१ शमूएल 14
1 एक दिन शाऊलका जोनाथनले आफ्नो हतियार बोक्ने जवानलाई भने, “आऊ, हामी पल्लोपट्टि भएको पलिश्तीहरूको चौकीमा जाऔं ।” तर तिनले आफ्नो बुबालाई चाहिं भनेनन् ।
Then on a day Ionathan the sonne of Saul sayde vnto the yong man that bare his armour, Come and let vs goe ouer towarde the Philistims garison, that is yonder on the other side, but he tolde not his father.
2 शऊलचाहिं मोग्रोनमा भएको अनारको बोटमुनि गिबाको छेउमा बसिरहेको थियो । तिनीसँग झण्डै छ सय मानिस थिए,
And Saul taried in the border of Gibeah vnder a pomegranate tree, which was in Migron, and the people that were with him, were about sixe hundreth men.
3 एपोद लगाउने शीलोमा परमप्रभुको पुजारी एलीका पनाति, पीनहासका नाति, अहीतूबका छोरा (ईकाबोदका भाइ) अहियाहसहित । जोनाथान गएको थिए भन्ने कुरा मानिसहरूलाई थाहा थिएन ।
And Ahiah the sonne of Ahitub, Ichabods brother, the sonne of Phinehas, the sonne of Eli, was the Lordes Priest in Shiloh, and ware an Ephod: and the people knewe not that Ionathan was gone.
4 पलिश्तीहरूको चौकीमा पुग्नलाई जोनाथनले जान चाहेका घाटीको एकापट्टि एउटा पत्थरको पहरो थियो भने, अर्कोपट्टि अर्को पत्थरको पहरो थियो । एउटा पत्थरको पहरोलाई बोसेस र अर्को पत्थरको पहरोलाई सेनेह भनिन्थ्यो ।
Nowe in the way whereby Ionathan sought to go ouer to the Philistims garison, there was a sharpe rocke on the one side, and a sharpe rocke on the other side: the name of the one was called Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
5 पत्थरको एउटा पहरो उत्तरमा मिकमाशको सामुन्ने र अर्को दक्षिणमा गेबाको सामुन्ने थियो ।
The one rocke stretched from the North towarde Michmash, and the other was from the South toward Gibeah.
6 जोनाथनले आफ्नो हतियार बोक्ने जवानलाई भने, “आऊ, यी बेखतनाहरूका चौकीमा पारि जाऔं । सायद परमप्रभुले हाम्रो पक्षमा काम गर्न सक्नुहुनेछ, किनकि धेरै वा थोरै जनाबाट बचाउन परमप्रभुलाई कुनै कुराले रोक्न सक्दैन ।”
And Ionathan saide to the yong man that bare his armour, Come, and let vs goe ouer vnto the garison of these vncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will worke with vs: for it is not hard to the Lord to saue with many, or with fewe.
7 तिनका हतियार बोक्नेले जवाफ दिए, “आफ्नो मनमा जे लागेको छ सो गर्नुहोस् । अगि बढ्नुहोस्, हेर्नुहोस्, तपाईंका सबै आज्ञा पालन गर्न म तपाईंको साथमा छु ।”
And he that bare his armour, saide vnto him, Doe all that is in thine heart: goe where it pleaseth thee: beholde, I am with thee as thine heart desireth.
8 तब जोनाथनले भने, “हामी ती मानिसकहाँ पारि जानेछौं र हामी आफै तिनीहरकहाँ देखा पर्नेछौं ।
Then said Ionathan, Beholde, we goe ouer vnto those men, and will shewe our selues vnto them.
9 तिनीहरूले भन्छन्, ‘तिमीहरूकहाँ हामी नआएसम्म त्यहीं पर्ख,' भने— हामी आफ्नै ठाउँमा बस्नेछौं र हामी तिनीहरूकहाँ पारि जानेछैनौं ।
If they say on this wise to vs, Tarie vntill we come to you, then we will stand still in our place, and not goe vp to them.
10 तर तिनीहरूले जवाफ दिन्छन्, 'हामीकहाँ वारि आओ' भने, हामी पारि तर्नेछौं । किनभने परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई हाम्रो हातमा दिनुभएको छ । यो हाम्रो निम्ति चिन्ह हुनेछ ।”
But if they say, Come vp vnto vs, then we will goe vp: for the Lord hath deliuered them into our hande: and this shall be a signe vnto vs.
