१ इतिहास 14
1 तब टुरोसका राजा हीरामले दाऊदकहाँ दूतहरूका साथै देवदारुका काठहरू, सिकर्मीहरू र डकर्मीहरू पठाए । तिनीहरूले तिनको निम्ति एउटा महल बनाए ।
And Churam the king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and trees of cedars, and masons and carpenters, to build him a house.
2 अब परमप्रभुले आफूलाई इस्राएलमाथि राजा तुल्याउनुभयो र उहाँको मानिस इस्राएलको खातिर आफ्नो राज्यलाई उच्च पार्नुभयो भनी दाऊदलाई थाहा भयो ।
And David felt conscious that the Lord had established him as king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, because of his people Israel.
3 यरूशलेममा दाऊदले अझै अरू पत्नीहरू ल्याए, र तिनी धेरै जना छोराहरू र छोरीहरूका बाबु भए ।
And David took yet more wives at Jerusalem; and David begat more sons and daughters.
4 यरूशलेममा जन्मेका तिनका छोराछोरीका नाउँ यी नै हुन्: शम्मूअ, शोबाब, नातान, सोलोमन,
And these are the names of the children that he had in Jerusalem: Shammua', and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5 यिभार, एलीशूअ, एल्पेलेत,
And Yibchar, and Elishua', and Elpalet,
6 नोगह, नेपेग, यापी,
And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Yaphia',
7 एलीशामा, बेलीयादा र एलीपेलेत ।
And Elishama', and Be'elyada', and Eliphalet.
8 अब दाऊद सम्पूर्ण इस्राएलमाथि राजा अभिषेक भए भनी जब पलिश्तीहरूले सुने, तब उनीहरू सबै तिनलाई खोज्न निस्के । तर दाऊदले यसको बारेमा सुने र उनीहरूको विरुद्ध निस्किए ।
But when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king over all Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them.
9 अब पलिश्तीहरूले आएका र रपाईहरूको बेसीमा आक्रमण गरेका थिए ।
And the Philistines came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.
10 तब दाऊदले परमेश्वरसँग मदत मागे । तिनले सोधे, “के म पलिश्तीहरूलाई आक्रमण गरूँ? के तपाईंले उनीहरूमाथि विजय दिनुहुन्छ?” परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “आक्रमण गर्, म उनीहरूलाई निश्चय नै तेरो हातमा सुम्पिदिनेछु ।”
And David asked counsel of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; and I will deliver them into thy hand.
11 यसैले तिनीहरू बाल-पराजीमसम्म आए, र त्यहाँ तिनले उनीहरूलाई पराजित गरे । तिनले भने, “वेगले बग्ने बाढीले किनार भत्काएझैं परमेश्वरले मेरा शत्रुहरूलाई मद्वारा भत्काउनुभयो ।” यसैले त्यस ठाउँको नाउँ बाल-पराजीम रह्यो ।
And they came up to Ba'al-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken down my enemies through my hand as a breach [is made] by water: therefore they called the name of that place Ba'al-perazim.
12 पलिश्तीहरूले आफ्ना देवताहरू त्यहीं छोडे र तिनलाई जलाउनु भन्ने हुकुम दाऊदले दिए ।
And they left behind there their gods, and David gave the order, and they were burnt with fire.
13 तब पलिश्तीहरूले फेरि पनि उक्त बेंसीमा आक्रमण गरे ।
And the Philistines [came] once again, and spread themselves out in the valley.
14 त्यसैले दाऊदले फेरि पनि परमेश्वरसँग मदत मागे । परमेश्वरले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तैंले अगाडिबाट आक्रमण गर्नुहुँदैन, तर उनीहरूको पछिल्तिर घेरा लगा र लहरे-पीपलका रूखहरू भएका ठाउँबाट उनीहरूकहाँ जा ।
And David asked again counsel of God; and God said unto him, Thou shalt not go up after them: turn about from them, and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees,
15 जब तैंले लहरे-पीपलका रूखका टुप्पाहरूमा हावा लाग्दा आउने परेडको आवाज सुन्छस्, तब फौजसहित आक्रमण गर् । यसो गर् किनभने परमेश्वर तिमीहरूका अगिअगि पलिश्तीको सेनालाई आक्रमण गर्न जानुहुनेछ ।”
And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of walking on the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God will be gone forth before thee to smite the camp of the Philistines.
16 यसैले परमेश्वरले आज्ञा गर्नुभएझैं दाऊदले गरे । तिनले पलिश्तीहरूका सेनालाई गिबोनदेखि गेजेरसम्मै पराजित गरे ।
And David did as God had commanded him; and they smote the camp of the Philistines from Gib'on as far as Gezer.
17 तब दाऊदको ख्याति हरेक देशमा फैलियो, र परमप्रभुले सबै जातिहरूमाथि तिनको डर हालिदिनुभयो ।
And the fame of David went out into all the lands; and the Lord laid the dread of him upon all the nations.
