व्यवस्था 9

1 हे इस्राएल हो, सुन । तिमीहरूभन्दा महान् र शक्तिशाली जातिहरू अनि आकाशै छुने पर्खाल लगाएका ठुला-ठुला सहरहरूमाथि अधिकार गर्न आज तिमीहरूले यर्दन पार गर्नै लागेका छौ ।

Hear, O Israel: You go this day across Jordan to inherit nations greater and stronger than yourselves, cities great and walled up to heaven;

2 तिनीहरू महान् र अग्ला छन् जो अनाकका छोराहरू हुन् जसको बारेमा तिमीहरूलाई थाहै छ र 'अनाकका छोराहरूको सामु को खडा हुन सक्छ?' भनी तिमीहरूले सुनेकै छौ ।

a people great and many and tall, the sons of Enac, whom you know, and concerning whom you have heard [say], Who can stand before the children of Enac?

3 त्यसकारण, आज यो जानिराख कि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वर नै भस्म गर्ने आगोजस्तै तिमीहरूभन्दा अगिअगि जानुहुन्छ । उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई नष्‍ट पार्नुहुने छ, र तिमीहरूको अधीनमा ल्याउनुहुने छ । त्यसैले परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई भन्‍नुभएझैँ तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई धपाउने छौ, र तिनीहरूलाई चाँडै नै नष्‍ट पार्ने छौ ।

And you shall know today, that the Lord your God he shall go before your face: he is a consuming fire; he shall destroy them, and he shall turn them back before you, and shall destroy them quickly, as the Lord said to you.

4 तिमीहरूकै सामु परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिनीहरूलाई निकाल्नुभएपछि आफ्नो ह्रदयमा यसो नभन, 'मेरो धार्मिकताको कारणले गर्दा परमप्रभुले मलाई यो देश अधिकार गर्न ल्याउनुभएको छ ।' बरु यी जातिहरूको दुष्‍टताको कारणले परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई तिमीहरूकै सामु धपाउँदै हुनुहुन्छ ।

Speak not in your heart, when the Lord your God has destroyed these nations before your face, saying, For my righteousness the Lord brought me in to inherit this good land.

5 तिमीहरूको धार्मिकता वा तिमीहरूको ह्रदयको सोझोपनको कारणले गर्दा तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूको देश अधिकार गर्न लागेका होइनौ, तर यी जातिहरूको दुष्‍टताको कारणले गर्दा तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूकै सामुन्‍ने तिनीहरूलाई धपाउँदै हुनुहुन्छ ताकि उहाँले तिमीहरूका पुर्खाहरू अब्राहाम, इसहाक र याकूबसित शपथ खानुभएको वचनलाई सत्य साबित गर्न सकून् ।

Not for your righteousness, nor for the holiness of your heart, do you go in to inherit their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations the Lord will destroy them from before you, and that he may establish the covenant, which the Lord sware to our fathers, to Abraam, and to Isaac, and to Jacob.

6 त्यसकारण यो जानिराख, कि तिमीहरूको धार्मिकताको कारणले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले यो असल देश तिमीहरूलाई अधिकारको लागि दिन लाग्‍नुभएको होइन किनकि तिमीहरू त हठी मानिसहरू हौ ।

And you shall know today, that [it is] not for your righteousnesses the Lord your God gives you this good land to inherit, for you are a stiff-necked people.

7 उजाड-स्थानमा तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरलाई कसरी क्रोधित तुल्यायौ भनी याद राख । तिमीहरूले मिश्र देश छाडेदेखि तिमीहरू यस ठाउँमा नआउञ्‍जेलसम्म तिमीहरू परमप्रभुको विरुद्धमा विद्रोही बनेका छौ ।

Remember, forget not, how much you provoked the Lord your God in the wilderness: from the day that you came forth out of Egypt, even till you came into this place, you continued to be disobedient toward the Lord.

8 साथै, हेब्रोनमा तिमीहरूले परमप्रभुलाई क्रोधित तुल्यायौ, र तिमीहरूलाई नाशै पार्ने गरी उहाँ क्रुद्ध हुनुभयो ।

Also in Choreb you provoked the Lord, and the Lord was angry with you to destroy you;

9 परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूसित बाँध्‍नुभएका करारका शिला-पाटीहरू लिन म पर्वतमा उक्लँदा म चालिस दिन चालिस रातसम्म पर्वतमा बसेँ । मैले न रोटी खाएँ, न पानी पिएँ ।

when I went up into the mountain to receive the tables of stone, the tables of the covenant, which the Lord made with you, and I was in the mountain forty days and forty nights, I ate no bread and drank no water.

