२ शमूएल 20
1 त्यही ठाउँमा बेन्यामिनी बिक्रीको छोरो शेबा नाउँको एक जना समस्या उत्पन्न गराउने मानिस थियो । त्यसले तुरही फुक्यो र भन्यो, “दाऊदसँग हाम्रो कुनै हिस्सा छैन, न त यिशैको छोरासँग हाम्रो कुनै उत्तराधिकार नै छ । ए इस्राएल, हरेक मानिस आआफ्ना घर जाओ ।”
And there happened to be a man of worthlessness there, and his name [is] Sheba, son of Bichri, a Benjamite, and he blows with a horn and says, “We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; each [goes] to his tents, O Israel.”
2 त्यसैले इस्राएलका सबै मानिसले दाऊदलाई छोडे र बिक्रीको छोरा शेबाको पछि लागे । तर यहूदाका मानिसहरू यर्दन देखि यरूशलेमसम्म नै आफ्ना राजाको पछिपछि गए ।
And every man of Israel goes up from after David, after Sheba son of Bichri, and the men of Judah have cleaved to their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 जब दाऊद यरूशलेममा आफ्नो दरबारमा आए, तब उनले दरबारको हेरचाह गर्न छोडेका दश जना पत्नीलाई लिए र तिनले उनीहरूलाई पालेको अधीनमा एउटा घरमा राखे । उनले उनीहरूलाई चाहिने सबै कुरा जुटाइदिए, तर तिनी फेरि उनीहरूसँग सुतेनन् । त्यसैले उनीहरूको मृत्युको दिनसम्म नै तिनीहरूलाई नजरबन्द गरियो, यसरी उनीहरू विधवाहरू भएझैं बसे ।
And David comes to his house at Jerusalem. And the king takes the ten women-concubines whom he had left to keep the house, and puts them in a house of ward and sustains them, and he has not gone in to them, and they are shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.
4 त्यसपछि राजाले अमासालाई भने, “तीन दिनभित्र यहूदाका मानिसहरूलाई एकसाथ भेला गर । तिमी पनि यहाँ हुनुपर्छ ।”
And the king says to Amasa, “Call the men of Judah for me [within] three days, and you, stand here,”
5 त्यसैले अमासा यहूदालाई बोलाउन गए तर तिनलाई राजाले तोकेको समयभन्दा तिनी ढिला भए ।
and Amasa goes to call Judah, and tarries beyond the appointed time that he had appointed him;
6 त्यसैले दाऊदले अबीशैलाई भने, “अब बिक्रीका छोरा शेबाले हामीलाई अब्शालोमले भन्दा धेरै हानि गर्ने छ । तिम्रो मालिकका सेवकहरू, अर्थात् मेरा सिपाहरूलाई लिएर जाऊ र त्यसलाई खेद नत्र त्यसले किल्लाबन्दी गरेको सहर भेट्टाउने छ र हाम्रा नजरबाट उम्किने छ ।”
and David says to Abishai, “Now Sheba son of Bichri does evil to us more than Absalom; you, take the servants of your lord, and pursue after him, lest he has found fortified cities for himself, and delivered himself [from] our eye.”
7 त्यसपछि योआबका मानिसहरू, करेतीहरू, पलेथीहरू र सबै वीर योद्धासँगै त्यसको पछिपछि गए । तिनीहरूले बिक्रीको छोरो शेबालाई खेदन यरूशलेमबाट विदा भए ।
And the men of Joab go out after him, and the Cherethite, and the Pelethite, and all the mighty men, and they go out from Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri;
8 जब तिनीहरू गिबोनको ठुलो ढुङ्गामा थिए, तब अमासा तिनीहरूलाई भेट्न आए । योआबले हातियार सहितको जङ्गी पोशाक लगाएका थिए जसको कम्मरमा पेटी र त्यसमा दापमा छुरा हुन्थ्यो । जसै तिनी अगि बढे, छुरा खस्यो ।
they [are] near the great stone that [is] in Gibeon, and Amasa has gone before them, and Joab [is] girded; he has put his long robe on him, and on it a girdle—a sword [is] fastened on his loins in its sheath; and he has gone out, and it falls.
