१ राजाहरू 19
1 एलियाले गरेका सबै काम र कसरी तिनले सबै अगमवक्तालाई तरवारले मारे भनी आहाबले ईजेबेललाई बताए ।
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
2 तब ईजेबेलले एलियाकहाँ यसो भनेर एक जना सन्देशवाहक पठाए, “तैँले जसरी ती अगमवक्ताहरूको प्राण लिइस्, त्यसरी नै भोलि यसै बेलासम्म मैले तेरो प्राण लिइनँ भने देवताहरूले मलाई पनि त्यसै गरून् वा सोभन्दा बेसी गरून् ।”
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life like the life of one of those dead prophets by tomorrow about this time.”
3 जब एलियाले यो कुरा सुने तिनी उठेर आफ्नो जीवन बचाउन भागे, र यहूदाको बेर्शेबामा आए, तर आफ्नो नोकरलाई चाहिँ त्यहीँ छाडे ।
When Elijah heard that, he arose and fled for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 तर तिनी आफैचाहिँ एक दिनको यात्रा गरेर उजाड-स्थानमा गए, र अम्रिसको एउटा झाडीमा आए । आफू मरोस् भनी तिनले बिन्ती गर, “हे परमप्रभु, अब अति भयो । मेरो प्राण लिनुहोस् किनकि म मेरा पित्रहरूभन्दा असल छैनँ ।”
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. He requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough, now, Yahweh; take away my life, for I am no better than my dead ancestors.”
5 त्यसैले तिनी पल्टे, र अम्रिसको झाडीमुनि सुते । अकस्मात् एउटा स्वर्गदूतले तिनलाई छोएर भने, “उठेर खाऊ ।”
So he lay down and slept under a broom tree. Suddenly an angel touched him and said to him, “Get up and eat.”
6 एलियाले हेरे, र आफ्नो शिरनेर कोइलामा पोलेर तयार पारिएको रोटी र एक सुरही पानी देखे । त्यसैले तिनले खाए, र पिए अनि फेरि पल्टे ।
Elijah looked, and near his head was bread that had been baked on coals and a jug of water. So he ate and drank and then lay down again.
7 परमप्रभुका दूत दोस्रो पटक पनि आए र तिनलाई छोएर भने, “उठेर खाऊ किनकि तिम्रो लागि यात्रा निकै लामो छ ।”
The angel of Yahweh came again a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, because the journey will be too much for you.”
8 त्यसैले तिनी उठेर खाए, र पिए अनि त्यस खानाको शक्ति पाएर चालिस दिन यात्रा गरेर परमेश्वरको पर्वत होरेबसम्मै आए ।
So he arose and ate and drank, and he traveled in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.
9 त्यहाँ तिनी एउटा गुफामा गए, र त्यहीँ नै बसे । तब परमप्रभुको वचन तिनीकहाँ आयो, “ए एलिया, तँ यहाँ के गर्दै छस्?”
He went to a cave there and stayed in it. Then the word of Yahweh came to him and said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 एलियाले जवाफ दिए, “सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको निम्ति म साह्रै जोसिलो भएको छु, किनकि इस्राएलीहरूले तपाईंको करार उल्लङ्घन गरेका छन्, तपाईंका वेदीहरू भत्काइदिएका छन्, र तपाईंका अगमवक्ताहरूलाई तरवारले मारेका छन् । अब म एकलै छाडिएको छु, र तिनीहरूले मेरो प्राण लिन खोज्दै छन् ।”
Elijah replied, “I have been very zealous for Yahweh, God of hosts, for the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, destroyed your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. Now I, only I, am left and they are also trying to take my life.”
11 परमप्रभुले जवाफ दिनुभयो, “निस्केर जा, अनि पर्वतमा मेरो सामु खडा हो ।” तब परमप्रभु त्यहाँबाट भएर जानुभयो, र प्रचण्ड बतासले पर्वतलाई प्रहार गर्यो अनि परमप्रभुको सामु चट्टानहरू टुक्राटुक्रा भए, तर परमप्रभु बतासमा हुनुहुन्थेन । बतासपछि एउटा भूकम्प गयो, तर परमप्रभु भूकम्पमा पनि हुनुहुन्थेन ।
Yahweh replied, “Go out and stand on the mountain before me.” Then Yahweh passed by, and a very strong wind struck the mountains and broke rocks into pieces before Yahweh, but Yahweh was not in the wind. Then after the wind, an earthquake came, but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.
