1 INkosi yasikhuluma kuMozisi isithi:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
2 Tshono ebantwaneni bakoIsrayeli uthi kubo: Lapho lifika elizweni lokuhlala kwenu, engilinika lona,
“Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], and tell them, ‘When you have come into the land of your habitations, which I give to you,
3 lisenza umnikelo owenzelwe iNkosi ngomlilo, umnikelo wokutshiswa kumbe umhlatshelo, owokugcwalisa isithembiso, loba emnikelweni wesihle, loba emikhosini yenu emisiweyo, ukwenza uqhatshi olumnandi eNkosini, okuvela enkomeni kumbe ezimvini,
and will make an offering by fire to Adonai, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or as a free will offering, or in your set feasts, to make a pleasant aroma to Adonai, of the herd, or of the flock;
4 lowo-ke onikelayo umnikelo wakhe eNkosini uzasondeza umnikelo wokudla, ube ngokwetshumi lempuphu ecolekileyo ixubene lengxenye yesine yehini yamafutha;
then he who offers his offering shall offer to Adonai a meal offering of one tenth of an ephah [an omer; 2.3 q; 2.2 L] of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin [2.6 qt; 1.2 L] of oil.
5 lewayini libe ngumnikelo wokunathwayo, ingxenye yesine yehini, uzakulungisa lomnikelo wokutshiswa loba umhlatshelo, owewundlu elilodwa.
You shall prepare wine for the drink offering, the fourth part of a hin [2.6 qt; 1.2 L], with the burnt offering, or for the sacrifice, for each lamb.
6 Kumbe owenqama lizalungisa umnikelo wokudla, ube zingxenye ezimbili etshumini zempuphu ecolekileyo ixubene lamafutha, ingxenye yesithathu yehini;
“‘Or for a ram, you shall prepare for a meal offering one tenth of an ephah [two omers; 4.6 q; 4.4 L] of fine flour mixed with the third part of a hin [2.6 qt; 1.24 L] of oil;
7 lewayini libe ngumnikelo wokunathwayo, ingxenye yesithathu yehini, uzalinikela libe liphunga elimnandi eNkosini.
and for the drink offering you shall offer the third part of a hin [2.6 qt; 1.24 L] of wine, of a pleasant aroma to Adonai.
8 Njalo nxa lilungisa ithole eliduna lenkomo libe ngumnikelo wokutshiswa kumbe umhlatshelo, owokugcwalisa isithembiso, kumbe iminikelo yokuthula eNkosini,
When you prepare a bull for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or for peace offerings to Adonai;
9 uzanikelela-ke ithole lenkomo umnikelo wokudla, ube zingxenye ezintathu etshumini lempuphu ecolekileyo ixubene lamafutha, ingxenye yehini.
then shall he offer with the bull a meal offering of three tenths of an ephah [three omers; 6.9 q; 6.6 L] of fine flour mixed with half a hin [5.2 qt; 2.4 L] of oil:
10 Linikele iwayini libe ngumnikelo wokunathwayo, ingxenye yehini, kube ngumnikelo owenziwe ngomlilo olephunga elimnandi eNkosini.
and you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin [5.2 qt; 2.4 L] of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Adonai.
11 Kuzakwenziwa njalo ngaleyonkunzi, loba ngaleyonqama, loba ngewundlu, kumbe ngezinyane.
Thus shall it be done for each bull, or for each ram, or for each of the male lambs, or of the young goats.
12 Njengenani elizalilungisa, lizakwenza njalo kuleyo laleyo, ngokwenani lazo.
According to the number that you shall prepare, so you shall do to everyone according to their number.
13 Wonke owokuzalwa elizweni uzazenza njalo lezizinto, ekunikeleni umnikelo owenziwe ngomlilo woqhatshi olumnandi eNkosini.
“‘All who are native-born shall do these things in this way, in offering an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Adonai.
