Amahubo 23

1 INkosi ingumelusi wami, kangiyikuswela.

A PSALM OF DAVID. YHWH [is] my shepherd, I do not lack,

2 Iyangilalisa emadlelweni aluhlaza; iyangiholela emanzini okuphumula.

He causes me to lie down in pastures of tender grass, He leads me by quiet waters.

3 Ibuyisa umphefumulo wami, ingiholele endleleni zokulunga ngenxa yebizo layo.

He refreshes my soul, He leads me in paths of righteousness For His Name’s sake;

4 Yebo, loba ngihamba esihotsheni sethunzi lokufa, kangiyikwesaba okubi, ngoba wena ulami; intonga yakho lodondolo lwakho, khona kuyangiduduza.

Also—when I walk in a valley of death-shade, I fear no evil, for You [are] with me, Your rod and Your staff—they comfort me.

5 Uyalungisa itafula phambi kwami ngaphambi kwezitha zami; ugcoba ikhanda lami ngamafutha, inkezo yami iyaphuphuma.

You arrange a table before me, In front of my adversaries, You have anointed my head with oil, My cup is full!

6 Isibili okuhle lesihawu kuzangilandela insuku zonke zempilo yami; njalo ngizahlala endlini yeNkosi kuze kube nininini.

Surely goodness and kindness pursue me All the days of my life, And my dwelling [is] in the house of YHWH, For [the] length of [my] days!
