1 आदम, शेत, एनोश,
[The first person God created was Adam]. Adam’s [son was] Seth. [Seth’s son was] Enosh. [Enosh’s son was] Kenan.
2 केनान, महलालेल, येरेद,
[Kenan’s son was] Mahalalel. [Mahalalel’s son was] Jared. [Jared’s son was] Enoch.
3 हनोक, मतूशेलह, लेमेक ।
[Enoch’s son was] Methuselah. [Methusalah’s son was] Lamech. [Lamech’s son was] Noah.
4 नोआका छोराहरू शेम, हाम र येपेत थिए ।
[Noah’s sons were] Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
5 येपेतका छोराहरू गोमेर, मागोग, मादे, यावान, तूबल, मेशेक र तीरास थिए ।
The sons (OR, descendants) of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
6 गोमेरका छोराहरू अशकनज, रीपत र तोगर्मा थिए ।
The sons (OR, descendants) of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
7 यावानका छोराहरू एलीशाह, तर्शीश, कित्तीम र रोदानीम थिए ।
The descendants of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
8 हामका छोराहरू कूश, मिश्रइम, पूत र कनान थिए ।
The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim (OR, Egypt), Put, and Canaan.
9 कूशका छोराहरू सेबा, हवीला, सब्त, रामाह र सब्तका थिए । रामाका छोराहरू शेबा र ददान थिए ।
The descendants of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons (OR, descendants) of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
10 कूशचाहिं निम्रोदका पिता बने, जो पृथ्वीका पहिलो विजेता थिए ।
Another descendant of Cush was Nimrod. When he grew up, he became a mighty warrior on the earth.
11 मिश्रइमचाहिं लूदीहरू, अनामीहरू, लहाबीहरू र नप्तूहीहरू,
Mizraim (OR, Egypt) was the ancestor of the Lud people-group, the Anam people-group, the Lehab people-group, the Naphtuh people-group,
12 पत्रुसीहरू, कस्लूहीहरू (जसबाट पलिश्तीहरू आए) र कप्तोरीहरूका पुर्खा बने ।
the Pathrus people-group, the Casluh people-group, and the Caphtor people-group. The people of [the] Philistia [region] were descended from the Casluh people-group.
13 कनानचाहिं तिनका जेठा छोरा सीदोन र हित्तीहरूका पिता बने ।
Canaan’s first son was Sidon. He was also the ancestor of the Heth people-group,
14 तिनी यबूसीहरू, एमोरीहरू, गिर्गाशीहरू,
the Jebus people-group, the Amor people-group, the Girgash people-group,
15 हिव्वीहरू, अरकीहरू, सिनीहरू,
the Hiv people-group, the Ark people-group, the Sin people-group,
16 अर्वादीहरू, समारीहरू र हमातीहरूका पनि पुर्खा बने ।
the Arvad people-group, the Zemar people-group, and the Hamath people-group.
17 शेमका छोराहरू एलाम, अश्शूर, अर्पक्षद, लूद र अराम थिए । अरामका छोराहरू ऊज, हुल, गेतेर र मेशेक थिए ।
The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. Aram’s sons were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.
18 अर्पक्षद शेलहका पिता थिए र शेलह एबेरका पिता थिए ।
Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, who was the father of Eber.
19 एबेरका दुई जना छोराहरू थिए । एउटाको नाउँ पेलेग थियो, किनभने तिनको समयमा पृथ्वीलाई विभाजन गरिएको थियो । तिनका भाइको नाउँ योक्तान थियो ।
Eber had two sons. One was named Peleg [which sounds like the word that means ‘divided’] because during the time that he lived, [the people on] the earth were divided [into various language groups]. Peleg’s [younger] brother was Joktan.
20 योक्तानचाहिं अल्मोदद, शेलेप, हसर्मवित, येरह,
Joktan was the ancestor of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
21 हदोरम, ऊजाल, दिक्ला,
Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
22 ओबाल, अबमाएल, शेबा,
Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
23 ओपीर, हवीला र योबाबका पिता बने । यी सबै योक्तानका सन्तति थिए ।
Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab.
24 शेम, अर्पक्षद, शेलह,
The descendants of Shem, [in order from him to Abraham], were Arphaxad, Shelah,
25 एबेर, पेलेग, रऊ,
Eber, Peleg, Reu,
26 सरूग, नाहोर, तेरह,
Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27 अब्राम जो अब्राहाम थिए ।
and Abram, whose [name was later changed to] Abraham.
28 अब्राहामका छोराहरू इसहाक र इश्माएल थिए ।
Abraham’s sons were Isaac and Ishmael.
29 तिनीहरूका सन्तान यी नै हुन्: इश्माएलका जेठा नबायोत, त्यसपछि केदार, अदबेल, मिब्साम,
[The son of Abraham’s slave wife Hagar was Ishmael.] Ishmael’s [twelve] sons were Nebaioth, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
30 मिश्मा, दुमा, मस्सा, हदद, तेमा,
Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,
31 यतूर, नापीश र केदमा । यिनीहरू इश्माएलका छोराहरू थिए ।
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
32 अब्राहामकी उपपत्नी कतूराका छोराहरू जिम्रान, योक्षान, मदान, मिद्यान, यिशबाक र शूह थिए । योक्षानका छोराहरू शेबा र ददान थिए ।
[After]’s [wife Sarah died, he took another wife named] Keturah. The sons of Abraham and Keturah were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. Jokshan’s sons were Sheba and Dedan.
