गलाती 4
1 मैले यो भनिरहेको छु, कि उत्तराधिकारी बालकै भएसम्म ऊ सारा सम्पत्तिको मालिक भए तापनि ऊ कमारो भन्दा फरक हुँदैन ।
But I say: —for as long a time as, the heir, is an infant, he differeth, nothing, from a servant, though, lord of all,
2 बरु, उसको बुबाले निर्धारण गरेको समयसम्म ऊ अभिभावकहरू र संरक्षकहरूको मुनि हुन्छ ।
But is, under guardians, and stewards, until the [day] fore-appointed of the father:
3 यसरी नै, हामीहरू पनि जब बालक थियौँ, यस जगत्का आधारभूत सिद्धान्तहरूको बन्धनमा थियौँ ।
So also, we, when we were infants, under the elementary principles of the world, were held in servitude;
4 तर जब ठिक समय आयो, तब परमेश्वरले व्यवस्थाअनुसार स्त्रीबाट जन्मनुभएका उहाँका पुत्रलाई पठाउनुभयो ।
But, when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, who came to be of a woman, who came to be under law, —
5 हामी धर्मपुत्रको रूपमा स्वीकारिऔँ भनेर उहाँले व्यवस्थामुनि भएकाहरूलाई छुटकारा दिनको निम्ति यसो गर्नुभयो ।
That, them who were under law, he might redeem, that, the sonship, we might duly receive; —
6 तिमीहरू पुत्रहरू भएका हुनाले परमेश्वरले उहाँका पुत्रको आत्मालाई हाम्रा हृदयहरूमा पठाउनुभयो, त्यो आत्मा जसले, “अब्बा, पिता” भनेर पुकार्नुहुन्छ ।
And, because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, exclaiming, Abba! Oh Father!
7 यसैकारणले गर्दा, अब तिमी दास होइनौ, तर पुत्र हौ । यदि तिमी पुत्र हौ भने, तिमी परमेश्वरको एक उत्तराधिकारी पनि हौ ।
So that, no longer, art thou a servant, but a son; and, if a son, an heir also, through God.
8 तर पहिले जब तिमीहरूले परमेश्वरलाई चिन्दैन थियौ, तिमीहरू तिनीहरूका दास थियौ जो स्वभावैले ईश्वरहरू होइनन् ।
But, at that time—not knowing God, ye were in servitude unto them who, by nature, are not Gods;
9 तर अहिले तिमीहरूले परमेश्वरलाई चिन्दछौ वा निश्चय नै तिमीहरू परमेश्वरद्वारा चिनिएका छौ भने, किन तिमीहरू फेरि कमजोर र मूल्यहीन आधारभूत सिद्धान्तहरूतर्फ फर्किरहेका छौ? के तिमीहरू फेरि दास हुने चाहना गर्छौ?
Whereas, now, having acknowledged God, —or rather, having been acknowledged by God, how turn ye back again unto the weak and beggarly elementary principles, unto which, over again, ye are wishing, to come into servitude?
10 तिमीहरूले ध्यानपूर्वक विशेष दिनहरू, औँसी, ऋतुहरू र वर्षहरूलाई मान्दछौ ।
Days, ye do narrowly observer, and months, and seasons, and years: —
11 म तिमीहरूका लागि चिन्ता गर्दछु । म यो चिन्ता गर्दछु, कि मैले तिमीहरूमाथि व्यर्थमा मेहनत गरेँ ।
I am afraid of you—lest by any means, in vain, I should have toiled for you!
12 भाइहरू हो, म यो बिन्ती गर्दछु, कि म जस्तो छु तिमीहरू पनि त्यस्तै होओ, किनकि म पनि तिमीहरूजस्तै भएको छु । तिमीहरूले मप्रति कुनै खराबी गरेका छैनौ ।
Become ye as, I, because, I also, [was] as, ye, —brethren, I entreat you. Not at all, have ye wronged me.
13 तर तिमीहरू यो कुरा जान्दछौ, कि मेरो शारीरिक बिमारीको कारण मैले तिमीहरूलाई पहिलो पटक सुसमाचार घोषणा गरेँ ।
Howbeit ye know that, by reason of a weakness of the flesh, I myself announced the glad-message unto you, formerly;
14 मेरो शारीरिक अवस्थाले तिमीहरूलाई परीक्षा ल्याए तापनि तिमीहरूले मेरो उपेक्षा गरेनौ वा मलाई इन्कार गरेनौ । त्यसको सट्टामा, तिमीहरूले म नै ख्रीष्ट येशू भएझैँ गरी मलाई परमेश्वरका स्वर्गदूतको रूपमा स्वीकार गर्यौ ।
And, your trial, in my flesh, ye despised not, neither spat ye [in disgust], but, as a messenger of God, ye welcomed me—as Christ Jesus.
15 त्यसकारण, अब तिमीहरूको आनन्द कहाँ छ? किनकि तिमीहरूको विषयमा म यो गवाही दिन्छु, कि सम्भव भए त तिमीहरूले मलाई आफ्नो आँखा निकालेर दिने थियौ ।
Where, then, is the happiness ye accounted yours? For I bear you witness—that, if possible, your eyes, ye would have dug out, and given unto me.
16 मैले तिमीहरूलाई सत्यता बताएको कारण, के म अब तिमीहरूको शत्रु भएँ त?
