1 राजा आफ्नो महलमा बसेपछि उनले नातान अगमवक्तालाई भने, “हेर्नुहोस्, म देवदारुको घरमा बस्दैछु, तर परमप्रभुको करारको सन्दूकचाहिं पालमुनि राखिएको छ ।”
And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said unto Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under curtains.
2 तब नातानले दाऊदलाई जवाफ दिए, “जानुहोस्, आफ्नो मनमा जे छ त्यो गर्नुहोस्, किनकि परमेश्वर तपाईंसँग हुनुहुन्छ ।”
And Nathan said unto David, All that is in thy heart do; for God is with thee.
3 तर त्यही रात परमेश्वरको यो वचन नातानकहाँ यसो भनेर आयो,
And it came to pass during that night, that the word of God came unto Nathan, saying,
4 “जा र मेरो दास दाऊदलाई यसो भन्, ‘परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ: तैंले मेरो लागि बस्ने घर बनाउनेछैनस् ।
Go and say unto David my servant, Thus hath said the Lord, Not thou shalt build for me the house to dwell in;
5 किनकि इस्राएललाई मिश्रदेशबाट ल्याएको दिनदेखि यता आजको दिनसम्म म कहिल्यै घरमा बसेको छैनँ । बरू, विभिन्न ठाउँमा पवित्र पालसम्म म बस्दैआएको छु ।
For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel even until this day; but have been [moving] from tent to tent, and from [one] tabernacle [to another].
6 सारा इस्राएलसँग सबै ठाउँमा म सरेको बेलामा, मेरा मानिसहरूको रेखदेख गर्नलाई मैले नियुक्त गरेका इस्राएलका कुनै अगुवालाई के मैले यसो भनें, “मेरो निम्ति देवदारुको घर किन बनाएको छैनस्?”
In all the places where I moved about among all Israel, did I speak a word to any one of the judges of Israel, whom I had ordained to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built for me a house of cedar?
7 “अब मेरो दास दाऊदलाई यसो भन्, “सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ: तँ मेरा मानिस इस्राएलको राजा हुनलाई मैले तँलाई खर्कमा भेडाहरू पछिपछि हिंड्नबाट बोलाएँ ।
Now therefore, thus shalt thou say unto my servant, to David, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, I took thee away from the sheepcote, from behind the flocks, to be a ruler over my people Israel;
8 तँ जहाँ गए पनि म तँसँगै छु र तेरो सामुबाट तेरा शत्रुहरूलाई हटाएको छु, अनि तेरो नाउँलाई म पृथ्वीमा भएका महान् व्यक्तिहरूझैं प्रसिद्ध तुल्याउनेछु ।
And I have been with thee withersoever thou didst go, and I have cut off all thy enemies from thy presence, and I have made thee a name; like the name of the great men who are on the earth;
9 म आफ्ना मानिस इस्राएलको निम्ति एउटा ठाउँ तोक्नेछु ताकि तिनीहरू आफ्नै देशमा बसून् र फेरि कष्टमा नपरून् । दुष्ट मानिसहरूले पहिले गरेझैं फेरि तिनीहरूलाई थिचोमिचो गर्नेछैनन्,
And I have procured a place for my people Israel, and I have planted them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and be no more troubled; and that the children of wickedness shall not waste them any more, as aforetimes,
10 जसरी मैले आफ्ना मानिस इस्राएलमाथि न्यायकर्ताहरू नियुक्त गरेको समयदेखि नै तिनीहरूले गर्दै आएका थिए । त्यसपछि तेरा सबै शत्रुहरूलाई म वशमा पार्नेछु । साथै म तँलाई भन्दछु, कि म परमप्रभुले तेरो निम्ति घर बनाउनेछु ।
And [as it was] since the time that I ordained judges to be over my people Israel; and I have humbled all thy enemies; and now I tell thee that the Lord will build for thee a house.
11 जब तेरो जीवन पुरा हुनेछ, र तँ तेरा पुर्खाहरूसित मिल्न जानेछस्, तब तँपछि म तेरै सन्तानलाई खडा गर्नेछु, र तेरै एक सन्तानमध्ये एक जनाको राज्यलाई म स्थापित गर्नेछु ।
And it shall come to pass, that, when thy days will be completed that thou must go [to sleep] with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, who shall be of thy sons, and I will establish his kingdom.
12 उसैले मेरो लागि एउटा मन्दिर बनाउनेछ, र उसको सिंहासन सदाको निम्ति स्थापित गर्नेछु ।
He it is that shall build for me a house, and I will establish his throne for ever.
13 म उसको पिता हुनेछु र ऊ मेरो छोरो हुनेछ । तँभन्दा पहिले राज्य गर्ने शाऊलबाट मेरो आफ्नो करारको विश्वस्तता फिर्ता लिएझैं म ऊदेखि फिर्ता लिनेछैनँ ।
I too will be to him as a father, and he shall indeed be unto me as a son: and my kindness will I not cause to depart from him, as I caused it to depart from him that was before thee;
14 उसलाई म आफ्नो मन्दिर र मेरो राज्यमाथि सधैंको निम्ति राख्नेछु, र उसको सिंहासन सदासर्वदाको निम्ति स्थापित हुनेछ ।”
But I will place him firmly in my house and in my kingdom for evermore; and his throne shall be established for ever.
