न खतना न बेखतना कुनै मूल्यको हुन्छ । केवल प्रेमद्वारा काम गर्ने विश्वासको मात्र मूल्य हुन्छ ।
For, in Christ [Jesus], neither, circumcision, availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith, through love, energising.
7 तिमीहरू असल रूपमा दौडिरहेका थियौ । सत्यताको पालन गर्न तिमीहरूलाई कसले रोक्यो?
Ye were running well: —who hath hindered you, that, by truth, ye are not to be persuaded?
8 यो काम गर्नको निम्ति आएको प्रोत्साहन तिमीहरूलाई बोलाउनुहुने बाटको होइन ।
The persuasion, [is] not of him that calleth you: —
9 थोरै खमिरले पुरै आटाको डल्लोलाई फुलाउँछ ।
A little leaven, leaveneth, the whole lump.
10 प्रभुमा म तिमीहरूमा भरोसा गर्दछु, कि तिमीहरूले अर्को तरिकाले विचार गर्दैनौ । तिमीहरूलाई अलमलमा पार्ने जोसुकै भए तापनि त्यसले आफ्नो दण्ड पाउनेछ ।
I, am persuaded regarding you, in the Lord—that, for nothing else, ye will have any regard; but, he that is troubling you, shall bear the sentence, —whosoever he may be.
11 मेरा भाइहरू हो, यदि म अझै पनि खतनाको प्रचार गर्दछु भने, अझै पनि म किन सताइएको छु? त्यसो हो भनेता क्रुसको बाधा नष्ट हुने थियो ।
I, however, brethren—if, circumcision, I yet proclaim, why am I yet persecuted? After all, the stumbling-block of the cross hath been set aside.
12 तिमीहरूलाई बहकाउनेहरूले त आफैँलाई नपुङ्सक तुल्याओस् ।
Oh! that they would even leave off in dismay, who are unsettling you!
13 किनकि मेरा भाइहरू हो, परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई स्वतन्त्रताको निम्ति बोलाउनुभएको छ । आफ्नो स्वतन्त्रतालाई शरीरको निम्ति अवसरको रूपमा मात्र प्रयोग नगर । बरु, प्रेमद्वारा एक अर्कालाई सेवा पुर्याओ ।
For, ye, on a footing of freedom, were called, brethren, —only, [turn] not your freedom into an occasion to the flesh, but, by means of your love, be serving one another;
14 किनकि सारा व्यवस्था एउटै आज्ञामा पुरा हुन्छ, “तिमीहरूले आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई आफैँलाई जस्तै प्रेम गर्नुपर्छ ।”
For, the whole law, in one word, is summed up—[namely] in this, —Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 तर यदि तिमीहरूले एक अर्कालाई टोक्ने र निल्ने गर्छौ भने, ध्यान देओ, तिमीहरू आफैँ एक अर्काबाट नष्ट हुन नपरोस् ।
If, however, one another, ye bite and devour, take heed lest, by one another, ye be consumed!
16 म भन्दछु, आत्माद्वारा हिँड, अनि तिमीहरूले शरीरका अभिलाषाहरूलाई पुरा गर्नेछैनौ ।
I say, moreover—by Spirit, be walking, and, fleshly coveting, ye will in nowise fulfil;
17 किनकि शरीरका अभिलाषाहरू आत्माको विरुद्धमा हुन्छन्, र आत्माको इच्छा शरीरको विरुद्धमा हुन्छ । किनकि यी एक अर्काका विपरीत हुन्छन् । यसको परिणामचाहिँ यही हो, कि तिमीहरूले गर्न चाहेका कुराहरू तिमीहरूले गर्दैनौ ।
For, the flesh, coveted against the Spirit, but, the Spirit, against the flesh, —for, these, unto one another, are opposed, lest, whatsoever things ye chance to desire, these, ye should be doing!
18 तर यदि आत्माले तिमीहरूलाई अगुवाइ गर्नुहुन्छ भने तिमीहरू व्यवस्थाको अधीनमा हुँदैनौ ।
And, if, by Spirit, ye are being led, ye are not under law.
19 शरीरका कामहरू प्रत्यक्ष देख्न सकिने हुन्छन् । ती कामुक अनैतिकता, अपवित्रता, कामवासना,
Manifest, however, are the works of the flesh, which, indeed, are—fornication, impurity, wantonness,
20 मूर्तिपूजा, तन्त्रमन्त्र, दुश्मनी, झैँझगडा, ईर्ष्या, क्रोध, स्वार्थ, फुट, गुटबन्दी,
idolatry, enchantment, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of wrath, factions, divisions, parties,
21 डाह, पियक्कडपन, मोजमज्जा र अरू यस्तै कुराहरू हुन् । मैले तिमीहरूलाई पहिले पनि चेतावनी दिएझैँ म फेरि चेतावनी दिन्छु, कि जसले यी कुराहरू गर्छन्, तिनीहरू परमेश्वरको राज्यका हकदार हुनेछैनन् ।
envyings, drunkenness, revellings; —and such things as these: as to which I forewarn you, even as I have forewarned you, —that, they who such things as these do practise, shall not inherit, God’s kingdom.
22 तर पवित्र आत्माका फलचाहिँ प्रेम, आनन्द, शान्ति, धैर्य, दया, भलाइ, विश्वास,
But, the fruit of the Spirit, is—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, graciousness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 नम्रता र संयम हुन् । यी कुराहरूका विरुद्धमा कुनै व्यवस्था छैन ।
meekness, self-control; —against such things as these, there is no law.
24 तिनीहरू जो ख्रीष्ट येशूका हुन् उनीहरूले आफ्ना शरीरलाई त्यसका लालसा र दुष्ट अभिलाषाहरूसहित क्रुसमा टाँगेका हुन्छन् ।
And, they who are of Christ Jesus, have crucified, the flesh, with its susceptibilities and covetings.
25 यदि हामी आत्माद्वारा जिउँछौँ भने, हामी आत्माद्वारा नै हिँडौँ ।
If we live by Spirit, by Spirit, let us also walk.
26 हामी अहङ्कारी नबनौँ; एक अर्कालाई रिस नउठाऔँ; वा एक अर्काको ईर्ष्या नगरौँ ।
Let us not become vain-glorious, —one another, challenging, one another, envying.
