1 INkosi iyabusa; abantu kabathuthumele; ihlezi phakathi kwamakherubhi; umhlaba kawuzamazame.

Adonai reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

2 INkosi yinkulu eZiyoni; njalo iphakeme phezu kwezizwe zonke.

Adonai is great in Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. He is high above all the peoples.

3 Kazidumise ibizo lakho elikhulu lelesabekayo; lingcwele lona.

Let them yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your great and awesome name. He is Holy!

4 Lamandla eNkosi athanda isahlulelo; wena umisa ukuqonda; wena wenza isahlulelo lokulunga kuJakobe.

The King’s strength also 'ahav ·affectionately loves· mishpat ·justice·. You do establish equity. You execute mishpat ·justice· and righteousness in Jacob [Supplanter].

5 Phakamisani iNkosi uNkulunkulu wethu, likhonze esenabelweni sezinyawo zayo. Ingcwele yona.

Exalt Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his footstool. He is Holy!

6 UMozisi loAroni phakathi kwabapristi bayo, loSamuweli phakathi kwababiza ibizo layo, babiza iNkosi, yona yasibaphendula.

Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] were among his priests, Samuel among those who call on his name; they called on Adonai, and he answered them.

7 Yakhuluma labo iphakathi kwensika yeyezi; bagcina izifakazelo zayo lesimiso eyabanika sona.

He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.

8 Nkosi Nkulunkulu wethu, wena wabaphendula; waba nguNkulunkulu obathethelelayo, lanxa uphindisela ezenzweni zabo.

You answered them, Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.

9 Phakamisani iNkosi uNkulunkulu wethu, likhonze entabeni yayo engcwele; ngoba iNkosi uNkulunkulu wethu ingcwele.

Exalt Adonai, our God. Hawa ·Bow low, prostrate· to worship at his holy hill, for Adonai, our God, is holy!