11 त्यसैले तिनीहरू दुवैले आफूलाई पलिश्तीहरूको चौकीमा प्रकट गरे । पलिश्तीहरूले भने, “हेर, हिब्रूहरू आफू लुकेका प्वालहरूबाट निस्किरहेका छन् ।”
So they both shewed themselues vnto the garison of the Philistims: and the Philistims said, See, the Ebrewes come out of the holes wherein they had hid themselues.
12 तब चौकीका मानिसहरूले जोनाथन र तिनको हतियार बोक्नेलाई बोलाए र भने, “हामीकहाँ आओ र तिमीहरूलाई हामी केही कुरा देखाउनेछौं ।” जोनाथनले आफ्नो हतियार बोक्नेलाई भने, “मेरो पछि आऊ, किनभने परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई इस्राएलको हातमा दिनुभएको छ ।”
And the men of the garison answered Ionathan, and his armour bearer, and said, Come vp to vs: for we will shewe you a thing. Then Ionathan said vnto his armour bearer, Come vp after me: for the Lord hath deliuered them into the hand of Israel.
13 जोनाथन आफ्ना हात र खुट्टा टेकेर चढे र तिनको हतियार बोक्नेले तिनको पछि गए । जोनाथनको सामु पलिश्तीहरू मारिए र तिनको पछाडी तिनको हतियार बोक्नेले कति जनालाई मारे ।
So Ionathan went vp vpon his hands and vpon his feete, and his armour bearer after him: and some fell before Ionathan, and his armour bearer slewe others after him.
14 जोनाथन र तिनको हतियार बोक्नेले गरेको पहिलो आक्रमणमा चार रोपनी जतिको क्षेत्रमा झण्डै बिस जना मानिस मारिए ।
So the first slaughter which Ionathan and his armour bearer made, was about twentie men, as it were within halfe an acre of land which two oxen plowe.
15 छाउनी, मैदान र मानिसहरू माझ त्रास फैलियो । चौकीहरू र लुट्ने टोलीहरू पनि त्रासित भए । पृथ्वी हल्लियो र त्यहाँ ठुलो त्रास छायो ।
And there was a feare in the hoste, and in the field, and among all the people: the garison also, and they that went out to spoyle, were afraid themselues: and the earth trembled: for it was striken with feare by God.
16 त्यसपछि बेन्यामीनको गिबामा रहेको शाऊलका पहरा बस्नेले देख्यो । पलिश्ती सिपाहीहरूका भीड तितरबितर भइरहेको थियो र तिनीहरू यताउता गरिरहेका थिए ।
Then the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Beniamin sawe: and beholde, the multitude was discomfited, and smitten as they went.
17 तब शाऊलले आफूसँग भएका मानिसहरूलाई भने, “हाम्रो बिचबाट को हराएको छ, गनेर हेर ।” जब तिनीहरूले गन्ती गरे, जोनाथन र तिनको हतियार बोक्ने हराएको थाहा भयो ।
Therefore saide Saul vnto the people that were with him, Search nowe and see, who is gone from vs. And when they had nombred, beholde, Ionathan and his armour bearer were not there.
18 शाऊलले अहियाहलाई भने, “परमेश्वरको सन्दुक यहाँ ल्याऊ,” किनकि त्यस बेला यो इस्राएलका मानिसहरूसँग थियो ।
And Saul said vnto Ahiah, Bring hither the Arke of God (for the Arke of God was at that time with the children of Israel)
19 शाऊल पुजारीसँग बोलिरहँदा पलिश्तीहरूको छाउनीको हल्ला झन् बढ्दै थियो । तब शाऊलले पुजारीलाई भने, “तिम्रो हात झिक ।”
And while Saul talked vnto the Priest, the noyse that was in the hoste of the Philistims, spred farther abroade, and encreased: therefore Saul said vnto the Priest, Withdraw thine hand.
20 शाऊल र तिनीसँग भएका सबै मानिसहरू भेला भए र लडाइँ गर्न गए । हरेक पलिश्तीले आ-आफ्नो साथीलाई तरवारले प्रहार गरिरहेको थियो र त्यहाँ ठुलो अन्योलता थियो ।
And Saul was assembled with all the people that were with him, and they came to the battell: and behold, euery mans sworde was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture.
