Amahubo 57
1 Ngihawukela, Nkulunkulu, ngihawukela, ngoba umphefumulo wami uthembela kuwe; yebo, emthunzini wempiko zakho ngizaphephela, zize zedlule incithakalo.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in thee. Yea, in the shadow of thy wings I will take refuge until calamities be passed by.
2 Ngizakhala kuNkulunkulu oPhezukonke, kuNkulunkulu ongiphelelisela khona.
I will cry to God Most High, to God who performs for me.
3 Uzathumela esemazulwini, angisindise, ayangise ofuna ukungiginya. (Sela) UNkulunkulu uzathumela umusa wakhe leqiniso lakhe.
He will send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him who would swallow me up. (Selah) God will send forth his loving kindness and his truth.
4 Umphefumulo uphakathi kwezilwane, ngilala phakathi kwabavuthayo, amadodana abantu, omazinyo abo ayimikhonto lemitshoko, lolimi lwabo luyinkemba ebukhali.
My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Phakama ngaphezu kwamazulu, Nkulunkulu; ubukhosi bakho bube phezu komhlaba wonke.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, thy glory above all the earth.
6 Balungisele izinyathelo zami imbule; umphefumulo wami ukhotheme; bagebhe igodi phambi kwami; bawele phakathi kwalo. (Sela)
They have prepared a net for my steps. My soul is bowed down. They have dug a pit before me. They are fallen into the midst of it themselves. (Selah)
7 Inhliziyo yami iqinisiwe, Nkulunkulu, inhliziyo yami iqinisiwe. Ngizahlabelela ngihube indumiso.
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
8 Vuka, dumo lwami! Vuka, gubhu lwezintambo lechacho! Ngizavusa ukusa.
Awake up, my glory. Awake, psaltery and harp. I myself will awake right early.
9 Ngizakudumisa phakathi kwabantu, Nkosi, ngihlabelele kuwe phakathi kwezizwe.
I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to thee among the nations.
10 Ngoba umusa wakho mkhulu kuze kube semazulwini, leqiniso lakho kuze kube semayezini.
For thy loving kindness is great to the heavens, and thy truth to the skies.
11 Phakama ngaphezu kwamazulu, Nkulunkulu; ubukhosi bakho bube phezu komhlaba wonke.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, thy glory above all the earth.
