प्रस्थान 21
1 “अब तैँले तिनीहरूका सामु राख्ने आदेशहरू यी नै हुन्:
Now these are the lawes, which thou shalt set before them:
2 तिमीहरूले हिब्रू कमारा किन्यौ भने त्यसले छ वर्षसम्म सेवा गर्नुपर्छ, र सातौँ वर्षमा केही नतिरी त्यो मुक्त हुनेछ ।
If thou bye an Ebrewe seruant, he shall serue sixe yeres, and in the seuenth he shall go out free, for nothing.
3 त्यो एक्लै आएको हो भने त्यो एक्लै जाओस् । त्यो विवाहित हो भने त्यो आफ्नी पत्नीसँगै जाओस् ।
If he came himselfe alone, he shall goe out himselfe alone: if hee were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4 त्यसका मालिकले त्यसलाई पत्नी दिएका भए र त्यसले पतिको निम्ति छोराछोरीहरू जन्माएकी भए पत्नी र त्यसका छोराछोरीहरू मालिकको हुनेछन्, तर पतिचाहिँ मुक्त हुनेछ ।
If his master haue giuen him a wife, and she hath borne him sonnes or daughters, he wife and her children shalbe her masters, but he shall goe out himselfe alone.
5 तर कमाराले सफासँग “म मेरा मालिक, मेरी पत्नी र मेरा छोराछोरीलाई प्रेम गर्छु; म मुक्त भएर जान्नँ”
But if the seruant saye thus, I loue my master, my wife and my children, I will not goe out free,
6 भन्यो भने त्यसका मालिकले त्यसलाई परमेश्वरको सामु ल्याउनुपर्छ । मालिकले त्यसलाई ढोका वा ढोकाको सङ्घारमा ल्याई त्यसको कान सुतारोले छेडिदिनुपर्छ । तब त्यस कमाराले जीवनभर मालिकको सेवा गर्नेछ ।
Then his master shall bring him vnto the Iudges, and set him to the dore, or to the poste, and his master shall bore his eare through with a nawle, and he shall serue him for euer.
7 कुनै मानिसले आफ्नी छोरीलाई कमारीको रूपमा बेच्यो भने कमाराहरूजस्तै त्यो मुक्त भएर जानुहुँदैन ।
Likewise if a man sell his daughter to be a seruant, she shall not goe out as the men seruantes doe.
8 त्यसले आफ्ना मालिकलाई खुसी पारिन भने त्यसलाई मोल तिरेर छुटाइयोस् । त्यसलाई परदेशीकहाँ बेच्ने अधिकार मालिकलाई हुँदैन । मालिकले त्यसलाई छलपूर्वक व्यवहार गरेकोले त्योसित त्यस्तो अधिकार हुँदैन ।
If shee please not her master, who hath betrothed her to him selfe, then shall hee cause to buy her: hee shall haue no power to sell her to a strange people, seeing he despised her.
9 मालिकले त्यसलाई आफ्नो छोरोकी पत्नी हुन दियो भने त्यसलाई आफ्नी छोरीलाई जस्तै व्यवहार गरोस् ।
But if he hath betrothed her vnto his sonne, he shall deale with her according to the custome of the daughters.
10 त्यसले आफ्नो लागि अर्की पत्नी ल्यायो भने त्यसले खानेकुरा, लुगाफाटा वा त्यसका वैवाहिक अधिकारहरू पुरा गर्नबाट नचुकोस् ।
If he take him another wife, he shall not diminish her foode, her rayment, and recompence of her virginitie.
11 तर त्यसले पत्नीलाई यी तिनवटा कुरा उपलब्ध गराएन भने दाम नतिरीकनै त्यो मुक्त भएर जान सक्छे ।
And if he do not these three vnto her, the shall she go out free, paying no money.
12 कसैले कुनै मानिसलाई मर्ने गरी हिर्कायो भने त्यसलाई निश्चय नै मारिनैपर्छ ।
He that smiteth a man, and he die, shall dye the death.
