व्यवस्था 23

1 लिङ्ग किचिएको वा काटिएको मानिसलाई परमप्रभुको सभामा प्रवेश गर्न निदनू ।

“A eunuch, one whose testicles have been debilitated or cut off, or whose penis has been cut off, shall not enter into the church of the Lord.

2 कुनै अवैध बच्‍चा परमप्रभुको सभामा प्रवेश गर्नुहुँदैन । त्यसको दस पुस्तासम्म त्यसको कोही सन्तान पनि परमप्रभुको सभामा प्रवेश गर्नुहुँदैन ।

The offspring of a harlot, that is, one born of a prostitute, shall not enter into the church of the Lord, until the tenth generation.

3 अम्मोनी वा मोआबी परमप्रभुको सभामा प्रवेश गर्नुहुँदैन । त्यसको दस पुस्तासम्म त्यसको कोही सन्तान पनि परमप्रभुको सभामा प्रवेश गर्नुहुँदैन ।

The Ammonite and the Moabite, even after the tenth generation, shall not enter into the church of the Lord forever,

4 किनकि तिमीहरू मिश्रबाट आउँदा बाटोमा तिनीहरूले रोटी र पानी लिएर तिमीहरूलाई भेट्न आएका थिएनन्, र तिमीहरूको विरुद्धमा श्राप दिन तिनीहरूले पतोरमा बस्‍ने बओरका छोरा बालामलाई भाडामा लिएका थिए ।

because they were not willing to meet you with bread and water along the way, when you had departed from Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam, the son of Beor, from Mesopotamia in Syria, in order to curse you.

5 तर परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले बालामको कुरा सुन्‍नुभएन । बरु, तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले श्रापलाई आशिष्‌मा परिणत गरिदिनुभयो किनकि तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई प्रेम गर्नुहुन्थ्यो ।

But the Lord your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, and he turned his cursing into your blessing, because he loves you.

6 तिमीहरूका जीवनभर तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूका शान्ति वा उन्‍नतिको खोजी नगर्नू ।

You shall not make peace with them, nor shall you seek their prosperity, throughout all the days of your life forever.

7 तिमीहरूले कुनै एदोमीलाई तिरस्कार नगर्नू । कुनै मिश्रीलाई घृणा नगर्नू किनकि तिमीहरू त्यसको देशमा परदेशी थियौ ।

You shall not abhor anyone from Idumea, for he is your brother, nor the Egyptian, for you were a new arrival in his land.

8 तिनीहरूबाट जन्मेका तेस्रो पुस्ताका सन्तानहरू परमप्रभुको सभामा पस्‍न सक्छन् ।

Those who have been born of them, in the third generation, shall enter into the church of the Lord.

9 तिमीहरू आफ्ना शत्रुहरूको विरुद्धमा युद्धमा जाँदा तिमीहरूले आ-आफूलाई दुष्‍ट कुराहरूबाट अलग राख ।

When you have gone out to war against your enemies, you shall keep yourself from everything that is evil.

10 तिमीहरूका बिचमा रातम कुनै पुरुष स्वप्‍न-दोषको कारणले गर्दा अशुद्ध भएको छ भने त्यो सेनाको छाउनीबाट बाहिर जाओस् र छाउनीमा फर्केर नआओस् ।

If there is a man among you who has been defiled by a dream in the night, he shall depart from the camp.

11 साँझ परेपछि त्यसले पानीले नुहाओस् । सूर्य अस्ताएपछि त्यो छाउनीमा आओस् ।

And he shall not return before the evening, after he has washed with water, and then, after the sun sets, he shall return to the camp.

12 छाउनीबाहिर तिमीहरूका लागि एउटा ठाउँ हुनुपर्छ ।

You shall have a place beyond the camp to which you may go for the necessities of nature,

13 खन्‍नका लागि तिमीहरूसित सामग्रीहरू हुनुपर्छ । दिसा बसिसकेपछि खाल्डो खनेर दिसा पुरिदिनू ।

carrying a small shovel at your belt. And when you would sit down, you shall dig around, and then, with the soil that was dug up, you shall cover

14 किनकि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई विजय दिन र तिमीहरूका शत्रुहरूलाई तिमीहरूका हातमा दिन उहाँ तिमीहरूको छाउनीको बिचमा हिँडडुल गर्नुहुन्छ । त्यसकारण, तिमीहरूको छाउनी पवित्र हुनुपर्छ ताकि तिमीहरूका बिचमा कुनै अशुद्ध कुरा देखेर उहाँ तिमीहरूका बिचबाट तर्केर नजानुभएको होस् ।

that from which you were relieved. For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, in order to rescue you, and to deliver your enemies to you. And so, let your camp be holy, and let nothing filthy appear within it, lest he abandon you.