9 त्यसैले योआबले अमासालाई भने, “हे मेरो भाइ, तिमीलाई ठिकै छ?” योआबले अमासालाई चुम्बन गर्न दाह्रीमा समाते ।
And Joab says to Amasa, “Are you [in] peace, my brother?” And the right hand of Joab lays hold on the beard of Amasa to give a kiss to him;
10 अमासाले योबको देब्रे हातमा भएको छुरालाई ख्यालै गरेनन् । योआबले अमासाको पेटमा रोपिदिए र तिनको आन्द्राभुँडी जमिनमा झर्यो । योआबले तिनलाई अर्को पटक प्रहार गरेनन् र अमासा मरे । यसरी योआब र तिनको भाइ अबीशैले बिक्रीका छोरो शेबालाई पछ्याउँदै गए ।
and Amasa has not been watchful of the sword that [is] in the hand of Joab, and he strikes him with it to the fifth [rib], and sheds out his bowels to the earth, and he has not repeated [it] to him, and he dies; and Joab and his brother Abishai have pursued after Sheba son of Bichri.
11 योआबका मानिसमध्ये एक जना अमासाको छेउमा खडा भयो र त्यो मानिसले भन्यो, “त्यो जसले योआबको पक्ष लिन्छ र त्यो जो दाऊदको पक्षमा छ, त्यसले योआबलाई पछ्याओस् ।”
And a man has stood by him, of the young men of Joab, and says, “He who has delight in Joab, and he who [is] for David—after Joab!”
12 अमासा बिच बाटोमा आफ्नै रगतमा यताउता पल्टिरहे । सबै मानिस चुपचाप खडा भएको त्यो मानिसले देखेपछि त्यसले अमासालाई घिसारेर बाटोदेखि बाहिर खेतमा लग्यो । त्यसले लासमाथि कपडाले छोपिदियो किनभने उसको छेउमा आउने हरेक मानिस खडा भएको त्यसले देख्यो ।
And Amasa is rolling himself in blood, in the midst of the highway, and the man sees that all the people have stood still, and he brings around Amasa out of the highway to the field, and casts a garment over him when he has seen that everyone who has come by him has stood still.
13 अमासालाई बाटोदेखि बाहिर लगेपछि बिक्रीको छोरो शेबालाई खेद्न सबै मानिसले योआबलाई पछ्याए ।
When he has been removed out of the highway, every man has passed on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri.
14 शेबा इस्राएलका सबै कुल हुँदै गएर बेथ-माकाको हबिलमा पुग्यो र बरीहरूका सारा देशबाट भएर गयो जो एकसाथ भेला भए र शेबाको पछि लागे ।
And he passes over through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Beth-Maachah, and to all the Berites, and they are assembled, and also go in after him,
15 तिनीहरूले त्यसलाई बेथ-माकाको हाबिलमा भेट्टाए र घेराबन्दी गरे । तिनीहरूले सहरको विरुद्ध एउटा घेरा-मचान बनाए । योआबसँग भएका सबै फौजले पर्खाललाई ढाल्नलाई त्यसमा हिर्काउन लागे ।
and they go in and lay siege against him, in Abel of Beth-Maachah, and cast up a mound against the city, and it stands in a trench, and all the people who are [are] with Joab are destroying, to cause the wall to fall.
16 त्यसपछि एक जना बुद्धिमान स्त्रीले सहरबाट कराएर भनिन्, “ए योआब, सुन्नुहोस्, कृपया सुन्नुहोस्! मेरो नजिक आउनुहोस् र म तपाईंसँग कुरा गर्न सक्छु ।”
And a wise woman calls out of the city, “Hear! Hear! Please say to Joab, Come near here, and I speak to you.”