10 परमप्रभुले मलाई आफ्नै औँलाले लेख्‍नुभएका दुईवटा शिला-पाटी दिनुभयो । सभाको दिनमा आगोको बिचबाट परमप्रभुले पर्वतमा बोल्नुभएका सबै वचन तिनमा लेखिएका थिए ।

And the Lord gave me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God, and on them there had been written all the words which the Lord spoke to you in the mountain in the day of the assembly.

11 ती चालिस दिन र चालिस रातको अन्त्यमा परमप्रभुले मलाई करारका दुईवटा शिला-पाटी दिनुभयो ।

And it came to pass after forty days and forty nights, the Lord gave me the two tables of stone, the tables of the covenant.

12 परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्‍नुभयो, 'उठेर छिटो गरी यहाँबाट तल जा किनकि तैँले मिश्रबाट ल्याएका तेरा मानिसहरूले आफैलाई भ्रष्‍ट पारेका छन् । मैले तिनीहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेको मार्गबाट तिनीहरू चाँडै नै तर्केर गएका छन् । तिनीहरूले आफ्नो निम्ति ढलौटे मूर्ति बनाएका छन् ।'

And the Lord said to me, Arise, go down quickly from hence, for your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have transgressed; they have gone aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them, and have made themselves a molten image.

13 यसबाहेक, परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्‍नुभयो, 'मैले यी मानिसहरूलाई देखेको छु र तिनीहरू हठी छन् ।

And the Lord spoke to me, saying, I have spoken to you once and again, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people.

14 मलाई एक्लै छोडिदे ताकि मैले तिनीहरूलाई नष्‍ट गर्नू सकूँ र स्वर्गमूनिबाट तिनीहरूको नाउँ मेटाइदिन सकूँ र तँबाट नै तिनीहरूभन्दा महान् र शक्तिशाली जाति बनाउन सकूँ ।'

And now suffer me utterly to destroy them, and I will blot out their name from under heaven, and will make of you a nation great and strong, and more numerous than this.

15 त्यसैले म फर्केर पर्वतबाट ओर्ली आएँ, अनि पर्वत जलिरहेको थियो । करारका दुईवटा शिला-पाटी मेरा हातमा थिए ।

And I turned and went down from the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire to heaven; and the two tables of the testimonies [were] in my two hands.

16 मैले हेरेँ र तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका थियौ । तिमीहरूले आफ्नो निम्ति बाछाको ढलौटे मूर्ति बनाएका थियौ । परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई आज्ञा गर्नुभएको मार्गबाट तिमीहरू चाँडै नै तर्केर गएका थियौ ।

And when I saw that you had sinned against the Lord your God, and had made to yourselves a molten image, and had gone astray out of the way, which the Lord commanded you to keep;

17 मैले ती दुईवटा शिला-पाटीलाई लिएर मेरा हातबाट फालिदिएँ । मैले तिमीहरूकै सामु तिनलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पारिदिएँ ।

then I took hold of the two tables, and cast them out of my two hands, and broke them before you.

18 फेरि, मैले न रोटी खाएँ न पानी पिएँ । परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा दुष्‍ट काम गरेर उहाँलाई चिढ्याई तिमीहरूका सबै पापको कारणले गर्दा चालिस दिन र चालिस रातसम्म म परमप्रभुको सामु लम्पसार परेँ ।

And I made my petition before the Lord as also at the first forty days and forty nights: I ate no bread and drank no water, on account of all your sins which you sinned in doing evil before the Lord God to provoke him.

19 किनकि तिमीहरूलाई नाशै पार्ने गरी तिमीहरूको विरुद्धमा भएको परमप्रभुको रिस र कडा बेखुसीको कारणले म भयभीत भएँ । तर त्यस बेला पनि परमप्रभुले मेरो कुरा सुन्‍नुभयो ।

And I was greatly terrified because of the wrath and anger, because the Lord was provoked with you utterly to destroy you; yet the Lord listened to me at this time also.

