२ राजाहरू 3

1 यहूदाका राजा यहोशापातको अठारौँ वर्षमा आहाबका छोरा योरामले सामरियामा बसेर इस्राएलमा राज्‍य गर्न थाले । तिनले बाह्र वर्ष राज्य गरे ।

Now, Jehoram son of Ahab, began to reign over Israel, in Samaria, in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, —and he reigned twelve years.

2 परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा जे खराब थियो तिनले त्यही गरे, तर आफ्ना आमाबाबुले गरेझैँ त गरेनन् । किनकि आफ्ना पिताले बनाएका बालको चोखो ढुङ्गाको मूर्तिलाई तिनले हटाए ।

And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, only, not like his father, nor like his mother, —but he put away the pillars of Baal which, his father, had made;

3 तापनि इस्राएललाई पाप गर्न लगाउने नबातका छोरा यारोबामका पापहरूमा तिनी लागे । तिनी तीबाट फर्केनन् ।

nevertheless, unto the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat which he caused Israel to commit, he did cleave, —he turned not away therefrom

4 मोआबका राजा मेशाले भेडाहरू पाल्थे । तिनले इस्राएलका राजालाई एक लाख भेडाका पाठा र एक लाख भेडाका ऊन दिनुपर्थ्यो ।

Now, Mesha king of Moab, was a sheep-master, —and used to render to the king of Israel, the wool of hundred thousand fat sheep, and of a hundred thousand rams.

5 तर आहाब मरेपछि मोआबका राजाले इस्राएलको राजाको विरुद्धमा विद्रोह गरे ।

And it came to pass, when Ahab died, that the king of Moab revolted against the king of Israel.

6 त्यसैले त्यस बेला युद्धको लागि सारा इस्राएललाई भेला गराउन राजा योरामले सामरिया छाडे ।

So King Jehoram went forth, on that day, out of Samaria, and numbered all Israel.

7 तिनले यहूदाका राजा यहोशापातलाई यसो भनेर सन्देश पठाए, “मोआबका राजा मेरो विरुद्धमा बागी भएका छन् । मोआबको विरुद्धमा तपाईं मसँगै युद्ध गर्न जानुहुन्छ?” यहोशापातले जवाफ दिए, “म जानेछु । म तपाईंजस्तै हुँ, मेरा मानिसहरू तपाईंका मानिसहरूजस्तै हुन्, मेरा घोडाहरू तपाईंका घोडाहरूजस्तै हुन् ।”

And he departed, and sent unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying—The king of Moab, hath revolted against me, wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said—I will go up, I am as thou art, my people are as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

8 तब तिनले भने, “हामीले कुन दिशाबाट आक्रमण गर्नुपर्छ?” यहोशापातले जवाफ दिए, “एदोमको उजाड-स्थानको बाटोबाट ।”

And he said—Which way, then, shall we go up? And he said—The way of the wilderness of Edom.

9 त्यसैले यहूदाका राजा र एदोमका राजासँगै इस्राएलका राजा गए । तिनीहरू सात दिनसम्म यताउता भौंतारिए, अनि त्यहाँ सेनाका निम्‍ति र तिनीहरूलाई पछ्याउने पशुहरूका निम्‍ति पानी भएन ।

Then departed the king of Israel, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom, and went round, a journey of seven days, —and there was no water for the host, nor for the cattle that went with them.

10 त्यसैले इस्राएलका राजाले भने, “यो के हो? के परमेश्‍वरको मोआबको हातमा सुम्पिदिन हामी तिन जना राजालाई बोलाउनुभएको हो?”

