१ राजाहरू 14

1 त्यस बेला यारोबामको छोरो अबिया अत्यन्तै बिरामी पर्‍यो ।

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

2 यारोबामले आफ्नी पत्नीलाई भने, “उठ र तिमी मेरी पत्नी हौ भनी नचिन्नलाई आफ्नो भेष बदली गर । अनि शीलोमा जाऊ किनकि अहियाह अगमवक्ता त्यहीँ छन् । यी मानिसहरूमाथि म नै राजा हुनेथिएँ भनी मेरो बारेमा बताउने तिनी नै थिए ।

Jeroboam said to his wife, "Please get up and disguise yourself, that you won't be recognized as the wife of Jeroboam. Go to Shiloh. Look, there is Ahijah the prophet, who spoke concerning me that I should be king over this people.

3 आफ्नो साथमा दसवटा रोटी, केही फुरौला र एक भाँडो मह लिएर अहियाहकहाँ जाऊ । बालकलाई के हुने छ भनी तिनले तिमीलाई बताउने छन् ।”

Take with you ten loaves, and cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what will become of the child."

4 यारोबामकी पत्नीले त्यसै गरिन् । उनी बाटो लागिन् र शीलोमा गइन्, र अहियाहको घरमा आइन् । अहियाहले देख्न सक्दैनथे । तिनको वृद्धावस्थाको कारणले तिनले आफ्ना आँखाको ज्योति गुमाएका थिए ।

Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.

5 परमप्रभुले अहियाहलाई भन्नुभयो, “हेर्, यारोबामकी पत्नी आफ्नो छोरोको बारेमा तँबाट सल्लाह लिन आउँदै छे किनकि त्यसको छोरो बिरामी परेको छ । तैँले यस्तो-यस्तो जवाफ दिनू किनकि त्यो अर्कै स्त्री भएझैँ त्यसले नाटक गर्छे ।”

Jehovah said to Ahijah, "Look, the wife of Jeroboam comes to inquire of you concerning her son; for he is sick. Thus and thus you shall tell her; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman."

6 उनी ढोकामा आइपुग्दा अहियाहले उनको खुट्टाको आवाज सुने, र भने, “हे यारोबामकी पत्नी, भित्र आऊ । किन तिमी अर्कै स्त्री भएझैँ नाटक गर्छ्यौ? म खराब समाचारसहित तिमीकहाँ पठाइएको छु ।

It was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, "Come in, you wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another? For I am sent to you with heavy news.

7 गएर यारोबामलाई भन कि इस्राएलका परमेश्वर परमप्रभु भन्नुहुन्छ, 'मैले तँलाई मेरो जाति इस्राएलमाथि अगुवा हुनलाई मानिसहरूका बिचबाट उठाएँ ।

Go, tell Jeroboam, 'Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel: "Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you prince over my people Israel,

8 मेरो दृष्टिमा जे ठिक छ त्यही गर्न अनि मेरा आज्ञाहरू पालन गर्न र सारा ह्रदयले मेरो पछि लाग्ने मेरा दास दाऊदजस्तै तँ नभए तापनि मैले दाऊदको घरानाबाट राज्य टुक्र्याई त्यो तँलाई दिएँ ।

and tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it you; and yet you have not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in my eyes,

9 तर तैँले तँभन्दा अगिका सबैले भन्दा दुष्ट काम गरेको छस् । तैँले अरू देवताका मूर्तिहरू र ढालेर बनाएका धातुका प्रतिमूर्तिहरू बनाएर मलाई रिस उठाएको छस्, र मलाई तेरो पीठपछि राखेको छस् ।

but have done evil above all who were before you, and have gone and made you other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:

10 त्यसकारण हेर्, म तेरो परिवारमा विपत्ति ल्याउने छु । चाहे कमारा होस् या फुक्का, म इस्राएलको हरेक पुरुष बालकलाई खतम पारिदिने छु, र तेरो घरानालाई गोबर जलाएझैँ पूर्ण रूपमा हटाइदिने छु ।

therefore, look, I will bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam everyone who urinates on a wall, he who is shut up and he who is left at large in Israel, and will utterly sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweeps away dung, until it is all gone.

11 तेरो घरानाको हरेक व्यक्ति जो यस सहरमा मर्छ, त्यसलाई कुकुरहरूले खाने छन्, अनि खेतमा मर्ने जोसुकैलाई आकाशका चराचुरुङ्गीहरूले खाने छन् किनकि म परमप्रभुले यसो भनेको छु ।'

He who dies of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and he who dies in the field shall the birds of the sky eat: for Jehovah has spoken it."'

12 त्यसैले हे यारोबामकी पत्नी, उठेर आफ्नो घर फर्केर जाऊ । तिमी सहरमा प्रवेश गर्दा तिम्रो बालक अबिया मर्ने छ ।

Arise therefore, and go to your house. When your feet enter into the city, the child shall die.