21 अब पहिले पलिश्तीहरूसँग रहेका ती हिब्रूहरू जो तिनीहरूका छाउनीमा गएका थिए, तिनीहरू पनि इस्राएलीहरू, शाऊल र जोनाथनकहाँ आए ।
Moreouer, the Ebrewes that were with the Philistims beforetime, and were come with them into all partes of the hoste, euen they also turned to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and Ionathan.
22 जब एफ्राइम नजिकको पहाडतिर लुकेका इस्राएलका सबै मानिसले पलिश्तीहरू भागिरहेका छन् भनी सुने, तब तिनीहरूले पनि उनीहरूलाई युद्धमा खेदे ।
Also all the men of Israel which had hid themselues in mount Ephraim, when they heard, that the Philistims were fled, they followed after them in the battell.
23 यसरी परमप्रभुले त्यस दिन इस्राएललाई छुटकाटा दिनुभयो र युद्ध बेथ-अवन पारिसम्म नै फैलियो ।
And so the Lord saued Israel that day: and the battell continued vnto Beth-auen.
24 त्यस दिन इस्राएलका मानिसहरू व्याकुल भएका थिए किनभने, “साँझसम्म र मैले आफ्ना शत्रुहरूमाथि बद्ला नलिएसम्म खाना खाने कुनै पनि मानिस श्रापित होस्” भनेर शाऊलले मानिसहरूलाई शपथ खान लगाएका थिए । त्यसैले फौजका कुनै पनि व्यक्तिले खाना चाखेका थिएनन् ।
And at that time the men of Israel were pressed with hunger: for Saul charged the people with an othe, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth foode till night, that I may be auenged of mine enemies: so none of the people tasted any sustenance.
25 त्यसपछि सबै मानिसहरू जङ्गभित्र पसे र त्यहाँ जमिनमा मह थियो ।
And all they of the land came to a wood, where hony lay vpon the ground.
26 जब मानिसहरू जङ्गलभित्र पसे, तब मह बग्न थाल्यो, तर कसैले पनि महमा हात लगाएन, किनभने मानिसहरू शपथदेखि डराएका थिए ।
And the people came into the wood, and beholde, the hony dropped, and no man mooued his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the othe.
27 तर जोनाथनले आफ्ना बुबाले मानिसहरूलाई शपथ खान लगाएको कुरा सुनेका थिएनन् । तिनले आफ्नो हातमा भएको लट्ठी पसारे र यसले महको चाकामा घोचे । तिनले आफ्नो हात आफ्नो मुखमा लगे र तिनका आँखामा तेज आयो ।
But Ionathan heard not when his father charged the people with the othe: wherefore he put foorth the ende of the rod that was in his hand, and dipt it in an hony combe, and put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes receiued sight.
28 तब मानिसहरूमध्ये एक जनाले भने, “तपाईंको बुबाले 'आजको दिन खाना खाने मानिस श्रापित होस्' भनी मानिसहरूलाई कडा शपथ खान लगाउनुभयो, यद्यपि मानिसहरू भोकले कमजोर भएका छन् ।
Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father made the people to sweare, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth sustenance this day: and the people were faint.
29 तब जोनाथनल भने, “मेरो बुबाले देशलाई कष्ट दिनुभएको छ । हेर, मैले यो थोरै मह चाखेर मेरा आँखाहरू कति तेजिला भएका छन् ।
Then said Ionathan, My father hath troubled the land: see nowe howe mine eyes are made cleare, because I haue tasted a litle of this honie:
30 मानिसहरूले आफ्ना शत्रुहरूको लूटबाट स्वतन्त्र भएर खाएका भए कति धेरै राम्रो हुन्थ्यो? किनभने अहिले पालिश्तीहरूका माझमा ठुलो संहार भएको छैन ।”
Howe much more, if the people had eaten to day of the spoyle of their enemies which they found? for had there not bene nowe a greater slaughter among the Philistims?
31 तिनीहरूले त्यस दिन पलिश्तीहरूलाई मिकमाशदेखि अय्यालोनसम्म आक्रमण गरे । मानिसहरू धेरै थकित भए ।
And they smote the Philistims that day, from Michmash to Aiialon: and the people were exceeding faint.
32 मानिसहरू लूटहरूमा लोभ गरेर झुम्मिए, अनि भेडाहरू, गोरुहरू र पाठाहरू लिए र तिनलाई जमिनमा मारे । मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूलाई रगतसँगै खाए ।
So the people turned to the spoile, and tooke sheepe, and oxen, and calues, and slewe them on the ground, and the people did eate them with the blood.
