२ राजाहरू 8

1 अब एलीशाले त्‍यस स्‍त्रीसित बात गरेका थिए जसको छोरोलाई तिनले मृत्‍युबाट फेरि जिवित पारेका थिए । तिनले उनलाई भने, “उठ र आफ्ना घरानाको साथमा जाऊ र तिमीलाई जहाँ इच्छा लाग्‍छ त्‍यहाँ अर्को देशमा गएर बस, किनकि परमप्रभुले यस देशमा सात वर्षसम्म अनिकाल ल्याउने वचन दिनुभएको छ ।”

Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, you and your household; go and live as a foreigner wherever you can. For the LORD has decreed a seven-year famine, and it has already come to the land.”

2 त्यसैले ती स्‍त्री उठिन् र परमेश्‍वरका मानिसको वचन मानिन् । तिनी आफ्ना घारानासित गइन् र सात वर्षसम्म पलिश्तीहरूको देशमा बसिन् ।

So the woman had proceeded to do as the man of God had instructed. And she and her household lived as foreigners for seven years in the land of the Philistines.

3 सात वर्षको अन्त्यमा ती स्‍त्री पलिश्तीहरूको देशबाट फर्किन्, अनि आफ्नो घर र जमिन फिर्ता पाउन राजाकहाँ विन्‍ति चढाउन गइन् ।

At the end of seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went to the king to appeal for her house and her land.

4 राजाले परमेश्‍वरका मानिसको सेवक गेहजीलाई यसो भन्दै थिए, “एलीशाले गरेका सबै महान् काम मलाई भन ।”

Now the king had been speaking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please relate to me all the great things Elisha has done.”

5 तब कसरी एलीशाले मेरको बच्‍चालाई मृत्‍युबाट फेरि जिवित पारेका थिए भनी राजालाई बताइरहँदा मृत्‍युबाट फेरि जिवित भएको बच्‍चाकी आमा आफ्नो परिवार र जमिनको निम्ति बिन्ती गर्न राजाकहाँ आइन् । गेहजीले भने, “हे मेरा मालिक राजा, ती स्‍त्री यिनै हुन् र तिनको छोरो यही हो जसलाई एलीशाले मृत्‍युबाट फेरि जिवित पारेका थिए ।”

And Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had brought the dead back to life. Just then the woman whose son Elisha had revived came to appeal to the king for her house and her land. So Gehazi said, “My lord the king, this is the woman, and this is the son Elisha restored to life.”

6 जब राजाले त्‍यो स्‍त्रीलाई तिनको छोरोको बारेमा सोधे, तब तिनले त्‍यो कुरा उनलाई व्याख्या गरिन् । त्यसैले राजाले तिनको निम्ति यसो भनेर एक जना अधिकारीलाई खटाए, “जे तिनका थिए ती सबै अनि तिनले देश छाडेर गएको दिनदेखि अहिलेम्मको उक्‍त जमिनको उब्जनीसमेत तिनैलाई फिर्ता दिनू।”

When the king asked the woman, she confirmed it. So the king appointed for her an officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, along with all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the country until now.”

7 एलीशा दमस्कसमा आए जहाँ अरामका राजा बेन-हदद बिरामी थिए । राजालाई भनियो, “परमेश्‍वरका मानिस यहाँ आएका छन् ।”

Then Elisha came to Damascus while Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and the king was told, “The man of God has come here.”

8 राजाले हजाएललाई भने, “आफ्नो हातमा उपहार लेऊ र गएर परमेश्‍वरका मानिसलाई भेट र तिनीद्वारा परमप्रभुसित यसो भनेर सल्‍लाह खोज, 'के म यस रोगबाट निको हुन्छु?'”

So the king said to Hazael, “Take a gift in your hand, go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD through him, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”

9 त्यसैले हजाएल तिनलाई भेट्न गए र तिनले आफूसित चालिसवटा ऊँटमाथि राखेर दमस्कसका हरेक असल थोक उपहार लगे । हजाएल आए र एलीशाको सामु खडा भए र भने, “तपाईंका छोरा अरामका राजा बेन-हददले मलाई तपाईंकहाँ यसो भनेर पठाउनुभएको छ, 'के म यस रोगबाट निको हुन्छु'?”

So Hazael went to meet Elisha, taking with him a gift of forty camel loads of every good thing from Damascus. And he went in and stood before him and said, “Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to ask, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”

10 एलीशाले तिनलाई भने, “जानुहोस्, र बेन-हददलाई भन्‍नुहोस्, 'निश्‍चय नै तपाईं निको हुनुहुनेछ,' तर तिनी निश्‍चय नै मर्नेछन् भनी परमप्रभुले मलाई देखाउनुभएको छ ।”

Elisha answered, “Go and tell him, ‘You will surely recover.’ But the LORD has shown me that in fact he will die.”

11 तब हजाएललाई शर्म नलागेसम्म एलीशाले तिनलाई एकटक लगाएर हेरे, अनि परमेश्‍वरका मानिस रोए ।

Elisha fixed his gaze steadily on him until Hazael became uncomfortable. Then the man of God began to weep.

12 हजाएलले सोधे, “हे मेरा मालिक, तपाईं किन रुनुहुन्छ?” तिनले जवाफ दिए, “किनकि तपाईंले इस्राएलका मानिसमाथि गर्ने खराबी मलाई थाहा छ । तपाईंले तिनीहरूका किल्लाहरू आगोमा जलाउनुहुनेछ, र तिनीहरूका युवाहरूलाई तरवारले मार्नुहुनेछ अनि तिनीहरूका बालबच्‍चालाई टुक्राटुक्रा पार्नुहुनेछ र गर्भवती स्‍त्रीहरूका पेट चिर्नुहुनेछ ।”

“Why is my lord weeping?” asked Hazael. “Because I know the evil you will do to the Israelites,” Elisha replied. “You will set fire to their fortresses, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little ones to pieces, and rip open their pregnant women.”