13 त्यसले जानाजानी यसो नगरी भवितव्य पर्न गएको रहेछ भने म त्यो भागेर जान सक्ने ठाउँ तोकिदिनेछु ।
And if a man hath not layed wayte, but God hath offered him into his hande, then I wil appoynt thee a place whither he shall flee.
14 कुनै मानिसले जानाजानी आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई आक्रमण गरी धूर्त योजनामुताबिक मार्यो भने त्यो परमेश्वरको वेदीमा भए तापनि त्यसलाई मार्नलाई लगियोस् ।
But if a man come presumptuously vpon his neighbour to slay him with guile, thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
15 आफ्नो बुबा वा आमालाई हिर्काउने जोसुकै पनि निश्चय नै मारिनैपर्छ ।
Also hee that smiteth his father or his mother, shall die the death.
16 जसले कुनै व्यक्तिलाई अपहरण गरी त्यसले उसलाई बेच्यो वा पक्रिँदा त्यसकै हातमा फेला पर्यो भने अपहरणकारीलाई मारिनैपर्छ ।
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, if it be founde with him, shall die the death.
17 आफ्नो बुबा वा आमालाई सराप्ने जोसुकै पनि निश्चय नै मारिनैपर्छ ।
And hee that curseth his father or his mother, shall die the death.
18 मानिसहरू एक-अर्कासित झगडा गर्दा एउटाले अर्कोलाई ढुङ्गाले वा मुक्काले हिर्कायो र त्यो व्यक्ति नमरी ओछ्यान पर्यो
When men also striue together, and one smite another with a stone, or with the fist, and he die not, but lieth in bed,
19 र त्यो फेरि उठेर आफ्नो लट्ठीको सहायताले यताउता हिँड्न सक्यो भने हिर्काउनेले त्यसको समयको हर्जाना तिर्नुपर्छ । त्यसले ऊ पूर्ण निको नभएसम्म सबै खर्च पनि दिनुपर्छ । तर त्यो मानिस हत्याको दोषी भने हुँदैन ।
If hee rise againe and walke without vpon his staffe, then shall he that smote him go quite, saue onely hee shall beare his charges for his resting, and shall pay for his healing.
20 कुनै मानिसले आफ्नो कमारा वा कमारीलाई लट्ठीले हिर्काउँदा मुक्का लागेर मर्यो भने त्यस मानिसलाई निश्चय नै दण्ड दिइनुपर्छ ।
And if a man smite his seruant, or his maide with a rod, and he die vnder his hande, he shalbe surely punished.
21 तर त्यो एक-दुई दिनसम्म बाँच्यो भने मालिकलाई दण्ड दिइनुहुँदैन किनकि उसले नोकरको क्षति भोग्नेछ ।
But if he continue a day, or two dayes, hee shall not be punished: for he is his money.
22 मानिसहरू सँगसँगै झगडा गर्दा गर्भवती महिलालाई हानि पुगी त्यसको बच्चा तुहियो तर त्यो आफैलाई कुनै चोट लागेन भने त्यस स्त्रीको पतिले मागेबमोजिम दोषी मानिसलाई हर्जाना तिराइनुपर्छ, र न्यायकर्ताहरूले तोकेबमोजिम त्यसले तिर्नुपर्छ ।
Also if men striue and hurt a woman with childe, so that her childe depart from her, and death follow not, hee shall bee surely punished according as the womans husband shall appoynt him, or he shall pay as the Iudges determine.
23 तर गम्भीर चोट लागेको रहेछ भने त्यस मानिसलाई प्राणको सट्टा प्राण
But if death follow, then thou shalt paye life for life,
24 आँखाको सट्टा आँखा, दाँतको सट्टा दाँत, हातको सट्टा हात, खुट्टाको सट्टा खुट्टा
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hande for hand, foote for foote,
25 डामको सट्टा डाम, चोटको सट्टा चोट र कुटाइको सट्टा कुटाइ मिलोस् ।
Burning for burning, wound for wounde, stripe for stripe.