20 हारूनलाई नष्‍ट गर्ने गरी उहाँ तिनीसित ज्यादै रिसाउनुभयो । त्यस बेला मैले हारूनको लागि पनि प्रार्थना गरेँ ।

And he was angry with Aaron to destroy him utterly, and I prayed for Aaron also at that time.

21 मैले तिमीहरूको पाप अर्थात् तिमीहरूले बनाएको बाछो लिएर त्यसलाई जलाइदिएँ अनि त्यसलाई चकनाचुर पारेर धूलोपिठो पारिदिएँ । मैले त्यस धूलोलाई पर्वतबाट आउने खोलामा फालिदिएँ ।

And your sin which you had made, [even] the calf, I took, and burnt it with fire, and pounded it and ground it down till it became fine; and it became like dust, and I cast the dust into the brook that descended from the mountain.

22 तबेरा, मस्साह र किब्रोथ-हत्तावामा तिमीहरूले परमप्रभुलाई क्रोधित तुल्यायौ ।

Also in the burning, and in the temptation, and at the graves of lust, you provoked the Lord.

23 परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई कादेश-बर्नेमा यसो भनी पठाउनुहुँदा, 'मैले तिमीहरूलाई दिएको देशमा गएर त्यसलाई अधिकार गर' तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूको परमेश्‍वरको आज्ञाको विरुद्धमा विद्रोह गर्‍यौ, अनि उहाँको कुरा मानेनौ वा सुनेनौ ।

And when the Lord sent you forth from Cades Barne, saying, Go up and inherit the land which I give to you, then you disobeyed the word of the Lord your God, and believed him not, and listened not to his voice.

24 मैले तिमीहरूलाई चिनेको दिनदेखि नै तिमीहरू परमप्रभुको विरुद्धमा बागी भएका छौ ।

You were disobedient in the things relating to the Lord from the day in which he became known to you.

25 परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई नष्‍ट गर्नुहुनेथियो भनी उहाँले भन्‍नुभएकोले म चालिस दिन चालिस रातसम्म उहाँको सामु लम्पसार परेँ ।

And I prayed before the Lord forty days and forty nights, the number that I prayed [before], for the Lord said that he would utterly destroy you.

26 मैले परमप्रभुलाई यसो भनी प्रार्थना चढाएँ, 'हे परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर, तपाईंले आफ्ना मानिसहरू अर्थात् तपाईंको सम्पत्तिलाई नष्‍ट नगर्नुहोस् जसलाई तपाईंले आफ्नो महान्‌ताद्वारा छुटकारा दिनुभएको छ र आफ्नो शक्तिशाली हातले मिश्रबाट ल्याउनुभएको छ ।

And I prayed to God, and said, O Lord, King of gods, destroy not your people and your inheritance, whom you did redeem, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt with your great power, and with your strong hand, and with your high arm.

27 तपाईंका दासहरू अब्राहाम, इसहाक र याकूबलाई सम्झनुहोस् । यो जातिको हठलाई नहेर्नुहोस् न त तिनीहरूका दुष्‍टता र पापलाई नै हेर्नुहोस् ।

Remember Abraam, and Isaac, and Jacob your servants, to whom you sware by yourself: look not upon the hardness of heart of this people, and their impieties, and their sins.

28 नत्रता तपाईंले हामीलाई जुन देशबाट ल्याउनुभयो त्यसले भन्ला, 'परमप्रभुले प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको देशमा उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई लैजान नसक्‍नुभएकोले र उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई घृणा गर्नुभएकोले तिनीहरूलाई उजाड-स्थानमा मार्न उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई बाहिर ल्याउनुभएको छ ।'

Lest the inhabitants of the land whence you brought us out speak, saying, Because the Lord could not bring them into the land of which he spoke to them, and because he hated them, has he brought them forth to kill them in the wilderness.

29 तथापि तिनीहरू तपाईंका मानिसहरू र तपाईंको सम्पत्ति हुन् जसलाई तपाईंले आफ्नो महाशक्ति र तपाईंको शक्तिको प्रदर्शनीद्वारा बाहिर ल्याउनुभयो ।'

And these [are] your people and your portion, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt with your great strength, and with your mighty hand, and with your high arm.