So then, your enemy, have I become, by dealing truthfully with you?
17 तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई उत्कट इच्छाले खोज्दछन्, तर कुनै भलाइको लागि होइन । तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पछ्याउनेछौ भनेर तिनीहरूले मबाट तिमीहरूलाई अलग गर्न चाहन्छन् ।
They shew a zeal for you, not honourably, but wish, to shut you out, in order that ye may be zealous for, them.
18 म तिमीहरूको उपस्थितिमा रहँदा मात्र नभएर सधैँ नै असल अभिप्रायको निम्ति उत्कट इच्छा राख्नु असल हुन्छ ।
Howbeit it is, honourable, to show zeal in what is honourable at all times, and not only when I am present with you; —
19 मेरा साना बालकहरू हो, तिमीहरूभित्र ख्रीष्ट नबनिनुभएसम्म मैले फेरि तिमीहरूका निम्ति प्रसव वेदनाको पीडा भोगिरहेको छु ।
My dear children! for whom I, again, am in birth-pains, until Christ be formed within you; —
20 म अब तिमीहरूकहाँ उपस्थिति हुन चाहन्छु र मेरो बोलीलाई परिवर्तन गर्न चाहन्छु, किनकि म तिमीहरूको विषयमा अन्योलमा परेको छु ।
I could wish, however, to be present with you, even now, and to change my voice, —because I am perplexed regarding you.
21 तिमीहरू जो व्यवस्थाको अधीनमा रहने इच्छा गर्दछौ, मलाई यो बताओ, कि व्यवस्थाले के भन्दछ भन्ने कुरा के तिमीहरूले सुन्दैनौ?
Tell me! ye who, under law, are wishing to be: The law, do ye not hear?
22 किनकि यस्तो लेखिएको छ, कि अब्राहामका दुई जना छोरा थिए, एक जना दासी स्त्रीबाट र अर्कोचाहिँ स्वतन्त्र स्त्रीबाट ।
For it is written, that, Abraham, had two sons—one by the bondmaid, and one by the free woman;
23 तथापि, दासीबाटको चाहिँ केवल शरीरद्वारा जन्मिएको थियो, तर स्वतन्त्र स्त्रीबाटको चाहिँ प्रतिज्ञाद्वारा जन्मिएको थियो ।
But, he that was of the bondmaid, after the flesh, had been born, whereas, he that was of the free woman, through means of a promise.
24 यी कुराहरूलाई एउटा रूपक दृष्टान्तद्वारा वर्णन गर्न सकिन्छ, किनकि यी दुई स्त्री दुईवटा प्रतिज्ञाझैँ हुन् । तिनीहरूमध्ये एक जनाचाहिँ सीनै पर्वतबाट हो । तिनले यस्ता छोराछोरीहरू जन्माउँछिन्, जो दासहरू हुन् । तिनी हागार हुन् ।
Which things, indeed, may bear another meaning; for, the same, are two covenants, —one, indeed, from Mount Sinai, into bondage, bringing forth, the which is Hagar, —
25 अहिले हागारचाहिँ अरबको सीनै पर्वत हो । तिनले वर्तमान यरूशलेमको सङ्केत गर्छिन्, किनकि तिनी तिनका छोराछोरीहरूसँगै दासत्वमा छिन् ।
And, the Hagar, is Mount Sinai, in Arabia, —she answereth, however, unto the present Jerusalem, for she is in bondage with her children;
26 तर माथि रहेको यरूशलेम स्वतन्त्र छ, जोचाहिँ हाम्री आमा हुन् ।
But, the Jerusalem above, is free, —the which is our mother;
27 किनकि यस्तो लेखिएको छ, “ए बाँझी स्त्री, जसले जन्म दिन सक्दिनन्, आनन्द मनाओ । तिमी जसले बालक जन्माउने अनुभव पाएकी छैनौ, मन खोल र आनन्दले कराऊ । किनकि त्यस बाँझीका पति भएकाहरूका भन्दा पनि धेरै छोराछोरीहरू छन् ।”
For it is written—Be gladdened, O barren one! that wast not giving birth, break forth and shout, thou that wast not in birth-pains, —because, more, are the children of the deserted one, than of her that had the husband.
28 भाइहरू हो, अब तिमीहरू पनि इसहाकजस्तै प्रतिज्ञाका छोराछोरीहरू हौ ।
And, we, brethren, after the manner of Isaac, are children of a promise.
29 त्यो समयमा शरीरअनुसार जन्मेकोले आत्माअनुसार जन्मेकोलाई सतायो । अहिले पनि यस्तै नै छ ।
But, just as, then, he that after the manner of the flesh had been born, did persecute him who [had been born] after the manner of the Spirit, thus, also now.
30 धर्मशास्त्रले के भन्दछ? “दासी स्त्री र तिनको पुत्रलाई निकालिदेओ । किनकि दासी स्त्रीको पुत्रले स्वतन्त्र स्त्रीको पुत्रसँगै समान उत्तराधिकार प्राप्त गर्नेछैन ।”
But, what saith the scripture? Cast out the serving woman and her son; for in nowise shall the son of the serving woman inherit with the son of the free.
31 त्यसकारण, भाइहरू हो, हामी दासी स्त्रीका छोराछोरीहरू होइनौँ, तर स्वतन्त्र स्त्रीका छोराछोरीहरू हौँ ।
Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a serving woman, but of the free: —
