प्रेरित 7
1 प्रधान पूजाहारीले भने, “के यी कुराहरू साँचा हुन्?”
And the High-priest said—Are these things, so?
2 स्तिफनसले भने, “दाजुभाइ तथा पिताहरू हो, मेरो कुरा सुन्नुहोस्ः हाम्रा पिता अब्राहाम हारानमा बस्नुअगि महिमाका परमेश्वर मेसोपोटामियामा तिनीकहाँ देखा पर्नुभयो ।
And, he, said—Brethren and fathers, hearken! The God of Glory, appeared unto our father Abraham, while he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, —
3 उहाँले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रो देश र तिम्रा नातेदारहरूलाई छाड र मैले देखाउने देशमा जाऊ ।”
And said unto him—Get thee forth, out of thy land, and from among thy kindred, and come unto the land which, unto thee, I will point out.
4 त्यसपछि तिनी कल्दीहरूको देशबाट प्रस्थान गरे अनि तिनी हारानमा आएर बसे । त्यहाँ तिनका पिताको मृत्यु भएपछि परमेश्वरले तिनलाई यस देशमा ल्याउनुभयो जहाँ अहिले तपाईंहरू बस्नुहुन्छ ।
Then, coming forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, he dwelt in Haran; and, from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, in which, ye, now dwell;
5 उहाँले तिनलाई कुनै पनि कुरा पैत्तृक सम्पत्तिको रूपमा दिनुभएन, यहाँसम्म कि पर्याप्त पाइला राख्ने ठाउँसम्म पनि दिनुभएन । तर अब्राहामको कुनै सन्तान नहुँदा पनि उहाँले त्यो देश तिनलाई सम्पत्तिको रूपमा दिनुहुनेथियो र त्यसपछि तिनका सन्तानहरूलाई दिनुहुनेथियो भनी तिनीसित प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभयो ।
And gave him no inheritance therein, not even a place to set his foot on; and yet promised to give it unto him in possession, and unto his seed after him, when as yet he had not a child.
6 परमेश्वरले तिनलाई भन्दै हुनुहुन्थ्यो कि तिनका सन्तानहरू विदेशी भूमिमा केही समयको लागि बस्नेथिए र त्यहाँका बासिन्दाहरूले तिनीहरूलाई कमारा तुल्याउनेथिए र चार सय वर्षसम्म तिनीहरूलाई थिचोमिचो गर्नेथिए ।
But God, spake thus—His seed shall be a sojourner in a foreign land, and they will bring it into bondage, and ill-treat it four-hundred years;
7 परमेश्वरले भन्नुभयो, “तिनीहरू जुन जातिको अधीनमा कमारा हुनेछन् म तिनीहरूको न्याय गर्नेछु र त्यसपछि तिनीहरू त्यहाँबाट बाहिर निस्केर आई यस ठाउँमा मेरो आराधना गर्नेछन् ।”
And, the nation unto which they shall be in bondage, will, I, judge—said God; and, after these things, shall they come forth, and render divine service unto me, in this place.
8 अनि उहाँले अब्राहामसित खतनाको करार बाँध्नुभयो । त्यसैले, अब्राहाम इसहाकका पिता बने र तिनले आठौँ दिनमा उनको खतना गरे । इसहाक याकूबका पिता बने र याकूब बाह्र कुलका पिता बने ।
And he gave unto him a covenant of circumcision; and, thus, he begat Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day, and Isaac, Jacob, and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs.
9 कुलपतिहरूले योसेफको विरुद्धमा डाह गरे र तिनलाई मिश्रमा बेचिदिए । तर परमेश्वर तिनीसित हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
And, the patriarchs, being jealous of Joseph, gave him up into Egypt; and, God, was, with him,
10 र उहाँले तिनलाई सबै दुःखकष्टबाट छुटाउनुभयो र मिश्रका राजा फारोको सामने तिनलाई कृपा र बुद्धि दिनुभयो । तब फारोले तिनलाई मिश्र र तिनका सारा घरानाका शासक बनाए ।
And rescued him out of all his tribulations, and gave him favour and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he appointed him governor over Egypt and all his house.
11 त्यस बेला सारा मिश्र र कनानभरि अनिकाल पर्यो र ठुलो सङ्कष्ट आइपर्यो । परिणाम स्वरूप हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूले कुनै खाना पाएनन् ।
And there came a famine upon all Egypt and Canaan, and great tribulation, and our fathers could not find pasture.