33 तब तिनीहरूले शाऊललाई भने, “हेर्नुहोस्, मानिसहरूले रगतसँगै खाएर परमप्रभुको विरुद्धमा पाप गरिरहेका छन् ।” शाऊलले भने, “तिमीहरूले अविश्वसी कसिमले काम गरेका छौ । अब यहाँ मकहाँ एउटा ठुलो ढुङ्गा ल्याओ ।”
Then men tolde Saul, saying, Beholde, the people sinne against the Lord, in that they eate with the blood. And he saide, Ye haue trespassed: roule a great stone vnto me this day.
34 शाऊलले भने, “मानिसहरूको बिचमा जाओ र तिनीहरूलाई भन, 'हरेक मानिसले आ-आफ्नो गोरु र भेडहरू यहाँ ल्याओस् र मारोस् र खाओस् । रगतसँगै खाएर परमप्रभुको विरुद्धमा पाप नगर' ।” त्यसैले हरेक मानिसले आ-आफ्ना गोरु आफूसँग ल्याए र यसलाई त्यहाँ मारे ।
Againe Saul said, Goe abroade among the people, and bid them bring me euery man his oxe, and euery man his sheepe, and slay them here, and eate and sinne not against the Lord in eating with the blood. And ye people brought euery man his oxe in his hand that night, and slew them there.
35 शाऊलले परमप्रभुको निम्ति एउटा वेदी वनाए, जुन तिनले परमप्रभुको निम्ति बनाएका पहिको वेदी थियो ।
Then Saul made an altar vnto the Lord, and that was the first altar that he made vnto the Lord.
36 तब शाऊलले भने, “पलिश्तीहरूलाई राती गएर पिछा गरौं र बिहानसम्ममा तिनीहरूलाई लूटौं । तिनीहरूलाई एउटै पनि जीवित नछोडौं ।” तिनीहरूले जवाफ दिए, “तपाईंलाई जे असल लाग्छ सो गर्नुहोस् ।” तर पुजारी भने, “यहाँ परमेश्वरकहाँ जाऔं ।”
And Saul saide, Let vs goe downe after the Philistims by night, and spoyle them vntill the morning shine, and let vs not leaue a man of them. And they saide, Doe whatsoeuer thou thinkest best. Then saide the Priest, Let vs drawe neere hither vnto God.
37 शाऊलले परमेश्वरलाई सोधे, “के म पलिश्तीहरूको पिछा गरौं? के तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई इस्राएलको हातमा सुम्पनुहुने छ?” तर परमेश्वरले त्यस दिन तिनलाई जवाफ दिनुभएन ।
So Saul asked of God, saying, Shall I goe downe after ye Philistims? wilt thou deliuer them into the hands of Israel? But he answered him not at that time.
38 तब शाऊलले भने, “मानिसहरूका सबै अगुवाहरू यहाँ आओ । आज यो पाप कसरी गरियो सिक र हेर ।
And Saul said, All ye chiefe of the people, come ye hither, and knowe, and see by whom this sinne is done this day.
39 किनकि जसरी इस्राएललाई छुटकारा दिनुहुने परमप्रभु जीवित हुनुहुन्छ, यो मेरो छोरा जोनाथन नै भए पनि निश्चय नै मर्नेछ ।” तर सबै मानिसमध्येका कुनैले पनि तिनलाई जवाफ दिएन ।
For as the Lord liueth, which saueth Israel, though it be done by Ionathan my sonne, he shall dye the death. But none of all the people answered him.
40 तब तिनले सबै इस्राएललाई भने, “तिमीहरू एकपट्टि खडा हुनुपर्छ, अनि म र मेरो छोरा जोनाथन अर्कोपट्टि खडा हुनेछौं ।” मानिसहरूले शाऊललाई भने, “तपाईंलाई जे असल लाग्छ सो गर्नुहोस् ।”
Then he saide vnto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Ionathan my sonne will be on the other side. And the people saide vnto Saul, Doe what thou thinkest best.
41 शाऊलले भने, “हे परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वर, यो पाप म वा मेरो छोरा जोनाथनले गरेको हो भने, हे परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वर मलाई ऊरीम दिनुहोस् । तर यो पाप तपाईंका मानिस इस्राएलले गरेका हुन् भने तुम्मीम दिनुहोस् ।” अनि चिट्ठाले जोनाथन र शाऊललाई पार्यो, तर फौजलाई अलग गर्यौ ।
Then Saul said vnto the Lord God of Israel, Giue a perfite lot. And Ionathan and Saul were taken, but the people escaped.
