१ पत्रुस 1
1 पोन्टस, गलातिया, कापाडोकिया, एसिया र बिथिनियाभरि छरिएर रहेका परदेशीहरूलाई येशू ख्रीष्टका प्रेरित पत्रुसबाट ।
Peter, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the dispersion, of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia--
2 येशू ख्रीष्टप्रतिको आज्ञाकारिता र उहाँको रगतको छिट्काइको निम्ति परमेश्वर पिताको पूर्वज्ञानअनुसार पवित्र आत्माको शुद्धिकरणद्वारा चुनिएकाहरू । तिमीहरूमा अनुग्रह होस् र तिमीहरूको शान्तिको वृद्धि होस् ।
according to the predetermination of God the Father, by a sanctification of the Spirit, in order to obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Favor and peace be multiplied to you.
3 परमेश्वर र हाम्रा प्रभु येशू ख्रीष्टका पिता धन्यको हुनुभएको होस् । उहाँको महान् दयामा मृतकहरूबाट येशू ख्रीष्टको पुनरुत्थानद्वारा ईश्वरीय उत्तराधिकारको निश्चयतको लागि हामीलाई नयाँ जन्म दिनुभयो ।
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his great mercy, has regenerated us to a lively hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 किनकि कहिल्यै नष्ट नहुने ईश्वरीय उत्तराधिकारमा कहिल्यै दाग लाग्दैन र यो कहिल्यै बिलाएर पनि जाँदैन । यो तिमीहरूका निम्ति स्वर्गमा संरक्षित छ ।
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and unfading, preserved in the heavens for us;
5 अन्तिम समयमा प्रकट हुने उद्धारको निम्ति तिमीहरू विश्वासद्वारा परमेश्वरको शक्तिले सुरक्षित राखिएका छौ ।
who, by the power of God, are guarded through faith, to the salvation prepared to be revealed in the last time.
6 अहिले तिमीहरूले विभिन्न किसिमका धेरै कष्टको अनुभव गर्न जरुरी भए तापनि तिमीहरू यसमा रमाउँछौ ।
On account of this, be exceeding glad, though now, for a little while, (since it is needful, ) you are made sorry by divers trials;
7 तिमीहरूको विश्वास जाँचियोस् भनेर यो भएको हो, जुन विश्वास आगोमा नष्ट भएर जाने सुनभन्दा धेरै बहुमूल्य छ । येशू ख्रीष्ट प्रकट हुनुहुँदा तिमीहरूको विश्वास स्थापित भएर यसले प्रशंसा, महिमा र आदर उत्पन्न गरोस् भनेर यसो भएको हो ।
that the trying of your faith, (much more precious than of gold, which perishes, though proved by fire, ) may be found to praise, and honor, and glory, at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
8 तिमीहरूले उहाँलाई देखेका छैनौ, तर तिमीहरू उहाँलाई प्रेम गर्छौ । तिमीहरू अहिले उहाँलाई देख्दैनौ, तर तिमीहरू उहाँमा विश्वास गर्छौ र व्यक्त गर्न नसकिने महिमाले भरिपूर्ण आनन्दमा तिमीहरू धेरै खुसी छौ ।
whom, not having seen, you love; on whom, not now looking, but believing, you greatly rejoice, with joy unspeakable and full of glory--
9 अहिले तिमीहरूले आफ्नै निम्ति तिमीहरूको विश्वासको प्रतिफल पाइरहेका छौ, जुनचाहिँ तिमीहरूका प्राणको मुक्ति हो ।
receiving the consummation of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 अगमवक्ताहरूले तिमीहरूका निम्ति हुन आउने अनुग्रहको विषयमा यही मुक्तिको विषयमा ध्यानसित खोजतलास गरेका थिए ।
Concerning which salvation, the prophets inquired accurately, and searched diligently, who have prophesied concerning the favor bestowed on you;
11 तिनीहरूले कस्तो प्रकारको मुक्ति आउँदै छ भनी खोजी गरे । तिनीहरूमा हुनुभएका ख्रीष्टका आत्माले कुन समयको विषयमा बोलिरहनुभएको छ भन्ने कुराको पनि तिनीहरूले खोजी गरे । यो कार्य त्यति बेला भइरहेको थियो जति बेला उहाँले अगाडिबाट नै तिनीहरूलाई येशू ख्रीष्टका कष्टहरू र त्यसपछि आउने महिमाको बारेमा बताउँदै हुनुहुन्थ्यो ।
searching diligently of what things, and what kind of time, the Spirit of Christ, who was in them, did signify, when he testified before the sufferings of Christ, and the glories following these--
12 यो अगमवक्तालाई प्रकट गरिएको थियो जुन तिनीहरूले यी कुराहरूको सेवा गरिरहेका थिए, तिनीहरू आफ्नै लागि होइन तर तिमीहरूका लागि । यी कुरा स्वर्गबाट पठाइनुभएका पवित्र आत्माबाट तिमीहरूलाई प्रचार भएको सुसमाचार ल्याउनेहरूद्वारा तिमीहरूलाई सुनाइएको छ । यी कुराहरू प्रकट होऊन् भनेर स्वर्गदूतहरू पनि इच्छा गर्छन् ।
to whom it was revealed, that, not for themselves, but for us, they ministered these things; which have now been reported to you, by them who have declared the glad tidings to you, with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven: into which things, angels earnestly desire to look attentively.