12 तर जब मिश्रमा अन्न पाईंदोरहेछ भनी याकूबले सुने तिनले पहिले हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूलाई त्यहाँ पठाए ।
But Jacob, hearing there was corn in Egypt, sent off our fathers, first;
13 दोस्रो पटकको भेटघाटमा योसेफले आफूलाई आफ्ना दाजुहरूकहाँ प्रकट गरे, र योसेफको परिवारलाई फारोकहाँ परिचित गराइयो ।
And, the second time, Joseph was made known unto his brethren, and, the race of Joseph was made, manifest, unto Pharaoh.
14 आफ्ना पिता याकूब र तिनका सबै नातेदारहरू अर्थात् पचहत्तर प्राणीलाई मिश्रमा आउनुहोस् भनी तिनले आफ्ना दाजुहरूमार्फत खबर पठाए ।
And Joseph, sending forth, called for Jacob his father, and all the kindred, consisting of seventy-five souls;
15 त्यसैले याकूब मिश्रमा गए । त्यहाँ तिनको मृत्यु भयो र हाम्रा पुर्खाहरू पनि त्यहीँ नै मरे ।
And Jacob went down [into Egypt]. And he died, he, and our fathers;
16 तिनीहरूका मृत शरीर शकेममा लगिए र अब्राहामले शकेममा हमोरका छोराहरूबाट चाँदीको मूल्यमा किनेको चिहानमा तिनीहरूलाई गाडियो ।
And were brought over into Shechem, and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased, for a price of silver, of the sons of Hamor in Shechem.
17 परमेश्वरले अब्राहामसित प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको समय नजिकिँदै गर्दा मानिसहरू मिश्रमा गुणात्मक रूपमा बढे ।
Now, just as the time of the promise was drawing near wherewith God had agreed with Abraham, the people grew, and were multiplied in Egypt, —
18 त्यसपछि मिश्रमा अर्का राजाको उदय भयो जसले योसेफलाई चिन्दैनथ्ये ।
Until there arose another sort of king over Egypt, who had not known Joseph.
19 ती राजाले हाम्रा मानिसहरूलाई छलगरे र हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूलाई यसरी दुर्व्यवहार गरे कि आफैँलाई बचाउन तिनीहरूले आफ्ना शिशुहरूलाई बाहिर फाल्नुपर्थ्यो ।
The same, dealing craftily with our race, ill-treated our fathers, so as to cause their babes to be exposed, to the end they might not be suffered to live.
20 त्यही बेला मोशाको जन्म भयो । तिनी परमेश्वरको सामु सुन्दर थिए र तिन महिनासम्म तिनका पिताको घरमा तिनको स्याहार गरियो ।
In which season, Moses, was born, and was exceeding goodly, —who was nourished up three months in the house of his father;
21 जब तिनलाई फ्याँकियो फारोकी छोरीले तिनलाई उठाइन् र तिनलाई आफ्नै छोरासरह हुर्काइन् ।
But, when he was exposed, the daughter of Pharaoh rescued him, and nourished him for herself, as a son.
22 मोशालाई मिश्रका सारा विद्यामा शिक्षा दिइयो र तिनी आफ्ना वचन र कर्ममा शक्तिशाली बने ।
And, so Moses was trained in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in his words and works.
23 तर जब तिनी करिब चालिस वर्ष पुगे, तिनलाई आफ्ना दाजुहरू अर्थात् इस्राएलीहरूलाई भेट गर्न मन लाग्यो ।
And, when there was being fulfilled unto him a period of forty years, it came up on his heart to look after his brethren the sons of Israel;
24 एक जना इस्राएलीमाथि अन्याय भएको देखेर तिनले उसको रक्षा गरे र अत्याचार गर्ने मिश्रीलाई मारिदिए ।
And, seeing one being wronged, he defended him, and avenged him that was getting worn out, smiting the Egyptian.
25 परमेश्वरले तिनीद्वारा तिनका दाजुभाइहरूको छुट्कारा गर्न खोज्दै हुनुहुन्थ्यो भन्ने कुरा तिनीहरूले बुझ्लान् भनी तिनले सोचे, तर तिनीहरूले त्यो कुरा बुझेनन् ।
But he supposed his brethren would understand that, God, through his hand, would give them deliverance; whereas they understood not.