33 मिद्यानका छोराहरू एपा, एपेर, हानोक, अबीदा र एल्दा थिए । यी सबै कतूराका सन्तान थिए ।
Midian’s sons were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah.
34 अब्राहाम इसहाकका पिता बने । इसहाकका छोराहरू एसाव र इस्राएल थिए ।
The son of Abraham [and his wife Sarah] was Isaac, and Isaac’s sons were Esau and [Jacob, whose name was later changed to] Israel.
35 एसावका छोराहरू एलीपज, रूएल, येऊश, यालाम र कोरह थिए ।
The sons of Esau were Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
36 एलीपजका छोराहरू तेमान, ओमार, सपो, गाताम, कनज, तिम्न र अमालेक थिए ।
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho (OR, Zephi), Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek.
37 रूएलका छोराहरू नहत, जेरह, शम्मा र मिज्जा थिए ।
Reuel’s sons were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
38 सेइरका छोराहरू: लोतान, शोबाल, सिबोन, अना, दीशोन, एसेर, र दीशान थिए ।
[Another descendant of Esau was Seir. His descendants lived in the Edom region]. Seir’s sons were Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
39 लोतानका छोराहरू होरी र हेमाम थिए, अनि लोतानकी बहिनीको नाम तीम्न थियो ।
Lotan’s sons were Hori and Homam, and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
40 शोबालका छोराहरू अल्बान, मानहत, एबाल, शपो र ओनाम थिए । सिबोनका छोराहरू अय्या र अना थियो ।
Shobal’s sons were Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. Zibeon’s sons were Aiah and Anah.
41 अनाका छोरा दीशोन थिए । दीशोनका छोराहरू हेमदान, एश्बान, यित्रान र करान थिए ।
Anah’s son was Dishon. 1 Dishon’s sons were Hemdan (OR, Hamran), Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.
42 एसेरका छोराहरू बिल्हान, जावान र अकान थिए । दीशानका छोराहरू ऊज र आरान थिए ।
Ezer’s sons were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan (OR, Jaakan). Dishan’s sons were Uz and Aran.
43 इस्राएलमा कुनै पनि राजाले राज्य गर्नुभन्दा पहिले एदोममा राज्य गर्ने राजाहरू यी नै थिएः बओरका छोरा बेला, र तिनको सहर दिन्हावा थियो ।
[These are the names of] the kings that ruled [the] Edom [region] before any kings ruled over Israel: Bela, the son of Beor, was king in Edom, and the name of the city [in which he lived] was Dinhabah.
44 बेला मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा बोज्राका जेरहका छोरा योबाब राजा भए ।
When Bela died, Jobab, the son of Zerah from Bozrah [city], became the king.
45 योबाब मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा तेमानीहरूको देशका हूशाम राजा भए ।
When Jobab died, Husham became the king. He was from the region where the Teman people-group lived.
46 हूशाम मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा बददका छोरा हदद राजा भए, जसले मोआब देशमा मिद्यानीहरूलाई पराजित गरे । तिनको सहरको नाउँ अवीत थियो ।
When Husham died, Hadad, the son of Bedad, became the king. He [ruled in] Avith city. Hadad’s [army] defeated [the army of the] Midian [people-group] in [the] Moab [region].
47 हदद मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा मास्रेकाका सम्ला राजा भए ।
When Hadad died, Samlah became the king. He was from Masrekah [town].
48 सम्ला मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा नदीको किनारमा भएको रहोबोतका शौल राजा भए ।
When Samlah died, Shaul became the king. He was from Rehoboth [city] along the [Euphrates] river.
49 शौल मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा अक्बोरका छोरा बाल-हानानले तिनको ठाउँमा राज्य गरे ।
When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan, the son of Achbor, became the king.
50 अक्बोरका छोरा बाल-हानान मरेपछि तिनको ठाउँमा हददले राज्य गरे । तिनको सहरको नाउँ पाऊ थियो । तिनकी पत्नीको नाउँ मत्रेदकी छोरी महेतबेल थियो, जो मे-जाहाबकी नातिनी थिइन् ।
When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became the king. He was from Pau city. His wife’s name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred and the granddaughter of Me-Zahab.
51 हदद मरे । एदोमका प्रधानहरूमा प्रधान तीम्न, प्रधान अल्वा, प्रधान यतेत,
Then Hadad died. The leaders of the clans of the Edom people-group were Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
52 प्रधान ओहोलीबामा, प्रधान एलाह, प्रधान पीनोन,
Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,
53 प्रधान कनज, प्रधान तेमान, प्रधान मिब्सार,
Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
54 प्रधान मग्दीएल र प्रधान ईराम थिए । एदोमका प्रधानहरू यी नै थिए ।
Magdiel, and Iram.