42 त्यसपछि शाउलले भने, “म र मेरो छोरा जोनाथनको बिचमा चिट्ठा हाल ।” अनि चिट्टाले जोनाथनलाई छान्यो ।
And Saul saide, Cast lot betweene me and Ionathan my sonne. And Ionathan was taken.
43 शाऊलले जोनाथनलाई भने, “तिमीले के गरेका छौ मलाई भन ।” जोनाथनले तिनले भने, “मैले मेरो हातमा भएको लट्ठीको टुप्पोले थोरै मह चाखें । म यहाँ छु । म मर्नेछु ।”
Then Saul said to Ionathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Ionathan tolde him, and said, I tasted a litle hony with the ende of the rod, that was in mine hand, and loe, I must die.
44 शाऊलले भने, “ए जोनाथन, तिमी मरेनौ भने, परमेश्वरले मलाई त्यसै वा त्योभन्दा बढी गर्नुभएको होस् ।”
Againe Saul answered, God doe so and more also, vnlesse thou die the death, Ionathan.
45 तब मानिसहरूले शाऊललाई भने, “इस्राएलको निम्ति यत्रो विजय ल्याउने जोनाथन मर्नुपर्छ? यस्तो हुँदै नहोस्! परमप्रभु जीवित हुनुभएझैं, तिनको शिरबाट एउटा कपाल पनि झर्नेछैन, किनकि आज तिनले परमेश्वरसँग काम गरेका छन् ।” यसरी मानिसहरूले जोनाथनको उद्धार गरे ताकि तिनी मरेनन् ।
And the people said vnto Saul, Shall Ionathan die, who hath so mightily deliuered Israel? God forbid. As the Lord liueth, there shall not one heare of his head fall to the ground: for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people deliuered Ionathan that he dyed not.
46 त्यसपछि शाऊलले पलिश्तीहरूको पिछा गर्न छोडे र पलिश्तीहरू आ-आफ्ना घरमा गए ।
Then Saul came vp from the Philistims: and the Philistims went to their owne place.
47 जब शाऊलले इस्राएलमाथि राज्य गर्न सुरु गरे, तब तिनले सबैतिरका आफ्ना शत्रुहरूको विरुद्धमा युद्ध गरे । तिनले मोआब, अम्मोनीहरू, एदोम, सोबका राजाहरू र पलिश्तीहरूको विरुद्धमा युद्ध गरे । तिनी जता फर्किए, त्यतै तिनले उनीहरूलाई दण्ड दिए ।
So Saul helde the kingdome ouer Israel, and fought against all his enemies on euery side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the Kings of Zobah, and against the Philistims: and whithersoeuer he went, he handled them as wicked men.
48 तिनले ठुलो साहसले काम गरे र अमालेकीहरूलाई पराजित गरे । तिनले इस्राएललाई लुट्नेहरूको हातबाट छुटकारा दिए ।
He gathered also an hoste and smote Amalek, and deliuered Israel out of the handes of them that spoyled them.
49 शाऊलका छोराहरू जोनाथन, यिश्वी र मल्कीशूअ थिए । तिनकी जेठी छोरीहरूको नाउँ मेराब र कान्छीको नाउँ मिकल थियो ।
Nowe the sonnes of Saul were Ionathan, and Ishui, and Malchishua: and the names of his two daughters, the elder was called Merab, and the yonger was named Michal.
50 शाऊलको पत्नीको नाउँ अहिनोम थियो । तिनी अहीमासकी छोरी थिइन् । तिनको फौजको कप्तानको नाउँ शाऊलका काका नेरका छोरा अबनेर थियो ।
And the name of Sauls wife was Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of his chiefe captaine was Abner the sonne of Ner, Sauls vncle.
51 कीश शाउलका बुबा थिए । अनि अबनेरका बुबा नेर अबीएलका छोरा थिए ।
And Kish was Sauls father: and Ner the father of Abner was the sonne of Abiel.
52 शाऊलको जीवनकालभरि नै पलिश्तीहरूसँग कडा युद्ध चलिरह्यो । जब शाऊलले कुनै वीर वा बलियो मानिसलाई देख्थे, तब तिनले उसलाई आफूसँगै राख्थे ।
And there was sore warre against the Philistims all the dayes of Saul: and whomsoeuer Saul sawe to be a strong man, and meete for the warre, he tooke him vnto him.