26 अर्को दिन तिनी केही इस्राएलीहरूकहाँ आए जहाँ तिनीहरू एक आपसमा झगडा गरिरहेका थिए । तिनले तिनीहरूको झगडा मिलाउन खोजे र भने, “तपाईंहरू दाजुभाइ हुनुहुन्छ । किन एकअर्काको विरुद्धमा लड्नुहुन्छ?”
On the following day also, he appeared unto them, as they were contending, and would have reconciled them in peace, saying—Men! ye are, brothers! Wherefore wrong ye one another?
27 तर जसले आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई हानि पुर्याएको थियो त्यसले तिनलाई धकेलेर भन्यो, “तिमीलाई कसले हाम्रो शासक र न्यायकर्ता तुल्यायो?
But, he that was wronging his neighbour, thrust him away, saying—Who hath appointed, thee, to be ruler and judge over us?
28 हिजो तिमीले त्यस मिश्रीलाई मारेझैँ के तिमी मलाई पनि मार्न चाहन्छौ?”
Art, thou, wishing, to kill me, in the same way thou didst kill, yesterday, the Egyptian?
29 यो सुनेर मोशा भागे । तिनी मिद्यान देशमा परदेशी बने जहाँ तिनी दुई छोराका पिता बने ।
And Moses fled at this saying, and became a sojourner in the land of Midian, where he begat two sons.
30 चालिस वर्ष बितेपछि सीनै पर्वतको उजाड–स्थानमा जलिरहेको आगोको पोथ्रामा एउटा स्वर्गदूत तिनीकहाँ देखा परे ।
And, when forty years were fulfilled, there appeared unto him, in the desert of Mount Sinai, a messenger, in a flame of fire, in a bush.
31 मोशाले ज्वालालाई देखेपछि तिनी छक्क परे । त्यसलाई हेर्न तिनी नजिक जाँदा त्यहाँ परमप्रभुको आवाज आयो,
And, Moses, seeing it, marvelled at the sight; and, as he was going near to observe, there came a voice of the Lord—
32 “तिम्रा पुर्खाहरू अब्राहाम, इसहाक र याकूबका परमेश्वर मै हुँ ।” मोशा काँपे र तिनले हेर्ने साहस गरेनन् ।
I, am the God of thy fathers, The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. And Moses becoming, terrified, durst not observe.
33 परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रा जुत्ता फुकाल किनकि तिमी उभिएको ठाउँ पवित्र भूमि हो ।
And the Lord said unto him—Loose the sandals of thy feet; for, the place whereon thou art standing, is, hallowed ground.
34 निश्चय नै मैले मिश्रमा भएका मेरा मानिसहरूको दुःखकष्टलाई देखेको छु । मैले तिनीहरूको क्रन्दन सुनेको छु र म तिनीहरूलाई छुट्कारा दिन तल ओर्लीआएको छु । म तिमीलाई मिश्रमा पठाउनेछु ।”
I have, indeed seen, the ill-treatment of my people that is in Egypt, and, unto their groaning, have I hearkened, and have come down to rescue them. Now, therefore, come! I will send thee into Egypt.
