1 INkosi yasikhuluma kuMozisi isithi:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:

2 Laya abantwana bakoIsrayeli uthi kubo: Lapho lingena elizweni leKhanani, leli lizakuba yilizwe elizawela kini libe yilifa, ilizwe leKhanani, ngokwemingcele yalo.

Command the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, When, ye, are coming into the land of Canaan, this is the land which shall fall unto you, as an inheritance, even the land of Canaan, by the boundaries thereof.

3 Legumbi lenu leningizimu lizakuba kusukela enkangala yeZini, enhlangothini zeEdoma. Njalo uzakuba ngumngcele wenu weningizimu kusukela ekucineni kolwandle lwetshwayi empumalanga.

Ye shall therefore have a south corner, from the desert of Zin, on the side of Edom, —so shall ye have a south boundary, from the end of the salt sea, eastward:

4 Umngcele wenu uzajika uvela eningizimu usiya emqansweni weAkirabimi, wedlulele eZini; lokuphuma kwawo kuzavela eningizimu kuye eKadeshi-Bhaneya; uzaphuma uye eHazari-Adari, wedlulele eAzimoni.

and the boundary shall go round for you from the south towards the cliffs of Akrabbim, then cross over towards Zin, and the extension thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, then shall it reach out to Hazar-addar, and cross over towards Azmon;

5 Lomngcele uzajika uvela eAzimoni uye esifuleni seGibhithe; lokuphuma kwawo kuzakuba selwandle.

then shall the boundary turn round from Azmon towards the ravine of Egypt, —and the extension thereof shall be towards the sea.

6 Mayelana lomngcele wentshonalanga, ulwandle olukhulu luzakuba ngumngcele wenu; lona luzakuba ngumngcele wenu ngentshonalanga.

And, for a west boundary, —ye shall have the great sea, even a boundary, this, shall serve you as west boundary.

7 Lalokhu kuzakuba ngumngcele wenu wenyakatho: Kusukela elwandle olukhulu lizazidwebela intaba yeHori;

And, this, shall serve you as a north boundary, —From the great sea, ye shall draw a line for you to Mount Hor:

8 kusukela entabeni yeHori lizadweba umngcele oya ekungeneni kweHamathi, lokuphuma komngcele kuye eZedadi.

From Mount Hor, ye shall draw a line to the entering in of Hamath, —and the extension of the boundary shall be towards Zedad:

9 Lomngcele uzaphuma uye eZifroni, lokuphuma kwawo kuzakuba eHazari-Enani. Lo uzakuba ngumngcele wenu wenyakatho.

then shall the boundary reach out towards Ziphron, and the extension thereof, be to Hazar-enan. This, shall serve you as a north, boundary.

10 Njalo lizazidwebela umngcele wenu wempumalanga kusukela eHazari-Enani kusiya eShefamu;

Then shall ye draw for yourselves a line, for an east boundary, —from Hazar-enan towards Shepham;

11 lomngcele uzakwehla uvela eShefamu uye eRibila empumalanga kweAyini, lomngcele wehle ufike eceleni kolwandle lweKinerethi ngempumalanga.

and the boundary shall go down from Shepham towards Riblah, on the east of Ain—then shall the boundary go down and strike on the side of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward:

12 Umngcele uzakwehlela-ke eJordani, lokuphuma kwawo kuzakuba solwandle lwetshwayi. Leli lizakuba yilizwe lenu ngemingcele yalo inhlangothi zonke.

then shall the boundary go down towards the Jordan, and the extension thereof be to the salt sea. This shall be your land by the boundaries thereof round about.

13 UMozisi waselaya abantwana bakoIsrayeli esithi: Leli yilizwe elizakudla ilifa lalo ngenkatho, iNkosi elaye ngalo ukulinika izizwe eziyisificamunwemunye lengxenye yesizwe.

And Moses commanded the sons of Israel saying, —This, is the land, which ye shall inherit by lot, which Yahweh had commanded to be given to the nine tribes and the half tribe.

14 Ngoba isizwe sabantwana bakoRubeni ngezindlu zaboyise, lesizwe sabantwana bakoGadi ngezindlu zaboyise zemukele, lengxenye yesizwe sakoManase yemukele ilifa layo.

For the tribe of the sons of the Reubenites by their ancestral house, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, by their ancestral house, have received, and, the half tribe of Manasseh have received, their inheritance:

15 Izizwe ezimbili lengxenye yesizwe zemukele ilifa lazo nganeno kweJordani, eJeriko, empumalanga, lapho okuphuma khona ilanga.

the two tribes, and the half tribe, have received their inheritance—on this side Jordan near Jericho, eastwards, towards sunrise.

16 INkosi yasikhuluma kuMozisi isithi:

Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

17 La ngamabizo amadoda azalabela ilizwe libe yilifa: UEleyazare umpristi loJoshuwa indodana kaNuni.

These, are the names of the men who shall receive for you the land, as an inheritance, Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun.

18 Njalo lizathatha isiphathamandla kuleso lalesosizwe ukwehlukanisa ilizwe libe yilifa.

Also, one prince from each tribe, shall ye take to receive the land, as an inheritance.

19 Lala ngamabizo amadoda: Esizweni sakoJuda, uKalebi indodana kaJefune.

These, therefore, are the names of the men, —For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

20 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoSimeyoni, uShemuweli indodana kaAmihudi.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud:

21 Esizweni sakoBhenjamini, uElidadi indodana kaKisiloni.

For the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;

22 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoDani, isiphathamandla uBuki indodana kaJogili.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Dan, a prince—Bukki, son of Jogli:

23 Ebantwaneni bakoJosefa, esizweni sabantwana bakoManase, isiphathamandla uHaniyeli indodana kaEfodi.

For the sons of Joseph, For the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a prince, —Hanniel son of Ephod;

24 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoEfrayimi, isiphathamandla uKemuweli indodana kaShifitani.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a prince, —Kemuel, son of Shiphtan;

25 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoZebuluni, isiphathamandla uElizafani indodana kaParinaki.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a prince, —Elizaphan, son of Parnach;

26 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoIsakari, isiphathamandla uPalitiyeli indodana kaAzani.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a prince, —Paltiel son of Azzan;

27 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoAsheri, isiphathamandla uAhiyudi indodana kaShelomi.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Asher, a prince, —Ahihud son of Shelomi:

28 Lesizweni sabantwana bakoNafithali, isiphathamandla uPedaheli indodana kaAmihudi.

And, for the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a prince, —Pedahel, son of Ammihud.

29 Yibo labo iNkosi eyabalaya ukwehlukanisela abantwana bakoIsrayeli ilifa elizweni leKhanani.

These, are they whom Yahweh hath commanded to receive for the sons of Israel their inheritance, in the land of Canaan.
