एफिसि 5
1 त्यसकारण परमेश्वरका प्रिय छोरा-छोरीहरू झैँ उहाँको अनुकरण गर्ने होओ ।
Therefore imitate God, as his dear children,
2 र ख्रीष्टले हामीलाई प्रेम गर्नुभएर आफैँलाई हाम्रो निम्ति दिनुभए झैँ तिमीहरू प्रेममा हिँड । परमेश्वरको निम्ति सुगन्धित सुवास्ना हुनको निम्ति उहाँ एक भेटी र बलिदान हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
and live a life of love, following the example of the Christ, who loved you and gave himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God, that should be fragrant and acceptable.
3 जस्तो विश्वासीहरूका लागि उपयुक्त हुन्छ, तिमीहरूको बिचमा कामुक अनैतिकता वा कुनै अशुद्धता वा कामवासनाको लालसाको बारेमा चर्चा नहोस् ।
As for sexual immorality and every kind of impurity, or greed, do not let them even be mentioned among you, as befits Christ’s people,
4 नकि अश्लिलता, मूर्ख बोली वा अपमानजनक ठट्यौलीहरू होस् जुनचाहिँ अनुचित छन् । बरु धन्यवाद दिने काम होस् ।
nor shameful conduct, nor foolish talk or jesting, for they are wholly out of place among you; but rather thanksgiving.
5 तिमीहरूले यो निश्चय गर, कि कुनै कामुक रूपमा अनैतिक, अशुद्ध, वा लालसित व्यक्तिले ख्रीष्ट र परमेश्वरको राज्यमा कुनै उत्तराधिकार पाउँदैन, किनकि त्यो मूर्तिपूजक हो ।
For of this you may be sure – that no one who is unchaste or impure or greedy of gain (for to be greedy of gain is idolatry) has any place awaiting him in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
6 तिमीहरूलाई कसैले पनि फोस्रा कुराहरूले धोखा नदिओस् । यी कुराहरूको कारण अनाज्ञाकारिताका पुत्रहरूमा परमेश्वरको क्रोध आउनेछ ।
Do not let anyone deceive you with specious arguments. Those are the sins that bring down the wrath of God on the disobedient.
7 यसैले गर्दा तिनीहरूसँग सहभागी नहोओ ।
Therefore have nothing to do with such people.
8 किनकि तिमीहरू एकचोटी अन्धकार थियौ, तर अब तिमीहरू परमप्रभुमा ज्योति भएका छौ । यसैले ज्योतिका सन्तान जस्तै गरी हिँड ।
For, although you were once in darkness, now, by your union with the Lord, you are in the light. Live as children of light –
9 किनकि ज्योतिको फल सबै भलाइ, धार्मिकता र सत्यतामा हुन्छ ।
for the outcome of life in the light may be seen in every form of goodness, righteousness, and sincerity –
10 परमप्रभुलाई खुशी तुल्याउने कुराहरू पत्ता लगाऊ ।
always trying to find out what is pleasing to the Lord.
11 अन्धकारका फलहिन कार्यहरूमा सहभागी नहोओ । बरु, तिनीहरूलाई प्रकट गर ।
Take no part in deeds of darkness, from which no good can come; on the contrary, expose them.
12 किनकि तिनीहरूद्वारा गोप्यमा गरिएका कार्यहरू वर्णन गर्न पनि लाजमर्दो छ ।
It is degrading even to speak of the things continually done by them in secret.
13 सबै थोक जब ज्योतिमा आउँछन्, तब ती प्रकट हुन्छन्,
All such actions, when exposed, have their true character made manifest by the light.
14 किनकि प्रकट भएका सबै कुरा ज्योतिमा प्रकाशमान हुन्छन् । त्यसकारण यस्तो भनिएको छ कि, “सुताहा हो जाग, र मरेकाहरूबाट उठ, र ख्रीष्ट तिमीमा चम्कनुहुनेछ ।”
For everything that has its true character made manifest is clear as light. And that is why it is said – ‘Sleeper, awake! Arise from the dead, and the Christ will give you light!’
15 त्यसकारण तिमी कसरी हिँड्छौ भन्ने कुरामा होसियार होओ, मूर्ख जस्तो होइन तर बुद्धिमानजस्तो ।
Take great care, then, how you live – not unwisely but wisely,
16 समयलाई बचाओ, किनकि दिनहरू खराब छन् ।
making the most of every opportunity; for these are evil days.
17 मूर्ख नबन । बरु, प्रभुको इच्छा के हो, सो बुझ ।
Therefore do not grow thoughtless, but try to understand what the Lord’s will is.