14 Uba-ke owemzini ohlala njengowezizwe lani, kumbe loba ngubani ophakathi kwenu ezizukulwaneni zenu, njalo enikela umnikelo owenziwe ngomlilo woqhatshi olumnandi eNkosini, njengoba lisenza uzakwenza njalo.
If a stranger lives as a foreigner with you, or whoever may be among you throughout all your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Adonai; as you do, so he shall do.
15 Kuzakuba lesimiso sinye kini abebandla lakowemzini ohlala njengowezizwe, isimiso esilaphakade ezizukulwaneni zenu; njengani uzakuba njalo owemzini phambi kweNkosi.
For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner, a statute forever throughout all your generations. As you are, so shall the foreigner be before Adonai.
16 Kuzakuba lomthetho munye lesimiso sinye kini lakowemzini ohlala lani njengowezizwe.
One Torah ·Teaching· and one judgement shall be for you, and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner with you.’”
17 INkosi yasikhuluma kuMozisi isithi:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
18 Tshono ebantwaneni bakoIsrayeli uthi kubo: Ekungeneni kwenu elizweni engilisa kulo,
“Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], and tell them, ‘When you come into the land where I bring you,
19 kuzakuthi nxa lisidla okokudla kwelizwe, linikele umnikelo wokuphakanyiswa eNkosini.
then it shall be that when you eat of the bread of the land, you shall offer up a wave offering to Adonai.
20 Ngokokuqala kwenhlama yenu lizanikela iqebelengwana, kube ngumnikelo wokuphakanyiswa; njengomnikelo wokuphakanyiswa webala lokubhulela, ngokunjalo lizawuphakamisa.
Of the first of your dough you shall offer up a cake for a wave offering. As the wave offering of the threshing floor, so you shall heave it.
21 Ngokokuqala kwenhlama yenu lizanika eNkosini umnikelo wokuphakanyiswa ezizukulwaneni zenu.
Of the first of your dough, you shall give to Adonai a wave offering throughout all your generations.
22 Uba-ke liduha, lingenzanga yonke imilayo le iNkosi eyikhulume kuMozisi,
“‘If you go astray, intoxicated, unintentional sin ·error· and you fail to observe all these mitzvot ·instructions·, which Adonai has spoken to Moses [Drawn out],
23 konke iNkosi elilaye khona ngesandla sikaMozisi kusukela ngosuku iNkosi eyalaya ngalo kusiya phambili ezizukulwaneni zenu,
even all that Adonai has enjoined you by Moses [Drawn out], from the day that Adonai gave commandment, and onward throughout all your generations;
24 kuzakuthi-ke uba kwenziwe ngokungazi, kungekho emehlweni enhlangano, inhlangano yonke izanikela ijongosi elilodwa ithole lenkomo, libe ngumnikelo wokutshiswa, kube luqhatshi olumnandi eNkosini, lomnikelo walo wokudla, lomnikelo walo wokunathwayo njengomthetho, lezinyane lembuzi elilodwa, libe ngumnikelo wesono.
then it shall be, if it was done as an unintentional mistake sin ·error·, without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma to Adonai, with its meal offering, and its drink offering, according to the judgement, and one male goat for a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering.
25 Umpristi uzakwenzela-ke inhlangano yonke yabantwana bakoIsrayeli inhlawulo yokuthula, bakuthethelelwe, ngoba kuyikungazi, futhi bona bazaletha umnikelo wabo, umnikelo owenzelwe iNkosi ngomlilo, lomnikelo wabo wesono phambi kweNkosi, ngenxa yesiphambeko sokungazi kwabo.
The priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel [God prevails], and they shall be forgiven; for it was an unintentional mistake sin ·error·, and they have brought their offering, an offering made by fire to Adonai, and their habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering before Adonai, for their unintentional mistake sin ·error·.
26 Lenhlangano yonke yabantwana bakoIsrayeli izakuthethelelwa, lowemzini ohlala njengowezizwe phakathi kwabo, ngoba kubo bonke abantu kwakusekungazini.
