१ राजाहरू 5
1 टुरोसका राजा हीरामले सोलोमनकहाँ आफ्ना सेवकहरू पठाए किनकि आफ्नो पिताको सट्टामा सोलोमन राजा अभिषेक गरिएका थिए भनी तिनले सुनेका थिए । हीरामले दाऊदलाई सधैँ माया गर्थे ।
And Hiram the king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father; for Hiram had all the time been a lover of David.
2 सोलोमनले यसो भन्दै हीरामलाई वचन पठाए,
And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3 “मेरा पिता दाऊद युद्धले घेरिएकाले परमप्रभु उहाँका परमेश्वरको नाउँमा उहाँले मन्दिर बनाउन सक्नुभएन भनी तपाईंलाई थाहै छ । उहाँको जीवनभर परमप्रभुले उहाँका शत्रुहरूलाई उहाँको खुट्टाको पैतालामुनि ल्याउनुभयो ।
Thou well knowest of David my father, that he was not able to build a house unto the name of the Lord his God, on account of the war wherewith his enemies encompassed him, until the Lord had put them under the soles of his feet.
4 तर अहिले परमप्रभु मेरा परमेश्वरले मलाई हरेक क्षेत्रमा विश्राम दिनुभएको छ ।
But now hath the Lord my God given me rest on every side, there is neither adversary nor evil hinderance.
5 त्यसैले परमप्रभु मेरा परमेश्वरको नाउँमा एउटा मन्दिर बनाउने मेरो इच्छा छ जस्तो परमप्रभुले मेरा पिता दाऊदलाई यसो भन्नुभएको थियो, 'म तेरो छोरोलाई तेरो सिंहासनमा बसाउने छु, र त्यसले नै मेरो नाउँमा मन्दिर बनाउने छ ।'
And, behold, I purpose to build a house unto the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord hath spoken unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will place in thy room upon thy throne, he it is that shall build the house unto my name.
6 त्यसकारण, अब तिनीहरूलाई मेरो निम्ति देवदारुका रुखहरू काट्न आज्ञा दिनुहोस् । मेरा दासहरू तपाईंका दासहरूसित मिल्ने छन्, र तपाईंले तोक्नुभएको ज्याला म तिनीहरूलाई दिने छु । किनकि तपाईंलाई थाहा छ, कि सीदोनीहरूजस्तै रुख ढाल्ने सिपालु मानिसहरू हाम्रा बिचमा कोही छैन ।”
And now command thou that they hew me cedar-trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants; and the wages of thy servants will I give unto thee in accordance with all that thou wilt say; for thou well knowest that there is not among us a man that hath the skill to hew timber like unto the Zidonians.
7 हीरामले सोलोमनको कुरा सुनेपछि तिनी अत्यन्तै खुसी भए र भने, “आज परमप्रभु धन्यका होऊन् जसले दाऊदलाई आफ्ना जातिको रेखदेख गर्न एउटा बुद्धिमान् छोरा दिनुभएको छ ।
And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly; and he said, Blessed be the Lord this day, who hath given unto David a wise son over this numerous people.
8 हीरामले सोलोमनलाई यस्तो वचन पठाए, “तपाईंले मलाई पठाउनुभएको सन्देश मैले सुनेको छु । म तपाईंले चाहना गर्नुभएका सबै देवदारु र सल्लाका काठ जुटाइदिने छु ।
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard what thou hast sent to me for: I will gladly execute all thy desire in respect of timber of cedar, and in respect of timber of fir.
9 मेरा दासहरूले लेबनानबाट समुद्रसम्म मूढाहरू ल्याउने छन्, र ती बाँधेर तपाईंले तोक्नुभएको ठाउँमा म बगाएर पठाउन लगाउने छु । म त्यहाँ खोल्न लगाउने छु, र तपाईंले ती लैजान सक्नुहुने छ । मेरो घरानालाई भोजन जुटाइदिएर तपाईंले चाहनुभएको कुरा पुरा गर्नुहोस् ।”
My servants shall bring them down from the Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place of which thou wilt send me word, and I will cause them to be taken apart there, and thou shalt take them away; and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving the food for my household.
10 त्यसैले सोलोमनले चाहेका सबै देवदारु र सल्लाका मूढा हीरामले तिनलाई दिए ।
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar-trees and fir-trees, all his desire.
11 सोलोमनले हीरामको घरानालाई भोजनको निम्ति पचास हजार मुरी गहुँ र साढे चार हजार लिटर शुद्ध तेल दिए । सोलोमनले यो वर्षैपिच्छे हीरामलाई दिन्थे ।
And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand kors of wheat as provision for his household, and twenty kors of beaten oil: thus did Solomon give to Hiram year by year.
12 आफूले प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएझैँ परमप्रभुले सोलोमनलाई बुद्धि दिनुभयो । सोलोमन र हीरामको बिचमा शान्ति कायम थियो, र तिनीहरू दुई जनाले एउटा करार बाँधे ।
And the Lord gave wisdom unto Solomon, as he had spoken to him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they made a covenant with each other.
13 सोलोमन राजाले सारा इस्राएलबाट तिस हजार बेगार काम गर्ने मानिस जम्मा गरे ।
And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 तिनले तिनीहरूलाई हरेक महिना दस-दस हजार गरी लेबनानमा पठाए । तिनीहरू एक महिना लेबनानमा बस्थे र दुई महिना घरमा बस्थे । अदोनिराम बेगार काम गर्नेहरूका जिम्मावाल थिए ।
And he sent them into the Lebanon, ten thousand in each month by turns; one month they used to be in the Lebanon, two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.
15 सोलोमनका सत्तरी हजरा भरिया र पहाडमा असी हजार ढुङ्गा काट्ने मानिस थिए ।
And there belonged to Solomon seventy thousand bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand stone-cutters in the mountains;
16 मजदुरहरूका कामको रेखदेख गर्न खटिएका तिन हजार तिन सय नाइके थिए ।
Besides the chiefs who were appointed by Solomon over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who ruled over the people that wrought on the work.
17 राजाको आज्ञामा तिनीहरूले मन्दिरको जगको निम्ति उच्च गुणस्तरका ठुला-ठुला ढुङ्गाहरू फोरेर निकाले ।
And when the king commanded, they quarried out great stones, heavy stones, to lay the foundation of the house, and hewn stones.
18 त्यसैले सोलोमन र हीरामका कारीगरहरूसाथै गेबालका मानिसहरूले मन्दिर निर्माणको निम्ति काठ र ढुङ्गाहरू काटेर तयार पारे ।
And the builders of Solomon, and the builders of Hiram, and the Giblites hewed them; and so they prepared the wood and the stones to build the house.
