आमोस 5
1 ए इस्राएलको घराना, तिमीहरूका विषयमा मेरो यो विलापको वचन सुन ।
Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
2 कुमारी इस्राएल पतन भएकी छ, त्यो फेरि उठ्नेछैन, त्यो आफ्नै भूमिमा त्यागिएकी छ, त्यसलाई उठाउने त्यहाँ कोही छैन ।
The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
3 किनभने परमप्रभु परमेश्वर यस्तो भन्नुहुन्छः “इस्राएलको घरानामा भएकाका, एक हजार जना लिएर निस्केको सहरमा सय जना बाँकी हुनेछन्, र सय जना लिएर निस्केको सहरमा दस जना बाँकी हुनेछन् ।”
For thus saith the Lord Yhwh; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
4 किनभने इस्राएलको घरानालाई परमप्रभु यस्तो भन्नुहुन्छः “मेरो खोजी गर र जीवित रहो!
For thus saith Yhwh unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
5 बेथेलको खोजी नगर, न त गिलगालमा प्रवेश गर, बेर्शेबातर्फ यात्रा नगर । किनभने गिलगाल निश्चय नै कैदमा जानेछ, र बेथेल शून्य हुनेछ ।
But seek not Beth–el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer–sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth–el shall come to nought.
6 परमप्रभुको खोजी गर र जीवित रहो, नत्रता उहाँ योसेफको घरानामा आगोझैं दन्कनुहुनेछ । त्यसले भस्म पार्नेछ र बेथेलमा त्यसलाई निभाउने कुनै व्यक्ति हुनेछैन ।
Seek Yhwh, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Beth–el.
7 ती मानिसहरूले इन्साफलाई एउटा तितो कुरामा परिणत गर्छन् र धार्मिकतालाई भुइँमा फालिदिन्छन्!”
Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
8 परमेश्वरले किरकिटी र मृगशिरालाई बनाउनुभयो । उहाँले अन्धकारलाई बिहानमा परिणत गर्नुहुन्छ । उहाँले दिनलाई रातको अन्धकार बनाउनुहुन्छ र समुद्रको पानीलाई बोलाउनुहुन्छ । उहाँले त्यसलाई पृथ्वीको सतहमा खन्याउनुहुन्छ । उहाँको नाउँ परमप्रभु हो ।
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: Yhwh is his name:
9 उहाँले बलियामाथि एक्कासि विनाश ल्यानुहुन्छ, जसले गर्दा किल्लाहरूमा विनाश आउँछन् ।
That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
10 सहरको मूलद्वारमा तिनीहरूलाई ठिक कुरा सिकाउनेलाई तिनीहरू घृणा गर्छन्, र सत्य बोल्नेलाई कुनै पनि व्यक्तिलाई तिनीहरू उपहास गर्छन् ।
They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
11 किनभने तिमीहरूले गरिबहरूलाई कुल्चिन्छौ र ऊबाट गहुँको भाग लिन्छौ— तिमीहरूले कँदेका ढुङ्गाले घरहरू बनाएको भए तापनि, तिमीहरू त्यसमा बस्नेछैनौ । तिमीहरूसँग लहलहाउँदा दाखबारीहरू छन्, तर तिमीहरूले त्यसको दाखमद्य पाउनेछैनौ ।
Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
12 किनकि तिमीहरूका अपराधहरू कति छन् अनि तिमीहरूका पाप कति ठुला छन् भनी म जान्दछु— तिमीहरू जसले धर्मीलाई कष्ट दिन्छौ, घूस लिन्छौ, र सहरको मूलद्वारका दरिद्रहरूको न्यायहरण गर्छौ
For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
13 यसकारण यस्तो समयमा विवेकी मानिस पनि चूपै लाग्छ, किनभने यो खराब समय हो ।
Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
14 असल कुराको खोजी गर, खराबको होइन, जसले गर्दा तिमीहरू बाँच्नेछौ । यसरी तिमीहरूले भनेझैं, परमप्रभु, सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर, साँच्चै नै तिमीहरूसँग हुनुहुनेछ ।
Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so Yhwh, the God of Armies, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
15 दुष्टतालाई घृणा गर, असल कुरालाई प्रेम गर, सहरको मूलद्वारमा न्याय कायम गर । सायद परमप्रभु, सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर योसेफका बाँकी रहेकाहरूसँग अनुग्रही हुनुहुनेछ ।
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that Yhwh God of Armies will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16 यसकारण, परमप्रभु, सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर यस्तो भन्नुहुन्छ, “सबै चोकहरूमा रुवाबासी हुनेछ, र तिनीहरूले सबै सडकहरूमा यस्तो भन्नेछन्, ‘धिक्कार! धिक्कार!’ तिनीहरूले किसानहरूलाई विलाप गर्न र मलामीहरूलाई शोक गर्न बोलाउनेछन् ।
Therefore Yhwh, the God of Armies, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 सबै दाखबारीहरूमा रुवाबासी हुनेछ, किनकि म तिमीहरूका बिचबाट भएर जानेछु,” परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ ।
And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith Yhwh.
18 परमप्रभुको दिन चाहना गर्नेहरूलाई धिक्कार! तिमीहरू किन परमप्रभुको दिनको चाहना गर्दछौ? त्यो उज्यालो होइन तर अन्धकार हुनेछ,
Woe unto you that desire the day of Yhwh! to what end is it for you? the day of Yhwh is darkness, and not light.
19 जसरी कोही मानिस एउटा सिंहबाट भाग्छ र एउटा भालुले उसलाई भेटाउँछ, अर्थात् ऊ कुनै घरभित्र जान्छ र आफ्नो हात भित्तामा राख्छ अनि एउटा सर्पले उसलाई डस्छ ।
As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 के परमप्रभुको दिन उज्यालो नभई अन्धकार हुनेछैन र? अन्धकार र कुनै उज्यालो नभएको?
Shall not the day of Yhwh be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21 “म तिमीहरूका चाडहरूलाई घृणा गर्दछु, म तिरस्कार गर्दछु, तिमीहरूका धार्मिक सभाहरूमा म खुसी हुन्नँ ।
I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
22 तिमीहरूले मलाई होमबलि र अन्नबलि चढाए तापनि, म ती ग्रहण गर्नेछैनँ, न त तिमीहरूका मोटा पशुहरूको मेलबलि नै म हेर्नेछु ।
Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23 तिमीहरूका गीतहरूको हल्ला मबाट हटाओ । तिमीहरूका वीणाहरूका धुन म सुन्नेछैनँ ।
Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
24 बरु, इन्साफ पानीझैं बगोस्, र धार्मिकताचाहिं निरन्तर बगिरहने खोलाझैं होस् ।
But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
25 ए इस्राएलको घराना, चालिस वर्ष मरुभूमिमा हुँदा, के तिमीहरूले मेरो निम्ति बलिदानहरू र भेटीहरू ल्यायौ र?
Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
26 तिमीहरूले आफ्ना राजा सिक्कुथ, र आफ्ना तारा-देवता काइवानको मूर्ति खडा गरेका छौ, जसलाई तिमीहरूले आफ्ना निम्ति बनायौ ।
But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
27 यसकारण म तिमीहरूलाई दमस्मसभन्दा पर निर्वासनमा पठाउनेछु,” परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, जसको नाउँ सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर हो ।
Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith Yhwh, whose name is The God of Armies.