17 त्यसैले योआब तिनको नजिक गए र ती स्त्रीले भनिन्, “के तपाईं योआब हुनुहुन्छ?” तिनले जवाफ दिए, “म हुँ ।” तब तिनलाई उनले भनिन्, “तपाईंकी दासीको कुरा सुन्नुहोस् ।” तिनले जवाफ दिए, “म सुन्दै छु ।”
And he comes near to her, and the woman says, “Are you Joab?” And he says, “I [am].” And she says to him, “Hear the words of your handmaid”; and he says, “I am hearing.”
18 तब उनले भनिन्, “प्राचीन समयमा तिनीहरू भन्ने गर्थे, 'निश्चय हबिलमा सल्लाह लिन जाऊ,' र त्यो सल्लाहले कुरा मिल्थ्यो ।
And she speaks, saying, “They spoke often in former times, saying, Let them diligently inquire at Abel, and so they finished.
19 इस्राएलको सबभन्दा शान्तिपूर्ण र विश्वासयोग्य हाम्रै सहर हो । तपाईंले इस्राएलको आमा सहरलाई नाश गर्न खोज्दै हुनुहुन्छ । तपाईंले परमप्रभुको उत्तराधिकारलाई किन निल्न चाहनुहुन्छ?
I [am] of the peaceable, faithful ones of Israel; you are seeking to destroy a city and mother in Israel; why do you swallow up the inheritance of YHWH?”
20 त्यसैले योआबले जवाफ दिए र भने, “मैले सहर निल्ने वा नाश गर्ने कुरा मबाट दूर रहोस् ।
And Joab answers and says, “Far be it—far be it from me; I do not swallow up nor destroy.
21 त्यो सत्य होइन । तर बिक्रीको छोरा शेबा नाउँ गरेका एफ्राइमको पहाडी देशको एक जना मानिसले दाऊद राजाको विरुद्धमा आफ्नो हात उठाएको छ । त्यसलाई मकहाँ सुम्पिदिनुहोस् र म सहरबाट पछि हट्ने छु ।” ती स्त्रीले योआबलाई भनिन्, “त्यसको टाउको पर्खालबाट बाहिर तपाईंकहाँ फालिने छ ।”
The matter [is] not so; for a man of the hill-country of Ephraim—Sheba son of Bichri [is] his name—has lifted up his hand against the king, against David; give him up by himself, and I go away from the city.” And the woman says to Joab, “Behold, his head is cast to you over the wall.”
22 त्यसपछि ती स्त्री आफ्नो बुद्धिमा सबै मानिसकहाँ गइन् । तिनीहरूले बिक्रीका छोरा शेबाको टाउको काटे र त्यो बाहिर योआबकहाँ फालिदिए । तब योआबले तुरही फुके र तिनका मानिसहरूले सहर छोडेर हरेक मानिस आआफ्नो घर गए । अनि योआबचाहिं यरूशलेममा राजाकहाँ फर्के ।
And the woman comes to all the people in her wisdom, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bichri, and cast [it] to Joab, and he blows with a horn, and they are scattered from the city, each [goes] to his tents, and Joab has turned back to Jerusalem to the king.
23 अब योआबचाहिं इस्राएलका सबै फौजका कमाण्डर थिए, र यहोयादाका छोरा बनायाह करेतीहरू र पलेथीहरूका अधिकृत थिए ।
And Joab [is] over all the host of Israel, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the Cherethite, and over the Pelethite,
24 अदोनीरामचाहिं ज्यालाबिना काम गर्नेहरूका अधिकृत थिए र अहीलूदका छोरा यहोशापात लेखापाल थिए ।
and Adoram [is] over the tribute, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] the remembrancer,
25 शेभा शास्त्री र सादोक तथा अबियाथार पुजारीहरू थिए ।
and Sheva [is] scribe, and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests,
26 याईरी ईरा दाऊदका मुख्य सेवक थिए ।
and also, Ira the Jairite has been minister to David.