Then said the king of Israel—Alas! for Yahweh hath called these three kings, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

11 तर यहोशापातले भने, “के यहाँ परमप्रभुका कुनै अगमवक्ता छैनन् जसद्वारा हामी परमप्रभुसँग सल्‍लाह लिन सक्छौँ?” इस्राएलका राजाका सेवकमध्‍ये एक जना जवाफ दियो र भन्‍यो, “शाफातका छोरा एलीशा यहीँ छन् जसले एलियाका हातमा पानी हाल्‍थे ।”

So Jehoshaphat said—Is there not, here, a prophet of Yahweh, that we may enquire of Yahweh, from him? Then answered one of the servants of the king of Israel, and said, Here, is Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

12 यहोशापातले भने, “परमप्रभुको वचन तिनीसित छ ।” त्यसैले इस्राएलका राजा यहोशापात र एदोमका राजा तिनीकहाँ तल गए ।

Then said Jehoshaphat, The word of Yahweh, is with him. So the king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, and the king of Edom, went down unto him.

13 एलीशाले इस्राएलका राजालाई भने, “मेरो तपाईंसित के सरोकार छ र? तपाईंका बुबाआमाका अगमवक्ताहरूकहाँ जानुहोस् ।” त्यसैले इस्राएलका राजाले तिनलाई भने, “अहँ, परमप्रभुले हामी तिन जना राजालाई एकैसाथ मोआबको हातमा सुम्पिदिनलाई बोलाउनुभएको छ ।”

And Elisha said unto the king of Israel—What have I and thou in common? get thee unto the prophets of thy father, and unto the prophets of thy mother. But the king of Israel said to him—Nay! for Yahweh hath called together these three kings, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

14 एलीशाले भने, “सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु जिवित जसको सामु म खडा हुन्छु, उहाँको नाउँमा शपथ खाएर म भन्छु । मैले यहूदाका राजा यहोशापातको उपस्थितिलाई आदर नगर्ने भए म तपाईंलाई ध्‍यान दिने थिइनँ वा तपाईंलाई हेर्ने पनि थिइनँ ।

Then said Elisha—By the life of Yahweh of hosts, before whom I stand, were it not that, the countenance of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would lift up, I would neither look at thee, nor see thee.

15 तर अब मकहाँ एक जना सङ्गीतकार ल्याउनुहोस् ।” जब वीणा बजाउनेले वीणा बजाए तब परमप्रभुको हात एलीशामाथि पर्‍यो ।

But, now, bring me one that can touch the strings. For it used to be, when the player touched the strings, then would, the hand of Yahweh, be upon him.

16 तिनले भने, “परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ, 'यो सुक्खा नदीको उपत्यकालाई खाल्डै-खाल्डो बनाओ ।'

Then said he, Thus, saith Yahweh, Make, in this torrent-bed, pits, pits!

17 किनकि परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ, 'तिमीहरूले बतास देख्‍नेछैनौ, न त वर्षा देख्‍नेछौ, तर यो नदीको उपत्यका पानीले भरिनेछ, अनि तिमीहरू, तिमीहरूका गाईवस्तु र सबै पशुले पिउनेछौ ।'

For, thus, saith Yahweh—Ye shall not see wind, and ye shall not see rain, yet, that torrent-bed, shall be filled with water, —And ye shall drink, ye, and your cattle, and your beasts;

18 यो परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा मामुली कुरो हो । उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई मोआबीहरूमाथि विजयी पनि तुल्याउनुहुनेछ ।

And, this being a small thing in the eyes of Yahweh, he will deliver Moab into your hand;

19 किल्लाले घेरिएको हरेक सहर र हरेक असल सहरलाई तिमीहरूले आक्रमण गर्नेछौ, हरेक असल रुखलाई काटेर ढालिदिनेछौ, पानीका सबै मुहान बन्द गरिदिनेछौ र हरेक असल खेतलाई ढुङ्गाले विनाश गरिदिनेछौ ।”

And ye shall smite every strong city, and every choice city, and, every goodly tree, shall ye fell, and, all fountains water, shall ye close up, —and, every goodly heritage, shall ye mar with stones.