15 नातानले दाऊदसँग कुरा गरे र यी सबै वचन सुनाए, र सबै दर्शनको बारेमा उनले तिनलाई बताए ।
In accordance with all these words, and in accordance with all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
16 तब दाऊद राजा भित्र गए र परमप्रभुको सामु बसे । तिनले भने, “हे परमप्रभु परमेश्वर, म को हुँ अनि मेरो घराना के हो, र तपाईंले मलाई यहाँसम्म ल्याउनुभएको छ?
Then went king David in and sat down before the Lord, and he said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me as far as hitherward?
17 किनकि हे परमेश्वर, तपाईंको दृष्टिमा यो त सानो कुरा थियो । हे परमप्रभु परमेश्वर, तपाईंले आफ्नो दासको घरानालाई भविष्यको बारेमा बोल्नुभएको छ, र मलाई भविष्यका पुस्ताहरू देखाउनुभएको छ ।
And this was [yet] too small a thing in thy eyes, O God, and thou hast spoken concerning thy servant's house for a distant time, and hast regarded me as though I belonged to the rank of a man of high degree, O Lord God.
18 म दाऊदले तपाईंलाई योभन्दा बढी के नै भन्न सक्छु र? तपाईंले आफ्नो दासलाई विशेष आदर गर्नुभएको छ ।
What can David add yet more [to speak] unto thee of the honor of thy servant? since thou knowest well thy servant.
19 हे परमप्रभु, तपाईंको दासको खातिर र तपाईंको आफ्नै उद्देश्य पुरा गर्नलाई आफ्ना सबै महान् कामहरू प्रकट होऊन् भनेर नै तपाईंले यो महान् काम गर्नुभएको छ ।
O Lord, for the sake of thy servant, and in accordance with thy own heart, hast thou done all this great thing, to make known all these great things.
20 हे परमप्रभु, तपाईंजस्तो अरू कोही छैन । हामीले सधैंभरि सुनेका छौं कि तपाईंबाहेक अरू कोही परमेश्वर छैन ।
O Lord, there is none like thee, and there is no god beside thee, in accordance with all that we have heard with our ears.
21 किनकि तपाईंका मानिस इस्राएलजस्तै यस पृथ्वीमा कुन जाति छ र, जसलाई तपाईं परमेश्वरले महान् र भयानक कार्यहरूद्वारा आफ्नो नाउँको निम्ति आफ्ना मानिस बनाउनलाई मिश्रदेशबाट छुटकारा दिनुभयो? मिश्रदेशबाट तपाईंले छुटकारा दिनुभएका आफ्ना मानिसहरूको सामुबाट तपाईंले जातिहरूलाई धपाउनुभयो ।
And who is like thy people Israel, the only nation on the earth which God went to redeem for himself as a people, to acquire for thyself a name for great and terrible deeds, by driving out nations from before thy people, which thou hadst redeemed out of Egypt?
22 तपाईंले इस्राएललाई सदाको निम्ति आफ्नो मानिसहरू बनाउनुभयो र तपाईं, हे परमप्रभु, तिनीहरूका परमेश्वर हुनुभएको छ ।
And thou hast instituted thy people Israel unto thyself as a people for ever; and thou, Lord, art indeed become their God.
23 यसैले अब हे परमप्रभु, आफ्नो दास र उसको घरानाको निम्ति तपाईंले गर्नुभएको प्रतिज्ञा सदाको लागि स्थापित होस् । तपाईंले जस्तो भन्नुभएको छ त्यस्तै गर्नुहोस् ।
And now, O Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be verified for ever, and do as thou hast spoken.
24 तपाईंको नाम सदासर्वदाको निम्ति स्थापित होस् र महान् होस्, ताकि म तपाईंको दास दाऊदको घराना तपाईंको सामु स्थापित हुँदा मानिसहरूले यसो भनून्, ‘सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु नै इस्राएलका परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ ।,’
Yea, let it be verified, and let thy name be magnified unto everlasting, that men may say, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God for Israel; and may the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
25 किनकि, हे मेरा परमेश्वर, तपाईंले आफ्नो दासको घर बनाउनु हुनेछ भनी उसलाई प्रकट गर्नुभएको छ । यसकारण तपाईंको दास, मैले तपाईंको सामु प्रार्थना चढाउने साहस गरेको छु ।
For thou, O my God, hast revealed to the ear of thy servant, that thou wilt build for him a house; therefore hath thy servant found himself able to pray before thee.
26 अब हे परमप्रभु, तपाईं नै परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ, र आफ्नो दाससित यो असल प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको छः
And now, O Lord, thou art the [true] God, and thou hast spoken concerning thy servant this goodness:
27 तपाईंको दासको घराना तपाईंको सामु सदा निरन्तर रहोस् भनी आशिष् दिने इच्छा तपाईंलाई भयो । तपाईं परमप्रभुले त्यसलाई आशिष् दिनुभएको छ, र त्यो सदाको निम्ति आशिषित हुनेछ ।”
And now hast thou been pleased to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee; for thou, O Lord, hast blessed, and [it will remain] blessed for ever.