12 भूकम्पपछि एउटा आगो आयो, तर परमप्रभु आगोमा पनि हुनुहुन्थेन । आगोपछि एउटा सानो आवाज आयो ।
Then after the earthquake a fire came, but Yahweh was not in the fire. Then after the fire, a still small voice came.
13 जब एलियाले त्यो आवाज सुने तब तिनले खास्टोमा आफ्नो मुहार लुकाए, र बाहिर निस्केर गुफाको मुखमा उभिए । तब एउटा आवाज आयो जसले तिनलाई भन्यो, “ए एलिया, तँ यहाँ के गर्दै छस्?”
When Elijah heard the voice, he wrapped his face in his cloak, went out, and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then a voice came to him that said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 एलियाले जवाफ दिए, “सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको निम्ति म साह्रै जोसिलो भएको छु, किनकि इस्राएलीहरूले तपाईंको करार उल्लङ्घन गरेका छन्, तपाईंका वेदीहरू भत्काइदिएका छन्, र तपाईंका अगमवक्ताहरूलाई तरवारले मारेका छन् । अब म एकलै छाडिएको छु, र तिनीहरूले मेरो प्राण लिन खोज्दै छन् ।”
Elijah replied, “I have been very zealous for Yahweh, God of hosts, because the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, destroyed your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. Now I, only I, am left and they are also trying to take my life.”
15 तब परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “फर्केर दमस्कसको उजाड-स्थानको बाटोमा जा, र तँ त्यहाँ आइपुगेपछि हजाएललाई अरामका राजाको रूपमा अभिषेक गर् ।
Then Yahweh said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus, and when you arrive you will anoint Hazael to be king over Aram,
16 तैँले निम्शीका छोरा येहूलाई इस्राएलको राजाको रूपमा नियुक्त गर्नू, र तेरो ठाउँमा हाबिल-महोलाको शाफातका छोरा एलीशालाई अगमवक्ताको रूपमा अभिषेक गर्नू ।
and you will anoint Jehu son of Nimshi to be king over Israel, and you will anoint Elisha son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.
17 हजाएलको तरवारबाट उम्कने जोसुकैलाई येहूले मार्ने छन्, र येहूको तरवारबाट उम्कने जोसुकैलाई एलीशाले मार्ने छन् ।
It will happen that Jehu will kill whoever escapes from the sword of Hazael, and that Elisha will kill whoever escapes from the sword of Jehu.
18 तर म इस्राएलमा सात हजार मानिसलाई बचाइराख्ने छु, जसले बालको सामु घुँडा टेकेका छैनन्, र जसका मुखले त्यसलाई चुम्बन गरेका छैनन् ।”
But I will leave for myself seven thousand people in Israel, whose knees have not bent down to Baal, and whose mouths have not kissed him.”
19 त्यसैले एलिया त्यहाँबाट प्रस्थान गरे, र तिनले शाफातका छोरा एलीशालाई फेला पारे । तिनले बाह्र हल गोरुले खेत जोतिरहेका थिए । त्यस बेला तिनले बाह्रौँ हललाई जोतिरहेका थिए । एलिया एलीशाकहाँ आए, र तिनलाई आफ्नो खास्टो ओढाइदिए ।
So Elijah left from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he himself was plowing with the twelfth yoke. Elijah walked over to Elisha and draped his cloak on him.
20 त्यसपछि एलीशाले ती गोरुहरू छाडेर एलियाको पछि लागे । तिनले भने, “मलाई मेरा पिता र मेरी आमालाई चुम्बन गर्न दिनुहोस्, र त्यसपछि म तपाईंको पछि लाग्ने छु ।” तब एलियाले भने, “फर्केर जाऊ, तर मैले तिमीलाई भनेको कुराको बारेमा सोचविचार गर ।”
Then Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah; he said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” Then Elijah said to him, “Go back, but think about what I have done to you.”
21 त्यसैले एलीशा एलियाबाट गए, र एक हल गोरु लिए । तिनले हलोका काठहरू जलाएर मासु पकाए । तिनले त्यो मानिसहरूलाई दिए, र तिनले पनि खाए । तब तिनी उठेर एलियाको पछि लागे, र तिनको सेवा गरे ।
So Elisha returned from Elijah and took the yoke of oxen, killed the animals, and cooked the meat with the wood from the ox yoke. Then he gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose, went after Elijah and served him.