13 सारा इस्राएलले त्यसको निम्ति शोक गर्ने छन् र त्यसलाई गाड्ने छन् । यारोबामको परिवारबाट चिहानमा जाने त्यही मात्र हुने छ किनकि यारोबामको घरबाट त्यसले मात्र इस्राएलका परमेश्वर परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा निगाह पायो ।

All Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

14 साथै, त्यस दिन परमप्रभुले इस्राएलबाट एक जना राजा उठाउनुहुने छ जसले यारोबामको परिवारलाई खतम पारिदिने छ । आज नै त्यही दिन हो ।

Moreover Jehovah will raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam. This is day. What? Even now.

15 किनकि पानीमा निगालो हल्लिएझैँ परमप्रभुले इस्राएललाई हल्लाउनुहुने छ, र उहाँले तिनीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूलाई दिनुभएको यस असल देशबाट जरैदेखि उखेलिदिनुहुने छ । उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई यूफ्रेटिस नदीभन्दा पारि तितर-बितर पारिदिनुहुने छ किनकि तिनीहरूले अशेराका खम्बाहरू बनाई परमप्रभुलाई रिस उठाएका छन् ।

For Jehovah will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking Jehovah to anger.

16 यारोबामले पाप गरेका कारण र तिनले इस्राएललाई पाप गर्न लगाएकाले उहाँले इस्राएललाई त्यागिदिनुहुने छ ।”

He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Israel to sin."

17 त्यसैले यारोबामकी पत्नी उठिन् र बाटो लागिन् अनि तिर्सामा आइन् । उनले आफ्नो घरको सँघार टेक्दा बालक मर्‍यो ।

Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah. As she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.

18 सारा इस्राएलले त्यसलाई गाडे, र त्यसको निम्ति शोक गरे जस्तो परमप्रभुले आफ्ना दास अहियाह अगमवक्ताद्वारा भन्नुभएको थियो ।

All Israel buried him, and mourned for him, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet.

19 यारोबामका अन्य कामहरूको बारेमा अर्थात् कसरी तिनले युद्ध गरे र शासन गरे भन्ने विषयमा इस्राएलका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छन् ।

The rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

20 यारोबामले बाइस वर्ष शासन गरे, र त्यसपछि तिनी आफ्ना पित्रहरूसित सुत्न गए, अनि तिनको ठाउँमा तिनका छोरा नादाब राजा भए ।

The days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.

21 सोलोमनका छोरा रहबामले यहूदामा शासन गर्दै थिए । रहबाम राजा हुँदा तिनी एकचालिस वर्षका थिए । तिनले परमप्रभुले आफ्नो नाउँ राख्न इस्राएलका सबै कुलबाट चुन्नुभएको सहर यरूशलेममा सत्र वर्ष शासन गरे । तिनकी आमाको नाउँ नामा थियो जो एक अम्मोनी स्त्री थिइन् ।

Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Jehovah had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

22 यहूदाले परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा जे खराब छ त्यही गरे । तिनीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूले गरेका पापभन्दा बढी पाप गरेर तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई डाही तुल्याए ।

Judah did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done.

23 किनकि तिनीहरूले पनि आफ्ना लागि प्रत्येक उच्च स्थान र हरियो रुखमुनि डाँडाका ठाउँहरू, ढुङ्गाका मूर्तिहरू र अशेराका खम्बाहरू बनाए ।

For they also built them high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree;

24 त्यस देशमा झुटा धर्मसम्बन्धी वेश्याहरू पनि थिए । परमप्रभुले इस्राएलीहरूकै सामुबाट धपाउनुभएका जातिहरूले अभ्यास गरेका घिनलाग्दा कार्यहरू नै तिनीहरूले गरे ।

and there were also male shrine prostitutes in the land: they did according to all the abominations of the nations which Jehovah drove out before the children of Israel.

25 राजा रहबामको शासनकालको पाँचौँ वर्षमा मिश्रका राजा शीशकले यरूशलेमको विरुद्धमा आक्रमण गरे ।

It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem;

26 तिनले परमप्रभुको मन्दिर र राजको महलका खजानाहरू लिएर गए । तिनले हरेक कुरो लिएर गए । तिनले सोलोमनले बनाएका सुनका ढालहरू पनि लिएर गए ।

and he took away the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

27 राजा रहबामले तिनको सट्टामा काँसाका ढालहरू बनाए, र राजाको महलको ढोकाहरूको रक्षा गर्ने रक्षकहरूका हातमा जिम्मा दिए ।

King Rehoboam made in their place shields of bronze, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.

28 राजा परमप्रभुको मन्दिरमा प्रवेश गर्दा ती रक्षकहरूले ती ढालहरू बोक्थे । त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले ती रक्षक कोठामा ल्याएर राख्ने गर्थे ।

It was so, that as often as the king went into the house of Jehovah, the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.

29 रहबामले गरेका अरू सबै कामहरूको बारेमा के यहूदाका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा लेखिएका छैनन् र?

Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

30 रहबाम र यारोबामको बिचमा युद्ध चलिरह्‍यो ।

There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

31 यसरी रहबाम आफ्ना पित्रहरूसित सुत्न गए, र तिनीहरूसँगै दाऊदको सहरमा गाडिए । तिनकी आमाको नाउँ नामा थियो जो अम्मोनी स्त्री थिइन् । तिनको ठाउँमा तिनका छोरा अबिया राजा भए ।

Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David: and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess. Abijam his son reigned in his place.
