1 Kwathi ekupheleni kwesabatha, emadabukakusa kusiya osukwini lokuqala lweviki, kwafika uMariya Magadalena, lomunye uMariya, ukuzabona ingcwaba.
And after the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the sepulcher.
2 Futhi khangela, kwaba khona ukuzamazama komhlaba okukhulu; ngoba ingilosi yeNkosi yehla ivela ezulwini, yasondela yagiqa ilitshe yalisusa emnyango, yahlala phezu kwalo.
And behold, there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord having descended from heaven, came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 Lokubonakala kwayo kwakunjengombane, lesembatho sayo sasimhlophe njengeliqhwa elikhithikileyo.
His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment was white as snow.
4 Abalindi basebethuthumela ngokuyesaba, baba njengabafileyo.
From fear of him the keepers did shake and become like dead men.
5 Kodwa ingilosi yaphendula yathi kwabesifazana: Lingesabi lina; ngoba ngiyazi ukuthi lidinga uJesu obebethelwe;
But the angel answered and said to the women: Fear not; for I know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified.
6 kakho lapha; ngoba uvukile, njengokutsho kwakhe; wozani libone indawo lapho iNkosi ebilele khona.
He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 Hambani masinyane litshele abafundi bakhe ukuthi uvukile kwabafileyo; njalo khangelani, uzalandulela ukuya eGalili; lizambona khona; khangelani, sengilitshelile.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples, that he has risen from the dead: and behold, he goes before you into Galilee. There you shall see him. Lo, I have told you.
8 Basebephuma engcwabeni ngokuphangisa belokwesaba lentokozo enkulu, bagijima baya ukubikela abafundi bakhe.
And they went out quickly from the sepulcher, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
9 Kwathi besiyatshela abafundi bakhe, futhi khangela, uJesu wabahlangabeza, wathi: Mpilo enhle! Basebesondela babamba inyawo zakhe, bamkhonza.
And as they were going to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying: Hail! And they came and laid hold of his feet, and worshiped him.
10 UJesu wasesithi kubo: Lingesabi; hambani, libikele abafowethu ukuthi baye eGalili, njalo bazangibona khona.
Then Jesus said to them: Fear not; go, tell my brethren to go into Galilee, and there they shall see me.
11 Kwathi sebehamba, khangela, abanye kubalindi baya emzini babikela abapristi abakhulu konke okwenzakeleyo.
While they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city, and told the chief priests all things that were done.
12 Sebebuthene labadala, benza icebo, banika abebutho imali enengi,
And when they came together with the elders, they held a consultation, and gave much money to the soldiers,
13 besithi: Kalibokuthi: Abafundi bakhe beze ebusuku bameba silele thina.
saying: Say that his disciples came by night and stole him away, while we were asleep.
14 Futhi uba lokhu kuzwakala kumbusi, thina sizamncenga, silenze lingabi senkathazweni.
And if this shall be heard in the presence of the governor, we will persuade him, and make you secure.
15 Basebethatha imali benza njengalokhu ababekufundisiwe; lalelilizwi landa phakathi kwamaJuda kuze kube lamuhla.
And they took the money, and did as they were taught. And their report of this matter is everywhere published among the Jews to this day.
16 Kwathi abafundi abalitshumi lanye baya eGalili, entabeni uJesu ayebalayele yona;
And the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into the mountain, where Jesus had appointed to meet them.
17 sebembonile bamkhonza; kodwa abanye bathandabuza.
And when they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
18 UJesu wasesondela wakhuluma labo, esithi: Wonke amandla aphiwe mina ezulwini lemhlabeni;
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying: All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me.
19 ngakho hambani lenze izizwe zonke zibe ngabafundi, libabhabhathiza ebizweni likaYise leleNdodana lelikaMoya oNgcwele;
Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations, immersing them (the disciples) into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;
