२ शमूएल 8

1 यसपछि यस्‍तो भयो, दाऊदले पलिश्‍तीहरूलाई आक्रमण गरे र तिनीहरूलाई परास्‍त गरे । त्यसैले दाऊदले मेथेग आमाहलाई पलिश्‍तीहरूको अधीनबाट लिए ।

Now after these things, it happened that David struck the Philistines, and he humbled them. And David took the bridle of tribute from the hand of the Philistines.

2 त्यसपछि तिनले मोआबलाई परास्‍त गरे र तिनीहरूका मानिसहरूलाई मैदानमा सुताएर एउटा डोरीले नापे । तिनले दुई नापभित्र पर्नेहरूलाई मारे र अर्को एक नापमा पर्नेहरूलाई जीवित राखे । त्यसैले मआबीहरू दाऊदका नोकरहरू भए र तिनलाई कर तिर्न थाले ।

And he struck Moab, and he measured them with a line, leveling them to the ground. Now he measured with two lines, one to kill, and one to keep alive. And Moab was made to serve David under tribute.

3 त्‍यसपछि सोबाका राजा रहोबका छोरा हददेजेरले यूफ्रेटिस नदीनेर आफ्नो शासन पुनर्स्थापना गर्नलाई यात्रा गरिरहँदा दाऊदले तिनलाई परास्‍त गरे ।

And David struck Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, the king of Zobah, when he set out to rule over the river Euphrates.

4 दाऊदले तिनीबाट १,७०० रथहरू र बिस हजार पैदल सिपाही कब्जा गरे । दाऊदले सबै रथ तान्‍ने घोडाहरूको ढोडनसा काटिदिए, तर आफूलाई एक सय रथहरू मात्र राखे ।

And from his troops, David seized one thousand seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand foot soldiers. And he cut the sinew of the leg in all the chariot horses. But he left aside enough of them for one hundred chariots.

5 जब दमसकसका आरामीहरू सोबाका राजा हददेजेरलाई सहायता गर्न आए, तब दाऊदले बाइस हजार आरामी पुरुषलाई मारे ।

And the Syrians of Damascus arrived, so that they might bring reinforcements to Hadadezer, the king of Zobah. And David struck down twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians.

6 तब दाऊदले दमसकसको आराममा छाउनी राखे र आरामीहरू तिनका नोकरहरू भए र तिनलाई कर ल्‍याए । दाऊद जहाँजहाँ गए, त्यहाँत्यहाँ परमप्रभुले तिनलाई विजय दिनुभयो ।

And David positioned a garrison in Syria of Damascus. And Syria served David under tribute. And the Lord assisted David in all things whatsoever that he set out to accomplish.

7 दाऊद हददेजेरका सेवकहरूसँग भएका सुनका ढालहरू लिए र ती यरूशलेममा ल्याए ।

And David took the armbands of gold, which the servants of Hadadezer had, and he brought them to Jerusalem.

8 हददेजेरका सहरहरू तेबह र बेरोतैबाट दाऊदले धेरै काँसा ल्याए ।

And from Betah and Beeroth, cities of Hadadezer, king David took an exceedingly great amount of brass.

9 दाऊदले हददेजेरका फौजलाई दाऊदले परास्‍त गरेका थिए भनी जब हमातका राजा तोऊ सुने,

Then Toi, the king of Hamath, heard that David had struck down the entire strength of Hadadezer.

10 तब तोऊले दाऊदलाई अभिवादन गर्न र आशिष् दिन आफ्‍नो छोरा योरामलाई पठाए, किनभने दाऊदले हददेजेरसँग युद्ध गरेका र तिनलाई पराजित गरेका थिए, किनभने हददेजेरले तोऊ विरुद्ध युद्ध गरेका थिए । योरामले आफ्‍नो साथमा सुन, चाँदी र काँसाका सामानहरू ल्याए ।

And so, Toi sent his son Joram to king David, so that he might greet him with congratulations, and give thanks, because he had fought against Hadadezer and had struck him down. For indeed, Toi was the enemy of Hadadezer. And in his hand were vessels of gold, and vessels of silver, and vessels of brass.

11 राजा दाऊदले यी सामानहरू साथै तिनले कब्जा गरेका सबै जातिबाट लिएका चाँदी र सुनलाई परमप्रभुको निम्ति अलग गरे,

And king David also sanctified these things to the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had sanctified from all the peoples whom he had subdued:

12 ती आराम, मोआब, अम्‍मोनका मानिसहरू, पलिश्‍तीहरू, र अमालेक साथै सोबाका राजा रहोबका छोरा हददेजेरबाट लुटेका सामानहरू पनि ।

from Syria, and Moab, and the sons Ammon, and the Philistines, and Amalek, and from the best spoils of Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, the king of Zobah.

13 दाऊदले नुनको बेसीमा अठार हजार अरामीहरूलाई जितेर फर्कंदा तिनको नाउँ चर्चित भएको थियो ।

David also made a name for himself when he returned from seizing Syria, in the Valley of the Salt Pits, having cut down eighteen thousand.

14 तिनले एदोमका सबै ठाउँमा छाउनी तैनाथ गरे र सबै एदोमी तिनका सेवकहरू भए । दाऊद जहाँजहाँ गए त्यहाँत्यहाँ नै परमप्रभुले विजय दिनुभयो ।

And he positioned guards in Edom, and he stationed a garrison. And all of Edom was made to serve David. And the Lord assisted David in all things whatsoever that he set out to accomplish.

15 दाऊदले सारा इस्राएलभरि शासन गरे र तिनले आफ्‍ना सबै मानिसलाई न्याय र धार्मिकता प्रदान गरे ।

And David reigned over all of Israel. And David accomplished judgment and justice with all his people.

16 सरूयाहका छोरा योआब सेनाका कमाण्‍डर थिए र अहीलूदका छोरा यहोशापात लेखापाल थिए ।

Now Joab, the son Zeruiah, was over the army. And Jehoshaphat, the son of Ahilud, was the keeper of records.

17 अहीतूबका छोरा सादोक र अबियाथारका छोरा अहीमेलेक पुजारीहरू थिए र सरायाह शास्‍त्री थिए ।

And Zadok, the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech, the son of Abiathar, were the priests. And Seraiah was the scribe.

18 यहोयादाका छोरा बनायाह करेती र पलेथीहरूका प्रमुख थिए र दाऊदका छोराहरू राजाका मुख्य अधिकृतहरू थिए ।

And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was over the Cherethites and Pelethites. But the sons of David were priests.