20 त्यसैले बिहान बलि चढाउने समयमा एदोमको दिशाबाट पानी आयो । देश पानीले भरियो ।

And it came to pass, in the morning, when the offering ascended, that lo! waters, were coming in from the way of Edom, —and the land was filled with the water.

21 जब सारा मोआबीहरूले तिनीहरूको विरुद्धमा लडाइँ गर्न राजाहरू आए भनी सुने, तिनीहरूमा हतियार भिर्न सक्‍ने सबै जनाले आफैलाई एकसाथ भेला गराए र तिनीहरू सिमानामा तैनाथ भए ।

Now, all Moab, had heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, —so they came together, from all who could gird on a girdle and upwards, and took their stand at the border.

22 तिनीहरू बिहान सबेरै ब्युँझे र पानीमा घाम प्रतिबिम्‍बित भयो । मोआबीहरूले तिनीहरूको सामु भएको पानी हेरे, तब त्‍यो रगतजस्तै रातो देखियो ।

And, when they rose early in the morning, the sun, shone forth upon the waters, —and so the Moabites beheld over against them, the waters, red as blood.

23 तिनीहरू चिच्‍च्याए, “यो त रगत पो हो! निश्‍चय नै राजाहरूको नाश भएको छ र तिनीहरूले एक-अर्कालाई मारेका छन्! त्यसैले, हे मोआबी हो, हामी गएर तिनीहरूलाई लुटौँ ।”

They said therefore—Blood, —this! Destroyed! The kings have destroyed each other! Yea they have smitten every man his neighbour, —Now, then, to the spoil, O Moab!

24 जब तिनीहरू इस्राएलको छाउनीमा आए, तब इस्राएलीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई छक्‍क पारे र मोआबीहरूलाई आक्रमण गरे जो तिनीहरूका सामुबाट भागे । इस्राएलका सेनाले मोआबीहरूलाई मार्दै तिनीहरूलाई देशको पारिसम्म खेदे ।

And, when they came into the camp of Israel, Israel arose and smote Moab, and they fled from before them, —so they entered thereinto, yea still farther entered Moab;

25 तिनीहरूले सहरहरू नष्‍ट पारे, र हरेक असल खेत ढुङ्गाले नभरिएसम्म हरेक मानिसले ढुङ्गा फ्याँके । तिनीहरूले हरेक पानीको मुहान थुनिदिए, र सबै असल रुखहरू काटिदिए । कीर-हरेशेत मात्र ढुङ्गाहरूसमेत त्यसको ठाउँमा छोडियो । तर घुयेँत्रो भिरेका सिपाहीहरूले त्यसलाई पनि घेरा हाले र आक्रमण गरे ।

And, the cities, they pulled down, and, on every goodly heritage, they cast every man his stone, and filled it, and, all fountains of waters, they closed up, and, every goodly tree, they felled, and, though they left the stones thereof in Kir-haraseth, yet the slingers surrounded and smote it.

26 जब मोआबका राजा मेशाले युद्ध हारेको देखे, तब पार गरेर एदोमका राजाकहाँ जानलाई तिनले सात सय जना तरवार भिरेका मानिसलाई आफूसँग लगे, तर तिनीहरू सफल भएनन् ।

And, when the king of Moab saw that, the battle, prevailed against him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through against the king of Edom, but they could not.

27 तब तिनले आफ्नो जेठो छोरो लिए जो तिनीपछि राजा हुनेथिए र तिनलाई होमबलिको रूपमा पर्खालमा चढाए । यसैले इस्राएलको विरुद्धमा चर्को क्रोध पर्‍यो, र इस्राएली सेनाले राजा मेशालाई छाडे रतिनीहरूका आफ्‍नै देशमा फर्के ।

So he took his firstborn son who was to have reigned in his stead, and offered him up as an ascending-sacrifice upon the wall. And so it came to pass that there was great indignation against Israel. And they brake up from against him, and returned to their own land.
