1 परमेश्वरका आत्मा ओदेदका छोरा अजर्याहमाथि आउनुभयो ।
Now, as for Azariah son of Oded, there came upon him, the spirit of God.
2 तिनी आसालाई भेट गर्न गए र तिनलाई भने, “ए आसा, यहूदा र बेन्यामीनका सबै जना, मेरा कुरा सुन्नुहोस्: जब तपाईंहरू परमप्रभुसँग रहनुहुन्छ, तब उहाँ पनि तपाईंहरूसँग हुनुहुन्छ । तपाईंहरूले उहाँलाई खोज्नुभयो भने, तपाईंहरूले उहाँलाई भेट्टाउनुहुनेछ । तर तपाईंहरूले उहाँलाई त्याग्नुभयो भने उहाँले पनि तपाईंहरूलाई त्याग्नुहुनेछ ।
So he went forth to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear me, O Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin, —Yahweh, is with you, so long as ye are with him, and, if ye seek him, he will be found of you, but, if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
3 अब धेरै समयसम्म इस्राएल साँचो परमेश्वर, सिकाउने पुजारी र व्यवस्थाविना थियो ।
Now, many days, had Israel been, —without the faithful God, and without a teaching priest, and without the law;
4 तर जब आफ्नो कष्टमा तिनीहरू परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वरतिर फर्के र उहाँलाई खोजे, तब तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई पाउन सके ।
But they turned, in their distress, unto Yahweh God of Israel, —and sought him, and he was found of them.
5 त्यसबेला यहाँबाट यात्रा गरेर टाढा जाने र यात्रा गरेर यहाँ आउने दुबैलाई शान्ति थिएन । बरू, देशमा बसोबास गर्ने सबैमाथि ठूलो संकष्ट थियो ।
And, in those times, there had been no prosperity, to him that went out nor to him that came in, —for, great consternations, were upon all the inhabitants of the lands;
6 तिनीहरू टुक्रा-टुक्रा पारिए, राष्ट्रको विरूद्ध राष्ट्र, र सहरको विरूद्ध सहर, किनकि परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई सबै किसिमका दु: खले समस्यामा पार्नुभयो ।
and they were beaten in pieces-nation against nation, and city against city, —for, God, discomfited them with all manner of distress.
7 तर तपाईंहरू बलियो हुनुहोस्, आफ्ना हातहरू कमजोर हुन नदिनुहोस्, किनकि तपाईंका कामहरूको प्रतिफल दिइनेछ ।”
Ye, therefore, be strong, and let not your hands be slack, —for there is a reward for your work!
8 जब आसाले यी कुरा, ओदेदका छोरा अजर्याह अगमवक्ताका अगमवाणी सुने, तब तिनको साहस बढ्यो, र यहूदा र बेन्यामीनका सारा देश र तिनले कब्जा गरेका एफ्राइमका पहाडी देशका सहरहरूबाट घिनलाग्दा कुराहरू सबै हटाइदिए, र तिनले परमप्रभुको मन्दिरका दलानको अगि भएको परमप्रभुको वेदी पनि मरम्मत गरे ।
And, when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he strengthened himself, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had captured out of the hill country of Ephraim, —and renewed the altar of Yahweh, that was before the porch of Yahweh.
9 तिनले सारा यहूदा र बेन्यामीन र एफ्राइम, मनश्शे र शिमियोनबाट तिनीहरूसँग बस्नेहरूलाई भेला गरे । किनभने परमप्रभु तिनका परमेश्वर तिनीसँग हुनुभएको तिनीहरूले देखेर इस्राएलबाट तिनीहरू धेरै सङ्ख्यामा तिनीकहाँ आए ।
And he gathered together all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them, out of Ephraim and out of Manasseh, and out of Simeon, —for they fell unto him out of Israel, in great numbers, because they saw that, Yahweh his God, was with him.
10 यसैले आसाका राजकालको पन्ध्रौँ वर्षको तेस्रो महिनामा तिनीहरू यरूशलेममा एकसाथ भेला भए ।
So they gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem, in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
11 त्यस दिन तिनीहरूले ल्याएको लूटका मालबाट परमप्रभुलाई सात सय साँढे र सात हजार भेडाहरू र बाख्राहरू बलिदान चढाए ।
And they sacrificed unto Yahweh, on that day, out of the spoil they had brought in, —oxen, seven hundred, and sheep, seven thousand.
12 तिनीहरू आफ्ना सारा हृदय र आफ्ना सारा प्राणले परमप्रभु आफ्ना पुर्खाका परमेश्वरको खोजी गर्नलाई करार बाँधे ।
And they entered into a covenant, to seek Yahweh, God of their fathers, —with all their heart, and with all their soul;
13 अनि परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वरलाई नखोज्ने जोसुकैलाई मारिनुपर्छ भन्ने कुरामा तिनीहरूले सहमती गरेः चाहे त्यो व्यक्ति सानो होस् वा ठूलो होस्, चाहे पुरुष होस् वा स्त्री होस् ।
and, whosoever would not seek unto Yahweh God of Israel, should be put to death, —whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14 तिनीहरूले ठूलो सोर, चिच्च्याएर, र तुरहीहरू र नरसिङ्गा बजाउँदै परमप्रभुसँग शपथ खाए ।
So they bound themselves by oath unto Yahweh, with a loud voice, and with shouting, —and with trumpets and with horns.
15 सारा यहूदा शपथमा आनन्दित भयो, किनकि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना पूरा हृदयले शपथ खाएका थिए, र तिनीहरूले आफ्ना सारा इच्छाले परमेश्वरलाई खोजे, र तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई पाउन सके । तिनीहरूका वरिपरि सबैतिरबाट परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई शान्ति दिनुभयो ।
And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for, with all their heart, had they sworn, and, with all their good will, had they sought him, and he was found of them, —and Yahweh gave them rest round about.
16 तिनले आफ्नी हजुरआमा माकालाई पनि राजमाताको पदबाट हटाइदिए, किनभने तिनले अशेरा देवीको खम्बोबाट घिनलाग्दो मूर्ति बनाएकी थिइन् । आसाले त्यो घिनलाग्दो मूर्तिलाई काटेर ढालिदिए, त्यसलाई धुलोपिठो पारे र किद्रोन खोल्सामा जलाइदिए ।
Moreover also, as touching Maacah mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made, unto the Sacred Stem, a monstrous thing, —so Asa cut down her monstrous thing, and reduced it to dust, and burnt it up, in the Kidron ravine.
17 तर डाँडाहरूमा भएका अल्गा थानहरू इस्राएलबाट हटाइएनन् । तापनि आसाको जीवनकालभरि तिनको हृदय विश्वासयोग्य रहिरह्यो ।
But, the high places, were not taken away out of Israel, —only, the heart of Asa, was perfect, all his days.
18 तिनले आफ्ना पिताले अर्पण गरेका सुन, चाँदी र भाँडाकुँडाहरू परमेश्वरको मन्दिरमा ल्याए ।
And he brought the hallowed things of his father and his own hallowed things, into the house of God, —silver and gold, and utensils.
19 आसाको राजकालको पैँतिसौँ वर्षसम्म कुनै युद्ध भएन ।
And, war, was there none, —until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.