35 यी मोशा जसलाई तिनीहरूले इन्कार गरेका थिए, जसलाई तिनीहरूले भनेका थिए, “कसले तिमीलाई शासक र न्यायकर्ता तुल्यायो?”, तिनैलाई परमेश्वरले शासक र उद्धारकर्ता दुवै बनाएर पठाउनुभयो । पोथ्रामा मोशाकहाँ देखा पर्ने स्वर्गदूतद्वारा परमेश्वरले तिनलाई पठाउनुभयो ।
The same Moses whom they had refused, saying—Who hath appointed thee to be ruler and judge? the same, both as ruler and redeemer, did God send, by the hand of the messenger who had appeared unto him in the bush:
36 मिश्र, लाल समुद्रसाथै उजाड–स्थानमा चालिस वर्षसम्म आश्चर्यकर्म र चिन्हहरू गरेर मोशाले तिनीहरूलाई मिश्रबाट बाहिर ल्याए ।
The same, led them forth, doing wonders and signs in Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the desert, forty years:
37 यी तिनै मोशा थिए जसले इस्राएलीहरूलाई भनेका थिए, “परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूका दाजुभाइहरूकै बिचबाट मजस्तै एक जना अगमवक्ता खडा गर्नुहुनेछ ।”
The same, is the Moses that said unto the sons of Israel—A prophet, unto you, will God raise up, from among your brethren, like unto me:
38 यी तिनै मानिस हुन् जो उजाड-स्थानमा भएको समुदायसित स्वर्गदूतसँगै थिए जो सीनै पर्वतमा तिनीसित बोलेका थिए । यी तिनै मानिस थिए जो हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूसित थिए; यी तिनै मानिस थिए जसले हामीलाई दिन जीवित वचनहरू प्राप्त गरे ।
The same, is he that came to be in the assembly in the desert, with the messenger who was speaking with him in Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, he who welcomed living utterances, to give unto us:
39 यी तिनै मानिस थिए जसप्रति हाम्रा पुर्खाहरू आज्ञाकारी बनेनन्; तिनीहरूले तिनलाई पन्छाए र तिनीहरू आफ्ना हृदयमा मिश्रमा फर्कने चाहना गरे ।
Unto whom, our fathers would not become obedient, but thrust him away, and turned in their hearts unto Egypt,
40 त्यस बेला तिनीहरूले हारूनलाई भने, “हामीलाई अगुवाइ गर्ने देवताहरू बनाउनुहोस् । हामीलाई मिश्र देशबाट अगुवाइ गरेर ल्याउने यी मोशालाई के भयो हामीलाई थाहा छैन ।”
Saying unto Aaron—Make as gods who shall go before us; for, as for this Moses who brought us forth out of Egypt, we know not what hath befallen him!
41 ती दिनमा तिनीहरूले एउटा बाछोको मूर्ति बनाए र तिनीहरूले त्यसलाई बलिदान चढाए र तिनीहरू आफूले गरेको काममा रमाए ।
And so they fell to calf-making in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their hands.
42 तर परमेश्वर तिनीहरूबाट तर्कनुभयो र तिनीहरूलाई आकाशका ताराहरूको सेवा गर्न छाडिदिनुभयो जस्तो अगमवक्ताका पुस्तकहरूमा लेखिएको छः “इस्राएलका घराना हो, के तिमीहरूले मलाई चालिस वर्षसम्म उजाड-स्थानमा पशुबलि र बलिदानहरू चढायौ र?”
But God, turned, and delivered them up to be doing divine service unto the host of heaven, —just as it is written in a book of the prophets—Victims and sacrifices did ye offer unto me, forty years in the desert, O house of Israel?
43 तिमीहरूले मोलोखको पवित्र वासस्थान र रेफन देवताको तारा र आफूले पूजा गर्न बनाएका मूर्तिहरूलाई स्वीकार गर्यौ । यसकारण म तिमीहरूलाई बेबिलोनभन्दा पर निर्वासनमा लैजानेछु ।”
Nay! but ye took with you the tent of Moloch, and the star of the god Rephan, —the forms which ye made to bow down unto them: therefore will I carry you away beyond Babylon.
44 उजाड-स्थानमा हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूको गवाहीको पवित्र वासस्थान थियो जुन परमेश्वरले मोशालाई आज्ञा गर्नुभएमुताबिक उहाँले देखाउनुभएको नमुनाबमोजिम बनाइएको थियो ।
The tent of witness, was with our fathers in the desert, according as he who was speaking unto Moses, gave instructions, to make it, according to the model which he had seen.
45 हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूको पालोमा तिनीहरूले यस पाललाई यहोशूसँगै यस देशमा ल्याए । हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूको उपस्थितिमा परमेश्वरले ती जातिहरूलाई बाहिर निकाली तिनीहरूको देश हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूको हातमा दिनुहुँदा यो घटना भएको थियो । दाऊदको समयसम्म यस्तै भयो,
Which our fathers succeeding to, also brought in, with Joshua, when taking possession of the nations, which God put out from before our fathers until the days of David;
46 जसले परमेश्वरको दृष्टिमा निगाह पाए र तिनले याकूबका परमेश्वरको निम्ति एउटा वासस्थान निर्माण गर्नका निम्ति अनुरोध गरे ।
Who found favour before God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
47 तर सोलोमनले परमेश्वरको निम्ति एउटा भवन बनाए ।
But, Solomon, built him a house.