13 हजाएलले भने, “तपाईंको दास को हो जसले यति ठुलो काम गरोस्? ऊ केवल एउटा कुकुर हो ।” एलीशाले भने, “तपाईं अरामका राजा बन्‍नुहुनेछ भनी परमप्रभुले मलाई देखाउनुभएको छ ।”

“But how could your servant, a mere dog, do such a monstrous thing?” said Hazael. And Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will be king over Aram.”

14 तब हजाएल एलीशाबाट बिदा भए र आफ्ना मालिककहाँ आए जसले तिनलाई सोधे, “एलीशाले तिमीलाई के भने?” तिनले जवाफ दिए, “तपाईं निश्‍चय नै निको हुनुहुनेछ भनी तिनले मलाई बताए ।”

So Hazael left Elisha and went to his master, who asked him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he replied, “He told me that you would surely recover.”

15 तब अर्को दिन हजाएलले कम्बल लिए र त्‍यो पानीमा चोपे, अनि त्‍यो बेन-हददको मुखमा राखिदए ताकि तिनी मरे । त्यसपछि तिनको ठाउँमा हजाएल राजा भए ।

But the next day Hazael took a thick cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it over the king’s face. So Ben-hadad died, and Hazael reigned in his place.

16 इस्राएलका राजा आहाबका छोरा योरामको पाँचौँ वर्षमा यहोरामले राज्‍य गर्न थाले । तिनी यहूदाका राजा यहोशापातका छोरा थिए । यहोशापात यहूदाका राजा हुँदादेखि नै तिनले राज्‍य गर्न थाले ।

In the fifth year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab over Israel, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat succeeded his father as king of Judah.

17 यहोरामले राज्‍य गर्न सुरु गर्दा तिनी बत्तिस वर्षका थिए, र तिनले यरूशलेममा आठ वर्ष राज्य गरे ।

Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.

18 आहाबको घरानाले गरेझैँ, यहोराम इस्राएलका राजाहरूका चालमा हिंडे किनकि तिनले आहाबकी छोरीलाई विवाह गरेका थिए, र परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा जे खराब थियो, त्यही तिनले गरे ।

And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.

19 तापनि, परमप्रभुका दास दाऊदको कारणले उहाँले यहूदालाई नष्‍ट गर्न चाहनुभएन, किनकि तिनलाई सधैँ सन्तानहरू दिनेछु भनी उहाँले तिनलाई भन्‍नुभएको थियो ।

Yet for the sake of His servant David, the LORD was unwilling to destroy Judah, since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.

20 यहोरामको समयमा, यहूदाको विरुद्धमा एदोम बागी भयो र आफ्‍नो निम्‍ति आफैले राजा नियुक्‍त गर्‍यो ।

In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.

21 त्यसपछि यहोराम आफ्ना सबै रथ लिएर जाईरमा गए । जब एदोमीहरूले यहोरामलाई घेरा हाले, तब तिनका रथ सेनापतिहरू उठे र तिनीहरूलाई रातमा आक्रमण गरे। तर यहोरामका सेना भागे र आ-आफ्ना घर फर्के ।

So Jehoram crossed over to Zair with all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night. His troops, however, fled to their homes.

22 त्यसैले आजको दिनसम्म नै एदोम यहूदाको शासनको विरुद्धमा बागी भएको छ । त्यसै बेला लिब्ना पनि बागी भयो ।

So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled at the same time.

23 यहोराम, र तिनले गरेका सबै कामका बारेमा यहूदाका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छैनन् र?

As for the rest of the acts of Jehoram, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

24 यहोराम आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसित सुते र तिनीहरूसँगै दाऊदको सहरमा गाडिए । त्यसपछि तिनको ठाउँमा तिनका छोरा अहज्याह राजा भए ।

And Jehoram rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Ahaziah reigned in his place.

25 इस्राएलका राजा आहाबका छोरा योरामको बार्‍हौँ वर्षमा यहूदाका राजा यहोरामका छोरा अहज्याहले राज्‍य गर्न सुरु गरे ।

In the twelfth year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab over Israel, Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

26 अहज्याहले राज्‍य गर्न सुरु गर्दा तिनी बाइस वर्षका थिए । तिनले यरूशलेममा एक वर्ष राज्य गरे । तिनकी आमाको नाउँ अतल्याह थियो । उनी इस्राएलका राजा ओम्रीकी छोरी थिइन् ।

Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.

27 अहज्याह आहाबको घरानाका चालमा हिंडे । आहाबको घरानाले गरेझैँ परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा जे खराब थियो, तिनले त्यही गरे किनकि अहज्याह आहाबको घरानाका ज्वाइँ थिए ।

And Ahaziah walked in the ways of the house of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for he was a son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

28 रामोत-गिलादमा अरामका राजा हजाएलको विरुद्धमा लडाइँ गर्न आहाबका छोरा योरामसितै अहज्याह गए । अरामीहरूले योरामलाई घाइते बनाए ।

Then Ahaziah went with Joram son of Ahab to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead, and the Arameans wounded Joram.

29 अरामका राजा हजाएलको विरुद्धमा राजा योरामले लडाइँ गर्दा रामोतमा अरामीहरूले तिनमा पारेको चोटबाट निको हुन तिनी यिजरेलमा फर्के । त्यसैले यहूदाका राजा यहोरामका छोरा अहज्याह आहाबका छोरा योरामलाई भेट्न यिजरेलमा झरे किनकि योराम घाइते भएका थिए ।

So King Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds that the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab, because Joram had been wounded.