13 त्यसकारण, तिमीहरूका मनलाई बाँध । आफ्नो सोचाइमा संयमी होओ । येशू ख्रीष्ट तिमीहरूकहाँ प्रकट हुनुहुँदा तिमीहरूकहाँ ल्याइने अनुग्रहमा पूर्ण आशा राख ।
Wherefore, having the loins of your mind girded, being vigilant, constantly hope for the gift to be brought to you, at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
14 आज्ञाकारी छोराछोरीहरू भएकाले तिमीहरूसँग अन्जान हुँदा तिमीहरूले पछ्याएका इच्छाहरूमा नचल ।
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts, in your ignorance;
15 तर तिमीहरूलाई बोलाउनुहुने जस्तो पवित्र हुनुहुन्छ, तिमीहरू पनि आ-आफ्ना जीवनका सबै व्यवहारमा पवित्र होओ ।
but as he who has called you is holy, be you also holy;
16 किनकि यस्तो लेखिएको छ, “तिमीहरू पवित्र होओ किनकि म पवित्र छु ।”
for it is written, "Be you holy, because I am holy."
17 जसले प्रत्येक व्यक्तिलाई उसको कामअनुसार भेदभाव नगरी न्याय गर्नुहुनेलाई तिमीहरू “पिता” भन्छौ भने, आफ्नो यात्राको समय आदरमा बिताओ ।
And seeing you call on the Father, who, without respect of persons, judges according to every man's work--pass the time of your sojourning here, in fear;
18 तिमीहरूलाई थाहा छ, कि तिमीहरूले तिमीहरूका सांसारिक पिताहरूबाट सिकेका मूर्ख बानीहरूबाट नष्ट भएर जाने चाँदी वा सुनबाट छुटकारा पाएका होइनौ ।
knowing that, not with corruptible things, as silver and gold, you were redeemed from your foolish behavior, delivered to you by your fathers;
19 तर तिमीहरूले येशू ख्रीष्टको आदरयोग्य रगतद्वारा छुटकारा पाएका छौ, जो दोषरहित र दागरहित थुमा हुनुहुन्छ ।
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish, and without spot;
20 येशू संसारको जग बसालिनुभन्दा पहिले नै छानिनुभएको थियो, तर यी अन्तिम समयहरूमा उहाँ तिमीहरूका निम्ति प्रकट हुनुभएको छ ।
predetermined, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times for you;
21 तिमीहरू उहाँद्वारा परमेश्वरमा विश्वास गर्छौ, जसलाई तिमीहरूका विश्वास र आशा परमेश्वरमा रहून् भनेर परमेश्वरले मृतकहरूबाट पुनर्जीवित पार्नुभयो र उहाँलाई महिमा दिनुभयो ।
who through him, believe in God, who raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 सत्यताको आज्ञाकारिताद्वारा निष्कपट भातृ-प्रेमको निम्ति तिमीहरूले आफ्नो प्राण शुद्ध बनायौ । त्यसैले, आफ्नो हृदयबाट एक-अर्कालाई प्रेम गर ।
Wherefore, having purified your souls by obeying the truth, through the Spirit, to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another, from a pure heart, fervently:
23 तिमीहरू नयाँ गरी जन्मेका छौ, त्यो नाशवान् वीर्यबाट होइन, तर जीवित र रहिरहने परमेश्वरको वचनको अविनाशी वीर्यबाट । (aiōn g165)
having been regenerated, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of the living God, which remains. (aiōn g165)
24 किनकि “सबै देह घाँसजस्तै हुन् र तिनका सबै महिमा घाँसका फुलजस्तै हुन् । घाँस सुक्छ र फुल ओइलाउँछ ।”
"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower of it falls down; but the word of the Lord remains forever."