All the congregation of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall be forgiven, as well as the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them; for with regard to all the people, it was an unintentional mistake sin ·error·.
27 Uba-ke umuntu oyedwa esona ngokungazi, uzasondeza isibhuzikazi esilomnyaka owodwa, sibe ngumnikelo wesono.
“‘If one person sins ·errs (the standard goal)· that is an unintentional mistake sin ·error·, then he shall offer a female goat a year old for a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering.
28 Lompristi uzawenzela lowomphefumulo owone ngokungazi inhlawulo yokuthula, lapho one ngokungazi phambi kweNkosi, ukumenzela inhlawulo yokuthula; uzakuthethelelwa-ke.
The priest shall make atonement for the soul who deviates in mental error, unintentional sin ·error·, for his sin ·err (the standard goal)· is an unintentional mistake sin ·error·, before Adonai, to make atonement for him; and he shall be forgiven.
29 Lizakuba lomlayo munye kwalowo owona ngokungazi, owokuzalwa elizweni phakathi kwabantwana bakoIsrayeli, lowemzini ohlala njengowezizwe phakathi kwabo.
You shall have one Torah ·Teaching· for him who does any unintentional mistake sin ·error·, for him who is native-born among the children of Israel [God prevails], and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them.
30 Kodwa umuntu okwenza ngabomo, engowokuzalwa elizweni loba engowemzini, ethuka iNkosi; njalo lowomuntu uzaqunywa asuke phakathi kwabantu bakibo.
“‘But the soul who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native-born or a foreigner, the same blasphemes Adonai. That soul shall be cut off from among his people.
31 Ngoba edelele ilizwi leNkosi, wephula umlayo wayo, lowomuntu uzaqunywa lokuqunywa; ububi bakhe buzakuba phezu kwakhe.
Because he has despised Adonai’s word, and has broken his order, that soul shall utterly be cut off. His depravity (moral evil) shall be on him.’”
32 Kwathi abantwana bakoIsrayeli besenkangala, bafica umuntu etheza inkuni ngosuku lwesabatha.
While the children of Israel [God prevails] were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Shabath ·Intermission· day.
33 Labo abamficayo etheza inkuni bamletha kuMozisi lakuAroni lakunhlangano yonke.
Those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer], and to all the congregation.
34 Bamfaka esitokisini, ngoba kwakungakatshiwo ukuthi kuzakwenziwani kuye.
They put him in custody, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.
35 INkosi yasisithi kuMozisi: Lowomuntu kabulawe lokubulawa; inhlangano yonke izamkhanda ngamatshe ngaphandle kwenkamba.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “The man shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp.”
36 Lenhlangano yonke yamkhuphela ngaphandle kwenkamba, yamkhanda ngamatshe waze wafa, njengokulaya kweNkosi kuMozisi.
All the congregation brought him outside of the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out].
37 INkosi yasikhuluma kuMozisi isithi:
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
38 Khuluma ebantwaneni bakoIsrayeli, ubatshele ukuthi bazenzele izintshaka emagumbini ezembatho zabo, ezizukulwaneni zabo, lokuthi bafake entshakeni yomphetho intambo eluhlaza okwesibhakabhaka.
“Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], and tell them that they should make themselves fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put on the fringe of each border a cord of blue:
39 Njalo kuzakuba kini yintshaka ukuze likukhangele, likhumbule yonke imilayo yeNkosi, liyenze, lingadingi lilandele inhliziyo yenu lilandele amehlo enu, eliphinga ngokukulandela.
and it shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look on it, and remember all Adonai’s mitzvot ·instructions·, and do them; and that you not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to play the prostitute;
40 Ukuze likhumbule lenze yonke imilayo yami, libe ngcwele kuNkulunkulu wenu.
that you may remember and do all my mitzvot ·instructions·, and be holy to your God.
41 NgiyiNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu eyalikhupha elizweni leGibhithe ukuba nguNkulunkulu wenu; ngiyiNkosi uNkulunkulu wenu.
I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], to be your God: I am Adonai your God.”
