1 Isisekelo sayo siphezu kwentaba ezingcwele.

“By the sons of Korach; a psalm or song.” It is founded by him on holy mountains.

2 INkosi iyawathanda amasango eZiyoni kulazo zonke indawo zokuhlala zikaJakobe.

The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 Izinto ezidumileyo zikhulunywa ngawe, muzi kaNkulunkulu! (Sela)

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. (Selah)

4 Ngizaqamba iRahabi leBhabhiloni kwabangaziyo; khangela, iFilisti leTire kanye leEthiyophiya; lo wazalelwa khona.

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as those that know me; behold, here is Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: “This man was born there.”

5 LangeZiyoni kuzakuthiwa: Lo lalowayana bazalelwa kuyo. LoPhezukonke uqobo uzayiqinisa.

But of Zion will it be said, “This and that man were born in her:” and the Most High himself doth establish her.

6 INkosi izabala ekubhaleni kwayo abantu, ukuthi lo wazalelwa khona. (Sela)

The Lord will number when he writeth down nations. “This man was born there.” (Selah)

7 Labahlabeleli kanye labagidi, yonke imithombo yami ikuwe.

And the singers as well as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs [of joy] are in thee.