18 र दाखमद्यले नमात्तीओ, किनकि त्यसले विनाशतर्फ डोर्याउँछ । तर त्यसको सट्टामा, पवित्र आत्माले भरिओ ।
Do not drink wine to excess, for that leads to profligacy; but seek to be filled with the Spirit of God, and speak to one another in psalms and hymns and sacred songs.
19 एक-अर्कामा भजनहरूमा र आत्मिक गीतहरूमा बोल । परमप्रभुको निम्ति तिमीहरूका हृदयमा गीतहरू गाउँदै प्रशंसा गर ।
Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.
20 येशू ख्रीष्टको नाउँमा, सधैँ सबै कुराहरूको निम्ति पिता परमेश्वरलाई धन्यवाद चढाओ ।
Always give thanks for everything to our God and Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21 ख्रीष्टको आदरको लागि एकअर्काको अधिनमा रहो ।
Submit to one another because you honor and respect Christ.
22 पत्नीहरू हो, प्रभुको अधीनमा रहे जस्तो आफ्ना पतिहरूको अधीनमा बस ।
Wives should submit to their husbands as submitting to the Lord.
23 किनकि पति पत्नीको शिर हो, जसरी ख्रीष्ट पनि मण्डलीको शिर हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँ शरीरको उद्धारकर्ता हुनुहुन्छ ।
For a man is the head of his wife, as the Christ is the head of the church – being indeed himself the Savior of his body.
24 तर जसरी मण्डली ख्रीष्टप्रति समर्पित छ, त्यसरी नै पत्नीहरूलेपनि आफ्ना पतिहरूप्रति सबैथोकमा त्यसै गर्नुपर्दछ ।
But as the church submits to the Christ, so also should wives submit to their husbands in everything.
25 पतिहरू हो, जसरी ख्रीष्टले मण्डलीलाई प्रेम गर्नुभयो र आफैँलाई तिनको निम्ति समर्पित गर्नुभयो, त्यसरी नै आफ्ना पत्नीहरूलाई प्रेम गर ।
Husbands, love your wives, just as the Christ loved the church, and gave himself for her,
26 उहाँले तिनलाई पवित्र गर्न यसो गर्नुभयो । उहाँले तिनलाई वचनमा पानीले धोएर शुद्ध पार्नुभयो ।
to make her holy, after purifying her by the washing with the water, according to his promise;
27 दागरहित वा चाउरी नभएको वा अन्य यस्ता कुनै थोक नभएको, तर पवित्र र दोषरहित, महिमित मण्डली आफ्नै निम्ति प्रस्तुत गर्नको निम्ति उहाँले यस्तो गर्नुभयो ।
so that he might himself bring the church, in all her beauty, into his own presence, with no spot or wrinkle or blemish of any kind, but that she might be holy and faultless.
28 यस्तै प्रकारले पतिहरूले तिनीहरूका आफ्ना पत्नीहरूलाई आफ्ना शरीरलाई जस्तै प्रेम गर्नुपर्छ । आफ्नो पत्नीलाई प्रेम गर्नेले आफैँलाई प्रेम गर्छ ।
That is how husbands ought to love their wives – as if they were their own bodies. A man who loves his wife is really loving himself;
29 कहिल्यै पनि कसैले आफ्नो शरीरलाई घृणा गरेको छैन । बरु, उसले यसलाई पालन-पोषण गरेर प्रेम गर्दछ, जसरी ख्रीष्टले पनि मण्डलीलाई प्रेम गर्नुहुन्छ ।
for no one ever yet hated his own body. But everyone feeds his body and cares for it, just as the Christ for the church;
30 किनकि हामी उहाँका शरीरका सदस्यहरू हौँ ।
for we are members of his body.
31 “यसैकारणले गर्दा एकजना मानिसले उसको बुबा र आमालाई छोड्नेछ र उसको पत्नीसँग मिल्नेछ, र ती दुई एउटै शरीर हुनेछन् ।”
For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and be united to his wife; and the man and his wife will become one.
32 यो एउटा महान् गुप्त सत्यता हो, तर मैले ख्रीष्ट र उहाँको मण्डलीको बारेमा बताइरहेको छु ।
In this there is a profound truth – I am speaking of Christ and his church.
33 तथापि, तिमीहरू प्रत्येकले आफ्ना पत्नीलाई आफूलाई जस्तै प्रेम गर्नुपर्छ, र पत्नीले पतिलाई सम्मान गर्नुपर्छ ।
However, for you individually, let each love his wife as if she were himself; and the wife be careful to respect her husband.
