1 Wasephendula uBilidadi umShuhi wathi:

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2 Ukubusa lokwesabeka kulaye; uyenza ukuthula endaweni zakhe eziphezulu.

Dominion and fear are with him, he makes peace in his high places.

3 Kukhona inani yini lamabutho akhe? Ngubani okungamphumeliyo ukukhanya kwakhe?

Is there any number of his armies? and on whom does not his light arise?

4 Pho umuntu angalunga njani kuNkulunkulu? Kumbe ozelwe ngowesifazana angahlambuluka njani?

How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

5 Khangela kuze kube senyangeni, njalo kayikhazimuli, lezinkanyezi kazihlambulukanga emehlweni akhe.

Behold even to the moon, and it shines not; yes, the stars are not pure in his sight.

6 Pho kangakanani umuntu oyimpethu, lendodana yomuntu engumswenya!
