1 Ngakho, bazalwane, ngiyalincenga ukuthi, ngezihawu zikaNkulunkulu, linikele imizimba yenu ibe ngumhlatshelo ophilileyo, ongcwele, owemukelekayo kuNkulunkulu, kube yinkonzo yenu yokuqedisisa.
I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God. This is your reasonable service.
2 Njalo lingalingisi lumhlaba, kodwa liguqulwe ngokwenziwa zibentsha ingqondo zenu, ukuze lihlolisise okuyintando kaNkulunkulu elungileyo leyemukelekayo lepheleleyo. (aiōn g165)
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Do this to know what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. (aiōn g165)
3 Ngoba ngomusa engiwuphiweyo, ngithi kuye wonke ophakathi kwenu ukuthi angacabangi ukuthi mkhulu kulalokho afanele ukukucabanga, kodwa acabange ngokuqonda, njengalokhu uNkulunkulu abele ngulowo lalowo isilinganiso sokholo.
For I say, because of the grace that was given to me, that everyone who is among you should not think more highly of themselves than they ought to think. Instead, they should think in a wise way, just as God has given out to each one a certain amount of faith.
4 Ngoba njengoba silezitho ezinengi emzimbeni munye, kodwa izitho zonke kazilamsebenzi ofananayo;
For we have many members in one body, but not all the members have the same function.
5 kunjalo thina esibanengi singumzimba munye kuKristu, njalo ngabanye siyizitho omunye komunye.
In the same way, we who are many are one body in Christ, and are individually members of each other.
6 Njalo silezipho ezehlukeneyo ngokomusa esiwuphiweyo; zingaba yikuprofetha, asiprofethe ngokwesilinganiso sokholo;
We have different gifts according to the grace that was given to us. If one's gift is prophecy, let it be done according to the proportion of his faith.
7 kumbe yikukhonza, asisebenze enkonzweni; kumbe ofundisayo, ekufundiseni;
If one's gift is service, let him serve. If one has the gift of teaching, let him teach.
8 kumbe olayayo, ekulayeni; ophanayo, kanike ngobuqotho; obusayo, ngokukhuthala; olesihawu, ngentokozo.
If one's gift is encouragement, let him encourage. If one's gift is giving, let him do it generously. If one's gift is leading, let it be done with care. If one's gift is in showing mercy, let it be done with cheerfulness.
9 Uthandokalube qotho. Yenyanyani okubi, libambelele kokulungileyo.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; hold on to that which is good.
10 Thandanani kakhulu ngothando lobuzalwane; ekuhloniphaneni phathani abanye ngcono kulani;
Concerning love of the brothers, be affectionate to one another. Concerning honor, respect one another.
11 lingabi ngamavila ekukhuthaleni; livuthe emoyeni; likhonza iNkosi;
Concerning diligence, do not be hesitant. Concerning the spirit, be eager. Concerning the Lord, serve him.
12 lithokoza ethembeni; libekezela ekuhluphekeni; liphikelela emkhulekweni;
Rejoice in certain hope, be patient in suffering, be faithful in prayer.
13 yabelani kunswelo zabangcwele; likhuthalele ukuphana kuzihambi.
Share in the needs of the saints. Find many ways to show hospitality.
14 Babusiseni abalizingelayo; busisani, lingaqalekisi.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15 Thokozani labathokozayo, likhale labakhalayo.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
16 Kalibe lenhliziyonye komunye lomunye. Lingakhumbuli ngezinto eziphakemeyo, kodwa lihlangane labathobekileyo. Lingazitshayi abahlakaniphileyo.
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not think in proud ways, but accept lowly people. Do not be wise in your own thoughts.
17 Lingaphindiseli muntu okubi ngokubi. Linakane okudumisekayo phambi kwabantu bonke.
Repay no one evil for evil. Do good things in the sight of all people.
18 Uba kungenzeka, ngokukini, hlalani ngokuthula labantu bonke.
If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all people.
19 Bathandiweyo, lingaziphindiseli, kodwa nikani ulaka indawo; ngoba kulotshiwe ukuthi: Ngeyami impindiselo, mina ngizabuyisela, kutsho iNkosi.
Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give way to the wrath of God. For it is written, “'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay,' says the Lord.”
20 Ngakho nxa isitha sakho silambile, siphe ukudla; nxa somile, sinathise; ngoba ngokwenza lokho, usibekela amalahle avuthayo phezu kwekhanda laso.
“But if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. For if you do this, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
21 Unganqotshwa ngokubi, kodwa nqoba okubi ngokuhle.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
