प्रस्थान 33
1 तब परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो, “मिश्र देशबाट तैँले ल्याएका मानिसहरूसँगै यहाँबाट जा । त्यो देशमा जा जसको विषयमा 'म तेरा सन्तानहरूलाई यो दिनेछु' भनी अब्राहाम, इसहाक, र याकूबसित मैले शपथ खाएको थिएँ ।
And the LORD said to Moses, Depart [and] go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast conducted from the land of Egypt, to the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, to thy seed will I give it:
2 म तेरो अगिअगि एउटा दूत पठाउनेछु, र कनानी, एमोरी, हित्ती, परिज्जी, हिव्वी र यबूसीहरूलाई म त्यहाँबाट धपाउनेछु ।
And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
3 दूध र मह बग्ने त्यस देशमा जा तर मचाहिँ तिमीहरूसँग जानेछैनँ किनकि तिमीहरू हठी मानिसहरू हौ । मैले तिमीहरूलाई बाटैमा नाश गर्न पनि सक्छु ।”
To a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou [art] a stiff-necked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
4 जब मानिसहरूले यी भयभीत तुल्याउने वचनहरू सुने तिनीहरूले विलाप गरे र कसैले पनि गरगहना लगाएन ।
And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man put on him his ornaments.
5 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो, “इस्राएलीहरूलाई भन्, 'तिमीहरू हठी मानिसहरू हौ । म तिमीहरूका बिचमा एकै क्षण मात्र गएँ भने पनि मैले तिमीहरूलाई नष्ट गर्न सक्छु । त्यसैले, तिमीहरूले आ-आफ्ना गरगहना फुकाल ताकि तिमीहरूलाई के गर्ने भनी मैले निधो गर्न सकूँ' ।”
For the LORD had said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, Ye [are] a stiff-necked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do to thee.
6 त्यसैले होरेब पर्वतदेखि इस्राएलीहरूले गरगहना लगाएनन् ।
And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments, by the mount Horeb.
7 मोशाले पाल लिएर छाउनीभन्दा अलि पर त्यसलाई टाँगे । तिनले यसलाई भेट हुने पाल भने । परमप्रभुलाई कुनै पनि थोकको लागि बिन्ती चढाउन चाहने हरेक व्यक्ति छाउनीबाहिर यही भेट हुने पालमा जान्थ्यो ।
And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp far from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, [that] every one who sought the LORD, went out to the tabernacle of the congregation, which [was] without the camp.
8 मोशा पालमा जाँदा सबै मानिस तिनीहरूको पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा खडा हुन्थे र मोशा भित्र प्रवेश नगरुञ्जेलसम्म तिनलाई हेर्ने गर्थे ।
And it came to pass when Moses went out to the tabernacle, [that] all the people rose, and stood every man at his tent-door, and looked after Moses, until he had gone into the tabernacle.
9 मोशा पालभित्र प्रवेश गर्दा बादलको खाँबो तल झरी पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा अडिन्थ्यो, अनि परमप्रभु मोशासित बोल्नुहुन्थ्यो ।
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood [at] the door of the tabernacle, and [the LORD] talked with Moses.
10 कुनै पनि बेला पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा सबै मानिसले बादलको खाँबो देख्दा हरेक व्यक्ति आ-आफ्नो पालको प्रवेशद्वारमा खडा भई त्यसले उहाँको आराधना गर्थ्यो ।
And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand [at] the tabernacle door: and all the people rose and worshiped, every man [in] his tent-door.
11 एउटा मानिस आफ्नो साथीसित बोलेजस्तै परमप्रभु आमनेसामने मोशासित बोल्नुहुन्थ्यो । तब मोशा छाउनीमा फर्कन्थे तर तिनका जवान दास अर्थात् नूनका छोरा यहोशूचाहिँ पालमै बस्थे ।
And the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend. And he turned again into the camp; but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
12 मोशाले परमप्रभुलाई भने, “हेर्नुहोस्, तपाईं मलाई भन्दै हुनुहुन्छ, 'यी मानिसहरूलाई यात्रामा लिएर जा,' तर तपाईंले मसँगै कसलाई पठाउनुहुनेछ भनी बताउनुभएको छैन । तपाईंले भन्नुभएको छ, 'म तँलाई नामद्वारै चिन्छु, र तैँले मेरो दृष्टिमा निगाह पाएको छस् ।'
And Moses said to the LORD, See, thou sayest to me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
13 अब मैले तपाईंको दृष्टिमा निगाह पाएको छु भने मलाई तपाईंका मार्गहरू देखाउनुहोस् ताकि तपाईंलाई जान्न सकूँ र तपाईंको दृष्टिमा निगाह पाइरहन सकूँ । यो जाति तपाईंका मानिसहरू हुन् भनी याद गर्नुहोस् ।”
Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation [is] thy people.
14 परमप्रभुले जवाफ दिनुभयो, “मेरो आफ्नै उपस्थिति तँसँगै जानेछ, र म तँलाई विश्राम दिनेछु ।”
And he said, My presence shall attend [thee], and I will give thee rest.
15 मोशाले उहाँलाई भने, “तपाईंको उपस्थिति मसँगै जाँदैन भने हामीलाई यहाँबाट नलैजानुहोस् ।
And he said to him, If thy presence shall not attend me, conduct us not hence.
16 किनकि नत्रता म र मेरा मानिसहरूले तपाईंको दृष्टिमा निगाह पाएका छौँ भनी हामीले कसरी थाहा पाउने? पृथ्वीको सतहमा भएका सबै जातिभन्दा तपाईंको जाति र म अलग छु भनेर थाहा पाउने कुरो भनेको तपाईं हामीसँग गएर मात्र हुने होइन र?”
For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? [Is it] not in that thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that [are] upon the face of the earth.
17 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो, “तैँले अनुरोध गरेको यस कुरालाई पनि म मान्नेछु किनकि तैँले मेरो दृष्टिमा निगाह पाएको छस्, र म तँलाई नामले नै चिन्छु ।”
And the LORD said to Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
18 मोशाले भने, “कृपया, मलाई तपाईंको महिमा देखाइदिनुहोस् ।”
And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory.
19 परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “म तेरै सामु मेरा सबै भलाइ देखाउनेछु, र तेरै सामु मेरो नाउँ 'परमप्रभु' हो भनी घोषणा गर्नेछु । जससित म अनुग्रही हुन चाहन्छु, त्यससित म अनुग्रही हुनेछु, र जसलाई म कृपा देखाउन चाहन्छु, म त्यसलाई कृपा देखाउनेछु ।”
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
20 तर परप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “तैँले मेरो अनुहार देख्न सक्दैनस् किनकि मेरो अनुहार देखेर कोही पनि जीवित रहन सक्दैन ।”
And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “हेर्, मेरो छेउमा एउटा ठाउँ छ । तँ यो चट्टानमा खडा हो ।
And the LORD said, Behold, [there is] a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 मेरो महिमा त्यहाँबाट भएर जाँदा म तँलाई चट्टानको धाँदोमा राख्नेछु र म त्यहाँबाट नगएसम्म तँलाई मेरा हातले ढाकिराख्नेछ ।
And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock: and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 त्यसपछि म मेरो हात निकाल्नेछु, र तैँले मेरो पिठिउँ देख्नेछस्, तर मेरो अनुहारचाहिँ देख्नेछैनस् ।”
And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