15 आफ्नो मालिकबाट भागेर आएको कमारालाई त्यसको मालिककहाँ नफर्काउनू ।

You shall not deliver a servant who has fled to you to his master.

16 त्यसले जुनसुकै सहर छाने तापनि त्यसलाई तिमीहरूसँगै बस्‍न दिनू । त्यसलाई थिचोमिचो नगर्नू ।

He shall live with you in a place that pleases him, and he shall rest in one of your cities. You shall not grieve him.

17 इस्राएलीका छोरीहरू र छोराहरूका बिचमा कसैले पनि मन्दिरको वेश्यावृत्तिमा काम नगरोस् ।

There shall be no prostitutes among the daughters of Israel, nor anyone among the sons of Israel who visits a prostitute.

18 तिमीहरूले कुनै भाकलको निम्ति वेश्यावृत्तिको ज्याला वा कुकुरको ज्याला परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको भवनमा नल्याउनू । किनकि यी दुवै परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरका लागि घृणित कुराहरू हुन् ।

You shall not offer money from a prostitute, nor the price of a dog, in the house of the Lord your God, no matter what you may have vowed. For both of these are an abomination with the Lord your God.

19 ब्याज प्राप्‍त गर्न सकिने रुपियाँ-पैसा, भोजन वा अन्य कुनै पनि कुरो आफ्नो इस्राएली भाइलाई ऋणस्वरूप दिँदा त्यसबाट ब्याज नलिनू ।

You shall not lend money, or grain, or anything else at all, to your brother at interest,

20 परदेशीबाट भने तिमीहरूले ब्याज लिन सक्छौ । तर आफ्नो इस्राएली भाइबाट भने तिमीहरूले ब्याज लिनुहुँदैन । यसरी परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई तिमीहरूले अधिकार गर्न लागेको देशमा तिमीहरूको हात परेको हरेक थोकमा आशिष् दिनुभएको होस् ।

but only to a foreigner. For you shall lend to your brother whatever he needs without interest, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all your works in the land, which you shall enter so as to possess it.

21 तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरलाई भाकल गर्दा यसलाई पुरा गर्न विलम्ब नगर किनकि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूबाट यो चाहनुहुन्छ । भाकल पुरा नगर्नु पाप हो ।

When you have made a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not be late in paying it. For the Lord your God demands it. And if you delay, it shall be imputed to you as a sin.

22 तर भाकलै गरेका छैनौ भने यो तिमीहरूका लागि पाप हुँदैन ।

If you are not willing to make a promise, then it shall be without sin.

23 परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरलाई तिमीहरूले भाकल गरेअनुसार वा तिमीहरूका मुखले स्वैच्छापूर्वक प्रतिज्ञा गरेअनुसार तिमीहरूका मुखबाट निस्केको कुरा पुरा गर्नुपर्छ ।

But as soon as it has departed from your lips, you shall observe and do just as you have promised to the Lord your God and just as you have spoken by your own free will and with your own mouth.

24 तिमीहरू आफ्नो छिमेकीको दाखबारीमा जाँदा इच्छा लागेअनुसार चाहेजति दाख खान सक्छौ, तर आफ्नो टोकरीमा भने नहाल ।

Upon entering your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you please. But you may not carry any out with you.

25 तिमीहरू आफ्नो छिमेकीको अन्‍न पाकेको खेतमा जाँदा तिमीहरूले आफ्ना हातले अन्‍नका बाला टिप्‍न सक्छौ, तर पाकेको बालीमा हँसिया नलगाओ ।

If you enter into your friend’s grain field, you may break off the ears, and rub them in your hand, but you may not reap them with a sickle.”
