1 Kalume njalo uthando lobuzalwane.
Continue in brotherly love.
2 Lingakhohlwa ukungenisa izihambi; ngoba ngalokho abanye bangenisa izingilosi bengazi.
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.
3 Khumbulani izibotshwa, ngokungathi libotshwe kanye lazo; abaphethwe kubi, ngokungathi lani liphethwe kubi emzimbeni.
Remember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those who are mistreated as if you were suffering with them.
4 Umtshado uhlonitshwa kubo bonke, lombheda ungangcoliswa; kodwa uNkulunkulu uzagweba iziphingi lezifebe.
Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
5 Indlela yempilo kayingabi ngeyokuthanda imali, yeneliswani yizinto elilazo; ngoba yena utshilo ukuthi: Kangisoze ngakulahla, njalo kangisoze ngakutshiya.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”
6 Ngakho singatsho ngesibindi sithi: INkosi ingumsizi wami, njalo kangiyikwesaba umuntu azakwenza kimi.
So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
7 Khumbulani abakhokheli benu, abakhulume kini ilizwi likaNkulunkulu; liqaphelise ukuphela kokuhamba kwabo, lilingisele ukholo lwabo.
Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (aiōn g165)
9 Lingaduhiswa yizimfundiso eziyinhlobonhlobo lezingaziwayo; ngoba kuhle ukuthi inhliziyo iqiniswe ngomusa, kungabi ngokudla, abangasizwanga yikho ababebambelela kukho.
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by foods of no value to those devoted to them.
10 Silalo ilathi, abangelalungelo lokudla kulo abakhonza ithabhanekele.
We have an altar from which those who serve at the tabernacle have no right to eat.
11 Ngoba lezozinyamazana, ogazi lazo langeniswa ngumpristi omkhulu endaweni ezingcwele ngenxa yesono, izidumbu zazo zitshiswa ngaphandle kwenkamba.
Although the high priest brings the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, the bodies are burned outside the camp.
12 Ngakho laye uJesu, ukuze angcwelise abantu ngelakhe igazi, wahlupheka ngaphandle kwesango.
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, to sanctify the people by His own blood.
13 Ngakho-ke asiphumele kuye ngaphandle kwenkamba, sithwele ihlazo lakhe.
Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace He bore.
14 Ngoba kasilawo umuzi omiyo lapha, kodwa sidinga ozayo.
For here we do not have a permanent city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.
15 Ngakho asinikele njalonjalo kuNkulunkulu ngaye umnikelo wendumiso, okutsho isithelo sendebe sivuma ibizo lakhe.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.
16 Kodwa lingakhohlwa ukwenza okuhle lokuphana; ngoba uNkulunkulu uyathokoza ngeminikelo enjalo.
And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
17 Lalelani abakhokheli benu, lizehlisele ngaphansi kwabo; ngoba laba balinda imiphefumulo yenu, njengabazalandisa; ukuze bakwenze lokhu ngenjabulo, njalo bengabubuli; ngoba kungalisizi lokhu.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who must give an account. To this end, allow them to lead with joy and not with grief, for that would be of no advantage to you.
18 Sikhulekeleni; ngoba siyathemba ukuthi silesazela esihle, sifisa ukuhamba kuhle ezintweni zonke;
Pray for us; we are convinced that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
19 njalo ngiyalincenga ngokwengezelelwe kakhulu ukuthi likwenze lokhu, ukuze ngibuyiselwe kini ngokuphangisa.
And I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you soon.
20 Kungathi uNkulunkulu wokuthula owamkhuphula kwabafileyo uMelusi omkhulu wezimvu ngegazi lesivumelwano saphakade, iNkosi yethu uJesu, (aiōnios g166)
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, (aiōnios g166)
21 angaliphelelisa kuwo wonke umsebenzi omuhle ukuze lenze intando yakhe, esebenza kini lokho okumthokozisayo phambi kwakhe, ngoJesu Kristu, kakube kuye ubukhosi kuze kube nini lanini. Ameni. (aiōn g165)
equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
22 Kodwa ngiyalincenga, bazalwane, lemukeleni ngesineke ilizwi lenkuthazo; ngoba ngilibhalele ngamafitshane.
I urge you, brothers, to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have only written to you briefly.
23 Yazini ukuthi umzalwane uTimothi ukhululwe, uba efika masinyane, ngizalibona ngilaye.
Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.
24 Bingelelani bonke abakhokheli benu, labo bonke abangcwele. Abavela eIthaliya bayalibingelela.