48 तथापि सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर हातले बनाएका घरहरूमा बस्नुहुन्न जस्तो अगमवक्ताले भनेका छन्ः
Although indeed, the Most High, not in hand-made places, dwelleth; just as, the prophet, saith—
49 ‘स्वर्ग मेरो सिंहासन हो, र पृथ्वी मेरा खुट्टाको पाउदान । तिमीहरूले मेरो निम्ति कस्तो किसिमको घर बनाउन सक्छौ?’ परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ । वा मेरो विश्राम स्थान कहाँ छ?
Heaven is my thrown, and, the earth, is my footstool: What manner of house, will ye build me, saith the Lord, —Or what shall be the place of my resting?
50 के यी सबै कुराहरू मेरै हातले बनाएका होइनन् र?’
Hath not, my hand, made all these things?
51 हे हठी मानिसहरू हो, हृदय र कानको खतना नभएकाहरू, तपाईंहरू सधैँ पवित्र आत्माको विरोध गर्नुहुन्छ । तपाईंहरूका पुर्खाले जस्तो गरे तपाईंहरू पनि त्यस्तै गर्नुहुन्छ ।
Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in hearts and in ears, ye, always, against the Holy Spirit, do strive! As your fathers, ye also:
52 तपाईंहरूका पुर्खाले कुनचाहिँ अगमवक्तालाई सताएनन्? तिनीहरूले अगमवक्ताहरूलाई मारे जो धर्मी जनको आगमनअगि देखा परेका थिए । अहिले आएर तपाईंहरूले उहाँका विश्वासघाती र उहाँका हत्यारा बन्नु भएको छ ।
Which of the prophets, did not your fathers persecute? Yea they slew them who declared beforehand concerning the coming of the Righteous One—of whom, now, ye, have become, betrayers and murderers!
53 तपाईंहरूले स्वर्गदूतहरूद्वारा स्थापित व्यवस्था पाउनुभयो तर त्यसको पालना गर्नुभएन ।”
Who, indeed, received the law through ranks of messengers, —and guarded it not.
54 जब परिषद्का सदस्यहरूले यी कुराहरू सुने तिनीहरू स्तिफनसको विरुद्धमा क्रूद्ध बने र तिनीहरूले दाह्रा किटे ।
And, while they were hearing these things, they were being pierced in their hearts, and began gnashing their teeth against him.
55 तर तिनले पवित्र आत्माले भरिएर एकटकले स्वर्गतिर हेरे र परमेश्वरको महिमा साथै येशूलाई परमेश्वरको दाहिने हातपट्टि उभिरहनुभएको देखे ।
But he, being already full of Holy Spirit, looking steadfastly into heaven, saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God;
56 स्तिफनसले भने, “हेर्नुहोस्, म स्वर्ग उघ्रेको र मानिसका पुत्रलाई परमेश्वरको दाहिने हातपट्टि उभिरहनुभएको देख्दछु ।”
And said—Lo! I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man, standing, on the right hand of God.
57 तर परिषद्का सदस्यहरू ठुलो सोरले चिच्च्याए; तिनीहरूले आफ्ना कान थुने र तिनीहरू तिनीमाथि जाइलागे ।
And, crying out with a loud voice, they held their ears, and rushed with one accord upon him;
58 तिनीहरूले तिनलाई सहरबाहिर ल्याए र तिनीमाथि ढुङ्गा बर्साए । साक्षीहरूले शाऊल नाउँ गरेका जवान मानिसको खुट्टानेर आफ्ना बाहिरी वस्त्रहरू खोलेर राखे ।
And, thrusting him forth outside the city, proceeded to stone him. And, the witnesses, laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
59 तिनीहरूले स्तिफनसमाथि ढुङ्गा बसाईरहँदा तिनले निरन्तर रूपमा प्रभुको पुकारा गरे र भने, “हे प्रभु येशू, मेरो आत्मालाई ग्रहण गर्नुहोस् ।”
And they stoned Stephen, as he was invoking and saying—Lord Jesus! give welcome unto my spirit.
60 तिनले घुँडा टेकी ठुलो सोरले चिच्च्याए, “हे प्रभु, तिनीहरूलाई यो पापको दोष नलागोस् ।” यति भनेपछि तिनले आफ्नो प्राण त्यागे ।
And, kneeling down, he cried out with a loud voice—Lord! do not charge against them, this sin. And, having said this, he fell asleep.