26 कुनै मानिसले आफ्नो कमारा वा कमारीको आँखामा हिर्काएर त्यसलाई नष्ट गरिदियो भने उसले आँखाको साटो त्यसलाई स्वतन्त्र भएर जान दिओस् ।
And if a man smite his seruant in the eie, or his maide in the eye, and hath perished it, hee shall let him goe free for his eye.
27 उसले आफ्नो कमारा वा कमारीको दाँत निकालिदियो भने उसले दाँतको साटो त्यसलाई स्वतन्त्र भएर जान दिओस् ।
Also if he smite out his seruants tooth, or his maides tooth, he shall let him goe out free for his tooth.
28 कुनै गोरुले पुरुष वा स्त्रीलाई सिङले हानेर मार्यो भने त्यसलाई ढुङ्गाले हानेर मारिनुपर्छ, र त्यसको मासु खाइनुहुँदैन ।
If an oxe gore a man or a woman, that he die, the oxe shalbe stoned to death, and his flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner of the oxe shall goe quite.
29 तर गोरुको मालिकचाहिँ निर्दोष होस् । तर गोरुको विगतमा हान्ने बानी थियो र त्यसको मालिकलाई यसबारे चेताउनी दिँदा पनि उसले बाँधेर राखेको रहेनछ र गोरुले पुरुष वा महिलालाई मार्यो भने त्यसलाई ढुङ्गाले हानेर मारिनैपर्छ र त्यसको मालिकलाई पनि मारिनैपर्छ ।
If the oxe were wont to push in times past, and it hath bene tolde his master, and hee hath not kept him, and after he killeth a man or a woman, the oxe shall be stoned, and his owner shall die also.
30 त्यसको जीवनको लागि कुनै मूल्य माग गरिएको छ भने मागेजति मालिकले दिनुपर्छ ।
If there be set to him a summe of mony, then he shall pay the raunsome of his life, whatsoeuer shalbe laied vpon him.
31 गोरुले कुनै मानिसको छोरो वा छोरीलाई हानेको छ भने त्यसको मालिकले नियमअनुसार तिर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ ।
Whether he hath gored a sonne or gored a daughter, he shalbe iudged after the same maner.
32 गोरुले कमारा वा कमारीलाई हान्यो भने त्यसको मालिकले चाँदीको तिस सिक्का देओस् र गोरुलाई चाहिँ ढुङ्गाले हानेर मारियोस् ।
If the oxe gore a seruant or a mayde, hee shall giue vnto their master thirtie shekels of siluer, and the oxe shalbe stoned.
33 कुनै मानिसले खाडललाई उदाङ्गै राख्यो वा त्यसले खाडल खनेर त्यसलाई ढाकेन र त्यसभित्र गोरु वा गधा खस्यो भने
And when a man shall open a well, or when he shall dig a pit and couer it not, and an oxe or an asse fall therein,
34 खाडल खन्नेले हर्जाना तिर्नुपर्छ । त्यसले मृत पशुको मालिकलाई रुपियाँ तिर्नपर्छ र त्यो मरेको पशु त्यसको हुनेछ ।
The owner of the pit shall make it good, and giue money to the owners thereof, but the dead beast shalbe his.
35 एउटा मान्छेको गोरुले अर्को मान्छेको गोरुलाई चोट पुर्याएर त्यो मर्यो भने त्यसले जिउँदो गोरुलाई बेची तिनीहरूले त्यसको मूल्य बाँडफाँड गर्नुपर्छ र तिनीहरूले मरेको गोरुलाई पनि बाँडफाँड गर्नुपर्छ ।
And if a mans oxe hurt his neighbours oxe that he die, then they shall sel the liue oxe, and deuide the money thereof, and the dead oxe also they shall deuide.
36 तर त्यस गोरुको विगतमा पनि हान्ने बानी रहेछ र त्यसको मालिकले त्यसलाई बाँधेर राखेको रहेनछ भनी थाहा हुन आयो उसले गोरुको सट्टा गोरु तिर्नुपर्छ अनि मरेको पशु त्यसको मालिकको हुनेछ ।
Or if it bee knowen that the oxe hath vsed to push in times past, and his master hath not kept him, he shall pay oxe for oxe, but the dead shall be his owne.
